Lets Start Over

Summary:

Mono would find her. He'd find her and ask her why she did it. Why did she leave him.

And surely enough, he had found her, face hidden by the hood of her raincoat.

"You left me! Why did you do it?!" He yelled with tears in his eyes, his hands were gripping her shoulders as he shook her violently.

Her hood fell back just enough to reveal her face. What he saw was not Six, but a completely different girl instead.

Chapter 1: Finding Six

Chapter Text

Mono searched and searched however he could throughout the television screens, but he never saw any sign of her, Six.

He wanted to see her again, one last time. Whether she wanted to see him or not. But it was obvious she wouldn't be happy to see him, after all she was the one to leave him here, alone and confined to this chair he sat on. He felt like he had been sitting here for an eternity now. Had it even been that long?

Would he only find her when it was time for him to finish his cycle of the loop? No, he didn't want that. He didn't want to hurt Six the way his older self had. If he hadn't done that, then maybe Six wouldn't have left him.

The room was cold, illuminated by the pink light that lit the room. He was growing tired of that color.

"Let me see her... Just one more time..." He whispered to no one but himself.

What would he do when he finally saw her? That was an easy question to answer, he had a lot of time to think about it. He wanted to ask her why she left him. Ask her what he did wrong.

He clenched his hands into fists now.

"Traitor..." He whispered. "TRAITOR!" He grabbed his hair within his hands, pulling at it until he felt just enough pain to make him let go.

He wiped his face from the tears that had begun to fall.

He wanted to see her, but he knew if he saw her he would lose it. He wasn't just sad. He was enraged. Furious. And why wouldn't he be? After all he was betrayed by the one and only person he truly considered as a friend.

"Please..." He whispered as he continued to search throughout the screens. His continued to grow impatient. He refused to wait years.

He froze now when he saw the figure of someone wearing a yellow raincoat pass by the screen.

"Six!" He yelled desperately.

He put his hand up against the screen now.

Could he really do this? He couldn't hesitate now. He wouldn't get another chance like this again.

He focused on the screen now, using his power until he felt himself fall through the screen, and into the place he had seen Six in.

He opened his eyes, in front of him were many, many realistic looking dolls sitting in front of the TV. He looked around anxiously, scanning the room until his eyes landed on a familiar figure wearing a yellow raincoat.

Six.

Her face was hidden by her hood, and she even looked taller. She took a step back as he began to get up.

He lunged towards her now, grabbing her by the shoulders before pulling her in a hug. "Six!" He cried, clinging onto her.

This was the moment where he expected her to push him away, and sure enough she did. It wasn't as rough as he would have imagined her to be, but he wasn't ready to let go. He clinged to her, tight enough so it wouldn't be easy to push him away.

"Why Six?! Why did you leave me?!" He yelled, bursting into tears almost immediately.

"U-um-"

That was different. Her voice sounded much higher than he remembered.

She began to push him away again, and he could feel how uncomfortable she was in this situation.

He grabbed her by the shoulders now, shaking her violently. "You left me... Why?! Why did you do it?!" He yelled.

Her hood fell back from being shaken.

Mono's eyes went wide, he let go of her almost immediately, and jumped back.

That wasn't Six. If anything it was the opposite of Six. Instead of seeing her messy black hair, he saw long brown hair, braided to the side and at the end of it was a red bow keeping it together.

She looked at him worriedly. "U-um I think you have the wrong person..." She said softly with a nervous giggle.

"You're not Six..." He whispered, his eyes still wide with confusion and even anger.

"No... Um... Who's Six?" She asked curiously.

He furrowed his eyebrows before pointing to her yellow raincoat.

"Where did you get that?" He asked seriously.

She looked down at her raincoat before looking at him. "Oh, its mine. I've always had it." She explained with a small smile.

"No..." He whispered. "That was my friend's. Did you steal it from her?" He asked angrily.

She furrowed her eyebrows. "No, of course not." She replied seriously.

"I don't believe you."

She frowned. "Are you calling me a thief?"

"And what if I am?" He remarked.

"Well you're not only calling me that, but a liar as well. Here I am minding my business when you crawl out of the TV like a freak, grab me and confuse me for someone else and then accuse me of both stealing and lying when you have no proof. No wonder this so called 'Six' left you."

"Shut it!" Mono hissed.

She pulled her hood back up.

"If you'll excuse me I have to get going." She said, turning away from him.

"Wait," Mono spoke. He was still upset, but he couldn't risk losing a possible connection to Six. He had to find her.

She looked at him.

"I... I really need to find my friend... Maybe she's not wearing a raincoat. Have you seen anyone in a blue cardigan maybe?"

He realized he might have ended up farther in the past then he did in the present. It hadn't been his intention, but this was what he got for his impatience.

Hee expression softened now. "No, sorry. I've only seen two other girls here, and only one of them seems to still be alive. She wasn't wearing a cardigan though.

Mono sighed.

"But who's to say she isn't somewhere out there?" She said now. "If we run into the girl I know, we can ask her. She seems to be taking a different escape route."

Mono supposed that was better than nothing.

"I... Okay." He said hesitantly.

She smiled. "We're not too far from the exit." She reassured before taking a look around. "Find somewhere to hide. I'm gonna disconnect the TV. That'll make the Butler come in here." She explained.

"Who's the butler?" He asked.

"He's one of the monsters. He has powers so we can't risk being seen by him, now quick, go hide."

Mobo listened, and once he had somewhere to hide he watched as she unplugged the TV before running to one of then empty doll chairs and sat down on it, staying still.

The door opened, revealing what he was sure had to be the butler. He was hunched over to the point his head almost touched the ground. His feet were also a few inches away from the ground, he was levitating. He plugged the TV once again before walking around the room for a bit before turning around and leaving. Mono noticed his hands were confined behind his back as well.

Telepathy is what this monster probably had.

He left, leaving the door wide open for the two of them to leave.

The two of them left, and the raincoat girl led the way most of the time, leading him under the floor boards and into a piano room. He had figured out the puzzle easily, revealing a ladder that had previously been hidden behind a wall. The two of them climbed up, both looking at the pictures hanging on the wall.

There were many, many pictures of children, and one big one in the midst of it all. It was of a girl in a green dress, with white hair and red lipstick smudged on her lips.

"Who's that?" Mono asked.

"The pretender." Raincoat girl replied. "I haven't run into her that much... But she plays pretend with dolls... Made out of other kids."

Mono frowned. He was visually disgusted. "Does that mean the dolls in the room earlier..."

She nodded. "Dont think about it too much." She said.

They moved on, and reached what she claimed was the last room they needed to get through.

More portraits hanging on the walls. He heard a girl screaming now, and he instinctively looked below them, seeing the Pretender at the very bottom of the stairs, screaming at a doll with a scarf around her neck before dragging her by the foot and taking her outside.

"Shh."

He looked at the girl now, she looked nervous.

As the two of them finally reached the bottom, she stopped him from going further.

"The door's right there-"

"Shh!" She pointed towards one of the closed doors now. "Butler. Run." She whispered.

He nodded.

As they ran out of the building, the butler had dropped the chandelier from the ceiling, barely missing them.

They ran outside, avoiding falling statues and more.

He could see a gate, but not only that. But a small girl who pushed against it, trying to get it open.

Mono froze. Her black unkempt hair looked way too familiar. As they got closer she turned around to look at them both. He could see her face clearly, and thats when he knew it was her. It was Six.

But there wasn't enough time, they were being chased and only had so much time to get away.

Six and the girl pushed the gate open together, and once opened she rushed off, running much faster than either of them ever had. He wasn't surprised, she had always been faster.

However she didn't make it far, an electrical fence blocked her way. The lever to it was out of her reach since she couldn't reach the ladder.

He made sure to be faster than raincoat girl this time, running to Six's side and offering to be boosted. She didn't hesitate to agree and boosted him up. He pulled down the lever, and the moment the electricity was turned off she sprinted out once again without a second though. "Wait!" He yelled.

"Come on, hurry!" Raincoat girl yelled. He hopped down now and ran with her. The butler was getting closer.

The two of them ran, avoiding fallen trees and rocks. But one thing was bugging him, where had Six gone? Had she taken a different pathing?

Both of them screamed as the bridge they had been running across snapped. Luckily both of them managed to hold on and use what remained of the bridge as a ladder. They continued to run forward, avoiding the large thorns that stuck around until they reached a shed. Mono was the first to get inside.

Raincoat girl on the other hand was still outside of it, looking towards the distance. His eyes widened as he saw Six running towards them. He smiled in relief, but it quickly disappeared when he saw the girl step inside the shed, shutting the door on Six before placing a plank underneath the handle to keep anyone from coming in.

He grabbed her by the hood now, yanking her away from the door. She gasped. "No!" She yelled, grabbing him by the back of his jacket and pulling him back. "T-the butler will get in! You can't!" She cried.

Six continued to bang against the door before it finally went silent.

He slapped her hand away. "You're a coward! Who the hell leaves someone to die huh?! You're no better than those other monsters!" He screamed.

"We're alive! And I'm sure she is too! She always finds some other way around!"

Mono didnt listen to her words and threw the plan aside, opening the door. But Six was no longer there.

He turned his head towards the girl now.

"You killed her..." He whispered.

She stood up now, and looked away.

"I did not..."

"YOU KILLED HER! That was my friend! That was her!" He screamed, grabbing her by the shoulders. She pushed him away now before running off.

What happened now? Was she gone forever? She couldn't be gone, it had to be some kind of mistake. But he couldn't think rationally at that moment. He could only think about how that girl was be responsible for Six's death.

He ran after her but she had managed to put a good amount of distance between them both.

They made it out the cave, and once they were outside they were spotted. The pretender had been crying by herself up until she heard them. She looked towards them, letting out an enraged scream. He moved past the raincoat girl, pushing her away so she'd have a better chance of getting caught before climbing down the cliff.

A few feet above him he could see her following his lead, with the pretender close on her tail. He kept his eyes focused below him.

He gasped when he saw Six come around the corner on the edge of the cliff. She stopped walking, looking up at him. He smiled in relief until he saw the ground below her collapse, making her fall.

She managed to catch herself on a tree branch that was just barely hanging on. He needed to help her.

"Hold on!" He reassured.

He climbed down faster until he reached a ledge with an old tree trunk. He kicked it and pushed it until it fell, making a makeshift bridge and platform for her to land on. She let go of the branch and landed on the tree. He hopped down now and went followed Six, hoping raincoat girl wouldn't follow him.

And sure enough she continued to climb down, with the pretender closely behind her until she reach the bottom cliff. He caught up to Six who was standing in one place, looking below them at the cliff where raincoat girl was.

He wouldn't be surprised if she just stood and watched, but to his surprise she began to run forward, running along at the same speed as the girl who who below them.

He followed as she ran faster, grabbing a sturdy stick that was on the ground in the process before finally reaching the end of the cliff where a larger boulder sat. She put the stick under it and looked below.

Raincoat girl had finally reached a dead end, looking towards the pretender who stepped closer to her, hands outstretched menacingly.

That's when Six did it, she managed to knock the boulder over so it landed on the pretender.

He didn't understand why she had done that. That girl had locked her out of the shed to save her own skin, and now Six was trying to save her? What had she done to earn Six's respect. He was caught off guard again when he saw a smile form on her lips.

She looked down below them at raincoat girl, smiling proudly.

And she smiled back, looking up at Six gratefully.

It didn't make sense to him... He had done so much more for her... And she left him. Why was she saving this girl then?

It angered him, he felt more betrayed. He wasn't sure what kind of past these two had but he was sure it was nothing compared to what he and Six had. After all she didn't even know Six's name.

Then again, he felt like he knew a lot about her, but in reality there was still so much he didn't know.

He was such a coward back then. When it came to speaking up about how he felt, he could never. He would stutter and never find the right words to use.

But he swore it would be different this time...

The pretender got up all of a sudden, lunging herself towards the raincoat girl, pushing her down but falling with her in the process.

He heard Six gasp, her hand reaching out for the girl. He watched the two of them hit the water.

Mono frowned now, seeing a parallel of what had happened to him before.

He looked over at Six, who looked so lost and confused. He knelt down beside her, laying a hand on her shoulder comfortingly.

She flinched before looking over at him. He gave her a warm smile, hoping to reassure her in some way.

It was clear she didn't recognizes him. He was disappointed at first, until he realized how this could work in his favor. This would technically be his first time meeting Six, in this timeline. Which was much farther back then when he had originally met her.

She got up now, dusting herself off before she started to walk away.

"H-hey wait up," He called.

She didn't stop walking, and didn't even look back at him.

He caught to her now, grabbing her hand. She stopped walking now, looking up at him with a glare.

He didn't remember her being this small, she was much shorter compared to him.

"We should stick together okay?" He said, hoping he wouldn't have her run from him like last time.

She pulled her hand away, which was already a bad sign, before going over to the edge of the cliff and pointing down. He looked down to where she was pointing, seeing a raft. He looked over at her and nodded.

"Okay, lets go."

He let her lead the way. She kept a far distance from him, not speaking nor saying a word, but she seemed cooperative when working together, which was a good sign.

Once they got to the bottom they gave the raft a push before the two of them crawled on top of it and took a seat.

This was much like the first time too.

Six wrapped her arms around herself. She only wore a white tee and shorts, which couldn't be doing her any favors. He saw a yellow raincoat was drifting away in the water, too far for his reach. He didn't feel comfortable with Six wearing the raincoat of a dead girl. He'd find something else for her to use to keep warm.

He frowned as he saw her shiver.

"Hey," he finally spoke now, breaking the silence between them.

She glanced over at him now.

"I'm Mono." He said with a smile.

She didn't react, as expected.

"And you...?"

She looked down at the water now, as if debating if she should tell him or not.

She finally spoke now, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Six."
