It was a new day on the Boiling Isles, and it had been a few weeks since the events at the Emperor's palace. Luz Noceda had quite an encounter with Emperor Belos, and she along with Eda, King, and all of her friends were wondering how they would continue on with the aftermath of the Emperor's Coven potentially after them. Luz was walking to school, and there she met up with Willow, Gus, and Amity as they were about to enter Hexside. “It's great to see that your leg is feeling better Amity.” Luz happily explained as she gave a smile.

-”It's great to be back.” Amity replied who gave a smile back.

-”I'm really worried about what could potentially happen in the near future.” Willow responded while also giving a worried expression.

-”I hear you Willow.” said Luz who was also starting to look a bit worried as well. “I'm still amazed I was able to get out of that encounter with Emperor Belos in one piece.”

-”If I had been there I would have fought alongside you Luz.” Amity replied. “My parents might have killed me, but there's no way I'm letting my friends get hurt by a power hungry, corrupt Emperor.”

-”With all that's happened I'm worried about everyone around us.” Gus muttered who had a very worried tone in his voice. “With how the Emperor's Coven has influence everywhere, how do we know who we can trust anymore?”

-”Should we even be talking about this while we're out here in the open?” Willow replied.

-”You have a good point Willow.” said Amity as she was looking around them looking quite worried.

-”Let's just head to school, and try to make it through this day you guys.” said Luz as the other three nodded, and they headed inside the school while all of them were holding hands with worried looks on their faces.

-”Attention all students!” Principal Bump cried out as he talked over the intercom. “Due to recent events there will be a new mandatory class that all students will be required to take. It will appear on your class schedules, and it will tell you which period you are assigned. That is all for now, and have a great school day everyone.” With that, the students all took out their class schedules, and the new class magically appeared on the slips.

-”Looks like I have this new class for first period.” said Luz.

-”Same here!” replied all three of her friends at the same time.

-”Looks like we're going to be in the same class together Mittens.” said a voice as they noticed Amity's older twin siblings Emira and Edric. “I can't remember the last time we had a class together.” said Emira as she rubbed Amity's head messing up her hair somewhat.

-”This should be fun.” said Amity in a very sarcastic tone as she fixed her hair.

-”Not to worry Mittens.” Edric smiled. “Because of everything that's happened we promise to ease up on the teasing, right Em?”

-”That's right Ed.” Emira replied. They all headed into the classroom, and the school bell shrieked as they all sat down.

-”Hey guys, it's been a while” said Luz as she noticed her friends from the former Detention Track in class with them. Viney, Jerbo, and Barcus all waved at her happily.

-“It's been a while Luz.” said Viney in a welcoming tone. “We were wondering how you've been doing since we last saw you on your first day here at Hexside.”

-”Not to mention with what happened to you recently we really hope you are doing well Luz.” said Jerbo who had a very concerned tone and look on his face as Barcus said something in his own language.

-“We're thankful you're still in one piece Luz.”

-”If you ever need help you know the three of us will always have your back.” said Viney as the other two nodded in agreement.

-”Thanks you guys!” said Luz in a grateful tone as Principal Bump came in to introduce them to their new class.

-”Good morning students.” said Principal Bump. “This new class was requested by someone who I trust with my life, and he has even taken a job to be your new teacher. You may come in now” said Bump as a male sorcerer with fair skin, dark blue hair, and dressed in a wizard's garb walked into class.

-”I've never seen him before.” said Luz as she turned to Willow.

-”That's Willard the Warlock.” Willow replied. “He's a pretty well known sorcerer, and he was one of this school's most esteemed graduates.

-”He's not as legendary as someone like Lilith or Eda, but he is a pretty respected figure on the Boiling Isles.” said Gus.

-”I thank you Bump for allowing me to start up this new class.” said Willard.

-”The pleasure is all mine.” said Principal Bump. “ I will leave you all to your first period class. Be sure to give Willard great respect.” With that, Bump walked out of the room, and Willard was about to address his students for first period.

-”Allow me to introduce myself.” said Willard. “I am Willard Talis, and I am certain some of you may know my son Issac who also attends Hexside.” said Willard as he gestured to his son who was sitting in the middle row.

-”Hey Pops!” Issac called out as he waved to his father. “It's pretty rad to have you as a teacher dad.”

-”I don't think I've ever met that boy” said Luz.

-”I somewhat know him from the Plant Track” Willow responded. “I briefly spoke to him a few weeks ago when he used some healing magic to heal a classmate who received an injury from his own plant, but as far as I know he rarely socializes. He's a quite guy who keeps to himself most of the time.”

-”He seems like a cool guy.” Viney replied. He's like the three of us where he's also in more than one track. He started off just being in the Healing Track, but once Bump allowed students to study more than one he offered him to also be in the Plant Track since he knew Issac also wanted to be in it.”

-”It's an honor to be in your presence Willard the Warlock.” said Gus in a very dignified tone.

-”You don't need to address me by that title.” said Willard. “I wish to separate myself from that in light of recent events. In fact, before I continue I feel as though I should make certain we are more secluded.” With that, he cast a spell that put a blue aura around the entire room. “You can never be too careful.” Willard uttered. “Because of what has happened I wouldn't be surprised if the Emperor's Coven has spies everywhere.

-”Why have you cast this spell Mr. Willard?” Amity asked.

-”It's a safety spell to make certain nothing that is said in this room will be heard by any prying eyes that may attempt to spy.” Willard answered. “I've known for quite a while now how corrupt the Emperor's Coven is, and with current events I wanted to start a class here that could help young witches such as yourselves to better protect yourselves from the evil arts and all forms of unfriendly magic. I know you in particular will need this Luz.” Willard said as he looked towards Luz. “I will be keeping a close on you, and so help me no one from the Emperor's Coven will come anywhere near you, the Owl Lady, or anyone close to you.”

-”Wow! He's really concerned for my safety.” said Luz who was quite surprised.

-”Just be glad he's on your side.” said Gus. “He'll be a powerful ally against our enemies.”

-”Not to mention with what happened to Eda we need all the allies we can get.” said Amity. Some time had passed, and first period was over when the bell shrieked.

-”That will be all for today class.” Willard announced. “Tomorrow I will really get into teaching better defense techniques against evil magic.” With that, the students all walked out of the room as they all headed to their next classes.

-”It looks like things around here are really getting serious due to what happened.” said Gus who was looking nervous.

-”You said it!” Amity replied.

-”Well, come on Gus!” Edric commented. “We have to head over to our illusion class.”

-”I'll see you guys later.” Gus said as he and the Twins left for their class.

-”I have my abomination class next.” Amity said. “I'll see you guys at lunch.”

-”Later Amity!” Luz said as she and Willow waved to Amity as she happily waved back at them. “So, you ready for our photo class Willow?” Luz asked as she faced Willow.

-”You bet I am.” Willow answered. “Hopefully this time we don't run into any problems with our memories being tampered with.”

-”I hear you Willow.” Luz replied as they headed over to their photo class. The day went by and everyone was getting ready to head home after another day at school.

-”The end of another day.” Gus uttered as he and his friends met at the entrance before leaving for home.

-”I really need to get home as soon as I can guys.” Luz commented. “Hopefully soon we can all get together.”

-”Why don't we all get together at the Owl House later this evening?” Willow suggested.

-”Eda said we could all come over for dinner sometime, so why not tonight?” Gus asked.

-”That sounds great you guys.” Luz replied. “Come on by later, and we can all enjoy a peaceful evening together.”

-”Bye Luz!” called out her friends as they all waved to Luz. Just then, Luz noticed someone about to approach her.

-”Heeey! Human girl, it's rad to finally meet you.” said Issac as he slid down the stair bar, and ended up falling on the ground. “Man, I swore I got that right the last time.” said Issac who was quite frustrated he flubbed his slide attempt.

-”Ohh! Err... Hey there. Issac was it?” said Luz in a somewhat dumbfounded tone, but the two were interrupted by Willard coming down the staircase.

-”Issac, I told you to tone it down with your antics.” said Willard sounding mildly frustrated. “The last thing I need is for my own son to get into trouble with Principal Bump.”

-”Relax Pops, it was just a scratch.” said Issac as he was trying to stand back up. He darted his eyes over to Luz as soon as he was back on his feet. “Hey human girl. Name's Issac, and I'm glad to finally meet ya dudette.”

-”I uhh.... kinda figured that out already,” said Luz as she reluctantly shook his hand, “and my name's Luz.”

-”Luz eh?” replied Issac. “Not a bad name. I could swear it almost rhymes with los-,” but Willard abruptly silenced Issac with his finger, before approaching Luz himself.

-”Don't mind him.” said Willard. “He has never been the best with introductions.”

-”Oh, no harm done good Willard sir.” said Luz as she bowed before him. “You better not be a fake wizard behind that outfit I hope?” said Luz as Willard chuckled.

-”Nonsense dear child.” said Willard. “I am like any normal wizard on the Boiling Isles.” said Willard as he briefly looked away mildly irritated. “Although I have seen my share of phonies before.” Willard then faced Luz again. “Anyway, we would like a word with you.”

-”What for?” asked Luz who was beginning to feel quite concerned.

-”Come with us dear child, and we will show you.” said Willard.

-”Does it have to be today?” asked Luz. “I need to get home soon, or else Eda might send a search party out to look for me if I stay out too late.”

-”It is quite safe my dear.” said Willard in a comforting tone. “You are quite safe with me, and I only wish for you to meet someone.”

-”Who?” asked Luz.

-”I think he's someone you'll be quite interested in meeting.” said Willard with a wink as Luz got a bit excited. She decided to go along with them, and they took her to a house right outside Bonesborough that was not too far away from the Owl House.

-”Alrighty, we're here dudette.” said Issac. “Excuse me while I open our gateway to a good life.” said Issac calmly before he started to knock loudly on the front door. “YO RODNEY! We got a guest here for you.”

-”Could you at least knock gently next time.” said a voice from behind the door.

-”Yeah, yeah, just come out and see who we brought.” said Issac. The door opened, and a young boy who looked taller than Luz came out to meet who he was talking about. The very second Luz and Rodney saw each other both were completely shocked.

-”Another human lives here...?” thought Luz to herself.

Luz and Rodney simply stared at each other for a few moments just completely in awe at the sight of each other until one of them finally spoke. “How could I have never known another human was living here on the Boiling Isles until now? When did you get here? How did you get here? What's your reason for being here in the first place?” said Luz in a very weirded out tone.

-”Hello there young lady.” said Rodney as he put down his hand to shake hers. “My name is Rodney Moore, and it is nice to meet you.”

-”My name is Luz Noceda, and it's nice to meet you too.” said Luz as she shook his hand.

-”I had heard of a human girl that came here, and how she had stood up to Emperor Belos, but for a while now I had barely left my house. Me and my mother have kept a mostly low profile ever since we arrived three months ago.”

-”WAIT!” shouted Luz. “Your mother is also here, so there are two other humans on the Boiling Isles besides me?”

-”Yes my child.” said Willard. “You see it was thanks to Rodney and his mother accidentally stepping into a portal to this world that I had made that they found a way into our world. Me and my son both welcomed them to the Boiling Isles, and we served as their guides when they first arrived here.”

-”I am still having a hard processing all of this right now.” said Luz who was feeling very confused and dumbfounded over all of this. “Two other humans arrive on the Boiling Isles, and not only that, they came here two months before I did, and they were somehow able to adapt to this world, and until now I had no idea they were even here?”

-”I understand this is a lot to take in Luz.” said Rodney. “However, would you like to come inside?” asked Rodney as he politely gestured to Luz.

-”Yes! Thank you for the invite.” said Luz as she along with Willard and Issac entered the Moore residence.

-”Mom!” called out Rodney. “We have some guests.”

-”I'll bring out some...,” but before Mrs. Moore could finish her sentence she was surprised to see Luz standing in the foyer of her home. “This is quite a surprise.” said Mrs. Moore in a very surprised tone. “I had heard of the human girl in this world, and it is quite surprising to see another human has adapted to living in the Demon Realm.”

-”I feel the same way.” replied Luz. “It's nice to meet you ma'am.” said Luz as she shook Mrs. Moore's hand.

-”It's nice to meet you too.” said Mrs. Moore. “Would you like me to bring you something to drink?”

-”Some water would be nice please?” said Luz.

-”A glass of water coming right up.” said Mrs. Moore as she went into the kitchen.

-”Here, have a seat Luz.” said Rodney as he happily offered her a place to sit on their couch.

-”This is a nice home you guys have here,” said Luz.

-”It used to be abandoned and almost falling apart believe it or not.” said Rodney. “Willard got some construction friends of his to help refurbish the place for us when we moved into it.”

-”Here is your water.” said Mrs. Moore as she brought Luz her drink.

-”Thank you so much Mrs. Moore.” said Luz very graciously. “So, I see that you two arrived here from a portal like I did, and I have to wonder why you are even living here? Didn't you two already have a life back on Earth?”

-”We did, and we also sort of didn't.” said Rodney.

-”My son and I didn't have too much to live for back on Earth.” said Mrs. Moore.

-”I'm sorry to hear that.” said Luz. “Did something horrible happen before you came here?”

-”My life hasn't exactly been a great one Luz.” said Rodney as Luz was starting to get a sad look of sympathy in her eyes. “I was a lonely child for pretty much my entire life. I never really had any friends, and the best thing I had was my family. My mother and father were always my best friends in the whole world, and they made my life worth living. However, that all came to an end not long after I turned 10. My father passed away, and after that my life got even lonelier than it had ever been.”

-”I am so sorry to hear that.” said Luz as she gave Rodney a hug.

-”What a kind young lady you are.” said Mrs. Moore. “After I lost my husband I ended up having to work longer hours just to make ends meet since I was the only one bringing home a paycheck. I was so busy with work most of the time that I could barely spend time with my son. It was heartbreaking for me to see my son so lonely, and I wished I could spend more time with him. That sort of ended when I finally got my son a pet.”

-”Once my mother felt I was truly ready for a pet she took me to a local reptile breeder, and that's where I got Ben.” said Rodney as he lifted up a Sulcata tortoise up onto the couch next to Luz.

-”Whoa!” said Luz. “There's even an Earth animal here?”

-”Ben was my only friend, and when I finally got him I wasn't so lonely when my mother was unable to be around.” said Rodney.

-”He's a handsome boy.” said Luz as she petted Ben's shell.

-”Thanks for the compliment.” said Ben as Luz was taken aback from Ben being able to talk.

-”HE TALKS?” Luz cried out.

-”I gave Rodney a spell that would allow Ben to speak.” said Willard. “I figured it would be great for his best friend to actually be able to communicate with him.”

-”Once I was able to talk life became so much more fun.” said Ben. “I can't even begin to describe all the great moments me and Rodney have had together after this happened to me.”

-”I now understand why you chose to stay here on the Boiling Isles.” said Luz. “I'm really sorry for the life you've had Rodney. Nobody deserves to have to go through that, especially not someone like you who seems like a really sweet guy.”

-”I thank you for all your kind words Luz.” said Mrs. Moore. “If only my son had met someone like you back on Earth.”

-”You may be older than me, but if I had met you when I was still on Earth I would have befriended you in a heartbeat.” said Luz.

-”I'm sure it would have been great to have you for a friend Luz.” said Rodney in a very gracious tone. “With my father gone, not having any relatives, no friends, and really nothing else to live for on Earth it felt like a miracle when we accidentally found Willard's portal to this world.”

-”Not to mention I also lost my job after they had to downsize at my place of employment.” said Mrs. Moore.

-”OUCH!” said Luz.

-”Once me and Rodney decided on starting a new life here on the Boiling Isles we sold our house, packed up all of our belongings, and we moved here where Willard had this house all set up for us to bring everything into.” said Mrs. Moore. “Anyone who knew us back in our old town assumed we moved to a new city.”

-”After settling here our lives have actually been much happier.” said Rodney. “While we have been keeping a low profile for the longest time I at least have Ben to talk to, my mother is able to spend a lot of time with me, I have Issac as another best friend, Willard starting teaching me magic, and it's just been a lot better than if we had stayed on Earth.”

-”It's cool that you've also been practicing magic.” said Luz.

-”I heard you learned magic from the Owl Lady, and that seems awesome given everything Willard and Issac have told me about her.” said Rodney.

-”She's a really great teacher.” said Luz. “She can seem a bit odd at first glance, and can be a bit rough around the edges, but once you really get to know her she's just the coolest.”

-”I have always admired Eda's spirit and skill as a witch.” said Willard. “I just feel bad for what happened to her during your unfortunate experience with Emperor Belos.”

-”After what happened that day me and mother have been keeping even more of a low profile, and we've been too nervous to really show ourselves to anyone else in this world besides Willard and Issac.” said Rodney. “While I have been able to learn some magic abilities I could never stand my own against the majority of the witches here on the Boiling Isles. They'd turn me to dust.”

-”That's been the only downside to living here.” said Mrs. Moore. “However, if we mostly keep to ourselves and don't bother anyone than I know we should be perfectly safe.”

-”They also have me to protect them.” said Willard. “As long as I am around neither Belos nor anyone from the Emperor's Coven will come near any of you. I will also make certain that you and anyone close to you is under my protection Luz.”

-”This has been quite a day.” said Luz. “I learn that other humans also live here in the Demon Realm, and I also make some new friends quite fast.”

-”I'm grateful to have met you Luz.” said Rodney.

-”I'm glad that my son has been able to make another friend.” said Mrs. Moore.

-”It wont just be me.” said Luz. “I'm sure Eda, King, and all of my other friends would love to meet you Rodney.”

-”I'd love to meet them too.” said Rodney.

-”OH NO!” said Luz who was nervous all of a sudden. “I really have to get home. Eda is probably getting ready to send a search party for me as we speak.”

-”I'll escort you to the Owl House my child.” said Willard.

-”We all will.” said Rodney as they all got up to accompany Luz back to her home.

After a bit of time had passed, Luz was finally in front of the Owl House, and immediately Hooty came to greet her. “Where have you been? HOOT! HOOT!” said Hooty. “We were all really starting to get worried.”

-”Why didn't you come home as soon as school was over?” said Eda who came out of the house all worried. “I was starting to worry that something might have happened to you.”

-”It's okay Eda.” said Luz. “I'm perfectly fine.”

-”Thank goodness you're okay Luz.” said King as he rushed out to climb onto Luz. “If anything had happened to you.... I don't even want to think about that.” said King who sounded very concerned.

-”You don't need to worry Eda.” said Willard. “I kept a close eye on Luz after she left school.”

-”So, you're Willard the Warlock ehh?” said Eda as she came up to them. “I heard you started a new class at Hexside.”

-”Yup!” said Issac. “My pops is now a teacher, and he's teaching a class on how to protect ourselves from any of those creepy dudes that are out there.”

-”I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate you for starting something like that Willard.” said Eda. “Luz and all of the young witches are going to need to learn how to protect themselves even more so than ever now.”

-”Though, why did you come home late anyway Luz?” asked King.

-”Yeah!” said Eda. “School ended over a half hour ago, and you just now came home? What exactly were you doing during all that time kiddo?”

-”Willard and Issac introduced me to some new friends, and I can't wait for you to meet them.” said Luz who was very enthusiastic.

-”You mean you stayed out longer just to meet some high ranking friend of Willard?” asked Eda.

-”No!” said Luz. “I think you'll be quite surprised by this new friend of mine. This is my new friend Rodney.” said Luz as Rodney came out to meet Eda, and Eda, King, and Hooty were shocked to see another human on the Boiling Isles.

-”Hello there Ms. Owl Lady.” said Rodney as he came up to meet Eda. “My name is Rodney Moore, and it is a pleasure to meet you.”

-”The pleasure is all mine.” said Eda who was quite surprised at the sight of another human in her presence. “I take it you came into this world from a portal that Willard made?”

-”Yes I did ma'am.” said Rodney as he bowed before her.

-”No need to be so formal.” said Eda. “I'm just surprised that another human has been living here, and yet I never knew about it.”

-”Rodney and his mother have kept a very low profile since they arrived here.” said Willard. “Only myself, my son Issac, and a few others who I trusted to fix up their house have known they've been here.”

-”At least you aren't alone here Mr.... Rodney was it?” said Eda.

-”Yes!” replied Rodney. “I was lucky to have both my mother and my pet tortoise come with me.

-”An animal from the human world here on the Boiling Isles too?” said King. “Man, this world has gotten so strange as of late, and that's saying a lot.”

-”Would you all like to come inside?” asked Eda. “Luz's friends are going to be here any minute, and I have to make sure dinner is ready.”

-”I believe me and Issac will be heading home now, but thank you for the invite Eda.” said Willard. “Do you think you'll be able to get home safely later on your own Rodney?”

-”I think I should be okay Willard.” said Rodney.

-”Very well then.” said Willard. “I will see you at school tomorrow Luz. Have a nice evening all of you.” said Willard as he and Issac prepared to leave.

-”Later Rodney!” said Issac. “See you tomorrow at school human dudette.”

-”See you tomorrow Issac.” said Luz.

-”Now then, let's get inside as we prepare for our dinner guests.” said Eda.

-”I can't wait for you to meet my friends Rodney.” said Luz. “You're really going to like them, and I am certain they'll like you.”

-”I cannot wait to meet them.” said Rodney as they all went into the Owl House. They all entered the Owl House, and while Eda was finishing up their dinner, Hooty came to announce the guests.

-”It looks like your dinner guests have arrived. Hoot! Hoot!” said Hooty as he opened the door.

-”Don't even think of touching me.” said Amity as she positioned her hand as if she was about to smack Hooty.

-”No need to be so moody. Hoot!” said Hooty.

-”I'm glad you guys are all here, because I have a new friend for you all to meet.” said Luz as Rodney came out to meet Luz's friends.

-”Hello everyone!” said Rodney as Willow, Gus, Amity, Emira, and Edric were all surprised to see another human.

-”This is so cool.” said Gus as he went over to meet Rodney. “I can't believe there's another human here. My name is Gus, and it so awesome to make your acquaintance.” said Gus as he stretched out his hand to shake Rodney's.

-”It is nice to meet you too Gus.” said Rodney. “My name is Rodney.”

-”Hi Rodney!” said Willow as she came up to greet him. “My name is Willow.”

-”It's nice to meet you Willow.” said Rodney as they shook hands, and then Rodney gave her a greeting hug.

-”You're quite a gentlemen.” said Willow.

-”You must be Amity.” said Rodney as he noticed her. “Luz has told me a lot about you.”

-”She has?” said Amity as she was starting to blush.

-”It's an honor to be in the presence of a gifted young witch such as yourself Amity, said Rodney as he greeted her with a hug, and Amity smiled as she slowly hugged him back.

-”It's also nice to meet you too... Rodney was it?” asked Amity.

-”Yes!” replied Rodney.

-”These are my older twin siblings Emira and Edric.” said Amity.

-”Nice to meet you.” said Emira as Rodney gave her a greeting hug, and he shook Edric's hand.

-”It's cool that not only is there another human here, but he's closer to our age sis.” said Edric.

-”I'm 18.” said Rodney.

-”So you're a bit older than us.” said Edric.

-”I can't wait to get to know you Mr. Rodney.” said Gus. I want to know everything about you.”

-”Gus loves the human world.” said Willow. “I get the feeling he's going to want to spend a lot of time with you.”

-”That's cool with me.” said Rodney. “I'm more than happy to make some new friends.”

-”Dinner's ready!” said Eda as she brought the food for everyone, and everyone sat down to eat. “So tell us about yourself Rodney.” said Eda.

-”This is going to be soooo cool.” said Gus as he was ecstatic to hear what Rodney had to say.

-”I hope all of you are ready for a bit of a long story.” said Rodney as he explained everything to all of Luz's friends. Some time went by, and Rodney had finished telling his story. “Then just an hour ago I met Luz, she brought me here, and now I'm here talking to all of you.”

-”That is quite a backstory young man.” said Eda.

-”Sorry about your father Rodney.” said Willow.

-”We'll do everything we can to make sure your life here is as pleasant as it can possibly be Rodney.” said Gus.

-”Thank you!” said Rodney. “I am grateful to have met all of you. Despite what has recently happened around here, I know my life is better here than it could ever be back on Earth.”

-”So what kind of human activities are you into Rodney?” asked Gus enthusiastically.

-”I'm curious to know what some of your hobbies are too.” said Luz.

-”I'm into comic books and superheroes, animated content, Disney, Pixar, video games, puppetry, and I love to draw and paint.” said Rodney.

-”I love Disney and Pixar films too.” said Luz. “What are your favorite films?”

-”My favorite Pixar film is Finding Nemo, and my favorite Disney film is Aladdin.” said Rodney.

-”Nice choices.” said Luz. “You're also a puppeteer?”

-”I'm not so much a puppeteer, but I am someone who loves the craft, and I love to practice it.” said Rodney. “I even have a couple of my own puppets that I made myself. They aren't Muppet style puppets, but they are nice for being completely homemade.”

-”I'd love to see you perform them.” said Gus.

-”I'd be happy to perform them for all of you at some point.” said Rodney.

-”You seem like a really sweet guy Rodney.” said Willow. “It's nice to have met you.”

-”I just wish we had more time to get to know you better.” said Edric.

-”Maybe after school we can all go to his house.” said Luz. “If you're okay with that Eda.”

-”Of course!” said Eda. “Just take King with you so you can have an extra helping hand kiddo.”

-”I'd be happy to accompany Luz to Rodney's house.” said King. Sometime had passed, and it was time for everyone to head home.

-”Thank you so much for dinner Eda.” said Rodney as he and the other guests were heading out the door.

-”It was nice to have all of you over.” said Eda. “Have a safe trip back home.”

-”So, we're on for Rodney's house tomorrow after school, right everyone?” said Gus.

-”We sure are Gus.” said Luz.

-”Goodbye everyone!” said Rodney as he started to head home. “It's great to have met all of you.”

-”Bye Rodney!” said Luz as she and everyone else waved back to him as he left. “I cannot wait to get to know him better.” said Luz as she noticed she need to use the bathroom. “I'll be right back everyone.” said Luz as she rushed to the bathroom.

-”This has been quite a day.” said Willow.

-”It sure has.” said Eda. “I need to ask all of you something.”

-”What is it?” asked Amity.

-”When you're all at Rodney's house tomorrow keep a close eye on Luz for me please?” said Eda.

-”You know I will.” said Amity.

-”As will I.” said King. “I'll keep a close watch on her like a hawk.”

-”Wait, do you guys not trust Rodney?” asked Gus who was looking somewhat confused.

-”He seems nice enough.” said Willow, but in a somewhat hesitant tone.

-”He does seem harmless, but with what's recently happened you can never be too careful.” said Eda.

-”Do you not trust him either Willow?” asked Gus who seemed weirded out by Willow possibly being mistrustful.

-”I want to be his friend, but I feel I need to know more about him first.” said Willow.

-”Agreed!” said Amity. “Just because someone comes off as harmless doesn't mean that's who they really are.”

-”Not to mention the fact that this boy has tried to keep himself mostly hidden for this long kind of gives me a concerning impression.” said Eda. “Before I know for certain I'm concerned for Luz's safety.”

-”I'm back!” said Luz as she returned to join everyone. “I cannot wait for tomorrow. You guys are gonna love Rodney's place, and his mother and pet turtle are also really cool.

-”I'm sure we'll all love to them Luz.” said Willow he made a bit of a nervous smile as the others gave suspicious looks that Luz was not noticing at all.

The next day, everyone is getting ready for their daily classes, and Luz and her friends are all about to walk into Hexside. “Heyyy human dudette.” Issac exclaimed as he went up to say hello to her. “Bet you're getting along with my man Rodney eh?”

-”As far as new introductions go.” Luz chuckled. “Hey! After school me and my friends are going to head over to his house so they can all get to know him better. Would you like to come along too Issac?”

-”Awe heck yeah!” Issac grinned. “Rodney's my best bud, and I love spending time with him.”

-”See!” Gus whispered to the others. “He trusts Rodney, so I don't think you guys have anything to be suspicious of.”

-”I honestly don't think we should be completely taking the word from some laid back guy who barely socializes.” Amity scowled. “How do we know he's a good judge of character?”

-”That's a lot coming from someone who stuck to her guns and never said much.” Gus smirked. Amity's face turned red as a result. The last thing she needed was to be reminded of who she used to be.

-”Gus!” Willow responded in a disappointed tone as she, Emira, and Edric glared at him. “We're all friends now, and friends don't make others feel bad over past mistakes they've already been forgiven for.”

-”I was partly joking, I swear.” Gus said, now looking embarrassed as well.

-”It's okay!” Amity smiled. “You did have a point.”

-”Well then, let's head over to our first class everyone.” Luz happy smiled as they all headed over to their first class of the day.

-”You dudes don't need to worry that much.” Issac told them as they were heading into class. “My pops may seem like the always serious, no nonsense type, but he's actually pretty chill. He's stern, but he's not a complete hard...” before Issac could finish his sentence, Willard came into class, and greeted his students.

-“Good morning class.” Willard remarked as everyone gave them his attention.

-”Good morning Mr. Willard.” said the entire class at once.

-”As I said yesterday, today is when we will really start to get into more serious training on defending yourselves on evil and unfriendly magic.” Willard said in a quite stern tone. “Please do not take this as I will be completely hard on you. I care about all of you, and want to help prepare you in anyway I can, but at the same time you must take this quite seriously, and even if it gets too hard for some of you, you must still keep at it.”

-”You got it Pops.” Issac replied as he gave his father a salute.

-”Now then,” Willard replied as he got his staff ready, “we will start off today by demonstrating how well you can react when an unfriendly spell is coming at you.”

-”Do you think my magic glyphs can block an unfriendly spell?” Luz asked as she was really getting nervous.

-”If you could use your glyph magic to help defeat Grom I think this shouldn't be hard for you Luz.” Amity replied as she gave Luz a smile.

-”Now then, we shall move the desks and chairs so we may have more space to work.” Willard said as he used his magic to put all the chairs and desks at the sides of the room as the majority of the classroom was now open space. “Willow! Would you like to join my son for this first demonstration since both of you are in the Plant Track?”

-”Sure thing!” Willow replied.

-”It's an honor to work with the greatest plant student in this school.” Issac remarked as Willow blushed over an upperclassmen giving her such a compliment.

-”Now then, could either of you three make some form of unfriendly illusions to use for this demonstration?” Willard asked as he gestured towards Gus, Edric, and Emira.

-”Sure!” Gus replied. “What did you have in mind?”

-”Why don't we start off by making say... an Emperor's Coven member.” Willard answered.

-”You got it Mr. Willard.” Gus replied as he used his illusion magic to create a standard Emperor's Coven member in their traditional garb.

-”You two will be handed over to Emperor Belos.” barked the illusion as it started to prepare a magical attack on Willow and Issac.

-”Show me what you got.” Willow barked back as she used her plant magic to summon some vines to help restrain the Emperor's Coven illusion.

-”Why don't you try some of this dude.” Issac remarked as he used his magic, but all he summoned up was a simple pile of leaves that fell onto the illusion's head.

-”What was that?” Amity asked as she and the rest of the class were somewhat dumbfounded at Issac using such a weak counter attack against the illusion.

-”I know you aren't doing this to goof off son, but you really need to put more emphasis on using your magic as a defense.” Willard remarked in an understanding tone.

-”I know Pops!” Issac replied. “It's just that, I really can't stand the idea of having to hurt someone.

-”I knew he's laid back, but I wasn't aware he was also a pacifist.” Emira remarked.

-”Your gentle nature is one of your most admirable qualities son.” Willard replied. “I know it's not like you to attack, but your enemies will not feel the same way. You have to defend yourself, and you can't do that by simply giving them a mild irritation. You need to actually fend them off.”

-”I know Pops!” Issac replied back.

-”Poor Issac!” Luz remarked. “In front of the whole class as well as his father.”

-”He's lucky his father is so understanding.” Amity answered back. “I don't want to think about how my parents would have reacted if something like that happened to me in front of them.

-”If that did happen you know me and Ed would have your back baby sis.” Emira smiled as she put her hand on Amity's shoulder, and she smiled back at them.

Now then, for the next demonstration I would like to have Luz and Viney join together.” Willard remarked as the two got ready for whatever illusions Gus or the Blight Twins would through at them.

Sometime later, we see everyone at lunch, and all of the students in the school were all getting accustomed to Willard's new class. “So how hard is Willard's class?” Bo asked.

-”It wasn't too hard for me,” Amelia replied, “but I can't say the same for him.” Amelia pointed to a younger male student who was shaking while muttering to himself.

-”I have that class next period.” Bo replied. “I hope I can handle whatever gets thrown at me.”

-”Just do what you can, and try not to get too stressed under pressure.” Amelia replied. “That's the best advice I can give you.”

-”Attention students!” Principal Bump's voice was heard over the intercom. “I hope you are all getting off to a good start in our new class, and I hope any who are finding it difficult to shape up because it will only get tougher from here. Due to what's happened recently you all have to learn to adjust to a much more unforgiving world. That is all.”

-”No more giant snakes.” the male student said to himself as he curled up into a fettle position on the bench.

-”I would say at least half of the student body is off to at least a decent start with Willard's new class.” Luz remarked as she and her friends were having their lunch.

-”I still can't believe Emira and Edric made illusions of Grom for me to fight against.” Amity barked as she glared at them as they nervously smiled back.

-”Sorry Mittens!” Emira replied.

-”We just can't help it when we make an illusion too realistic.” Edric remarked.

-”We weren't trying to embarrass you Amity.” Emira remarked. “We just couldn't think of anything else to test your defensive skills.”

-”I get it you two.” Amity smiled back. “ I appreciate that you two just want to help me, but it's hard to not sometimes take what you do as trying to tease me.”

-”We understand!” Emira replied.

-”Can I sit here?” Issac asked as he came up to the table Luz and her friends were sitting at.

-”First time I've ever seen you sit with anyone at lunch.” Gus remarked.

-”I figured I should try to make some new buds.” Issac explained. “Since I know you dudes are going to become chums with my man Rodney I figured I should also become buds with you dudes and dudettes too.”

-”We always welcome new friends into our circle.” Luz happily said as Issac sat down across from Luz at the table.

-”I'm honestly not looking forward to after school.” Amity whispered to the others. “If Luz notices that we're suspicious of Rodney she'll undoubtedly get mad at us.”

-”The more I think about this, the more I'm starting to think you guys along with Eda are just being paranoid.” Gus whispered back.

The school day went by, and the school bell shrieked to let everyone know that school was over. All the students gathered up their belongings as they prepared to either go to their lockers to gather anything else they needed or went straight to the door to leave for home. A good amount of students didn't exactly have a smooth day of dealing with Willard's class, some students were already weary of having to deal with it again the next day. “So was the new class hard on you?” Viney asked a male student.

-”I do not want to think about having to deal with this class again tomorrow.” replied the student.

-”I'm sure you'll get used to it.” Viney responded as she put her hand on the students shoulder. “Willard only wants you to learn how to protect yourself, and he cares about all of us.”

-”Thanks Viney!” replied the student. “Just hearing that reassures me that I can do better.”

-”That's the spirit.” Viney remarked with an enthusiastic smile.

-”I cannot wait to get over to Rodney's.” Luz said looking really happy.

-”I gotta meet with my Pops about something, but I'll meet you dudes over there.” Issac remarked.

-”We'll see you there Issac.” Luz responded.

-”Later human dudette.” Issac waved as he walked off to meet his father.

-”Now I just have to wait for my friend, and we can all head over to Rodney's.” Luz said to herself as she waited for her friends by the front entrance.

-”Hey Luz!” Gus uttered as he along with Willow, Amity, Emira, and Edric all approached Luz.

-”Hey guys!” Luz replied back. “Just let me put some of these books into my locker, and we can head over to Rodney's place.” All of Luz's friends minus Gus looked at each other with nervous expressions.

-”Hey there Luz.” Viney said as she approached them.

-”Hey Viney!” Luz replied back.

-”Can I talk to you for a moment Luz?” Viney asked.

-”Of course you can.” Luz happily replied. “What did you want to talk about?”

-”I was hearing around, and is it true that there's another human besides you here on the Boiling Isles?” Viney asked.

-”There sure is.” Luz answered. “I met him yesterday, and he's a pretty good guy. Although I don't want to go advertising it just yet since I don't want Rodney and his mother to have residents of the Boiling Isles heading over to their house just to see them.”

-”So there are two other humans then?” Viney remarked.

-”Yes!” Luz replied. “Would it too much to ask if I asked you to just keep this to yourself for now?”

-”Not at all Luz.” Viney answered. “I know what you mean. I'm sure there are some students here who would most likely harass him just because he's another human given what some of these individuals think of you.?

-”Exactly what I was thinking.” Luz remarked. Meanwhile, Luz's friends were waiting for Luz to come back, and most of them were still worried about going over to meet up with Rodney.

-”It's going to be really awkward once we leave the school.” Edric remarked.

-”I still don't get why you guys are still being paranoid about someone who's obviously harmless.” Gus said with a somewhat disgusted tone.

-”I get what you are saying Gus, but there's always the possibility that he's just acting nice, and it could turn out he's not what he seems.” Willow remarked.

-”Also, with how Eda is worried about Luz as am I, I am still going to keep a close watch on her when we're over there.” Amity remarked with a somewhat worried tone.

-”It's just a good thing that Luz isn't here to hear us talking about this.” Emira remarked.

-”I wouldn't say that.” Luz replied who was standing behind them with her arms crossed and an angry expression on her face.

-”Luz!” shouted all of them sans Gus.

-”How long have you been there?” Amity asked looking embarrassed.

-”Long enough to hear almost everything you guys were saying.” Luz replied in a very upset tone. “So you guys don't trust Rodney? What about him makes you think he could possibly be untrustworthy?”

-”Luz! Please don't be mad?” Willow uttered looking very nervous.

-”It's just that with everything that's happened recently we're just worried about what could possibly happen to you Luz.” Amity replied. “It's just kind of convenient that a human who we never even knew was living here just happens to show up after what happened with Belos.”

-”He's a human!” Luz angrily replied. “Why would a human possibly try to hurt me? I seriously doubt Emperor Belos would have a human as a spy. Also, I can't believe you'd be suspicious Willow. I thought you'd be better than that.” Luz's words really made Willow feel ashamed.

-”We're your friends Luz.” Willow replied.

-”We're just worried about your safety because we care about you.” Amity uttered as she was starting to look really embarrassed.

-”Well if you guys are going to start suspecting others when they clearly didn't do anything to make you suspicious of them in the first place then I strongly believe you guys are all just being paranoid. If you guys don't trust Rodney then I see no reason for you to come with me.”

-”Luz!” Amity uttered.

-”Just forget it you guys.” Luz replied. “I'll head over to Rodney's myself, and you guys can just not come. No need for you guys to be visiting someone you don't trust for absolutely no reason.” Luz stormed off as the others were all looking really ashamed of themselves. Gus gave them all a stern look as they were feeling guilty for making Luz angry at them.

-”I told you so.” Gus angrily remarked.

-”We really messed up.” Emira replied.

-”We have to make this right you guys.” Willow remarked.

-”The last thing I want is for my friendship with Luz to fizzle out just as it got started.” Amity remarked who was looking embarrassed.

-”You really care for her as a friend, don't you little sis? Emira replied as she put her hand on Amity's shoulder, and she started to blush.

-”I sure do.” Amity replied in a happy tone before her face began to turn pink from embarrassment. “I mean as a friend.”

-”Anyway, we're just wasting time here.” Willow responded. “If we want to make this right we have to head over there to Rodney's place, and sort this out with Luz.

-”Don't forget that King is supposed to accompany us.” Gus remarked.

-”I remember.” Willow answered as they all headed over to the Owl House before they made their way over the Moore residence to make things up with Luz.

Sometime later Luz is walking towards Rodney's house looking quite upset. “I cannot believe my own friends would be like that. At least Gus wasn't being paranoid, but Willow? I can't believe she's be like this.” Unbeknownst to Luz, there was something odd present near her, and she could hear that someone or something might be close by. “Is that you guys?” Luz angrily asked as she looked behind only to see nothing there. “That was odd.” Luz uttered to herself. A strange shadowy figure was watching from behind a giant boulder, and it is obvious this strange figure is following Luz. She finally arrived at Rodney's house to find Rodney and Issac outside waiting for the rest of the guests.

-”Hey Luz!” Rodney called out. “Where is everyone else?”

-”It's just me Rodney.” Luz answered in an upset tone.

-”You alright dudette?” Issac asked.

-”My friends are being paranoid, and think you maybe can't be trusted because of what's been happening as of late.” Luz replied. “I still can't believe they would think a human could be a spy for Belos. I told them to just forget about it, and I came by myself. Last thing I need is for anyone to make you feel unwelcome Rodney.” As soon as Luz finished her rant, Rodney and Issac were just standing there not knowing what to say.

-”Maybe you shouldn't be too mad at them Luz.” Rodney replied. “I mean, you can't really blame them for being uncertain of a stranger popping up that they never knew about.”

-”I just can't believe they'd think something like that of you when you're obviously harmless.” Luz remarked.

-”But they don't know that yet.” Rodney replied. “I know it takes time to get some people to trust you, and given what's happened lately I can easily see they were just concerned for your safety.”

-”It's still just really upsetting to me.” Luz cried out as Rodney and Issac weren't sure how to get her out of her state of frustration.

-”I'll go tell my mom that you'll be our only guest tonight them.” Rodney replied as he and Issac went inside to tell Mrs. Moore. Just then, Luz began to hear a strange sound that seemed to be calling to her. Luz fell into a trance, and started walking away from the Moore residence.

-”So it's just Luz then?” Mrs. Moore asked as she was speaking to Rodney and Issac inside the house.

-”Looks like it Mo...” Rodney said, but stopped himself as he noticed Luz wasn't standing outside the front door. “Where did she go?” Rodney said aloud as the three went to see where she went. They looked around, and noticed her walking away in a distance.

-”Where's she off too?” Issac asked.

-”Not sure, but we better follow her.” Rodney replied. “We'll go see where's she's off to Mom. We''ll be back as soon as possible.” Rodney remarked as he and Issac ran after Luz before she was out of sight. “Luz!” Rodney cried out, but Luz didn't answer. “What's with her?”

-”It was almost as if she couldn't hear you bud.” Issac replied. “I can't put my finger on it, but there's something creepily familiar about this dude.”

-”I've been thinking the same thing, and I think...” but Rodney stopped mid sentence, and had a look of dread on his face.

-”You alright bud?” Issac asked.

-”I think I know what's going on here.” Rodney replied in a worried tone. “Luz is in grave danger. We gotta catch up with her.” With that, they continued to run, and eventually caught up with Luz to a creepy cave alongside the beaches of the Boiling Isles.

-”Now I remember dude.” Issac remarked in a frightened tone. “How is she back? I thought my dad took care of her.”

-”I thought so too.” Rodney replied. “Luz! Snap out of it.” Rodney called out as Luz finally snapped out of her trance.

-”Whaaa? Where am I?” Luz asked.

-”We gotta get out of here, NOW.” Rodney cried out.

-”It's too late for that.” a scary voice called out from inside the cave.

-”Not again.” Rodney said in a frightened tone.

-”I found myself a tasty new morsel , and what luck that my original prey has also walked into my trap.” said the voice.

-”What's happening?” Luz asked in a frightened tone.

-”I'll finally be able to taste young human life force, and it will be scrumptious.” said a scary looking monster who looked part woman and part spider. She had a spider like lower half with four legs, and a more humanoid looking torso with four arms, a humanoid like head, and two large fangs coming from the two upper ends of her mouth.

-”Her name is Reni, and she's a rare creature that loves to feed on the life force of young people.” Rodney answered. “On the day that me and my mother had established ourselves here on the Boiling Isles she lured me like she did you, and brought me to this same seaside cave where she attempted to feed off of me.”

-”My dad came to save him, and we thought he had gotten rid of her, but I guess not.” Issac commented.

-”That fool may have defeated me, but he couldn't get rid of me forever, and now I am back to feed.” Reni cried out. “This time, that fool Willard isn't here, and there's no one who can save you.”

-”You wont get my life force so easily.” Luz cried out as she started to get her magic glyphs ready, and used an ice glyph to put a sheet of ice in between them and Reni.

-”Impossible!” Reni cried out. “A human has no magical ability.”

-”This one found a way to use magic.” Luz replied. “By the way Rodney, how do you manage to use magic?” Luz asked as she turned to Rodney.

-”My way of using magic is by using talismans, but I think I only have one with me at the moment.” Rodney said as he pulled the talisman out of his pocket. “Lucky for us it's the fire spell talisman.”

-”How do you know which talisman does what type of magic?” Luz asked.

-”They all have specific markings and colors for me to know.” Rodney replied as he showed her the details on the talisman.

-”Yo dudes, shouldn't we get out of here?” Issac asked in a frightened tone as Reni broke through the ice wall.

-”You morsels aren't going anywhere.” Reni shouted as she approached them and began to blast an energy beam from her fangs with a light green aura.

-”Don't let her venom blast hit you Luz.” Rodney shouted. “It'll paralyze you.”

-”Thanks for the heads up.” Luz replied as she used one of her plant glyphs on Reni.

-”You'll have to do better than thorny vines human girl.” Reni cried out as she continued trying to hit her with her venom blast.

-”Do something Issac.” Rodney cried out.

-”Why me bro?” Issac asked in a scared tone.

-”You're technically the most skilled magic user here Issac.” Luz replied. “Use some of it.”

-”I don't think I can dudette.” Issac responded.

-”I know you're a pacifist buddy, but we really need your help right now.” Rodney cried out. “Please Issac? Do something.” Issac hesitantly started to perform a magic spell, but like his earlier dud, all he did was conjure a minor gust of wind that sent Reni back slightly.

-”You can do better than that Issac.” Luz shouted in a somewhat mad tone.

-”I'm sorry dudette.” Issac replied. “It's not just that I don't want to hurt anyone. I'm nothing. My father is such an accomplished wizard, and I'm the biggest nobody in my family.”

-”Don't say that about yourself.” Luz replied as she used a fire spell to send back Reni with a fireball.

-”You'll have to do better than that.” Reni shouted as she started to rush over to Luz. “I wont be denied of such a tasty meal this time.” Reni uttered as Luz attempted to slow her down by using a plant glyph to summon vines to restrain her. “This wont hold me for long.”

-”Issac, I know you're capable of great magic.” Rodney said as he put his hand on Issac's shoulder. “I know you don't have ambitions of being a powerful wizard, and that you're someone who just enjoys the simple things in life, but I know you're gifted with powerful magic like you're father, and I know you can help us out right now.” Just as Rodney finished, Reni started to stomp the ground causing some rocks to fall, and Issac was knocked out by a stone.

-”Issac!” Shouted Rodney.

-”This has gone on long enough.” Reni shouted as she broke free from the vines, and blasted some webbing to trap Luz and Rodney. “I have you both now, and pretty soon I'll have tasted delicious human life force.” Reni snickered as she was making the preparations to feast on them.

-”I'm sorry Rodney.” Luz said as she and Rodney were hanging by webs on the wall of the cave. “If I hadn't stormed off from my friends, they could have helped us.”

-”This isn't your fault Luz.” Rodney replied. “If anything, even if this is the end, I'm glad I met you Luz.”

-”I'm glad I met you too Rodney.” Luz responded. “It's so cool to know another human has been living here, and that I got to befriend him.”

Meanwhile, Willard showed up at the Moore residence, and Mrs. Moore was standing outside her house waiting for the others to arrive. “Hello Willard.” Mrs. Moore called out.

-”Good evening Mrs. Moore.” Willard responded. “Where is Issac? He told me he'd be home before dinner, but he still hasn't returned.”

-”I don't know where he is.” Mrs. Moore responded. “Luz showed up earlier, and Rodney and Issac noticed her walking away for some reason. They followed, but they still haven't come back.”

-”What's that about Luz wondering off?” Eda said as she, King, Willow, Gus, Amity, Emira, and Edric all showed up.

-”I thought Luz said no on else was coming tonight.” Mrs. Moore said in a confused tone.

-”We all came to reassure Luz we didn't mean to make her upset.” Willow replied.

-”Yeah! Yeah!” Eda uttered. “What's this about Luz just wondering off?”

-”She was walking off in that direction earlier.” Mrs. Moore answered as she pointed in the direction they went. “Rodney and Issac went after her, but that was half an hour ago, and I don't know where they went.

-”Did Luz appear to be in a trance” Willard asked.

-”I don't know.” Mrs. Moore answered. “She was facing the other way, so I couldn't see her face.”

-”I think I know what's happening, and if I'm correct, Luz, Rodney, and Issac are in grave danger.” Willard responded as the others gasped. “I think I know where they might be, and I hope I'm not too late.” Willard cried out as he started running towards the seaside cave. Willard noticed the others running along with him. “The rest of you should stay behind. If I am correct, this will be dangerous, and I don't want anyone else to put themselves in danger.”

-”There's no way I'm letting my student be in any form of danger.” Eda shouted.

-”We're all coming with you.” Amity replied.

-”Very well then.” Willard responded. “I only pray that they're still in one piece by the time we find them.” They continue to run towards the cave, while Reni is preparing to finally feast on Luz and Rodney.

-”I know I wanted this younger human, since she looked like a much easier target.” Reni uttered. “However, I shall start with you boy.” Reni said as she picked Rodney up with one of her right hands.

-”Rodney!” Luz shouted.

-”I finally have the one whom I originally was denied because of that fool Willard.” Reni cried out. “Now, I have you, and you're all mine Rodney.” Reni said in a somewhat alluring tone. “I'm going to savor every moment I have you in my clutches Rodney. You are mine.” Reni continued to bring Rodney closer to her, but then she was hit by fireball. “What?” Reni shouted.

-”Take your claws off my best friend you monster.” Issac shouted as he was getting ready to use another spell against Reni.

-”Don't anger me boy.” Reni shouted in an enraged tone. “I've been waiting a long time for this, and anyone who tries to take this from me shall pay.”

-”Eat this you monster.” Issac cried out as he threw another fireball at her.

-”AWW!” Reni screamed as she dropped Rodney. Issac then used his plant magic to wrap Reni in vines. “You wont stop me. These humans are MINE.”

-”Want a bet?” Luz called out as she used an ice glyph to push Reni back.

-”Let's teach this overgrown arachnid some manners.” Issac cried out as the three prepared to use their magic against her.

-”You BRATS!” Reni screamed. “I will devour you all.”

-”Have a ball.” Rodney cried out as he used the fire talisman to hit Reni with a fireball. Luz then used a light glyph to to shine a bright flash in Reni's eyes as she screamed. Issac then used plant magic to produce a vine that he used to tie Reni by her legs, and have the vine shake her around, and also to hit her against the ground.

-”Great work Issac.” Luz called out. “Now let's finish this spider lady.” Issac continued to use the vine to slam Reni against the ground, and the others arrived at the seaside cave as they see the three of them fighting against Reni.

-”I was right.” Willard uttered.

-”What is that thing?” Gus cried out.

-”She's dangerous, that's what she is.” Willard replied.

-”It looks like the three of them are handling this pretty well though.” Eda remarked. Just as Reni was released from the vine, she was thrown onto a large drawn circle in the sand with an ice glyph.

-”So long you fanged beast.” Luz shouted as she activated the ice glyph, and a giant block of ice sent Reni flying into the air, far from where they were. She falls miles away in a swampy area as she gets back up.

-”They haven't seen the last of me.” Reni shouted. “I swear that those humans, especially that boy Rodney will be mine.” Just then she heard a sound from around her, and a large coil is moving around the swampy ground. A giant snake pops out, and chases after Reni as she screams in terror.

-”Hopefully that's the last we ever see of her.” Rodney said as he, Luz, and Issac were relived to still be alive.

-”That was impressive.” Willard uttered as the three of them noticed that the others were in the cave. “Last time I had to get rid of her.”

-”LAST TIME?” shouted the others.

-”You mean, she's come after Rodney before?” Eda commented.

-”Yes she did.” Willard replied.

-”We can fill them in on the details later.” Luz cried out. “Let's just get out of this place.”

-”You read my mind.” Rodney replied as they all left the cave.

Later that night, we see that everyone is at the Moore residence, and Luz, Rodney, and Issac had finished telling their story to everyone. “Whoa!” Gus responded.

-”Do you think this time Reni is gone for good?” Willow asked.

-”We don't know, but if she ever does come back for me, I'll be ready.” Rodney replied.

-”I'm proud of you my son.” Willard said as he approached Issac. “Thanks to your magic skills you were able to help Luz and Rodney, and had you not been there then they would have been eaten. I'm proud of your good nature and how you never want to hurt another living creature, but sometimes you have to defend yourself, and I am glad you finally came through with that.”

-”Thanks Pops!” Issac replied as he hugged his father. “I'm glad to have such a great dad who was a great teacher.”

-”Rodney!” Amity called out. “We all owe you an apology.”

-”That's right.” Willow added.

-”With how you risked your own life to protect Luz, you're clearly someone we can trust Rodney.” Eda said as she approached Rodney. “You truly are a really good person, and I'm sorry I ever doubted your character.” Eda patted Rodney's head. “I can't thank you enough for saving Luz.”

-”Thanks for those kind words Eda.” Rodney responded.

-”We only hope you can forgive us Rodney.” Willow said as she, Amity, Eda, King, Emira, and Edric had looks of shame.

-”It's all good.” Rodney replied. “I'm glad I was able to meet all of you, and you don't have to worry about your initial hesitance. I understand that with what recently happened that you're all scared for Luz's safety, and I can see why it would be hard to trust someone who just came out of the blue that you don't know. We're all good, and all I want from all of you is your friendship.”

-”Well, you got it.” Gus replied as all of them came up to Rodney to give him their hands as they all made a pact of friendship.

-”Now that we've gotten everything settled, who wants dinner?” Mrs. Moore asked.

-”Yes please!” Luz replied.

-”I'm starving.” King commented.

-”Even though Luz said there wouldn't be many guests tonight, I still went ahead and made enough food for all of you.” Mrs. Moore responded as we see that there's a large spread of food.

-”I cannot wait to have some authentic human cuisine.” Gus cried out.

-”Dig in everyone.” Rodney said as everyone went to get some food.

-”This chicken look amazing Mrs. Moore, and are these homemade fries?” Luz asked.

-”Yes they are Luz.” Mrs. Moore answered. “I made them completely from scratch out of potatoes. I never use those pre-packaged fries you see in stores.

-”I'm sure this will all go over well when your new restaurant opens in a few days.” Willard commented.

-”Restaurant?” everyone sans Willard, Issac, Mrs. Moore, and Rodney asked.

-”That's right.” Mrs. Moore replied. “We're opening a restaurant that serves human cuisine right here on the Boiling Isles.

-”That is AWESOME!” Gus cried out. “This is gonna be one of the coolest things to ever happen. I really gotta bring the Human Appreciation Society to eat there once it opens.”

-”I'm sure they'll love it.” Rodney replied.

-”I can't wait to have a little bit of home being served here.” Luz commented. Everyone continued to eat their dinner as everyone got to know Rodney and his mother better, and they all had a great evening. As time went by, it was time for everyone to leave, and the guests all departed the Moore residence.

-”Bye everyone.” Rodney called out.

-”Bye Rodney.” replied everyone.

-”We'll be sure to come by tomorrow to hangout some more.” Gus replied.

-”I'll take you to the library and show their comic book section.” Amity commented.

-”We'll also give you more guided tour of Bonesborough.” Willow said.

-”I definitely look forward to it.” Rodney responded as everyone waved goodbye, and everyone left for their homes. Luz, Eda, and King arrive at the Owl House, and everyone was happy to be home.

-”It's great to have met another human here on the Boiling Isles. “Luz said in an ecstatic tone. “I think life here has gotten so much cooler.”

-”Agreed!” Eda replied. “Having another human here can really show us more about human culture, and the fact that a human adult is here too only makes that so much better.”

-”I'm gonna head to bed. Goodnight everyone.” Luz called out as she headed upstairs.

-”Goodnight Luz!” said Eda, King, and Hooty in unison.

-”Don't let the night critters bite. Hoot! Hoot!” Hooty cried out. Luz arrives in her bedroom, and we see her in her PJs as she gets ready for bed.

-”I'm so glad everything worked out for the better today, and I am so ecstatic everyone accepted Rodney as part of our circle.” Luz said as she noticed a text from her mother.

-”How was camp today mi hija?” read the text as Luz responded.

-”Today was a great day mom.” Luz said to herself as she texted the same words. “I met an amazing new friend, and I think you'd really him. He's older than me, but he's really sweet, and if I had met him back home he would have easily become one of my best friends. We have a lot in common, and he and I have some shared interests we bonded over. I'm glad I met him, and he's going to make my stay here so much better. Buenas Noches Mama. Te quiero mucho.” Luz ended it with a smiley face, and she sent the text to her mother who was pleased to read what her daughter had texted her. Mrs. Noceda smiles as she puts her phone down, and gets ready to head to bed. Luz also puts her phone away, and falls asleep, happily awaiting the next day.
