Behind the Song // Stray Kids FF

Summary:

Your best friend Hyunwoo, a successful producer, has just gotten a huge opportunity to work with the K-pop group Stray Kids. You have worked with Hyunwoo before, and he knows just how much you love this group's songs, so he asked you to help him with this project. Of course, you accepted, and now it's time to see just how crazy things can get.

Notes:

Chapter Text

I was downtown walking down the sidewalk, it was slightly breezy and the sun was out shining bright. It wasn't hot, just... right.

As I walked onwards I realized I had already reached my destination, a little cafe on the corner of my favorite street (it was only my favorite because it was insanely aesthetic).

I pushed the door open, yellow light glowed on me from the ceiling as well as the bright light from outside. I chose to sit at the corner of the cafe, but next to the large window they had facing the street.

I pulled out my phone and started scrolling, somehow finding myself on one of my favorite groups, "Stray Kids", Instagram page.

Just as I was about to click their latest picture, the chair in front of me squeaked and someone sat down with a sigh. I looked up and made eye contact with no other than my older best friend, Hyunwoo.

I put my phone down so I could start a conversation "Hey Hyunnie, what's with the sigh?" I asked, pouting.

"I had a long day, I hope yours was well, puppy."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"...Yeah." He said, his eyes drifting away, already tired of reliving the day in his memories.

I encouraged him to go on.

"My company signed a new girl, which adds to my workload because now I have to produce songs for her too. Which wouldn't be that bad, but...she's a brat. I'll tell her that the song is a certain pitch but she'll change it because 'it sounds better''" He mocked her

"Or she'll mess with my equipment to make it sound 'better for her'. Or, and get this, she tells me how to do MY job! You're literally 17! I've been in this business for way longer than you! I KNOW how to do my job correctly!" He vented, the anger seeping out through his voice.

"Hyunnie... I'll pay today! If that makes you feel better. You always want me to pay anyways and save your money even though you make more than me..." I trailed off pouting.

"No. No. I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to act cute so I pay for it. You already offered, now go doofus." He giggled.

I scrunch my face at him, standing up to go pay for our drinks.

"An iced caramel macchiato please!" He told me as I walked away.

I stuck out my tongue and crossed my arms, playfully stomping away into line.

I quickly ordered "An iced caramel macchiato, regular, and an iced chai tea, regular as well please!" I said looking in my wallet getting out the change.

"Is that all?" I heard a soft feminine voice ask me. "yeah-" I said looking up with my hand outstretched with my change. I froze.

She was beautiful. Her blonde hair shined softly, her cheeks rose up high and her eyes squinted cutely as she smiled at me.

"Here's your change" She smiled.

I snapped out of the trance-like-state I was in and gently took the change, still looking at her. I backed up and walked over to the pick up area.

I snuck a glance back to Hyunwoo and he was wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. I rolled my eyes and face back towards the counter just in time for our drinks to come. "Here you go, enjoy!" The same girl said to me as she handed me our drinks. "Y-you too- wait I mean, uh, have a nice day" I said, stuttering and flustered. She smiled at me again, giggling a bit as my heart jumped out of my chest and I quickly walked back to the table glancing at her once more before I reached it.

"I think I may have just fallen in love..." I told Hyunwoo.

He laughed at me. "Ask for her number?"

"No she's way too pretty, she HAS to already be in a relationship." I said sadly.

Just as I said that a tall, young man walked into the cafe and went straight to the counter. "Hey, honey," He said to the girl. "Hi, baby," she said back to him.

I turned back to Hyunwoo pouting "I told you so."

"Oh come on, there's plenty of other fish in the sea." He tried to encourage me.

"But none as beautiful as that one..." I said dreamily looking at the girl once again before turning to Hyunwoo.

"What about those guys you like?" He said. "Stray Kids, I think?" He asked

"Oh... well, eight as beautiful as that one, but I'll never have a chance to meet those beautiful fish." I said, staring at my tea.

"Speaking of those 'fish'-" Hyunwoo looked at me as I perked up like a puppy.

"Yeah?" I said, looking up at him with wide eyes.

"Well, um, I have a chance to help produce a song with them-"

"WHAT?! That's CRAZY!" I nearly shouted, causing a couple people to look over at me.

He looked at those people and sheepishly apologized to them "Quiet! Let me finish! Jeez! Anyways, as I was saying, I have a chance to meet up with them and help them produce a song, and since you're pretty talented with that kind of stuff, catching the little things and all that, I was wondering if you'd like to help me?" He asked casually, his arms crossed across his chest and leaning back into his chair.

"YE-" He cut me off.

"ON one condition!" He looked at me sternly.

I looked up at him with a pouty face and puppy eyes. "Yes oppa?" I only ever call him that when I want something.

He squinted his eyes at me "You can't be a crazy fangirl. This is professional stuff. You gotta act professional"

"I promise!" I gave him a determined-aegyo-face and held out my pinky to him.

He gave me a wide smile and locked pinky's with me.

He suddenly stood up and came over to my side of the table and hugged me tight "OH MY GOD whY are you so goDDAMN CUTE?" He said as he kissed me all over the top of my head.

"Hyunnie!" I giggled.
