Nile looked at Joe and Nicky, who were sleeping in each other’s arms. Joe had used one of his legs to keep Nicky even closer to him. It was almost like his grip around Nicky had become even stronger since he saw the man he loved being shot in front of his eyes. It was almost like he was afraid of losing him and wanted to take in his scent just in case it would be gone forever when he woke.
“So, how long have they been in love?” Nile wanted to know and looked at Andy, who was looking for a bottle of whiskey in her backpack.
“Ever since they stopped killing each other, so close to a thousand years. If you listen closely, you will notice they also breathe like they were only one person! I guess that’s what a thousand years of love-making will do to you,” Andy replied and sat down on the ground with the bottle of whiskey. “So, how good are you at poker?”
Andy handed Nile a cup of whiskey before dealing the cards between them.
