Ginny opens the door to the Three Broomsticks. It’s dark and cosy inside. Behind the counter, she sees Madame Rosmerta clean glasses, as usual. She sits down at a table in the corner. The pub isn’t very full this time of the day, a gloomy Thursday afternoon in November. The streets are not yet crowded with witches and wizards doing their Christmas shopping, and the Hogwarts kids are all at school. Ginny examines the menu. A hand-spelled flyer announces a new drink special: Potato Pumpkin Cream Dream. That… sounds like a very bad idea.
Before she can read any further, the door opens again and Hermione strolls in. She looks around the room for a moment before she sees Ginny waving at her from the corner. She peels herself out of her thick scarf and coat and sits down opposite her with a wide grin on her face. A curl of her hair falls into her face.
“So, have you ordered anything yet?”
Ginny hands her the flyer.
“No, but look what I found! Doesn't this sound just perfect?”
Hermione reads the description of the autumn novelty, then looks up in disbelief – and when Ginny catches her expression, they both burst out laughing.
“But look, there’s more. Honey and Cinnamon Magic… Fennel and Fairy Dust Tea… Ugh, I can’t believe they still offer that. I hope it’s organic at least,” Hermione snorts.
Ginny looks at her with an affectionate grin as she comments on the different kinds of drinks.
“Oh, look! Fudge in a Cup. I’ll have that.”
Ginny laughs. „Then I’ll have Potter in a Pitcher. Just kidding, I’m having mint tea. With a shot. How’s Harry, by the way?”
“Oh, he’s fine! I was just there. He and Draco invited us for Christmas drinks.”
„Those two bougies,” Ginny laughs. “Just kidding. I look forward to it. Draco has an excellent liquor selection. And I haven’t seen those two in ages. But for now… we’re here.”
Hermione puts her hand on Ginny’s.
“Yes. Now we’re here.”
Madam Rosmerta has broken away from her conversation with Madam Hooch at the counter and comes swishing over to them in her sparkly dress.
“What can I get you two?”
