“Do you have to leave?”
Strong hands held tightly onto his hips, pushing their bodies closer.
“Yes,” Jeonghan smiled sweetly down at the man whose lap he was sitting on. “I’ll be back not long after the sun rises.” He cupped the round face, leaning down to kiss Seungcheol’s pouty lips.
“Want you here,” Seungcheol said quietly, voice thick and gruff. “Need you.” His hands had moved, squeezing Jeonghan’s ass shamelessly.
“You disappear for multiple days around full moon, you don’t get to complain.”
“But I invite you along! Why can’t I come with you too? I wanna see you.”
Jeonghan shook his head. “No, you don’t. We’re not as sexy as popular media likes to portray us.”
“Hannie, I literally turn into a hairy wolf man once a month, I think I can handle it.”
“Not happening.” Not tonight.
Seungcheol pouted again, looking like a petulant child who hadn’t gotten his will. “I wish-“
There was a knock on the door to their dorm, a soft “hyung” accompanying it.
“I’ll be there soon, Minnie!” Jeonghan focused back on the man under him. “What were you saying?”
Pursing his lips, Seungcheol shook his head. “Go to Seokmin, we can talk in the morning.”
There was a brief silence as Jeonghan looked into his boyfriend’s eyes, trying to read the emotions. He found reassurance there. “Okay, tomorrow.” He leaned down to claim the soft lips in a short, but passionate kiss. “Sleep well.”
“Have fun.”
-
“Do we wanna go to the usual spot?”
“Yeah, easier that way,” Jeonghan said, eyes on the beach in front of them. It was dark and they had just finished paying for overnight parking.
“Seungcheol wants to see my other form.” Out of habit he grabbed Seokmin’s hand as the two walked down the beach, aiming for the small rocky area where they could hide their clothes.
“Mingyu too,” Seokmin sounded tired. “But wood nymphs are- ugh. I can’t. Ever.”
Wood nymphs tended to be a little shallow, even cowardly.
“He might not be,” Jeonghan offered, squeezing the hand tighter. “Soonyoung is the sweetest, most accepting person ever and he is a wood nymph too.”
“Yeah but Soonyoung terrifies Mingyu. That already says a lot, doesn’t it.” He spoke in a pout, a hint of insecurity in the soft voice.
They had reached the rocks, their hands parting so they could undress.
Jeonghan faced Seokmin, saw the worry in the pretty face. He was glad his eyes were designed to see in the dark. “Sweetie, he is head over heels for you. Don’t think about it too much.”
Jeonghan put his clothes in his small bag, fitting it between two rocks before grabbing Seokmin’s bag out of the younger man’s hands and squeezing it into the same place.
“Ready?” He pulled Seokmin into a hug, uncaring of their nudity and even placed a gentle peck on a soft cheek.
“Yeah.”
Jeonghan parted and allowed a wide grin to spread. “Last one in the water is a rotten egg.” He started running immediately, giggling to himself as he heard Seokmin yell behind him.
“Unfair, hyung!”
Jeonghan submerged first, his body instantly changing. He felt himself grow longer, his legs melting together and growing wider, sharp fins shooting out of his back.
He still looked like himself. Just more scaly and green.
Seokmin had caught up to him too, glaring at Jeonghan. Underwater they looked so similar in build and form, although Jeonghan’s torso was slightly smaller.
He grinned towards the younger siren, all his sharp, deadly teeth on full display.
It was time to hunt.
A fun game between the two, seeing who could claim the largest prey as they fed. The bigger, the better.
They set off, swimming deeper into the ocean, allowing their instincts to take over as the waters grew darker, but they were both playful people and there had been a few friendly pushes.
Jeonghan wasn’t ashamed of his form, he himself thought they looked beautiful, but as his jaws opened wide and he swallowed a mackerel whole, he was reminded of how they were terrifying predators.
Their mouths, their teeth, even their throats which could expand to fit their prey.
Built to consume, tear, kill.
He had to ease his boyfriend into it, but one day he would proudly show his second form.
-
“Hyung, stop pouting.”
Jeonghan had lost. He hated losing. His giant tuna could not hold a candle to the killer whale Seokmin had brought back.
“How did you manage to get one without the whole pack coming for you?” Orcas were notorious for being family oriented.
“Found it alone. Luck to be honest, probably shunned and left to fend for itself.”
Jeonghan huffed again, folding his arms as he stared at the road ahead. They were driving back in the early mornings, stomachs full and body thrumming after the excitement of swimming and hunting.
“You’re coming to my performance tonight, right?” Seokmin asked as they reached the University.
“Of course.” Jeonghan never missed a single one. He loved listening to Seokmin sing, be it his siren song or his human voice. The car came to a stop. “See you tonight, little one.”
“See you! Say hi to Cheollie hyung from me!”
“I will.”
Minutes later he reached the dorm, tearing off all his clothes and falling down onto the bed, determined to catch a few hours before he had to meet up with Seungkwan for the coffee date he had agreed to. The fairy would complain and mother him if he didn’t look rested enough. The daily texts reminding him to take vitamins was already more than enough mothering.
“Welcome home,” Seungcheol murmured, opening his arms and allowing Jeonghan to push his cold, naked body against his. Werewolves were always warm. He snuggled closer, breathing in the familiar scent of his boyfriend. Despite being a creature of the cold, deep sea, Jeonghan would easily freeze in his human form. Seungcheol’s natural heat was always welcome.
“You’re singing. You must be happy.”
Oh, Jeonghan hadn’t noticed it, hadn’t meant to hum his siren song.
“I’m always happy in your arms.”
“Cheesy.”
“But true.”
Seungcheol hugged him tighter and Jeonghan’s eyes fluttered close, feeling safe and loved.
