Work Text:

Kaeya woke up with the sun shining brightly on his face. As he rubbed his eyes and adjusted them to the sudden light coming from his window, he remembered what day it was. Today was the first day of the Windblume Festival. A special Mondstadt tradition that only happens once a year. It's a festival that celebrates love and freedom. All the people of Mondstadt usually wait around this time of year to confess to the people they love and celebrate the freedom they have in Mondstadt.

This year was specifically special to Kaeya because he was the guest of honor in one of the Windblume festivities, the Windblume Festival Love Wheel. A wheel that picks one lucky lady to spend the whole day with the guest of honor. Since Kaeya was nominated in the Windblume Festival this year, he had to make sure to be ready for his date with one of the girls.

As Kaeya was getting ready for the day, he heard a knock on the door. He turned his head towards the door and called for the person to enter. Standing in the doorway was the Acting Grand Master herself, Jean.

"Good morning, Kaeya. I was just coming in to check on you. I wanted to make sure you were getting ready for today's Windblume Festival." She held a cup of tea in her hand and set it on Kaeya's vanity, smiling at him.

"Thank you, Master Jean. I'm currently getting ready. I want to look extra special for whichever lucky lady gets chosen." Kaeya says while applying a bit of makeup on his face. He turns to Jean and playfully winks at her.

"They'll be charmed, I'm sure," Jean replies jokingly. "Just make sure you arrive on time. You wouldn't want to keep the girls waiting." She waves and exits the room, not wanting to disturb Kaeya while he gets ready.

Once the Acting Grand Master exits the room, Kaeya continues applying makeup. He adjusts his eyepatch and ties his hair into the usual side ponytail. He then starts rummaging through his wardrobe to find the perfect outfit for the day. Kaeya dresses himself in a flowy, white button-up with black trousers that fit his slim figure nicely. He looks in the mirror satisfied with his appearance. He quickly heads out of his room to eat breakfast, not wanting to be late. While eating, he looks at the clock and realizes it's almost time for the Windblume Festival to begin its festivities. He sets his dishes in the sink and makes his way to the Windblume Festival Love Wheel.

While outside, Kaeya couldn't help but notice all the beautiful flowers gliding through the wind as he walked to his destination. With the Windblume Festival going on, you won't see a single place in Mondstadt that's not decorated for the occasion. Kaeya continues to walk towards the plaza, taking in all the scenery. Flowers strung up as decorations, beautiful ribbons, and mouthwatering smells surrounded him as he walked through the town. Kaeya sometimes wished that the Windblume festival would never end, but then again, that wouldn't make it much of a special occasion.

Kaeya finally makes his way to the Love Wheel, which is placed in front of the fountain near Good Hunter. It was a huge wheel containing about 100 numbers. Kaeya looked at it with awe. He had never seen the wheel up close and he had certainly never seen so many women enter the Love Wheel before. Kaeya had guessed it was because he was the guest of honor this year, which was correct, but he discarded the thought and looked out at the crowd of ladies.

In front of the wheel stood almost 100 girls. All of them patiently waiting for the Love Wheel to start spinning. The time finally rolls around for the Acting Grand Master to begin the Windblume festivities. Jean walks in front of the wheel and announces the guest of honor for this year's Love Wheel.

"Everybody, please welcome the guest of honor, Sir Kaeya!" She sticks out her hands to reveal Kaeya. He walks in front of the Love Wheel and stands beside Jean. Kaeya waves at all the girls in front of him and smiles, hoping to charm them. As expected, most of them fell for his charm and started swooning where they stood.

Jean begins to announce how the Love Wheel works for everyone in the crowd.

"When I begin to spin the Love Wheel, a random number will be chosen. When the wheel has stopped spinning, please look at your tickets. If you have the lucky number, I'd like you to step forward and show us your ticket for proof. Once proven that you are in fact the lady chosen, you will get to spend a whole day with the guest of honor, Sir Kaeya!"

The crowd in front of the wheel began to cheer and jump up and down in excitement. Kaeya once again looked out among the crowd, beginning to feel nervous. Jean looked at Kaeya and nodded, signaling to him that she was about to spin the wheel. She slowly raised her hand to the wheel and spun it. The ladies all fell silent as the wheel spun. The only noise that could be heard was the ticking of the peg on the Love Wheel and the wind.

As the wheel spun, Kaeya felt an uneasiness in his stomach. He was nervous. In reality, he really didn't have much interest in women. It's true that he's messed around with a lot of different women, but now things were different. He had his eyes set on one person in particular. The Chief Alchemist. Who would've guessed? A short, soft-spoken genius that gave Kaeya butterflies. Albedo was the only one who could make Kaeya feel such a thing. Because of that, Kaeya was drawn to him. He wanted to know everything about that little alchemist. Kaeya was determined to make Albedo fall for him, the same way he fell for that short, blonde beauty. Recently, Kaeya had spent a lot of time with Albedo, hoping to get closer to him. It seemed to be working, but there's no telling with that alchemist. Kaeya knew it would be this way though, so he refused to give up. Still, Kaeya was upset. He knew that he wouldn't be able to spend a day with Albedo because of the Love Wheel.

When Jean had asked Kaeya if he wanted to participate in the Love Wheel this year, he hesitated, but he knew that saying no would let down a lot of ladies in Mondstadt. He was just so charming, the girls couldn't resist! They would do anything to have Kaeya nominated as the guest of honor for the Love Wheel. So with that in mind, he accepted Jean's offer. Even though deep down he knew that he wasn't interested in this type of festivity.

After snapping out of his thoughts, Kaeya quickly looked at the wheel which had just stopped spinning. The peg hit the number 68. All the girls looked down at their tickets. Some let out deep signs, others looked around in anticipation to see who the lucky girl was. Jean called out the number to make sure everyone knew which one it was.

"Number 68! If you have the number 68 on your ticket please come forward! We'll look at your ticket and then you can spend the rest of the day with Sir Kaeya." Jean shouted out to the crowd.

Kaeya stood there anxiously, waiting to see who the girl was. He noticed the crowd started to separate and make a small path for someone coming down the middle. As everyone moved out of the way, you could hear small gasps and people glaring at the girl with jealous eyes.

"I seem to be number 68." A short, dirty-blonde girl approached the Love Wheel.

Kaeya blushed slightly at the sight of her. She reminded him of the person he was interested in, although he tried not to compare the two.

"There you are! Please hand me your ticket while I confirm that you are number 68." Jean took the ticket from the girl's hand and inspected it. "Yes, this seems to be number 68!" She said with a smile on her face.

"Congratulations! You get to spend a whole day with Sir Kaeya! I hope everything goes well between you two, and most importantly, I hope you both enjoy yourselves today!" Jean smiles at the two standing in front of the Love Wheel. "As for the rest of you ladies, I wish you better luck next time! Don't forget to enter again next year. Happy Windblume Festival everyone! I hope you enjoy it!" She smiles and waves goodbye as everyone walks away from the Love Wheel.

Kaeya looked into the girl's eyes, seeing a familiar blue color. He examined her and smiled to himself. The anxiousness he was feeling earlier faded away.

"You're gorgeous." He said while staring at the short, dirty-blonde girl.

"Ah, I'm sorry. That was very sudden of me." Kaeya tries to apologize but gets cut off by the girl standing beside him. She let out a small chuckle. Kaeya looked at her, surprised that he made her laugh.

"Sir Kaeya, don't apologize. Thank you for the compliment, you're very kind." She smiled, a slight tint of red spread across her cheeks.

Kaeya looked at the girl in front of him, the expression on her face was one he wouldn't forget so easily. He chuckled softly. "Well, I'm glad I got paired with someone like you today-" Kaeya stopped in the middle of his sentence and remembered he forgot to ask for the lady's name.

"Oh! How inconsiderate of me... I forgot to ask for your name!" He turned and looked at her while taking her hand.

The girl looked at Kaeya with a bit of worry on her face. "My name? It's Al...Alexandra, of course!" She smiled at Kaeya.

"Ah, a beautiful name for a beautiful lady. I'm glad I met you, Alexandra." Kaeya slowly raises her hand to his lips and gently kisses it.

"Thank you for all the compliments. You really are quite the charmer." Alexandra says with a bit of pink on her cheeks.

"Well, what can I say? Nobody can resist my charm." Kaeya laughs at his own words, feeling proud of himself for making Alexandra blush.

The two sat on a bench in front of the fountain, getting to know each other. Kaeya had his arm over the bench, leaning back slightly. He was listening to everything Alexandra was saying. He loved hearing her voice, it was soft and soothing. Kaeya thought about how similar Alexandra and Albedo were. They both had the same interests and hobbies. They both had beautiful blue eyes. Eyes that you could gaze into for eternity. The way she spoke reminded him of Albedo. A calm voice, full of kindness. Kaeya ended up falling into a deep trance looking into Alexandra's eyes. All he could think about was Albedo.

"Ah, Sir Kaeya?" Alexandra looked at the man sitting beside her with a curious expression.

Kaeya softly shook his head, coming back to reality. He looked at Alexandra and chuckled softly. "I'm sorry. I must've dozed off for a minute there."

Alexandra gave Kaeya a small smile. "Oh, it's alright. I thought I was boring you."

Kaeya shook his head and stood up, holding out his hand. "Of course you weren't bothering me, my lady." Alexandra took Kaeya's hand and stood up. "Now, how about we go do a few things before it gets too late." Kaeya proposed.

"I'd like that," Alexandra replies softly with a nod.

Kaeya gave her a smile in return. He took Alexandra's arm and hooked it onto his. She slightly blushed and looked to the side. Kaeya began to walk around Mondstadt with Alexandra, hoping something would catch her eye.

As the two walked around, Kaeya and Alexandra heard whispers from the townsfolk. A lot of ladies were jealous. They couldn't escape the evil glares they were getting. Kaeya didn't mind it, he knew this would happen, but Alexandra seemed to be worried. Kaeya looked down at her and smiled.

"Don't listen to any of the things they are saying, Alexandra. Most of them are jealous they weren't picked." Kaeya looked out among the crowds of people in Mond. He saw the flower shop and smiled to himself.

"What about the others? If they aren't jealous, then what are they upset about?" Alexandra said suddenly.

Kaeya stopped Alexandra and looked at her. "Oh, well they are jealous too. Not because they didn't win, but because of how beautiful you are." Kaeya smiled, gazing into her eyes. "My, that Alexandra is so gorgeous. If only I was that beautiful- maybe I would be chosen!" He imitates a woman from the crowd.

Alexandra chuckles softly. "Ah, thank you very much, Sir Kaeya. You've made me feel a lot better." She gives Kaeya a gentle smile, causing him to blush and look away.

"It's no problem. I'm just saying what needs to be said." He chuckles softly and continues walking towards the flower shop.

When they arrived, Kaeya looked for a specific flower. He looked at all of them and smiled when he finally found the flower he wanted.

"Two cecilias, please," Kaeya said while taking mora from his pocket. He handed it to the shopkeeper and took the cecilias from her hand.

Kaeya turned to Alexandra, who was looking around at the people walking around Mondstadt. They all seemed very happy and excited about the festival. She had never seen people filled with so much joy before. She smiled, feeling someone tap her on the shoulder. Alexandra quickly turned around. Kaeya was standing there with two cecilias in his hand. He smiled at her, brushing the hair in her face behind her ear.

"These are for you." He said softly as he gently placed the two flowers in her hair. "These flowers are beautiful. It has a name that suits its appearance, don't you think?" He smiled, gazing into Alexandra's eyes.

Alexandra's face flushed. She couldn't help it when Kaeya looked at her like that. "I agree, cecilias are very wonderful. Thank you." She slowly backed up after noticing how close Kaeya was standing in front of her.

Kaeya broke away from his trance, watching as she moved away. "Ah, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to stare. It's just- your eyes are so beautiful. I couldn't help but be pulled into them." He chuckled softly.

"Oh, I see. It's alright." Alexandra gave Kaeya a small smile.

While the two were talking, more people noticed them around town. They began to gossip and give Alexandra mean glares. Alexandra ignored them, but it was beginning to become overwhelming.

Kaeya looked at Alexandra, noticing the uneasiness from her expression. He glanced at all the people around them. He sighed before taking her hand. "Why don't we head out somewhere more open? I feel like we both would enjoy some fresh air." Kaeya smiled at Alexandra, taking her hand.

Alexandra nodded her head and began following Kaeya out of Mondstadt.

❄️🌻

The two of them walked along a small dirt path, one that was very familiar to Kaeya. He had walked up this path many times before to visit Albedo. It was Albedo's favorite spot, especially when he felt like sketching. Kaeya looked at Alexandra and squeezed her hand a bit, tightening his hold. Alexandra looked so beautiful. Her eyes shimmering in the sunlight, the way her skin glistened, and how her hair fell perfectly into place. Everything about her was mesmerizing.

"Sir Kaeya, you're staring again. Is something wrong?" Alexandra looked over at Kaeya with a concerned expression.

"Ah... I'm sorry. Nothing is wrong." Kaeya responded and kept walking up the path to Starsnatch cliff. Alexandra nodded and continued along the path with Kaeya.

When they finally made it up the path, Kaeya took Alexandra near the cliff and sat down. He patted the spot next to him, signaling for her to sit down. Alexandra noticed and walked over to him. She sat down beside him, looking out at the beautiful scenery.

Kaeya looked down at his feet. He quickly looked back up and sighed. He was about to say something but hesitated. Alexandra looked at him and frowned. "Are you alright?" She asked in a soft, gentle voice.

"Why are you wearing a silly disguise?" Kaeya looked up at Alexandra, with a confused expression.

Alexandra stayed quiet for a second, slowly looking down in her lap. It was silent for a moment until a slight chuckle could be heard from her.

"Ah, so you've known from the beginning?" Albedo looked at Kaeya with a small smile. "And here I thought I was hiding my identity pretty well..." He said jokingly.

Kaeya chuckled and looked at Albedo, gazing into his eyes.

"Did you really think I would say all those nice things to someone who wasn't you? I've known from the beginning, that is true." Kaeya took Albedo's hand. "I wanted to play along though, I thought it'd make you feel better in the end." He chuckled softly.

Albedo's cheeks had a slight tint of pink. "I see. Thank you for playing along. Though, I was getting tired of keeping up this fake identity. I don't think dresses suit me very well." Albedo picked up the end of his dress.

"Why did you go through all this trouble? I don't quite understand that bit. I've been trying to piece it together this entire day. What if you weren't the one chosen?" Kaeya threw a couple of questions at Albedo, hoping to receive an explanation.

"Well, to be completely honest... I'm not sure why I went through all this trouble. I suppose, seeing you spend time with someone else hurts me. I don't really understand this feeling, but it's not something I enjoy." Albedo sighed before continuing. "And, well... to answer your other question, I'm not exactly sure what I would've done. I didn't plan ahead that far. I suppose I'm lucky, aren't I?" Albedo looked out upon all the trees.

Kaeya's eyes widened. "You mean to tell me you were... jealous?" Kaeya looked at Albedo in disbelief.

"Yes, that would be the correct term." Albedo turned his head towards Kaeya.

Kaeya's face instantly turned into a large smile. He hesitated for a second but leaned in for a hug. "I'm very happy to hear that."

Albedo didn't understand why Kaeya was excited to hear that, but he returned the hug. He rested his head on Kaeya's shoulder and closed his eyes, letting the wind blow on his face. He felt comfort in Kaeya's arms. Albedo let out a small sigh and melted into the hug. Kaeya blushed slightly and held onto Albedo, not wanting to let go.

"I'm sure you already know this, but you mean a lot to me, Albedo. You're wonderful. Honestly, in my eyes, you're the perfect human. Not a single flaw. Your eyes are a beautiful shade of blue. I could gaze into them forever if you'd let me. Your hair falls perfectly on your face. Your skin glimmers in the sun, so beautiful and soft. Your voice is soft, calm, relaxing. I could listen to it all day. Just hearing you talk makes my heart skip a beat. You're a talented artist, everything you paint leaves me in awe. How could someone be so talented? Not to mention, you are a living genius. There is nothing you can't piece together. Albedo, you're amazing. When I see you I instantly feel nervous. You give me butterflies and you make me feel all flustered! You're the only one who has ever been able to make me genuinely feel this way. I want to give you the world and more..." Kaeya rambles on while holding Albedo, blushing through the entire thing. He couldn't look at Albedo while saying this, it would embarrass him too much.

Albedo quietly raises his head and breaks away from the hug. He looks at Kaeya, tears falling down his face. Kaeya looks at Albedo with a worried expression, filled with regret.

"I-I didn't mean to say all that, or make you upset! I-" Kaeya was cut off by Albedo, who had gently took his hand and intertwined their fingers.

"Thank you, Kaeya. I never knew you thought so highly of me. I do not have the words to describe how I feel..." Albedo sat in silence for a moment before looking at Kaeya. He wiped the tears from his cheeks and gave Kaeya and gentle smile.

Albedo turned towards Kaeya and leaned his face closer. "I hope this can describe how I feel." The blonde slowly brought his face closer to Kaeya and placed a soft kiss on the other man's lips.

Kaeya was in shock, his head spinning. He thought Albedo was upset with him, but it turned out it was the exact opposite. Albedo felt the same way. Kaeya blushed and brought his hand up to Albedo's head, deepening their kiss.

Once Albedo broke away, taking a few breaths, he gazed into Kaeya's eyes, blushing. "I enjoy our time together, Kaeya. I'm sad when we are separated. I've never felt this way before. I used to think interaction with others was a waste of time. But after meeting you, I'd rather spend my time on you than other matters." Albedo paused for a second, almost embarrassed to finish what he was saying. "So can you also... give me more of your time?"

Kaeya froze, not wanting to move. He gazed back at Albedo, bringing his hand up to the other boy's cheek. Kaeya caressed it and gave Albedo a gentle smile.

"I'd be more than happy to give you all of my time, Albedo." Kaeya leaned closer to Albedo, placing a soft kiss on his forehead.

Albedo's cheeks turned pink. He gave Kaeya a smile and scooted closer to him. He looked out at the scenery. Trees swaying in the wind, flowers and small petals gliding through the air, the wind blowing through his hair. Everything about this moment was perfect, and it was even better having Kaeya by his side. He squeezed the hand that Kaeya was still holding onto, then Albedo laid his head on Kaeya's shoulder.

Kaeya smiled to himself and kissed the top of the alchemist's head. He looked out at the scenery with Albedo. They sat in comfortable silence, not wanting to break away from each other. Secretly, both of them wished this moment would last forever.

"Happy Windblume, Albedo." Kaeya said, resting his head on top of the blonde beside him, as they watched the sun slowly start to set.
