Chapter Text
Jungkook’s a member of a boyband or a k-pop male group. Had he ever dreamed of becoming an idol? The answer would be no. All he wanted was to live peacefully with no worries or regrets, but he could only stay away from human society for a certain amount of time, he craved the emotions that came from knowing and interacting with people, even if it went against his most rational thinking, what good could he gain from living amongst humans? He had learned the hard way that humans weren’t as understanding as they seem.
And yet every time he hoped for things to be different, for finding someone who understood him and accepted him the way he was.
When a friend of his mentioned a rumor circulating amongst them, about vampires infiltrating the k-pop industry and actually doing great, it piqued his interest. So he decided to talk to those vampires already in the industry, and although he wasn’t particularly active in the Vampiric society, he still held a certain level of rank, he was one of the eldest vampires around, and no one denied him an invitation to talk over a drink. After a thorough investigation he arrived at the decision that he’d give it a try, worst came to worst, he’d just have to withdraw from human society for a couple of years more.
Disguised with glamour magic that made him look younger, 13 years old to be precise, he auditioned for several entertainment companies. He had to look young because that would give him a better chance to be accepted, looking and sounding like a 13-year-old baffled him, still, he was confident of his singing.
When he heard back from several companies asking him to join them, he wasn’t sure which one would be best, that was until he was shown a video from a trainee in one of the companies -Big Hit- the trainee’s name was Kim Namjoon, stage name: Rap Monster. Something about the young human drew him in, the passion and energy he poured into his rapping, it felt like nothing he had ever experienced. So the decision was made, he joined Big Hit.
Becoming a trainee came with difficulties, even more so for him. Living together with a group of young humans in a small place, having to share every space leaving no room for privacy made it difficult to keep his human image. He could barely sneak out every now and then to get his blood supply and to drink it, at least there wasn’t much need to spend time under the sun, not that it was dangerous, just uncomfortable. He had to build an entire charade about his persona, hired actors to pass as his family, a background story about his upbringing and hometown, and as he kept going he’d just made up more lies to the point he had to keep a record of everything.
They had dance and singing classes and periodic evaluations, and although he hadn’t started his training with a pure dream unlike his peers, he came to love it, he poured his everything into the training, he became a witness to trainees leaving and new faces arriving. Until the people in charge decided on a seven members male group.
The group’s name is Bangtan Sonyeondan, seven members: Kim Seokjin - Jin, Min Yoongi - Suga, Jung Hoseok - J-Hope, Kim Namjoon - RM, Park Jimin - Jimin, Kim Taehyung - V and Jeon Jungkook - Jungkook, his made up age made him the maknae of the group. Unexpectedly, he has found a family in them, a feeling he hadn’t experienced before, not even back in the day when he was still a human. They care for each other and look after each other, after a couple of years together they understand each other, it took a while for Jungkook to get used to it, and after a little work from everyone else he was able to feel at ease. This makes it more difficult for him to keep his secret, he’s scared of being rejected.
Jungkook’s grateful for their group’s success, getting to travel overseas to tour, promote their music, and being invited to perform in music awards shows outside of Korea, but it doesn’t make it easier for him, he’s had to adjust to longer periods without drinking blood.
They’re back in their home, everyone’s tired from traveling, Jungkook’s own exhaustion goes unnoticed, but he knows he’s not only tired from traveling, but he also needs to drink a little blood. While everyone goes to their bedrooms, Jungkook fetches a flask with blood from his mini-fridge and locks himself in the bathroom, as he starts drinking he feels his fangs growing longer, his mind fogs, and everything around him blurs.
“Jungkook-ah! What the hell is going on!?”
Jugnkook stops drinking, and the voice sends a shiver down his spine. He’s cold sweating. He closes his eyes and curses in his thoughts. The voice belongs to Yoongi. And it has traces of surprise and horror. Jungkook’s back is facing Yoongi, before he turns around he closes the flask’s lid and places it on the sink. He rubs his face with both hands, hoping his look doesn’t come across as too rough. He turns around, and his heart sinks when he looks Yoongi in the eye.
