Work Text:
They watched how Venti strummed the lyre in front of a crowd, smiling softly as they listened to the songs he sang. The tune being carried by the wind, attracting more people with his prowess. They recall the times when the bard would often playfully tease the other, when he would whine to them about how Diluc didn't give him wine that day.
They sighed contently, gazing at Venti with a look so soft it seemed out of character for them. Venti finished his song and made his way to them, whose heart started beating faster than ever and started hearing a slight ringing in their ears.
They knew what they were feeling and hated yet loved it to bits. They snapped out of that state, seeing Venti look at them with a teasing gaze and huffed at him. "What?"
Venti playfully flinched at their tone before poking them on the cheek. "I should be the one asking you that. You were the one staring earlier."
They huffed and turned away, glaring at the bard clad in green who only cheekily smiled in return before muttering something along the lines of, "you have no idea what you're talking about."
Venti hummed, obviously not believing that. "You're absolutely smitten ."
Why does this bard have this strong of an effect on them? They wondered as they felt like they were overheating. Venti watched their significant other in amusement before tackling them in a hug, a grin on his face as he watched their face embody embarrassment and confusion. "Wh-what the hell are you-!"
"I love you, y'know that?" Venti said so softly, the wind wouldn't be able to pick up on it. They gently smiled before returning the hug, too soft, too smitten, too in love to even deny that.
" I love you too, Venti ."
