Work Text:
“Mr. Wild, a minute?”
Link looked up from cleaning the muddied boots of his son, Vio, to see Ms. Zelda’s soft smile shining on him. Hastily, he wiped his hands on his jeans to accept an envelope from her.
“Last week you were worried about Vio’s language development. I wrote a small report. He’s all good.” She crouched down to the boy. “You gotta rock school, promise?”
“Are we going to learn about volcanoes there? I love lava! Daddy always lets me watch videos about volcanoes when he has a video call from work.”
“Vio!”
“Sure you do,” she laughed, raising.
“It’s…” Vio counted on his fingers, “five more weeks, right? You know, I’m gonna miss you.” He leaned forward, secretively hiding his mouth. “And Daddy said he’s going to miss your smile!”
“Vio!!!” Link groaned. It was bad enough that he had a crush on his son's kindergarten teacher; there was absolutely no need to tell her!
Ms. Zelda whispered in Vio’s ear, loud enough for Link to let his heart skip.
“You think I should ask him out?”
Vio covered his mouth with both hands, snickering. “I think he would like that!”
“You bet he would.” Link grinned.
