"Hell yeah movie night!" The miniature cowboy crows as he finishes the climb up to the counter of the welcome center desk "what are we watchin' tonight Gigantor?".
"Well I brought one of Nickie's favorite Disney movies" Larry said as he showed the miniatures the case cover.
"Aladdin? Is this movie good?" Octavius asked curiously.
"I enjoyed it a lot and I think you guys will too" Larry smiled as he popped the CD into the DVD player. The rest of the museum were getting into their usual movie watching places, some of them grabbing snacks to enjoy.
Once everyone was settled, Larry hit play and the movie began. As the movie played everyone seemed to enjoy it, Jedediah being partial to the fight scenes and Octavius favoring the romance scenes.
Things were going great till the end of the movie came. Jafar put Jasmine in an hour glass and sand began to fall on her. At seeing this Jedediah seemed to stop breathing entirely and his gaze went out of focus.
At first Octavius didn't notice, too wrapped up in if Aladdin will save his love. He soon realized something was wrong when his cowboy friend did not give any excitable reactions to the fighting. He looked over and noticed that the man's tanned complexion had gone sickly pale. It only took him a moment to remember the hour glass that Jedediah had nearly perished in and he cursed himself for not realizing sooner.
"Jedediah, look at me" Octavius said softly as he placed his hand on the other's shoulder. No reaction was given and Octavius got up and moved to crouch in front of Jedediah.
"Focus on me, not the movie, you are not in that hour glass" Octavius spoke again as he tried to get the frontier man's eyes on him.
Larry noticed the movement out of the corner of his eye and he looked down. "Hey, you guys okay?" He asked quietly.
Octavius looked up at Larry and said "we shall retire early, Jedediah is not feeling well".
"You guys can get sick?" Larry asked curiously as he laid his hand down.
"We occasionally have periods of time where we feel poorly but I assure you it is nothing to worry about" Octavius told the human as he helped Jedediah onto Larry's hand and the man lowered them down to the car.
"Well alright then, if you need any help then let me know" Larry said as Octavius helped Jedediah into the car.
"Thank you for your concern, enjoy the rest of the night Larry" Octavius called before driving off.
That gave Larry pause, Octavius rarely called him by his first name no matter how many times he told the miniature he didn't have to refer to him with such formal titles.
Octavius cast occasional worried glances at Jedediah as he drove. He was a much more careful driver than his friend so he wasn't swerving around or taking sharp turns. Octavius parked the car under the bench in the miniature exhibit and the two sat there in silence.
It seemed like a long time before Jedediah took a shuddering breath and seemed to come back to the present. He looked around in confusion then looked at his best friend "is movie night over already?".
"I believe our companions are in the middle of the second movie of the night, I excused us from the festivities because you seemed unwell" Octavius explained then paused and studied the man "how are you feeling?".
Jedediah snorted and waved the roman off "why you askin' me such a question?".
"Because you stopped breathing during the hourglass scene of Aladdin" Octavius said sternly then softened his tone when he saw Jedediah tense "why did you not tell me that such an event was still affecting you?".
"And what could you of done had I told you?" Jedediah snapped, frustrated with the whole thing.
"I could have helped you not feel trapped and alone" Octavius told him.
"Well I was and that ain't gonna go away no matter how much talkin' I do" Jedediah huffed and got out of the car.
"Jedediah, please talk to me" Octavius called as he got out of the car and ran after the other miniature "you would not let me be by your side then so allow me to be by you now".
"I don't need to do no talkin'! I just need to forget the whole thing" Jedediah growled, throwing his hat down on the ground.
"You know as well as I that such an event will not just go away if you try not to think of it" Octavius frowns "such events shape us into the men we were destined to become".
"You sayin' I'm destined to be a weak nobody that always needs savin'?" Jedediah asked, his voice dangerously low as his bangs shadowed his eyes.
"What? Not at all!" Octavius exclaimed in surprise "is that why you are behaving so hostile? You feel weak and helpless? You are far from such things!".
Jedediah blinked in surprise at the answer and looked over at the other.
"You are one of the bravest men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and fighting by your side is an honor" Octavius said firmly "to call you weak or fragile is an insult of the highest order! Had you not sacrificed yourself and allowed me to flee we would have lost that fight, it was only because of your bravery and nobility that I was able to find the aid of the giant stone man, you are the reason we won against Kahmunrah".
"Well… geez partner, keep blowin' smoke like that I might catch on fire" Jedediah mumbled as he stooped to pick up his hat and hide his reddening face.
"I speak not but the truth my friend, you are worthy of being dubbed a hero" Octavius said solemnly "if you ever feel this way again, please tell me".
"Alright…. But only cause I like havin' you talk so highly about me" Jedediah teased with a smirk.
"Yes… Well… ahem let us not make a habit of this shall we?" Octavius cleared his throat and turned to head back to the car "would you like to return to movie night? I believe I heard that one of the movies will be about the west".
"Oh hell yeah partner!" Jedediah yelled and sped past Octavius "I'm driving!".
"But I wanted to drive!" Octavius called, running after him.
"You drive like a grandma!" Jedediah laughed.
“I shall take that as a compliment for it is the older generation who are quite wise!” Octavius shot back as he managed to reach the car the same time as Jedediah and the two began a shoving match to see who could make it in the driver's seat first.
