The song Smile for the Camera by Armor For Sleep was on a playlist I was listening to and I got an idea for a fic where Julie is the subject of the song, the boys are actually holograms, Luke’s parents are actors not sure what to do about Carlos is he really her brother or an actor
I was thinking of doing something like how in The Hunger Games movies we see the gamemakers controlling the games not just the point of view of Katniss. But primarily from that view during the first season with Julie finding out from a guilty feeling Luke at the end.

In a world where reality tv is banned The Armor For Sleep Network has developed a work around they find candidates for shows reprogram their minds to believe this is their reality and write no scripts just concepts and from the control center guide the supporting actors dialogue.
Assistant talking to a higher up:
Found a new canidate for our next big hit
She’s 15, parents died in a car accident leaving her with amnisia, very musically talented. Sounds perfect for the ghost musical show you’ve been developing
Okay bring her in for programming and let’s build and cast her world
