Work Text:
Not too long ago, you always found your life to be boring or as mundane as any corporate slave's life would be. Waking up as early as 6, getting ready for work, coming back home, going to sleep, and repeat. At that point of your life you would always find yourself thinking you might keep on repeating that routine of yours like you're some sort of programmed being. And you never woke up to anything special as well; unless it was for certain holidays or such. Not that much to look forward to either. Like you'd always believe that no other person could beat you when it comes to having a boring life. You admit, even if something interesting comes to you, you'd think that if you let some time pass you would soon lose interest in it. Not until a faithful day of you wanting to taste that tempting Café Au Lait that you saw on a poster last monday from a cafe near your work place.

The sound of your shoes pounded on the pavement as you marched your way to the cafe mentioned in the poster.
"Champ de Fleur" you thought to yourself. What an odd name for a cafe located in Japan. Maybe to attract customers? Regardless, you couldn't care about anything else besides savouring the tempting taste of their coffee.
The chimes attached to the cafe's door rang as you made your way in. At 7 in the morning not that much people were present. A good thing to consider instead of waiting in a line. Making your way to the counter, you noticed how all the antiques displayed on shelves nicely complemented the style the cafe was going for, like some sort of old-fashioned themed cafe.
Your eyes scanned the menu looking for the Cafe au Lait, checking if you brought enough money with you to pay for it. Looking at the price made you quite relieved that for a fashionable drink to be quite inexpensive. As you scanned the menu looking for a dish to go well with the coffee, you decide to get a slice of chocolate marble cake. And what you ordered was just simply for breakfast.
You also came to notice that there were actually stairs leading somewhere above the building. And not long for person with long blond locks made their way downstairs and bid the cafe's
manager a goodbye as he headed out. He looks like he's French in a way. You thought. Looking over to the person he greeted, a sudden gush of anxiety came over you as his appearance was quite intimidating. His face was displayed with a frown, and along with his tall and muscular build made you more anxious than ever. But the fact of you just wanting to order and taste the delicious coffee made you forget about those frightening thoughts.
You waved your hand, gesturing the cashier that you wanted to order. He made their way to your side of the counter and greeted you with a smile. Quite charming to say the least.
"Good morning. Are you ready to order?" he spoke in a quiet manner but enough for you to hear.
"Good morning. I would want to get a cup of your Café Au Lait and a slice of Chocolate Marble Cake." you exchanged. As he swiftly noted what you just said, he totalled the price for you to pay. "Very well. That would be ¥553." he said. As you fished for your wallet in you bag, your work id suddenly fell as soon as you got your wallet. As he witnessed the id fall from your bag, he took the initiative to pick it up and return it to you. His eyes grew wide when he noticed the name of the company you worked for, then handed it back to you. You slightly bowed your head as thanks for his kind gesture.
"...you work at Smile Solutions?" he asked shyly. "Oh yes, why do you ask?" you said while rearranging your bag. "Nothing much, it's just that a friend of mine just happens to work there too." he said as he placed your id on the table. "His name is Tomoru, are you familiar with him?" he said. "Ah, Kurokawa-san! Yes, I am. He's well respected and we kinda get along." you said with excitement as he mentioned your coworker. "Glad to know that." He flashed a smile before taking your payment in hand. "I received ¥553. Thanks." he said as he went off to start with your order.
After a few minutes, he comes back with your order in hand. "A Cafe Au Lait and a Chocolate Marble Cake for you." he said as he placed down your drink and slice of cake. "Thank you," you paused for a short second before noticing his name tag. "... Daimon-san." you gave out a smile, in which he returned with a blush and quite shock. Hearing a customer call him by his name for the first time made his chest tighten. "You're welcome, [Y/N]." he replied as he remembered noticing your name when he had picked up your id earlier. A blush made its way to your cheeks due to the fact that the guy actually noticed your name.
You turned to face the meal you ordered and started on savouring each bite. To be honest, that Café Au Lait tasted so good that it made you wanna go back again tomorrow.
It was not long for you to bid the him and the cafe good bye in order to continue on with your day.
And let's just say that you finally had something to look forward to everyday; the beginning of your faithful meeting with a kind hearted cafe manager named Daimon...
