Chapter Text
You can imagine the excitement Hope had on her face when she watched her boys cry happy tears holding the award. She had been crying with them in their dorm room because she knew how hard they worked each challenge, all the nights they came home exhausted, the nights she spent tending to their injuries, and being their support system when they needed to crash for a moment.
“Wow! They finally did it, I knew they could. All their hard work paid off.” Hope said with tears trailing down her face and a shaky voice. Soon an idea popped up into her head so she went to put it into action before the boys got home
Soon the early morning came when the front door was opened. All the boys' feet could be heard as they were saying thank you to the managers for the ride. When the door closed collectively they all let out a sigh and began to take their shoes in the walkway, too tired to properly put them away. Sangyeon was about to tell the boys to hurry up to wash up and eat before they sleep.
“I hope you plan on eating before you go to sleep, you know how I feel about you guys not eating.” Hope said with a sweet smile and her arms crossed on her chest.
The boys all sighed in relief and went to hug her. Hope figured they’d be too tired to do anything so she went ahead and ordered everyone's favorite food and drinks. The boys all huddled around here and gave her a hug and kiss on the cheek or forehead before saying thanks and going to eat. Sangyeon, being the last one in line, went and did the same as the boys.
“Thank you Hope but you didn’t have to do this, you know you could've gone to bed and we’d figure everything else out.” He said as he laid his chin on top of Hope’s head and closed his eyes for a brief second.
“Well it’s the least I could do since you guys took care of me during my hiatus and brought a win home, you guys worked hard enough, now go eat!” Hope said as she hugged Sangyeon tight and smiled at him.
As the boys all sat down and ate quietly, Hope watched them with a small smile on her face and couldn’t help but wonder “What if I was there?”
Fast Forward A Couple Months Later..
All the boys tucked into bed and sound asleep. Hope had gotten a call from their manager.
“ Yes manager-nim? It's early in the morning, is everything ok?” Hope asked as she rubbed her eyes with a little fear in her voice.
“Oh Hope-ah! no, there’s nothing wrong. You always worry about everyone but I have some news for you and the boys.” Hope popped up in her bed and looked around her room she shared with Eric and Sunwoo. She got up and walked into the kitchen to continue the conversation without worrying about waking up her roommates.
“Oh Ok what is it?”
“The producers of Kingdom are thinking about having another competition but this time they want all members to be there, including you.” Hope’s eyes widened a bit after the manager finished their sentence.
“W-what- Huh?I'm so confused. Why would they want me? Isn’t this a boys only competition?” She asked in confusion.
“Well yes but it isn’t a written rule so they are allowing it, the company thinks this will bring great publicity for you and the boys along with more involvement with international fans.” The manager said with excitement.
“I also think this will be a great way to announce that you are no longer on hiatus and to show everyone you’re ok.”
“ Ok i’ll do it, I’m starting to get bored of resting around the dorm anyway, I’m itching to remind everyone of my skills. Let’s do this.” Hope said with a fire in her eyes and her heart beating with excitement.
“I suppose you want me to schedule you an appointment at the salon and order you some new clothes?” The manager said with amusement in their voice.
“You know me so well, I’ll see you later.” Hope said with a smirk on her face. After the conversation she just had she went to shower and get ready for the day since her appointment was in a little bit and shooting the preview would be soon.
“I’m Back..”
