Chapter Text
Her hands were shaking, with the piece of paper in her hand she still couldn't tell if she had gone mad or if she was making the right choice. One look at the name she had written on that paper was enough, it was a clear and loud lie but it'd have to do so her father would sign it. Another all-girls private school, who would have guessed. Kira let out a sigh before entering his dad's home office.
—I already decided, it's this one.
She slid the piece of paper across the desk while keeping up with her serious act. She could feel her stomach moving around as a punishment, she hated lying but there wasn't any other choice. Kira had tried a week ago, three days after that, and even yesterday to convince her father but he wouldn't budge. Enji was not the type of man who would say yes to something like that, not at all, he'd already made a choice, Shoto was the only one who could be the hero, the only one with enough potential to go to de UA and that made Kira's blood boil. After all, who was he to decide such a thing?
Her father looked at the paper and then back at her, asking silently if she was serious, to which she nodded.
—Tomorrow they are giving a tour. If you sign the school will give me permission to go, it lasts most of the day.
She added confidently, looking directly at his turquoise eyes while a little innocent grin crossed her lips. There were no words, he signed and gave the paper back to her
—Thank you!
—I want every detail about that school by tomorrow evening. Consider other options as well, you may go now.
She left, not answering any of his words before running to her room to change the name of the school she was applying to in the permission paper so she could take the exam to get into the most famous and prestigious academy of heroes.
— I saw that.
The voice of Fuyumi called from the door frame, to which Kira simply shrugged, pretending to not understand what she meant at all. Of course, Fuyumi saw her, of course she knew, after all, she was always making sure she was ok after she had any conversation with Enji.
— He won't know until it's too late.
—He's gonna be mad, Kira. It's not a good idea. It's dangerous and you will get in trouble for this.
—Shut up! I do not care about your opinion, or his, or Shoto's. Why can't you be like Natsuo? He said I could do it if that is what makes me happy. But of course, as I'm his daughter I have to do what he wants, right? I can't aspire to anything else, right?
Her voice cracked, tears of anger filling her eyes as she put the paper back into her school backpack. It was always like that, even if she couldn't get used to it, that was her reality, she was the daughter of the number two hero, and his least favorite daughter, the unwanted one, the one he didn't care for. After all, she was the youngest, no double quirk, just fire, but that fire was the most dangerous one his father could ever imagine. After all the training she had done by herself she was at the same level as Shoto, if not higher, and she was going to prove it.
— Answer me.
She looked at Fuyumi, anger in her almost nonexistent pupils while she waited.
—I just want what's safer for you. I'll call you when the diner's ready.
With that, she saw her leave. Without thinking she grabbed one of her books from the desk in front of her and threw it to the open door, looking to relieve some of her frustration. Shoto saw that from across the hallway and decided that was one of the few times he was going to talk with her, after all, they barely saw each other, nor play with each other since they were three years old. Kira stood there, watching him get closer while her eyes widen almost in shock, what did he want?
— Are you ok?
That question made her frown, did she look ok? unconsciously her hand went to her hair, starting to detangle the ends with confusión.
— Obviously. Did you lose something?
He shook his head in response, entering her room, to which she took a step back.
—What school are you going to go to?
—UA.
She answered, no doubt at all while looking directly into his heterochromatic eyes. He looked back at her, cold and surprise on his stare.
— You didn’t aply for the recomendation test. Ithought father had tell you not to aply.
He argued back in confusion, after all he was the only Todoroki who was supposed to enter there.
— So? I will get in during the entrance exam. He doesn’t know. I don’t need the other exam anyway.
—What do you even mean?
—I mean that I'll get in fair and square with the entrance exam, no special treatment. Also, I'm going to be number one and kick your ass at every class we share.
He smiled at her, as if not believing any of her words. He didn't know she trained. To him, she was just a hotheaded stuck-up little girl that just wanted to go agains her father.
— If you say so...
With that he went back to his room. Kira stood there, analyzing what just happened. Just one of her siblings believed in her. One lonely tear dropped from her eyes, which she quickly whipped out before closing her door, slowly falling to the floor. She'd have to strive if she wanted to prove she could be a hero.
