Chapter Text
Summary: Takes place after Louis Howard's Sugar Ending. At the orphanage.
The sound of little feet running and giggles echoed through the hallway as the children of the orphanage ran to the living room. Y/n smiled as they found the children found their spots on either the floors or the seats, the two youngest running to sit on Y/n's and Louis's laps. Every night, either Y/n or her husband would tell the children a story before bed.
"Can you tell the story about the princess again?" The child on Louis's lap asked looking up at him with puppy eyes.
Louis smiled, "You've all heard that hundreds of times."
"We like it." one of the other children who sat on the couch protested.
"Alright, alright." Louis sighed, "pretty soon, you'll have this story memorized and will be telling us the story"
Y/n smiled, the story was all too familiar, however, Louis took out the names, not wanting the children to know the truth behind the story. It felt like such a long time ago when she last saw the people she became close to back in Wysteria, but in reality, it was less than just a few years.
"Once upon a time, long ago, in a far, far away kingdom. There lived a beautiful princess, that tried to do everything she could for the people of her kingdom, and along the way, she made a lot of greedy palace officials angry, they were also jealous because they didn't have that much popularity," Louis started "and one day she fell in love with someone who would someday rule alongside her. The man she fell in love with would do everything for her and to protect her-"
"Because he loved her." a child interrupted.
"Yes, he did. Very much. Legend says, he still does and always will. One day, there was a spy from another kingdom that framed the man the princess loved to make him look bad. This made a lot of people angry, and they didn't want him to become a prince, even when the princess proved his innocence. The princess was going to be forced to choose another prince, but she didn't want to, so she organized an escape with a close ally, where she could live in secret because the palace officials were turning against her. However, she didn't know that her prince was also planning to run away with her. So one night, he went to the tower she was hiding in. He took her hand and then they ran away to be together."
"And they lived happily ever after." the little boy on Y/n's lap yawned and rubbed his eyes.
"Yes, they did." Y/n ruffled the boy's hair.
With a quick glance around the room, Louis spoke, "it's time for bed, some of you are almost already falling asleep." He then looked at the girl in his lap, her head was on his chest and fast asleep, "some of you already are."
Louis stood up with the little girl in his arms as he and Y/n led the children to their rooms, he handed the little girl to Y/n as she entered one of the girls' rooms. Once all the children were in their beds, Y/n and Louis slowly made their way to their room, their arms linked.
"We really are going to live happily ever after." Y/n looked up at her husband lovingly.
"That we are." Louis kissed the top of her head, "we're both free, together, and doing something we love."
"I love these children" Y/n confessed, "and I love you."
"I love you too." Louis opened their bedroom door, "I love those kids too. Though someone could come and adopt them, I still love them as my own."
"Pretty soon there's going to be another one." Y/n smiled once she was in her husband's arms as they cuddled on their bed.
"When?" Louis asked, shifting so he could look at his wife.
"Mmm, in a few months, sometime later this year." Y/n smiled.
"Why that long? How old?" Louis asked confused.
"One, that's how nature works. Two, a newborn." Y/n smiled even more.
"A baby?" Louis questioned.
"Our baby." Y/n's eyes were getting glossy, "I'm pregnant."
"Really?" Louis sat up, his beautiful blue eye also getting glossy, "this is amazing"
Suddenly, Louis wrapped his wife up in a gentle, loving hug and kissed the top of her head before placing his hand on her stomach.
They really were living a happily ever after.
