Work Text:
When Marc first saw Nathaniel’s drawings, he loved them. He loved them so much, he looked at the yearbook to see who had created such beautiful works of art.
When Marc first saw Nathaniel’s picture, his heart skipped a beat. Of course, who could create something so beautiful except someone beautiful themself?
When Marc first saw Nathaniel, it wasn’t when they met. He had been keeping his eye out for the boy who inspired him so. It was only for a second, they barely brushed by each other in the hallway. Marc’s face was a bright red for the rest of the week.
When Marc first met Nathaniel, he actually managed to get a good look at him, in person, and, wow , the picture did not do him justice. The whole conversation was a haze.
When Reverser first met Nathaniel, he was full of rage. That boy tore up his notebook. He broke his heart. Reverser tried very hard not to think of how handsome that angry face had been as he tore up his hard work. It almost worked.
When Marc first started working with Nathaniel, he still had a bit of a grudge against him. They barely talked outside of working on the comic. However, Marc can’t help but glance at Nathaniel from time to time. He can’t help but notice some things. From the way he sticks out his tongue when he’s concentrating, to the way his whole face just lights up whenever he’s passionate about something. Marc notices and admits to himself that he may not have completely gotten over his crush.
When Marc first properly hangs out with Nathaniel, he finds himself swooning a little as Nathaniel laughs. It’s a bright, infectious laugh. They hang out all night.
When Marc first “hangs out” with Nathaniel, he makes the first move. Slowly, creeping closer, Marc allows himself to stare at Nathaniel’s bright red face. They don’t get much sleep that night.
When Marc first goes on a date with Nathaniel, he realizes something about himself. About how his simple crush has become all-encompassing. How Nathaniel always fills his thoughts. He realizes.
Marc loves Nathaniel.
