“All right that’s end of class for the day see you all next week.” said Chisa as she left the classroom.

“All right time to kick butt at the arcade!” exclaimed Ibuki.

“Sorry guys I have something to do today.” said Chiaki

“Oh come on Chiaki it’s been a month since you last went to the arcade with us.” said Sonia

“Sorry Sonia it’s just I’ve just got something I can’t miss see you guys Monday.” Chiaki said as she left the room

“Something is off about Chiaki she has never skipped this many trips to the arcade before.” Said Mahiru

“What could she possibly be doing that’s keeping her from us.” Said Hiyoko

“Could she be sick.” Said Mikan

“No you Pig she wouldn’t have came to class if she was!” Shouted Hiyoko

“Eee I’m sorry!” Exclaimed Mikan

“Could our class Rep been taken over by a demon entity.” Said Gundham

“I don’t think that’s the case.” Said Peko

“Do you think she’s meeting someone to-“ said Teruteru

“NO!” Shouted Everyone

“What it was just a thought.” Said Teruteru

“Do you always have to think like that.” Said Fuyuhiko

I do agree with the meeting up with someone part though.” Said Nagito

“Who could she be meeting?” Asked Akane

“An underclassman maybe.” Said Sonia

“I doubt it sure we have interacted with class 78 but we’re not that close.” Said Fuyuhiko

“Yeah and their classroom just down the hall she could of just talked to them at lunch.” Said Kazuichi

“Ibuki thinks Chiaki is meeting someone that is not on campus.” Said Ibuki

“What makes you say that?” Asked Nekomaru

“Just a hunch.” Said Ibuki

“She has a point other than Chihiro Chiaki only ever talks to us so the only other possibility is that she is is meeting someone off of campus.” Said Ryota

“What are we waiting for let’s follow her and find out what she’s doing!”exclaimed Sonia

“Can’t we just ask her on Monday?” Asked Peko

“Yes but she could deny it.” Said Mahiru

“I guess you have a point.” said Mikan

“Alright let’s go!” Exclaimed Sonia

So they walked around campus to find Chiaki

Chiaki’s POV

“Hey Hajime sorry I’m late.” Said Chiaki

“No it’s fine I just got here myself.” Said Hajime

“Up for another round of Gala Omega” asked Chiaki

“You know it.” Said Hajime

Ever since school started the two would always meet at the fountain and play games together and it was the best part of their day.They used meet every day after school but things got harder for Hajime so they changed it to just Fridays.

“There she is.” Said Nagito

The class couldn’t believe what they are seeing Chiaki with a reserve course student

“Who is that!”

Next Monday

“Hey Hajime.” said Natsumi

“Oh hey Natsumi.” Said Hajime

“So who’s your girlfriend?” Asked Natsumi

“G-G-Girlfriend?!” Exclaimed Hajime

“Yeah the gamer girl who’s in my brother’s class.” Said Natsumi

“I take it you know.” Said Hajime

“Yeah I see you with her all the time so something must be going on with you two.” Said Natsumi

“Nothing is happening we are just friends.” Said Hajime

“Keep telling yourself that Mr. in denial.” Teased Natsumi

Back to class 77

“So that’s why Chiaki’s been avoiding us she is dating a boy.” Happily said Sonia

“Not just any boy but a reserve course student.” Said Mahiru

“Why hasn’t Chiaki introduced him to us?” Asked Mikan

“Probably because he is a reserve course student They aren’t allowed in the main building.” Said Peko

“I can’t believe a symbol of hope like Chiaki would interact with a talentless nobody it’s just unbelievable-“ said Nagito

“Here we go again” said Hiyoko

“Nagito cut it out we don’t even know the guy.” Said Kazuichi

“We should find out who he is.” Said Nekomaru

“Oh yeah Fuyuhiko’s sister and Mahiru’s friend are in the reserve course maybe they know he is.” Said Ibuki

“I guess it wouldn’t hurt to ask.” Said Fuyuhiko

“Agreed let’s go at lunch.” Said Mahiru

Hajime is sitting on a bench thinking about what Natsumi said earlier was she right about him having a crush on Chiaki and even if he did would she like him back.

“Hey Hajime.” Said Sato

“Hi Sato.” Said Hajime

“You seem troubled is everything ok?” Asked Sato

“Everything is fine it’s just-“ said Hajime

“It’s about Chiaki isn’t it.” Said Sato

“How do you about Chiaki?” Asked Hajime

“I’ve seen you with her and she’s in my friend’s class so naturally she told me a lot about her.” Said Sato

“I should have known.” Said Hajime

“If you like her you should tell her how you feel. I’m sure she’ll like you back since you hang out a lot.” Said Sato

“H-H-How did you?” Said Hajime

“Intuition anyways I gotta go see you later.” Said Sato as she walked away

At the Ally way stood Mahiru, Fuyuhiko, and Peko
Later two girls joined them.

“Thanks for coming on short notice.” Said Mahiru

“No problem.” Said Sato

“What do you need to talk to us about anyway?” Asked Natsumi

Mahiru held up her camera

“We need to know the name of this boy.” Said Peko

“You mean Hajime.” Said Natsumi

“Hajime?” Asked Fuyuhiko

“Yeah Hajime Hinata he’s one of our classmates and we’ve seen him with Chiaki a lot.” Said Sato

“Thank you so much.” Said Mahiru

“No problem.” Said Sato

“Anytime.” Said Natsumi

Back in the classroom

“Ok class I need to go to my office for a bit and Chiaki needs to meet with the student council we will be right back.” Said Chisa as She left the room

“So Did you find out his name.” Asked Hiyoko

“Yes his name is Hajime Hinata.” Said Fuyuhiko

“So this Hajime Hinata is the one who has enchanted our class rep.” Said Gundham

“I wonder if they had Ever-.” Said Teruteru

“NO!” Shouted Everyone

“Well now that we know his name should we ask Chiaki about him when she gets back?” Asked Mikan

“No if we do that she will deny it.” Said Sonia

“Well what do we do then.” Asked Akane

“I say we confront them this Friday when they are together that way they can’t deny it.” Said Nagito

“Good point it would be more convenient to catch them in the act.” Said Ryota

Chiaki’s POV

Chiaki stood outside the door and heard the whole conversation she couldn’t believe they had found out this quickly. She got out her phone and messaged Haijme.

“We need to meet today it’s very important!”

Hajime’s POV
Hajime was heading back to class when his phone dinged. He pulled it out and read the text message and when he saw it his heart raced as if it had been awakened from it’s sleep. Hajime replied

“I will be there.”

After school gets out

Hajime sprinted toward the fountain and he saw Chiaki in the distance.

“So why did you want to meet today Chiaki.” Asked Hajime

“Hajime I my classmates know about us meeting.” Said Chiaki

“Oh really” said Hajime

“Natsumi and Sato must have ratted me out what am I gonna do?” Hajime thought

“Hajime I think it’s time for you to meet my classmates.” Said Chiaki

“What? But.” Said Hajime

“It’ll be ok you know Miss Yukizome and if I asked she would be ok with it.”

“But I’m a reserve course student can’t go in the main building.” Said Hajime

“Then I’ll just bring them over here this Friday.” Said Chiaki

“But will they accept me?” Asked Hajime

“Of course they will Hajime they are my friends and any friend of mine will be a friend to you.” Said Chiaki

Hajime smiled at the plan and it was the biggest smile he had ever had

“I can wait to meet them Chiaki.” Said Hajime

“And I can wait for them to meet you.” Said Chiaki

After school Tuesday

“Miss Yukizome!” Said Chiaki

“What is it Chiaki?” Asked Chisa

“You know how I’ve been hanging out with Hajime since last year.” Said Chiaki

“Yes.” Said Chisa

“And you know how I have been skipping our arcade sessions because we changed our meetings to just Fridays.” Said Chiaki

“Yes.” Said Chisa

“Well it turns out the class was spying on me and are going to try to confront us this Friday.” Said Chiaki

“Wow I understand if your upset but you’re their class rep and they are just doing this because they care about you.” Said Chisa

“I know I was just wondering would it be ok if we took the class to meet Hajime this Friday?” Asked Chiaki

“That’s a great idea Chiaki most hasn’t class hasn’t interacted with a reserve course student and plus Hajime will be able to realize that the main course and the reserve course students have a lot more in common than he thinks.” Said Chisa

“Your right and I think the class will like him too.” Said Chiaki

“Alright than it’s settled we going to the reserve course on Friday to meet Hajime!” Exclaimed Chisa

“Thanks Miss Yukizome see you tomorrow.” Said Chiaki as she left

Chiaki was overjoyed that her Classmates will be meeting the boy of her dreams. Chiaki had a crush on Hajime ever since they went to the arcade together for the first time. She wondered does he like her back?

Wednesday

Hajime’s POV

Hajime was happier than ever in two days he was going to meet Chiaki’s classmates the students who are so different but managed to get along so well. Hajime had heard so many stories about how they started out chaotic and how Chiaki brought them together.

“So thinking about your girlfriend again huh.” Teased Natsumi

“For the last time Natsumi she is not my girlfriend!” Shouted Hajime

“I don’t know your face is bright red.” Said Natsumi

“Don’t you have anything better to do than tease me.” Said Hajime

“Of course not and even if I did teasing you is way more fun.” Said Natsumi

“Hajime is it just me or are happier than usual.” Said Sato

“It’s nothing.” Said Hajime

“You can’t lie to me Hajime intuition remember I think it’s about Chiaki and her class.” Said Sato

“That reminds me did you two tell them about me and Chiaki meeting up?” Asked Hajime

“Well we didn’t tell them about that they just wanted to know your name Mahiru was the one who took the photo of you and Chiaki.” Said Natsumi

“I guess I should’ve known that her classmates would get suspicious.” Said Hajime

“Yeah I mean Chiaki is the glue that keeps them together so naturally they are gonna look out for her.” Said Sato

“I guess your right.” Said Hajime

“Chiaki brought her classmates together and she has always been there for them and if something happened to her they would do anything to make sure she is ok” Hajime thought

Thursday

Chiaki was ecstatic in one day her classmates are gonna meet the first friend she had ever made at Hopes Peak. As she was skipping down the hallway and she accidentally bumped into someone but she knew who he was it was the class rep of 78B Makoto Naegi

“Makoto I’m so sorry.” Said Chiaki

“It’s fine but I don’t think have ever seen you skip before.” Said Makoto

“Oh I was just in deep thought.” Said Chiaki

“Hey since you’re here do want to go to the cafeteria with me my class is having a picnic outside and Hiro forgot the drinks.” Said Makoto

“Sure I’d love to help.” Said Chiaki.

“Great thanks.” Said Makoto

“Hey Makoto are you making a lot of memories with your classmates?” Asked Chiaki

“Yeah why?” Asked Makoto

“Well I’ve been avoiding mine lately.” Said Chiaki

“Why?” Asked Makoto

“Ok before I got to know my class I became friends with a reserve course student and we had to move our meetings to Fridays which are the days my class would go to the arcade. I haven’t been going with them for a month and they spied on me and found out about me and my friend.” Said Chiaki

“Wow that sounds crazy.” Said Makoto

“Yeah they weren’t that good at hiding it when I was going to the last student council meeting I over heard them talking about it.” Said Chiaki

“What are you going to do about it?” Asked Makoto

“Well I asked my teacher if we could go out to meet him this Friday.” Said Chiaki

“That’s a great idea.” Said Makoto

“I guess I’m a bit nervous.” Said Chiaki

“Hey it’ll be ok remember you brought your classmates together and if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have became class rep for my class. I’m pretty sure they will become good friends with him.” Said Makoto

“You’re right if I can help both our classes I can handle this.” Said Chiaki

“That’s the spirit.” Said Makoto

A few minutes later they got the drinks and made their way outside

“Hey guys Makoto’s back!” Exclaimed Sayaka

“Hey everyone.” Said Makoto

Then they see Chiaki

“Chiaki We haven’t seen you like in forever.” Said Junko

“Hey everyone how’s it going.” Said Chiaki

“We are doing good how is your class?” Asked Chihiro

“Good.” Said Chiaki

“When was the last time we talked.” Asked Aoi

“If I recall correctly it was when had that winter party.” Celeste

“Oh man it’s been that long our classes need to get together more often.” Said Mondo

“Agreed it would be fun.” Said Kyoko

“We should plan something since spring break is coming up.” Said Mukuro

“Oh maybe we should plan another party.” Said Hifumi

“A less crazy one.” said Byakuya

“Are you kidding with classes like ours calm is not an option .” Said Leon

“Agreed even if we tried it wouldn’t last that long” said Sakura

“Especially if we have another monopoly match.” Said Makoto

Last time they got together Chiaki,Nagito,Makoto,and Celestia played a game monopoly and let’s just say things went down

“I don’t think anyone could forget about that.” Said Chiaki

“Chiaki you are welcome to join our picnic if you are available.” Said Kiyotaka

“Thanks but my classmates are probably wondering where I am.” Said Chiaki

“we just have to wait till next time I guess” said Toko

“Sorry but I will ask Miss Yukizome if we can plan something soon.” Said Chiaki as she walked off

“Bye Chiaki” said Everyone

Class 78 was very close to Class 77 the two class had a lot things in common which is probably why they got along pretty easily. Chiaki wondered if Hajime could form a close bond like that with her classmates.

Hajime’s POV

Hajime is extremely nervous even though she said they would accept him he was a talentless nobody and they were the elites.

“Hajime get a grip tomorrow you’re just gonna meet some other students and who knows maybe we have somethings in common.” Said Hajime

“Who are you talking to?” Asked Sato

“Gah you heard all of that?!” Exclaimed Hajime

“Yes I did what is going on?” Asked Sato

“Ok to tell truth Chiaki wants me to meet her classmates tomorrow and I’m a bit nervous.” Said Hajime

“Oh that’s all I’ve met some of them and they are really nice and you’re a nice guy I’m petty sure they will like you.” Said Sato

“Thanks Sato I needed that.” Said Hajime

Sato’s words gave Hajime a lot more confidence. He realizes that everything will be fine if Chiaki could accept him without a talent so can her classmates

Friday

“Ok Class it’s the end of the day.” Said Chisa

On cue Chiaki stood up

“Everyone before we go I just I’m sorry for not going to the arcade like I promised.” Said Chiaki

“Oh it’s ok we understand.” Said Sonia

“Anyways I’m just gonna cut to the chase I know you were planning on spy on me and Hajime today.” Said Chiaki

The entire class froze

“What makes you say that?” Asked Mikan

“Intuition.” Said Chiaki to give them a little credit

“Ok ok we just wanted to know why were you avoiding us.” Said Mahiru

“I know you guys are my friends and when one of us down we all help.” Said Chiaki

“Wait so you’re not mad at us?” Asked Kazuichi

“Of course not.” Said Chiaki

“Well that’s a relief.” Said Nagito

“Anyways about Hajime I want you all to meet him.” Said Chiaki

“Meet him you say.” Said Gundham

“Well I never saw that coming.” Said Ryota

“Well I’ve been hanging out with him since our first year and since you found out I think it’s about time for you guys to meet.” Said Chiaki

“That’s a great great idea that way we can get to know your boyfriend in person.” Said Sonia

Chiaki blushed at that

“One problem though he’s a reserve course student we can’t bring him over here.” Said Peko

“Exactly which is why we are going meet at the fountain.” Said Chisa

“Hold on you knew Chiaki was going to bring this up.” Asked Fuyuhiko

“Is that even surprising at this point.” Said Hiyoko

“Who cares we actually get to meet him!” Said Akane

“Let’s give him an introduction he will never forget.” Said Ibuki

“ALL RIGHT LET’S GO MEET HAJIME!” Shouted Nekomaru

Hajime’s POV

Hajime was waiting at the fountain he remembered what Sato told yesterday.

“Everything is gonna be fine I just need to be myself.” Said Hajime

“Hajime!” Shouted Chiaki

Hajime looked up and saw Chiaki,Miss Yukizome, and the other students.

“She really brought them.” Hajime thought

“Hajime!” Shouted Chiaki

Hajime looked up and saw Chiaki,Miss Yukizome, and the other students.

“She really brought them.” Hajime thought

“Hajime Hinata long time no see.” Said Yukizome

“Hi Miss Yukizome so this the rest of your class.” Said Hajime

“Everyone this is Hajime Hinata, we met when I was trying to bring Chiaki to class when I was first transferred last year.” Said Yukizome

Yukizome nudges Hajime

“Come on don’t be shy.” Said Yukizome

“Oh right, my name is Hajime Hinata it’s really nice to finally meet you all.” Said Hajime

Even though he was just meeting other students Hajime was sweating bullets. Chiaki noticed and walked up to him and grabbed his hand.

“Don’t worry Hajime everyone’s friendly no need to be nervous.” Said Chiaki

TeruTeru peers in

“Wow that was so sudden Chiaki, you two must have-“ Said TeruTeru

“That’s enough out of you.” said Ryota

Chiaki rolled her eyes

“That’s TeruTeru Hanamura the Ultimate cook. He’s dishes are amazing but he’s a bit of a pervert.” Said Chiaki

“Yeah we apologize for his behavior.” Said Ryota

“This is Ryota Mitirai the Ultimate Animator” said Chiaki

“I remember you, you were the one Miss Yukizome was chasing when me and Chiaki first met” Said Hajime

“Oh I think I vaguely remember you being at the fountain that day before I ran” said Ryota

Chiaki giggled and walked over to Mahiru

“This is Mahiru Koizumi the Ultimate Photographer.” Said Chiaki

“Mahiru, you’re Sato’s friend.” Said Hajime

“That’s right, it’s really nice to meet you Hajime.” Said Mahiru

Mahiru smiled and Hajime smiled back

“This is Peko Pekoyama the Ultimate Swordswoman.” Said Chiaki

“It’s nice to meet you.” Said Peko

Hajime smiled at Peko even though he thought she was intense.

“Don’t worry Peko may seem intense at first but she’s just reserved.” Said Chiaki

“This is Hiyoko Saionji the Ultimate Traditional Dancer.” Said Chiaki

“I guess it’s nice to meet to meet you.” Said Hiyoko

“Aww don’t be like that Hiyoko. Anyway-“ Said Ibuki

Ibuki darts over to Hajime

“I wanna know all the details. Are you a game fanatic too? Does the reserve course do things like us? Are you and Chiaki an item?” Said Ibuki

“Uh.” Said Hajime

“Ibuki give him some space you’re making him nervous.” Said Mahiru

“Oh sorry I just haven’t met a reserve course student before.” Said Ibuki

Ibuki backs away from Hajime

“This is Ibuki Mioda the Ultimate Musician. She’s always full of energy.”Said Chiaki

“This is Mikan Tsumiki the Ultimate Nurse.” Said Chiaki

“It’s nice to me- Ahhhhhhh!” Said Mikan

Mikan tripped and landed in a comprising position

“Oh!” Said Hajime

“Oh my God can you do anything without tripping you pig.” Said Hiyoko

“I’m sorry just forgive me already!” Said Mikan

“Is she ok?” Asked Hajime

“Yeah Mikan is just very clumsy, this happens a lot.” Said Chiaki

“This Nekomaru Nidai the Ultimate Team Manager.” Said Chiaki

“Ultimate Team Manager?” Asked Hajime

“Yep.” Said Chiaki

“I may be the Ultimate Team Manager but Chiaki deserves all the credit. She’s the most for our class and we wouldn’t have became friends if it wasn’t for her.” Said Nekomaru

Nekomaru began to rub Chiaki on the head

“So must possess a strong aura to attract our Class Rep, me and my Four Dark Devas of Destruction envy your power.” Said Gundham

“What?” Asked Hajime

“That’s Gundham Tanaka the Ultimate Breeder, talking about power is kinda his thing.” Said Chiaki

“This is Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu the Ultimate Yakuza.” Said Chiaki

“Kuzuryu? Oh you’re Natsumi’s brother.” Said Hajime

“Yep. It’s a pleasure to meet you Hajime.” Said Fuyuhiko

“This is Akane Owari the Ultimate Gymnast.” Said Chiaki

“Nice to meet ya.” Said Akane

“This is Kazuichi Soda the Ultimate Mechanic.” Said Chiaki

“Nice to meet you Hajime you must be good with Women you got any advice.” Said Kazuichi

“Uhm what?” Asked Hajime

Chiaki leaned over to Hajime and Whispered in his ear

“Kazuichi has crush and always strikes out.” Whispered Chiaki

Sonia walks up to Hajime and grabs his hands

“Miss Sonia!?” Exclaimed Kazuichi

“Uh.” Said Hajime

“Hajime Hinata it’s an honor to finally meet you. Any friend of Chiaki is a friend of ours. I want to learn everything about you.” Said Sonia

“Um thanks?” Said Hajime

“This is Sonia Nevermind the Ultimate Princess, She’s an exchange student from a European Kingdom.” Said Chiaki

“And last but not least this is Nagito Komaeda the Ultimate Lucky Student.” Said Chiaki

“Nice to meet you although I don’t understand how a Symbol of hope like Chiaki have interest in s-.”

A sea of groans and facepalms insue

“Um what’s happening?” Asked Hajime

“We apologize for him, Nagito like to ramble for hours about hope and half the time we don’t understand what he means.” Said Fuyuhiko

“Yeah it can very annoying sometimes.” Said Chiaki

“Okay.” Said Hajime

“Huh? Oh sorry I got carried away again.” Said Nagito

“Yeah ya did.” Said Kazuichi

“Alright now that introductions are finished let’s head on over the the arcade.” Said Yukizome

“Huh?” Said Hajime

“You didn’t think the class was just gonna introduce themselves and leave did ya.” Said Yukizome

“Well no but-“ Said Hajime

“I want you to have fun with us Hajime and before we got here I asked if it would be ok for you to join our activities and everyone agreed.” Said Chiaki

“Really?” Asked Hajime

“Of course the more the merrier.” Said Sonia

“Before we had to switch our meeting time the class would go to the arcade on Fridays so why not join us from now on.” Said Chiaki

“Oh okay.” Said Hajime

“Alrighty then let’s go!” Exclaimed Yukizome

Class 77 and Hajime went down to the arcade. Once they got there everyone went off to do their thing except for Hajime’s who sat down on a bench watching everyone else.

Yukizome walks over to Hajime

“Hajime why aren’t you sitting here by yourself instead of hanging out with everyone?” Asked Yukizome

“Miss Yukizome I don’t belong with them they’re all special I’m not. I don’t deserve to even be here.” Said Hajime

“Yes you do!” Exclaimed Yukizome

“Having a talent doesn’t make you special. You’re special just the way you are.” Said Yukizome

“But your class are Ultimates.” Said Hajime

“Ultimates are just a title My Students are just normal kids just like you. Chiaki is your friend and the others are willing to be your friends too. Come on get in there and have fun I’m sure you all are more alike than you think.” Said Yukizome

“Uh okay.” Said Hajime

Hajime stood up and began to walk around. As he walked he saw the class in groups he didn’t wanna but in but he didn’t wanna go back to being alone either what is he to do

Bump

“Ow! Huh.” Said Hajime

Hajime bumped into a space game

“Huh this must be new.” Said Hajime

Chiaki peered around the corner and saw Hajime

“Hey Hajime.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki walked up to Hajime and saw the new space game. It was a space shooter game where two people play against each other to see how many enemies can they can take out

“Ooo Let’s play this Hajime!” Exclaimed Chiaki

“Alright.” Said Hajime

They booted up the game and the timer was set to 5 minutes and the began playing. Of course Chiaki was in the lead but Hajime was not to far behind her.

Mahiru was walking around to get everyone because it was time to go but then she saw Hajime and Chiaki and they were neck and neck

“Hey guys you need to see this!” Exclaimed Mahiru

Everyone made their way over to where Mahiru was and saw Hajime and Chiaki. They were shocked to see how close Hajime’s score was to Chiaki’s

“No way! Hajime is so close to Chiaki’s score!” Exclaimed Ibuki

“You’re right none of us except for Nagito have even come close to beating Chiaki at a game.” Said Kazuichi

Hajime was so engrossed by the game and hanging out with Chiaki that he didn’t notice the rest of the class was watching

When the game ended Chiaki had 500 points and Hajime had 499 points

“Wow Hajime that was awesome.” Said Chiaki

“Heck yeah it was none of have come that close to beating Chiaki at a game ever.” Said Ibuki

“You’re were Amazing Hajime’s you must good at video games.” Said Sonia

Hajime blushed from embarrassment

“Well I have kinda improved since I’ve been hanging out with Chiaki.”Said Hajime

“Don’t be modest now that was a great run.” Said Ryota

Everyone nodded in agreement

Chisa leaned in and whispered to Hajime

“Told ya you’re special.”

Everyone went back to Hope’s Peak and parted ways with Hajime

The Class77 Girls were having girl time in Chiaki’s dorm room. Chiaki was having fun but she couldn’t stop thinking about Hajime and was drifting off. The rest of the girls noticed this and got worried.

“Is something wrong Chiaki?” Asked Mahiru

Chiaki snapped back into reality

“Huh?” Said Chiaki

“You’ve been very quiet.” Said Peko

“Really?” Asked Chiaki

“Yeah really! I mean you are quiet but never during girls day. You also had this concerned look on your face.” Said Ibuki

“Oh I did? Sorry it’s nothing.” Said Chiaki

“That’s a load of Bullshit.” Said Hiyoko

“HIYOKO!” Shouted all the girls except for Chiaki

“What!” Said Hiyoko

“Th-that was rude.” Said Mikan

“So? It’s the truth.” Said Hiyoko

“Still uncalled for.” Said Mahiru

“Really guys it’s not a big deal.” Said Chiaki

“AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!” Screamed Ibuki and Sonia

The rest of the girls got spooked

“What was that about?” Asked Mahiru

“Isn’t obvious, our class rep has got a case of love on the brain!” Exclaimed Ibuki

“How amazing, Chiaki is in love with Hajime to the point where he is all she can think about!” Said Sonia

Chiaki’s face turned bright red

“WHAT! NO! That’s not it! Wait! No! I mean! Ugh!” Exclaimed Chiaki

“Ibuki sees it now our lovesick Chiaki wants to confess her love but can’t bring herself to so as she thinks Hajime only sees her as a friend. Don’t worry Chiaki we’ll help you get the guy of your dreams.”
Said Ibuki

Chiaki buried her face in her hands

“That’s seriously not what this is about!” Said Chiaki

“Now Ibuki let’s let Chiaki speak.”said Mahiru

“Oh sorry.” Said Ibuki

“Thanks Mahiru.” Said Chiaki

“Ok the thing is I’m really worried Hajime. He doesn’t think he’s worth anything because he doesn’t have a talent and no matter how many times I reassure him that he’s amazing without one he still thinks that way. Even yesterday he wouldn’t play with us at the arcade until Miss Yukizome talked him into it.” Said Chiaki

The other girls looked at each other

“I just don’t know, how can I get him to see himself the way I see him?” Asked Chiaki

“That must be hard but I can see why he would have a hard time accepting himself around all us.” Said Peko

“Huh?” Said Chiaki

“Think about it, the world views talent as everything and at Hope’s Peak we’re all viewed based on our talents. When we first came to this school all we cared about was honing our skills. We didn’t see each other outside of our talents until Miss Yukizome became our teacher.” Said Peko

“Peko’s got a point, Hope’s peak is seen as the beacon of the world and many students want to attend but they can’t because they’re average. And the reserve course doesn’t make it any better, sure it allows regular students to attend Hope’s Peak but they don’t get the same treatment we do. They’re only seen as desperate students who want success. Not to mention the fact that they can’t interact with us unless was go to them.” Said Mahiru

“I guess but still, Hajime is just as great as the next person talent or not. I want him hold his head high with us and not feel as if he’s lower than us.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki looks down at her game girl advance

Sonia hugs Chiaki

Chiaki looks at Sonia

“Don’t worry, Hajime isn’t just your friend anymore he’s our friend too. The next time we see him we’ll make sure that he feels like he’s one of us.” Said Sonia

“Really?” Said Chiaki

“Of course we will.” Said Mahiru

Mahiru joins the hug

“All for one right.” Said Mahiru

“Normally I don’t care about these things but Hajime seems like a decent guy.” Said Hiyoko

Hiyoko also joined the hug

“It would suck if you were hung up on this all the time. So I’ll do my best.” Said Hiyoko

The rest of the girls joined the hug

“I don’t know if I can do much but I’ll help out too.” Said Mikan

“Class 77 sticks together right!” Said Akane

“Indeed, no matter what.” Said Peko

“We’ll make sure Hajime’s never feels alone again!” Said Ibuki

Monday Reserve Course

Hajime was staring out the window at the main course as usual

Sato walks up to Hajime

“Staring out the window again?” Asked Sato

“Oh, hey Sato.” Said Hajime

“Out of curiosity, do you ever compare yourself to Mahiru?” Asked Hajime

“Huh? No why?” Asked Sato

“It’s just hard for me to be around Chiaki without thinking how great she is compared to me.” Said Hajime

Hajime looks to the floor and Sato begins to look concerned

“And meeting her classmates doesn’t make it any better. It feels like they just agreed to meet me out of pity.” Said Hajime

“Hajime.” Said Sato

“I know I’m exaggerating but can you blame me.” Said Hajime

“Well I kinda see what you mean. Mahiru is my best friend and I always admired her photography. I’ll admit I wished that I had the talent she does but that doesn’t mean I’m nothing.” Said Sato

Hajime looks up at Sato

“Mahiru maybe the Ultimate Photographer but when you break it down she’s just Mahiru and I’m just Sato.” Said Sato

“Yeah, I guess but how can I be good enough for them? ” Said Hajime

“How can I be good enough for her?” Hajime thought

“Well you just have to be Hajime.” Said Sato

“What?” Asked Hajime

“Hajime, what does Chiaki think of you?” Asked Sato

“What does she think of me?” Asked Hajime

Hajime thought back to when he and Chiaki first started playing games together

“If you sucked at video games would you still bother to play them.” Asked Hajime

“I’d want to know how bad I would be. Even if I were horrible I think I’d love em, that’s how great they are.” Said Chiaki

“But what if someone else was the Ultimate Gamer and every time they’d leave your score in the dust?” Asked Hajime

“There’s more to life than just talent.” Said Chiaki

“Miss Yukizome tells us that all the time. She says talent doesn’t guarantee an interesting life, making memories with others leads to hope and hope is way more important than ability.” Said Chiaki

Hajime was shocked by Chiaki’s answer

“The time we spend together playing games, I like it.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki blushed

“Yeah me too” Whispered Hajime

Hajime blushed

“Huh?” Asked Chiaki

“Yeah this is great fun.” Said Hajime

“In that case let’s keep going.” Said Chiaki

“I guess she thinks very highly of me, even though I’m average.” Said Hajime

“Then there’s nothing to worry about. If Chiaki likes you for who you are then she’s a true friend.” Said Sato

“Yeah you’re right.” Said Hajime

Sato walks away

“But I care about what others think of me. I want to be the person I want to be. I want to be worthy of being by Chiaki’s side.” Hajime thought

Main course break time

Class 77 was outside for lunch Chiaki was inside because Chihiro needed some help so the rest of the girls used this opportunity to tell the guys about what Chiaki said about Hajime

“Are you serious? man that’s just sad.” Said Kazuichi

“I guess it would make sense for him to feel that way but still.” Said Fuyuhiko

“I know that’s why he needs our help. We need to show Hajime the there’s more to us than just our talents.” Said Sonia

“And how exactly are we gonna do that. It would be hard for a reserve course student to confide in symbols of hope like us.” Said Nagito

Mahiru elbows Nagito

“Nagito can you please cut it out with the symbols of hope nonsense.” Said Mahiru

“Apologizes.” Said Nagito

“There has to be something we can do to get Hajime to not feel insecure around us.” Said Nekomaru

“I think I have an idea.” Said Ryota

Tuesday reserve course breaktime

Hajime was sitting on the bench by the fountain like he always does

“Hey Hajime!”

Hajime looked up at the source of the sound and saw Sato, Mahiru, Ibuki, Hiyoko, and Mikan walking toward him

“I knew you’d be here.” Said Sato

“Hi girls. What are you all doing here.” Asked Hajime

“Isn’t obvious we’re here to hang out!” Shouted Ibuki

“Huh?” Exclaimed Hajime

Ibuki, Mahiru, Hiyoko, and Mikan are walking towards the reserve course building

“Ok girls remember the plan?” Asked Mahiru

“Yep, Operation ‘Make Hajime Hinata feel like he’s like one of us’ Phase 1 is a go!” Said Ibuki

“Are you sure this will work?” Asked Mikan

“I’m sure it will remember what Ryota said” said Mahiru

“I think I have an idea. Why don’t we all take the time getting to know him.” Said Ryota

“What do you mean?” Asked Kazuichi

“I mean like spending time with him outside of our class events. That way he will feel like our friend and not just Chiaki’s.” Said Ryota

“I see, if we all get close to him Hajime will feel like he belongs.” Said Sonia

“Ok but how are we going to this it would be way to stressful if we all try at once.” Said Peko

“We take it slow, first we all try to get to know him during the school week, then we hangout with him in our free time to build up our relationship with him. After awhile he should start to feel comfortable being around us without needing Chiaki or Miss Yukizome’s help. Said Ryota

“That’s a good plan, so who’s going first.” Asked Akane

“How about me, my friend Sato knows Hajime and I know my way around the Reserve Course.” Said Mahiru

“Don’t forget about us!” Shouted Ibuki

“Huh?” Exclaimed Mahiru

Ibuki pulled Mahiru, Hiyoko, and Mikan into a hug

“Aah!” Shrieked Mikan

“Hey!” Exclaimed Hiyoko

“We’ve hung out with you at the reserve course we can help out.” Said Ibuki

“That would be great thanks.” Said Mahiru

“Yahoo! I hear dub this plan ‘Make Hajime Hinata feel like he’s like one of us’ phase 1!” Exclaimed Ibuki

Ibuki drop kicked Teruteru into the wall

“This plan seems like a long shot but it’s our best bet.” Said Fuyuhiko

“And Gundham’s saying something weird again.” Said Kazuichi

“I kinda understand what he means. With our help Hajime won’t feel worthless without a talent.” Said Nagito

“ALRIGHT STARTING TOMORROW WE’LL MAKE HAJIME FEEL LIKE THE SHIT!” Shouted Nekomaru

“YEAH!” Shouted everyone

Flash forward to the girls walking into reserve course building

“We’re just trying to get know Hajime a bit more so he will feel comfortable being around us. We just need to take it slow and everything will be fine.” Said Mahiru

“I hope I don’t mess it up.” Said Mikan

“I just hope that this won’t be a waste of our time.” Said Hiyoko

The girls went up to Hajime’s classroom. Everyone was having lunch as usual but Hajime wasn’t there. Sato other the other hand was and was shocked to see Mahiru, Hiyoko, Ibuki, and Mikan

“Hi girls I didn’t know you’d be here today.” Said Sato

“Hey Sato, we’re actually here to see Hajime is he not here today?” Asked Mahiru

“No he is, Hajime just doesn’t eat lunch in the classroom come on I’ll show you where he is.” Said Sato

Back to the Present

“You guys want to hang out with me?” Asked Hajime

“That what Ibuki just said dumbass.” Said Hiyoko

“She’s in a mood.” Hajime thought

“Hiyoko be nice.” Said Mahiru

“It’s very nice to see you again Haji—Aaaaaaah!” Exclaimed Mikan

Mikan fell in a comprising position again

“God damnit you pig one minute in and you already screwed this up!” Shouted Hiyoko

“I’m sorry forgive me already!” Exclaimed Mikan

“Oh my god! Are you okay?” Asked Hajime

Hajime helps her up

“Yeah I’m okay thank you for worrying about me.” Said Mikan

Hajime looked up at Sato

“Sato did you tell them I was here?” Asked Hajime

“Yep they were looking for you inside so I brought them out here.” Said Sato

“Come on let’s have lunch.” Said Ibuki

Ibuki plops down a picnic blanket that she brought and the rest of the girls sat down

“I’m having lunch with five girls this isn’t totally awkward at all.” Hajime thought

“So why did you guys want to see me today?” Hajime

Hajime sits down

“Because we want to get to know you better. You are our Class’s newest friend after all.” Said Mahiru

“Uh ok.” Said Hajime

“So Hajime why did you enroll into the Reserve Course?” Asked Mahiru

“Uh.” Said Hajime

Hajime thinks for a moment

“Well I’ve admired Hope’s Peak since I was a kid.” Said Hajime

Hajime has admired Hope’s Peak since he was a kid but he admired talent even more. Hajime when he realized that he was average in every way but when he found out about the Reserve Course he felt that he had the chance to become something. His parents didn’t mind because they were the kind of people who worked all the time and did everything to keep their kids out of their hair. As Hajime started at the Reserve Course he only felt worse because even though the Reserve Course students were attending the best school in the world they were treated as wastes of space. Hajime didn’t feel any joy at school until he met Chiaki his first year but he still doesn’t feel like he’s good enough to be her friend.

“Alright, well do you have any idea what you want to go into after you graduate?” Asked Mahiru

“Um no, I haven’t chosen a path yet.” Said Hajime

Hiyoko leans over to Ibuki

“Ugh this is hopeless we’re getting nowhere!” Whispered Hiyoko

“Don’t worry I got this.” Whispered Ibuki

Ibuki moves over to Hajime and Mahiru. Then bumps Mahiru out of the way.

“Gah!” Exclaimed Mahiru

“So Hajime what was your first meeting with Chiaki like?” Asked Ibuki

“Huh? Why do want to know about that?” Asked Hajime

“I want to know how our Chiaki set your heart a flame!” Exclaimed Ibuki

“What!” Exclaimed Hajime

Hajime’s face turned bright red. It’s true that Chiaki set his hard a flame but Hajime has never admitted it.

“Ibuki.” Said Mahiru

Ibuki leans over to Mahiru

“If we’re going to do this we need to get straight to the point.” Whispered Ibuki

“Come on Hajime spill.” Teased Hiyoko

“Is it really that important?” Asked Hajime

“Yes, remember you’re Chiaki’s first friend here at Hope’s Peak. It’s only fair if you tell them.” Said Sato

“Oh alright.” Said Hajime

The girls peered around Hajime

“The day I met Chiaki was special. That evening I was standing at this fountain. I thought back to how the other students at my old high school said that I was a try hard, just trying to pay my way for success, and that I don’t have the right to be special because I don’t have a talent. Just then I felt someone bump into my right shoulder. It was Chiaki and she was in grossed in her game. I asked if she was ok and she said yeah. As Chiaki was about to walk away I recognized the music from her game from Gala Omega. I asked her about it and she took interest in me. Then your teacher Miss Yukizome showed up because she was looking for Chiaki but then Ryota escaped from her grasp. Miss Yukizome ran after him leaving us alone.” Said Hajime

Flashback

“I thought they’d be more elite.” Said Hajime

“Weather you have talent or not there’s no point in getting hung up over it.” Said Chiaki

“Huh?” Said Hajime

“You have greater freedom than we do. All I have is a pile of video games. Someone like you can go anywhere a do whatever they want with their life.” Said Chiaki

“Those words made me feel a way I had never felt before. Then Miss came back with Ryota and needed to take Chiaki back to campus with her. So she picked her up since Chiaki started a new game. As Chiaki was being carried away she waved back at me. Even though she hadn’t looked up from her game she still acknowledged that I was there.” Said Hajime

Back to the present

“A few weeks later Chiaki asked if I’d go to the arcade with her and ever since we’d play games together any time we can.” Said Hajime

*snifles*

“Huh?” Exclaimed Hajime

Mikan was crying

“Th-that was so sweet.” Said Mikan

“That’s our Class Rep alright, even before we came together Chiaki always knew how to be there for others.” Said Mahiru

“Yeah she told me that you all are making good memories together.” Said Hajime

“Yeah but do you know how she brought us together?” Asked Ibuki

“Oh, no.” Said Hajime

“Well since you told us how you first became friends with Chiaki. I guess it’s only fair we tell you.” Said Hiyoko

“It happened last year, we were a few weeks in since Miss Yukizome became our teacher but we still weren’t becoming friends.” Said Mahiru

Flashback to Class 77’s first year

It was breaktime and the class except for Chiaki was sitting around as usual. Chiaki took what Miss Yukizome said to heart and decided that she was gonna try to befriend here classmates. She went back to her dorm room to get her controllers, console, and games.

“Hey where’s Chiaki?” Asked Mahiru

“I haven’t seen her since this morning.” Said Sonia

The door opened

“Hey guys.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki came back with all of her stuff

“What’s all that for?” Asked Peko

“I thought since we’re all here we can play games together.” Said Chiaki

“Pass, I’m not interested.” Said Hiyoko

“I’m not one for games either.” Said Nekomaru

“Come on it’ll be fun I’ve gotta large variety of games to play.” Said Chiaki

“But will it even matter, I mean you’re the Ultimate Gamer none of us have a chance at winning against you.” Said Nagito

“That doesnt matter, all that matters is we have fun.” Said Chiaki

The Class looked at one another

“I never thought I’d be able to make friends with gaming but Miss Yukizome made me realize that if I had so much fun playing games by myself I can have just as much fun playing with others.” Said Chiaki

Aww, come on everyone let’s give it a chance.” Said Sonia

“I mean few games wouldn’t hurt.” Said Mikan

“If this is to be our fate, I will allow it.” Said Gundham

“I guess it wouldn’t kill me.” Said Hiyoko

“So you guys will play with me?” Asked Chiaki

“Yeah anything to liven up class time.” Said Ibuki

“Um not to be a downer but what will we play the game on?” Asked Ryota

“Leave that to me.” Said Kazuichi

Kazuichi left the classroom

“In the meantime time we should fix the hole in the wall.” Said Peko

“Good idea.” Said Mahiru

As Kazuichi was putting the monitor together the rest of the class was fixing the hole left behind from Nekomaru and Akane’s training session.

“Kazuichi better be back soon.” Said Fuyuhiko

A few minutes later Kazuichi came back with a monitor and the class was able to set up Chiaki’s console

“Ok guys which game should we play first?” Asked Chiaki

Everyone looked though the games Chiaki brought

“Oh I love this game!” Exclaimed Akane

Akane picked up a Smash brothers game

“That’s a classic.” Said Chiaki

“Let’s have a tournament Boys vs Girls!” Exclaimed Ibuki

“Chiaki wanna team up?” Asked Akane

“Yeah.” Said Chiaki

“Nekomaru do you wanna join?” Asked Akane

“Sure why not, Gundham wanna be my partner?” Asked Nekomaru

“Let us conquer this fight.” Said Gundham

Back to the present

“And that was only the beginning even when Miss Yukizome came back we still continued to game.” Said Mahiru

“I’ll admit it was more fun than I thought it would be.” Said Hiyoko

“Wow, Chiaki was worried that she couldn’t make friends but she tried anyway.” Said Hajime

Sato leans towards Hajime

“See, Chiaki is just like you.” Whispered Sato

“She even asked Teruteru to make lunch for us.” Said Mikan

“Uh yeah she did and let’s just leave it at that.” Said Mahiru with an embarrassed expression

“Is something wrong?” Asked Hajime

“Nope.” Said Mahiru and Hiyoko

“During lunch that day Hiyoko mixed a soup with the food Teruteru made and it turned out that the bottle she used was an aphrodisiac.” Said Ibuki

“IBUKI!” Exclaimed Mahiru and Mikan

“What?!” Exclaimed Hajime and Sato

“Haha yeah it was Hilarious.” Said Hiyoko while giggling

“No it wasn’t!” Said Mahiru

“Well it was until Teruteru almost got his hands on me but before he could Chiaki saved me.” Said Hiyoko

“She did?!” Exclaimed Hajime

“Yeah she did used the super heaven slaying dragon fist on Teruteru.” Said Ibuki

“It was a one of kind punch.” Said Mikan

“Wow I didn’t know that Chiaki could fight.” Said Hajime

“Yeah it surprised all of us. The next day we selected Chiaki as our Class Rep.” Said Mahiru

“She didn’t want to at first but we all wanted her Rep the class so she agreed.” Said Ibuki

“Ever since then our class has been closer than ever.” Said Mikan

“That was amazing of her.” Said Hajime

Hajime began to feel more relieved knowing that Chiaki was just like him before getting to know her classmates

“Hajime we should head back to class.” Said Sato

Hajime checked the time on his phone

“Oh yeah we should head back. Thanks for having lunch with me girls.” Said Hajime

“No problem see you around Hajime.” Said Mahiru

Hajime and Sato head back to the Reserve Course building

“Do you think it worked?” Asked Mikan

“I think we made progress.” Said Mahiru

“You know, I think we might just pull this off.” Said Hiyoko

“Hell yeah we will.” Said Ibuki

The school day went as normal.

That evening at Hajime’s dorm.

Hajime was reminiscing about his lunch with the girls.

“Maybe I don’t need to do this.” Said Hajime

Hajime’s phone rings

“Hi mom.” Said Hajime

“Hey Hajime.” Said Hajime’s mother

“You never call did something happen?” Asked Hajime

“Listen honey your father got laid off because the company he worked at crashed and we can no longer afford to pay for your tuition at Hope’s Peak so after Christmas break we’re sending you back to your old high school.” Said Hajime’s mother

“What?! No!” Exclaimed Hajime

“I’m sorry sweetie but we have no choice. I gotta go so you get some sleep.” Said Hajime’s mother

Hajime’s Mother hung up

“It’s August so I only have 5 months left here. How will tell Class 77? How will I tell Chiaki?” asked Hajime

Hajime scrolls back to the email he had received last week

“If I do this I can stay but is it the right choice? What do I do.” Hajime thought

“Is talent what I really want or is it….” Said Hajime

Thursday morning main course

Chiaki is playing gala omega while walking to school as usual but she can’t focus. Chiaki feels conflicted she hasn’t stopped thinking about what Mahiru and Peko said last weekend.

Chiaki wasn’t paying attention and bumped into someone which led her to fall on the ground. After she regained her train of thought she looked up to see who it was she had bumped into.

“Oh! Celestia! I’m so sorry.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki helps Celestia up

“It’s alright Chiaki.” Said Celestia

“No it’s my fault I wasn’t paying attention.” Said Chiaki

“Are you ok? You seem troubled?” Asked Celestia

“Chiaki is hiding something but what?” Celestia thought

Hajime was in the hallway panicking. Sure he had 5 months but there’s no way he could tell Class 77 about this

“What should I do? If I tell them that I will leave school they’ll be sad especially Chiaki since she put in all this effort for me to make new friends. But I can’t keep it a secret either I suck at lying, if I try to they’ll find out and I’d be in more trouble. But if that email is true I can finally become the person I want to be. But Chiaki wouldn’t be happy if I went through this just to have Talent. Aaaaaaaah! Why does life have to be so difficult!” Hajime thought

“Huh?” Said Hajime

Natsumi walks out of the classroom

“Why are you out here when class is about to start?” Asked Natsumi

“Just thinking.” Said Hajime

“That was not ‘Just thinking’.” Said Natsumi

“Crap! I forgot how good Natsumi is at reading people.” Hajime thought

“Cmon Hajime, what’s with the funk?” Asked Natsumi

Natsumi peered over Hajime

Hajime knew that Natsumi is relentless and would not stop pestering him until he told her what’s wrong. But there’s no way he could drop the bomb on her because the first thing she would do is tell Fuyuhiko and he’d tell class 77. Hajime didn’t want to answer but he couldn’t say nothing.

“I’m just having a hard time with a decision that all.” Said Hajime

“About what?” Asked Natsumi

“About uh if it’s alright that I’m friends with Chiaki’s classmates.” Said Hajime

“Why would you need to decide about that?” Asked Natsumi

“Well because they’re all amazing.” Said Hajime

Hajime thought for a moment

“Hey Natsumi, if you could join the main course to be with your brother would you do it?” Asked Hajime

Natsumi had a serious expression on her face

“So you feel worthless about being around class 77. Huh?” Said Natsumi

“What?” Said Hajime

With an annoyed expression on her face Natsumi grabbed Hajime’s hand and began walking away from the classroom

“Hey! What’s the big idea?!” Exclaimed Hajime

Natsumi kept walking until they were at the end of the hallway

“If you tell anyone about this I will kill you. Is that Clear?” Natsumi said in a threatening tone

“Yes.” Said Hajime

Natsumi took a deep breath

“When I was little everyone in the Kuzuryu clan thought I was better than my brother and that I should’ve been the heir but I know how great my brother is.” Said Natsumi

Flashback to Fuyuhiko and Natsumi’s Childhood

“My brother has a soft heart for a yakuza and the clan saw it as weakness. The clan would constantly belittle him for being “too soft” even our dad wouldn’t hesitate to cut him down. It got so bad to the point that Fuyuhiko had grown to despise the Clan entirely.” Said Natsumi

Fuyuhiko was beat for not wanting to hurt someone

“Aaaah!” Screamed young Fuyuhiko

“Young master!” Exclaimed young Peko

“Big Brother!” Exclaimed young Natsumi

Peko and Natsumi run to Fuyuhiko’s side

“Stop this he’s just a boy!” Shouted Mrs Kuzuryu

“If he doesn’t man up he won’t be strong enough to become the next head of the clan. This is the only way he’ll learn!” Shouted Mr Kuzuryu

Later than night in Fuyuhiko’s room

“Are you alright young master?” Asked young Peko

“I hate this, why can’t I have a normal life like other kids.” Cried young Fuyuhiko

Young Natsumi peers from behind the door

“Big brother.” Whispered young Natsumi

“As we got older it only got worse.” Said Natsumi

Flash forward to middle school

“I was proud of my brother in every way so I brought up the fact that Fuyuhiko got accepted into Hope’s Peak any chance I got.” Said Natsumi

Middle School Natsumi overheard students in her classroom talking about her

“Natsumi is so arrogant, everyday she brags on and on about how her brother got into Hope’s Peak.” Said middle school student 1

“I know right, she’s acting like she’s the one going.” Said middle school student 2

“I heard that her dad paid her tuition to get to the Reserve course. So technically she is going.” Said middle school student 3

“Ha! Of course he did, no wonder she’s so obsessed with her brother’s enrollment in the Main course. She can’t handle the fact that he was picked and not her!” Said middle school student 4

Middle school Natsumi grunted and walked away.

After school Natsumi went by the Clan’s office

“If they lived my life they would be exactly like me.” Middle school Natsumi thought

Natsumi was walking around her dad’s office. As she’s about to leave she heard two members talking.

“Fuyuhiko’s gotten better but he’s still far from the boss. Why can’t Lady Natsumi be the clan’s heir?” Said Clan member #1

“I know I know, we’d all much rather have Natsumi take over but you know how it works. The oldest living child takes over it’s been like that for generations.” Said Clan member #2

“Well we can change that.” Said Clan member #1

“Wait are you thinking about-“ Said Clan member #2

“Just think with him out of the way the clan will remain in its proper glory.” Said Clan member #1

“I guess but still-“ Said Clan member #2

“I got a plan just follow my lead.” Said Clan member #1

“No.” Whispered middle school Natsumi

Natsumi ran to find her father

“I won’t let them hurt you big brother I promise!” Middle school Natsumi thought

“Those men were going to kill my brother, so I lied to my father about them and he had them killed that night.” Said Natsumi

Later that night

In Fuyuhiko’s room

“Why did you call me here big brother?” Asked middle school Natsumi

“Natsumi did you have father kill them on a false accusation?” Asked middle school Fuyuhiko

“Why would you ask that big brother?” Asked middle school Natsumi

“Natsumi.” Said middle school Fuyuhiko

“Fuyuhiko knew me to well so of course I couldn’t lie.” Said Natsumi

“Yes I did.” Said Middle school Natsumi

“Dammit Natsumi! Why did you do that!” Shouted middle school Fuyuhiko

“They were planning kill you! I couldn’t let them! You should be thanking me!” Shouted middle school Natsumi

“So lying to have them killed was a good idea!” Shouted middle school Fuyuhiko

“It was the only way to protect you! They were talking bad about you and were trying to use the Kuzuryu Clan tradition to their advantage! And besides it was gonna happen away Peko probably would’ve killed them before they could try anything and it would’ve been a worse death!” Shouted middle school Natsumi

“You think I don’t know that the rest of the clan hates me!” Shouted middle school Fuyuhiko

“Big brother!” Shouted middle school Natsumi

“You’re just like dad acting on what you think is right!” Shouted middle school Fuyuhiko

Natsumi gasped

“Even I think you should take over the Clan! You’re everything I’m not, the perfect Yakuza can’t you see that?! You’re the better twin!” Shouted middle school Fuyuhiko

“Big broth-“ said middle school Natsumi

“Even if I died I’d be better off. The Clan and Dad don’t respect me and no one wants to be my friend because of the Kuzuryu name.” Said middle school Fuyuhiko

Fuyuhiko looks down

“Young master.” Said middle school Peko

“Honestly it would’ve been best for everyone.” Said middle school Fuyuhiko

“No it wouldn’t!” Cried middle school Natsumi

Natsumi ran up to Fuyuhiko and hugged him tight

“Huh?” Said middle school Fuyuhiko

“Lady Natsumi.” Said middle school Peko

“You think I enjoy this life either! I hate just as much as you! The fighting, glass breaking, the pain! I hate it I hate it all!” Cried middle school Natsumi

Natsumi was balling her eyes out and Fuyuhiko just stood in shock

“You’re the only good that about this life! Unlike other Yakuzas you have a heart like a human should! Everyone fails to see it but I do! You’ve always been there for me and actually loved me! You’re the best big brother and you deserve the best, that includes the people around you!” Cried middle school Natsumi

“Natsumi.” Said middle school Fuyuhiko

“I don’t want to lead the clan when you’re the best there is! Everyone thinks I’m better than you but I’m not I’m nowhere near your level! We’re going away to Hope’s peak next year but we’ll be in different courses and I’ll be alone! I don’t want that! I don’t want to be left behind! Cried middle school Natsumi

“Natsumi.” Said middle school Fuyuhiko

Fuyuhiko wiped Natsumi’s tears

“You’re an amazing sister, I would never leave you behind.” Said middle school Fuyuhiko

“Huh?” Said middle school Natsumi

“The fact that you did all of this to keep me safe even though it was for your benefit proves that you put the ones you love over yourself. No matter what happens we will always be together even when we’re apart.” Said middle school Fuyuhiko

“Big Brother.” Said middle school Natsumi

Back to the present

“All my life I’ve felt like I was never good enough for my brother, that I had to be nasty to survive. My younger self definitely would’ve done anything to get into the main course. But after he said that I realized that I was good enough. I don’t need talent or need to prove anything to my brother I just need to make memories with him.” Said Natsumi

Hajime was shocked. He never expected Natsumi to have felt that way about talent or the fact the she would do anything for her brother

“I didn’t think you’d feel this strongly about this.” Said Hajime

“Hajime, how much do you care about Chiaki?” Asked Natsumi

“Uh? What brought this on?” Asked Hajime

“Just answer the damn question.” Said Natsumi

“Well I care about her more than anything because she’s my first ever true friend.” Said Hajime

“And would she want to transfer to the main course by any means necessary?” Asked Natsumi

“No. She would probably be upset if I did.” Said Hajime

“Do her classmates make you feel bad about not having a talent?” Asked Natsumi

“No. Well at least not to my face.” Said Hajime

“Hajime!” Shouted Natsumi

“Ok ok no they haven’t!” Shouted Hajime

“Hajime it’s like you keep trying to find a reason to feel bad about yourself.” Said Natsumi

Hajime thinks for a moment

Hajime you need to think about how these thoughts will affect your friendship with Chiaki not just about you.” Said Natsumi

Main Course

The bell rings and it’s now break time

Chiaki went to her locker to get her extra shoes. When she opened it she saw that a letter was placed in between her shoes. Chiaki pulled it out and read it

“Meet me in the game room. — Celestia” read Chiaki

Nagito overhears

“Huh? what could this be about?” Asked Chiaki

Chiaki puts her stuff away and makes her way to the game room to meet with Celestia.

Chiaki opens the door to the game room

“Ah. Chiaki thanks for coming.” Said Celestia

“Hi Celestia. Why did you want to meet up?” Asked Chiaki

“I know your class is waiting on you, so I'll make this quick. I want to talk to you about this morning. And don’t even think about trying to lie.” Said Celestia

“Oh it’s about that ok I’ll tell you.” Said Chiaki

“Ok. I’m listening.” Said Celestia

"I have a friend in the Reserve course; he's actually the first friend I've ever made at Hope's Peak and recently I got my class to meet him." Said Chiaki

"Ok." said Celestia

"But even when we first met last year, my friend has always been down about how he doesn't have a talent. I've tried to reassure him that he's amazing without one but he still feels that way." Said Chiaki

Celestia looks at Chiaki with a concerned expression

"And what if interacting with my classmates only makes him feel worse." Said Chiaki

Chiaki begins to cry

"I'm a terrible friend if I don't see that." Said Chiaki

"Chiaki, you're not a terrible friend." Said Celestia

"Huh?" Said Chiaki

Celestia takes a cloth and wipes Chiaki's tears

"The fact that you got your class to befriend him proves that you do care about your friend's well-being especially given the kind of environment Hope's Peak is." Said Celestia

"Celesta." Said Chiaki

"If you feel that you did him wrong talk to him about this. If he's your closest friend, he would tell you if you were unintentionally making him feel bad." Said Celestia

Chiaki recalls the time that Hajime asked her if she wasn't the Ultimate Gamer.

Flashback

Hajime and Chiaki were playing Gala Omega by the fountain as usual but this time Hajime couldn’t concentrate and lost. Normally Hajime loses to Chiaki but not that easily Chiaki immediately knew something was up.

“You beat me again you truly are the Ultimate Gamer.” Said Hajime

“Your focus was all over the place that’s why you lost.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki glares at Hajime

“This isn’t like you Hajime, what’s on your mind?” Asked Chiaki

“Um well…” Said Hajime

Hajime was trying to put his thoughts together

“If you sucked at video games would you still bother to play them.” Asked Hajime

“Huh?” Said Chiaki

Chiaki thinks for a moment

“I’d want to know how bad I would be. Even if I were horrible I think I’d love em, that’s how great they are.” Said Chiaki

“But what if someone else was the Ultimate Gamer and every time they’d leave your score in the dust?” Asked Hajime

Chiaki remembers what Miss Yukizome said she brought her back to Class

“There’s more to life than just talent.” Said Chiaki

“Huh?” Said Hajime

“Miss Yukizome tells us that all the time. She says talent doesn’t guarantee an interesting life, making memories with others leads to hope and hope is way more important than ability.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki remembers when Miss Yukizome encouraged her to share her passion for gaming with the class. befriending her classmates for the first time and becoming Class Rep gave her the push she needed to start becoming more outgoing and to ask Hajime to play games with her.

“The time we spend together playing games, I like it.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki blushed

"I've never felt this way before." Chiaki thought

“Yeah me too” Whispered Hajime

Hajime blushed

“Huh?” Asked Chiaki

“Yeah this is great fun.” Said Hajime

“In that case let’s keep going.” Said Chiaki

“Huh? But my thumbs are toast can’t we switch it up?” Asked Hajime

“No way. You’re ready for the world of co-op.,” Said Chiaki

"Yes mam." Said Hajime

Back to the Present

"Yeah, you're right. If I was hurting Hajime he would tell me." Said Chiaki

"And since he's clearly the nervous type, talking to him will improve the situation." Said Celestia

Chiaki nods

"Thanks, Celestia." Said Chiaki

Chiaki turns to leave and Celestia waves her off.

Meanwhile Nagito stood at the other end of the hall

Nagito was curious and knowing his luck it was bound to be interesting so he followed Chiaki

"Hmm how interesting." Said Nagito

Reserve course end of the day

Hajime’s POV

Hajime was packing his school bag when he got a message on his phone. it was from Chiaki

"Hey can we talk today?"

Hajime replied

“Sure.”

Hajime begins to head over to the fountain

“I wonder what Chiaki wants to talk about.” Hajime thought

Chiaki’s POV

Chiaki got Hajime’s response and began to head over to the fountain

“I hope this goes well. Oh Hajime how I—.” Chiaki thought

They both make it to the fountain at the same time

“Hey Chiaki so what do you what to talk about?” Asked Hajime

Chiaki thinks for a moment

“Here it goes.” Chiaki thought

“I want to apologize.” Said Chiaki

“Huh? For what?” Asked Hajime

“About everything, I wanted to make you feel like someone but I didn’t realize that I could be making you feel worse. Like with my classmates I jumped in without thinking that interacting with them could make you feel self conscious about yourself.” Said Chiaki

“Oh no, You don’t need to apologize for that.” Said Hajime

“Huh?” Asked Chiaki

“You were just trying to get me some new friends. And the other day Ibuki, Mikan, Mahiru, and Hiyoko had lunch with me.” Said Hajime

“They did?” Asked Chiaki

“Yeah they did and we had a great time. They asked about how we first met and they told me how you brought your class together. You care deeply about all of us and I appreciate that.” Said Hajime

“Oh Thank you Hajime.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki was so relieved

“It looks like I was worrying about nothing.” Chiaki thought

“Although I’ll admit it’s hard being around you ultimates but I’m working on it. I’m gonna try to see myself as an equal to everyone from now on.” Said Hajime

“Hajime.” Chiaki said happily

Chiaki ran up and hugged Hajime

“Huh?” Said Hajime

Hajime’s face was as red as a tomato. His heart was pounding. He was so stunned that he forgot how to breathe

“Ch-Chiaki?!” Exclaimed Hajime

“Chiaki’s hugging me! Oh crap what I do?!” Hajime thought

“Why do I feel so at peace? It’s like everything around me fading away leaving me and Chiaki.” Is this-“ Hajime’s thought

After a minute Chiaki and Hajime pulled away from each other. But they were still a blushing mess.

“So, see you tomorrow at the arcade.” Said Chiaki

“Yeah see you tomorrow.” Said Hajime

Hajime’s POV

Hajime made it back to his dorm still beaming from what just happened

“I can’t believe we hugged, it felt amazing.” Said Hajime

Hajime pulled out his phone

“But I still wasn’t strong enough to tell her about this.” Said Hajime

“I still have plenty of time, I’ll just wait to see if things change. Oh Chiaki you’re an amazing person that for sure. Tomorrow I’m gonna hold my head high next to you.” Said Hajime

Chiaki’s POV

Chiaki was walking back to her dorm happy as can be. Chiaki opened the door to Class 77’s Dormitory and almost bumped into Nagito

“Aah! Oh. Nagito you scared me.” Said Chiaki

“There you are. I was just about to look for you.” Said Nagito

“Look for me?” Asked Chiaki

“You hadn’t come back for a while and we got worried.” Said Nagito

“Oh sorry. I’ll be sure to give you guys a heads up from now on.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki stepped inside

“Oh hey, there you are Chiaki where were you?” Asked Mahiru

“Oh I was just talking to Hajime.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki was still blushing and the class noticed

“Did something happen?” Asked Ibuki

“No, i-it was just a normal talk. That’s all.” Chiaki said embarrassed

“Hmmm. Your face says otherwise like a— aaaah!” Exclaimed Teruteru

Ibuki kicked him into the wall

“Sorry I’m such a clutz.” Said Ibuki

“He’s right though, something clearly happened.” Said Fuyuhiko

“Really guys it was nothing. Oh! Look at the time I should probably get to bed. Good night everyone.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki ran to her room

“Oh she’s got it bad.” Said Kazuichi

“Got what! Is she sick?” Asked Akane

“No Akane, Chiaki’s in love!.” Exclaimed Nekomaru

“Yay! Hajime is winning Chiaki’s heart!” Exclaimed Sonia

“How fascinating, the bond between Hajime and Chiaki has gotten stronger.” Said Gundham

“That’s one way to put it.” Said Peko

“Given how Chiaki was acting something definitely happened between them. So the plan is working.” Said Mikan

“It doesn’t take two brain cells to see that pukey pig.” Said Hiyoko

“Looks like it’s time for phase two!” Shouted Ibuki

“Yep everyone remember your roles?” Asked Ryota

Everyone nodded in agreement

“Ok will pick this up tomorrow.” Said Ryota

Everyone went off to their dorms except for Nagito

“So Hajime a mer Reserve course student caught the heart of our greatest hope huh.” Said Nagito

Chiaki’s POV

Chiaki was laying on her bed thinking about the hug her and Hajime shared

“I love my classmates with all my heart but I’ve never felt such a strong connection with anyone before.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki thinks back to all the times her and Hajime played games together

“Oh Hajime I want to stay by your side forever.” Chiaki thought

Chiaki sits up

“Though I still can’t believe that my friends were seeing Hajime without telling me?” Said Chiaki

Chiaki thinks back to what Hajime said about Ibuki, Mikan, Mahiru, and Hiyoko having lunch with him

“My classmates must be trying hard to befriend him for my sake.” Said Chiaki

“Don’t worry, Hajime isn’t just your friend anymore he’s our friend too. The next time we see him we’ll make sure that he feels like he’s one of us.” Said Sonia

“Really?” Said Chiaki

“Of course we will.” Said Mahiru

Mahiru joins the hug

“All for one right.” Said Mahiru

“Normally I don’t care about these things but Hajime seems like a decent guy.” Said Hiyoko

Hiyoko also joined the hug

“It would suck if you were hung up on this all the time. So I’ll do my best.” Said Hiyoko

The rest of the girls joined the hug

“I don’t know if I can do much but I’ll help out too.” Said Mikan

“Class 77 sticks together right!” Said Akane

“Indeed, no matter what.” Said Peko

“We’ll make sure Hajime’s never feels alone again!” Said Ibuki

“All of my friends are amazing, Oh Hajime things are finally coming around for you. I’m happy I could—.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki and Hajime were sitting on a bench watching the sunset

“Oh what a beautiful sunset.” Said Chiaki

“I know.” Said Hajime

Hajime wrapped his arm around Chiaki

“Chiaki, thank you for everything I never would’ve seen myself or have made new friends if it wasn’t for you.” Said Hajime

Chiaki pulled Hajime into a hug

“To be honest, I should be thanking you, I never had friends before you or my classmates. But now I have more friends I can count.” Said Chiaki

“Chiaki.” Said Hajime

“Hajime, thank you for being in my life.” Said Chiaki

“And thank you for being in mine.” Said Hajime

They leaned in for a kiss

“Aaaaaaaah!”

“Oof.”

Chiaki fell out of her bed

“Ow. Oh it was a dream.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki stands up and turns off her alarm clock

“I guess I should get ready for school.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki went to the girls bathroom to take a shower. All of the girls were there

“Good morning Chiaki.” Said Sonia

“Good morning Sonia.” Said Chiaki

Sonia notices the red bump on Chiaki’s face

“Chiaki. Are you ok? You have a large bump on your face.” Said Sonia

“Oh this. I’m fine I just fell out of bed. That’s all.” Said Chiaki

“You must have taken quite the tumble cuz golly.” Said Ibuki

“Really I’m fine I just ……. had this amazing dream.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki thought back to her dream with Hajime and dosed off

“Could Hajime and I be like that. I know we’re friends but imagine us being more—” Chiaki thought

“Uh Chiaki?” Said Mikan

Hiyoko began waving her hand in front of Chiaki’s face

“Heeeeeeey, earth to Chiaki.” Said Hiyoko

Hiyoko even poked her and Chiaki was still unresponsive

“Uhhh guys I think she’s out of it.” Said Hiyoko

Mahiru walked up to Chiaki and grabbed her shoulders

“Chiaki. Chiaki. Chiaki!” Shouted Mahiru

“Huh!?” Exclaimed Chiaki

“Are you ok?” Asked Mikan

“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just a little sleepy. Once I start getting ready for school I’ll be awake.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki went to take her shower

The girls just stood dumbfounded

“What was that about?” They thought

After Chiaki showered and put her uniform on she when back to her room to fix her hair. As she was putting her hairpin in she noticed a bottle on her dresser. It was a bottle of perfume that she got at the mall on a girls day. Mahiru suggested it to her but Chiaki never had the chance to use it.

“Should I?” Chiaki thought

Chiaki doesn’t normally wear perfume as she thought it was too girly for her but makeovers can do wonders. Reluctantly Chiaki put some of the perfume on and when she smelled it Chiaki felt like a different person.

“Wow.” Chiaki said in awe

Chiaki thought for a moment

“Maybe I should try some other ways to change my look.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki took off her hoodie and went through the rest of her clothes

***10 minutes pass***

“Chiaki! What are you doing? breakfast is almost ready!” Shouted Akane

“Oh right. I’ll be right down!” Shouted Chiaki

Chiaki looked at herself in the mirror. Chiaki had never really cared about her appearance that much and has never had a full makeover so she was a little self conscious.

“Is this me? Sigh. I hope this is enough.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki had ditched her hoodie and just went with her school shirt, She combed her hair down and removed her pin to make herself more sophisticated, and she put some makeup on to look like an ideal girlfriend.

“This isn’t typically me but I wonder if Hajime would like me like this— ah!” Said Chiaki

Chiaki thought back to her middle school days

Chiaki is getting ready to leave for the day when she overhears

“All Chiaki does is play video games, does she even have a life.” Said student 1

“I know right, not to mention she’s always like “this is just like side scrollers.” or “we just do this like a character from detlarorne.” It like she has to include a gaming reference every time she talks. Would it kill her to talk about something else.” Said student 2

“I doubt it, all she cares about is her games. Every day she comes to school and leaves holding her game girl advance playing that stupid gala omega game. What a freak.” Said student 3

“Yeah, she probably be alone for the rest of her life.” Said student 1

“Yeah there’s no way anyone will love a girl who can’t look away from a screen and who talks like an npc.” Said student 3

Class 77 was preparing to eat breakfast together as usual but Chiaki wasn’t there

“Hey where’s Chiaki?” Asked Nekomaru

“That’s weird Chiaki’s normally down here by now.” Said Ryota

Chiaki comes down stairs

“Hey everyone sorry I’m late.” Said Chiaki

“That’s alright we just— huh?!” Exclaimed Mahiru

Everyone looked to why Mahiru had shouted. The second the saw Chiaki they were in shock

“What’s wrong guys?” Asked Chiaki

“Chiaki why do you look like that? I mean you look great but you don’t even look like you.” Said Mahiru

“And is that—?“ Akane says as she smelled the air

“Perfume? Since when do you wear perfume?” Asked Akane

“Could it be? Has our class rep been possessed by a rouge spirit?” Asked Gundham

“No. It’s nothing like that I just thought that I should change up my look a little that’s all.” Said Chiaki

“Uh. I’m sorry but no one just decides to change their look on a whim let alone that much.” Said Ibuki

“Guys I hate to interrupt this but we need to start breakfast.” Said Fuyuhiko

Despite wanting to question Chiaki further Class 77 began eating breakfast

Akane munches on her breakfast

“So good.” Said Akane

“Slow down Akane. You’re gonna choke!” Said Mahiru

“You try slowing down when there’s good food in front or you.” Said Akane

“We eat the same things every day though.” Said Kazuichi

“I can’t blame her. The food at Hope’s Peak is made with the most premium ingredients.” Said TeruTeru

“You can say that again.” Said Ibuki

Peko and Fuyuhiko glanced over at Chiaki and saw that she hasn’t taken even a bite of her food

Chiaki was thinking about her dream so much that she didn’t realize that she was drawing hearts in food

“Hajime.” Chiaki thought as she was thinking back to the other things Hajime has said to her

Back to the Present

“Chiaki.” Said Peko as she tapped Chiaki on the shoulder

“Huh?!” Exclaimed Chiaki

“You’re not eating. Are you alright?” Asked Peko

“Oh, I’m fine.” Said Chiaki

“Are you sure? You seem out of it.” Said Fuyuhiko

Really I’m fine, I was just thinking about something that’s all.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki starts to blush

“Heeey, what’s with the hearts on your pancakes?” Asked Hiyoko

“What hearts?” Asked Chiaki

Chiaki looks down at her plate

“Oh!” Exclaimed Chiaki

Chiaki had drawn hearts all over her pancakes

“Aah! No reason!” Exclaimed Chiaki as she tried to cover the hearts with syrup

“Chiaki, you’ve been acting like this since yesterday. Did something happen with Hajime?” Asked Nagito

Chiaki’s face was red as a rose

“N-No, why do you ask?” Asked Chiaki

“Because your face is bright red.” Said Nagito

“Aah!” Exclaimed Chiaki

Chiaki slapped her cheeks stop herself from blushing

“Everything’s fine!” Exclaimed Chiaki as she gets up, grabs her stuff, and sprints to the door

“Chiaki where are you going? You haven’t finished your breakfast!” Shouted Sonia

“I’m just gonna get a head start to class to regain my focus you guys keep eating!” Shouted Chiaki as she ran out of the dorms

Class 77 didn’t know what to think on what just happened

“Hajime Hinata.” Nagito thought

Chiaki was running to Hope’s peak

“Ugh what is wrong with me? I can even think straight.” Chiaki thought

After awhile Chiaki stops running so she can catch her breath

“I know I can always tell my friends anything but I’ve never felt this way before and it kind of embarrassing.I don’t wanna make a huge deal about this what am I supposed to do.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki turned around and saw a familiar face it was Kyoko Kirigiri from Class 78

“I’ve never seen out this early let alone by yourself.” Said Kyoko

“Oh, hi Kyoko.” Said Chiaki

“Kyoko! She’s in a relationship with Makoto maybe she can help me.” Chiaki thought

“Is something wrong?” Asked Kyoko

“No. I just need some advice.” Said Kyoko

“Advice? On what?” Asked Kyoko

“Kyoko, how were you and Makoto able to get together without it feeling awkward?” Asked Chiaki

“W-what brought this on?!” Kyoko said flustered

“It’s just I have a friend who isn’t in my class and I think I might have a crush on him. But we’ve been friends for so long that it would be weird to start dating and I don’t even know if he likes me back. It’s gotten so bad that I’ve started dreaming about him and he’s all I can think about.” Said Chiaki

“Oh. I see.” Said Kyoko

“What do I do? I see again after school today and I don’t wanna look foolish in front of him.” Said Chiaki

“I’ll admit it was awkward for us at first given that we’ve been friends up until that point. But once we’ve kept going on dates the easier it became.” Said Kyoko

“Oh.” Said Chiaki

“Love isn’t easy, you have to work at it and the more you do it the more comfortable you get with it.” Said Kyoko

“Wow. I never thought about it that way.” Said Chiaki

“Given the kind of person you are I’m sure that you and your friend can make it work. Come on the school will packed soon, we should get there before it becomes too crowded.” Said Kyoko as she began walking

Reserve Course 9 am

Hajime was in class but he was extremely deep thought

Hajime and Chiaki were having a picnic by the fountain the first met

Chiaki hugged Hajime tight and Hajime hugged her back

“Guys what are you doing here?” Asked Chiaki

“Huh?!” Exclaimed Hajime

“What?! Why?!” Exclaimed Chiaki

“Because he’s a liar and you deserve better.” Said Mahiru

“What?! No?! I’m not a liar!” Exclaimed Hajime

“Oh so you aren’t hiding the fact that you’re leaving school?” Said Hiyoko

“Hajime’s, what is she talking about?” Asked Chiaki

“Ok maybe I did keep that a secret but I was gonna tell you all.” Said Hajime

“Then why did we find out from my sister?!” Shouted Fuyuhiko

“What?!” Exclaimed

Hajime turned around and saw

“Hajime Hinata has an even bigger secret. He has a chance to stay a Hope’s peak but he has to become a different person.” Said Yukizome

“Look at this.” Said Yukizome

“No! No!” Screamed Hajime

“I was able to intercept this email.” Said Yukizome

We of the Hope’s peak trustees offer you the deal of a lifetime. You have been selected to become Hope’s peak’s most talented student. You will have every talent the has been researched. Although this procedure runs the risk of altering your personality but you will become the most Ultimate human on earth should you accept. We are eager to hear your response Mr. Hinata

Chiaki and Class 77 gasps

“Yep and Hajime was considering it just so he could stay. Despite all of our attempts to befriend him.” Said Yukizome

“You sick bastard.” Said Kazuichi

“You’re full of Shit.” Said Nekomaru

Mikan began to sob

“H-How could you! We just wanted to be your friends.” Cried Mikan

“After everything you decide to go behind our backs and become a deus ex machina!” Shouted Ibuki

“You conniving snake, may you burn in the pits of Hell for all eternity!” Shouted Gundham

“No! Everyone please listen!” Shouted Hajime

“No you listen, you lied to us long enough!” Shouted Akane

Sonia helps Chiaki to her feet

“Chiaki can’t you see who this guy really is. He doesn’t care about you he only cares about that you’re talented.” Said Sonia

“I—.” Said Chiaki

Hajime stands up and grabs Chiaki’s hands.

“Chiaki let me explain, I know that this looks bad and it’s true but I was gonna tell you honest. We can get through this.” Said Hajime

“Let me go!” Shouted Chiaki as she pulled away

“Huh?”

“You lied to me Hajime. How am I supposed get over it. I’ve tried to help you but you haven’t improved.” Said Chiaki as she turned her back away from Hajime.

“Chiaki wait-!” Exclaimed Hajime

Chiaki turned around one last time

“Goodbye.” Said Chiaki as she, Class 77, Yukizome, Sato and Natsumi walked away.

“No! Wait! Come back!” Exclaimed Hajime

The ground opened beneath Hajime

“AAAAAAAAAH!” Screamed Hajime

Hajime was falling faster and faster the echoes of his tormentors falling close behind

“He has no talent.”

“He can just pay his way in.”

“Do his parents want him to succeed that much?”

“I bet that gamer girl only became his friend because she felt sorry for him.”

“NO! STOP!” Screamed Hajime out loud for his class to hear

“Hinata?”

“Huh.”

A voice snapped Hajime back into reality

“Is everything ok?” Asked reserve course teacher

Everyone was staring at Hajime with a concerned expression

“Uh yeah. I’m fine.” Said Hajime

“Are you sure?” Asked reserve course teacher

“Yeah I’m ok.” Said Hajime

“Ok, let’s continue the reading.” Said reserve course teacher

Hajime looked back down at his book

“What was that?” Hajime thought

Natsumi and Sato glanced over at Hajime

Main Course 10 am

Chiaki’s pov

Class 77 was in the middle of an assignment . Everyone but Chiaki was working

Chiaki thought back to what Kyoko said

“Love isn’t easy, you have to work at it and the more you do it the more comfortable you get with it.” Said Kyoko

Back to the present

“If I do love Hajime then I should tell him but how would I do that? How could I be in a relationship with Hajime when I’m bad at romance?” Chiaki thought

Chiaki thought back to what Ibuki and Sonia said last weekend

“How amazing, Chiaki is in love with Hajime to the point where he is all she can think about!” Said Sonia

“Ibuki sees it now our lovesick Chiaki wants to confess her love but can’t bring herself to so as she thinks Hajime only sees her as a friend. Don’t worry Chiaki we’ll help you get the guy of your dreams.” Said Ibuki

Back to the present

“I got my friends to help me. Considering we were able to help Makoto and Kyoko get together but this is different. Hajime and I have been friends since we were freshman, we should be able to tell each other anything. So why am I doubting myself, I do love him right?” Chiaki thought

Chiaki began scribbling on her paper

“I need to confess, but what if he rejects me. I’m sure he has no reason to reject me but still. Hajime and I have been friends for almost 2 years now and we’ve never expressed any interest in each other let alone done anything romantic. Hajime and I have only met up to play video games nothing more. What if those girls were right and no one would love me. And what if I only make things worse for Hajime, aaaaaaaah!” Chiaki thought

Chiaki’s scribbling was getting faster and louder. Yukizome and Class 77 glanced back to Chiaki’s desk and saw that she was vigorously scribbling with a worried expression on her face

“Chiaki?” Said Yukizome concerned

Yukizome ran over to Chiaki and grabbed her shoulders which was enough to snap her out of it

“Huh?” Exclaimed Chiaki as she dropped her pencil

“Are you alright?” Asked Yukizome

“Yeah I’m ok.” Said Chiaki

“Are you sure? you didn’t look ok and you haven’t started on your paper you just scribbled all over it.” Said Yukizome concerned

Chiaki looked down a her paper covered with scribbles

“Really I’m fine Miss Yukizome, no need to worry. I’ll finish my paper I was just lost in thought that’s all.” Said Chiaki as she was erasing the scribbles she made

“Uh ok.” Said Yukizome as she walked back towards the front of the Class

Chiaki looks back down at her paper

“Ugh. What’s wrong with me?” Chiaki thought

Class 77 knew that something was up with Chiaki and as soon as break time hits they were gonna find out

Reserve Course 11am

“Alright class, I’ve prepared a pop quiz over the reading and had just printed them. However the printer in the our building is out of order so I had to send them to the main course. Please hang tight while I go get them.” Said Reserve course teacher as she left the classroom

Natsumi and Sato knew that their teacher wouldn’t be back for a while so they decided to take the opportunity to question Hajime about his outburst

Sato walked up to Hajime’s desk

“Hajime.” Said Sato

Hajime looked up

“We need to talk now.” Said Sato as she grabbed his hand

“Wha?! Hey!” Exclaimed Hajime as he was being dragged out into the hallway with Natsumi following close behind

“Ok Hajime, what the hell happened to you earlier?” Asked Natsumi

“Nothing, I just hadn’t been getting enough sleep and I had a bad dream.” Said Hajime

“Hajime, we both know that’s not true.” Said Sato

“Really I’m fine.” Said Hajime unconvincingly

“It’s about that gamer girl and her class again isn’t it?” Asked Natsumi

“Sigh. You got me.” Said Hajime

“Ugh. Hajime what is it now?” Asked Natsumi

“Um. I-. um. I might have a crush on Chiaki.” Said Hajime

“Aah!”

Hajime could not believe he just said that

“Ok, I know that this will sound weird but do you think that it would be wrong for me and Chiaki to be together?” Asked Hajime

“Like if we were to go out would it be right. I mean it could look like I’m using her or she accepted out of pity.” Said Hajime

Hajime looked at his hand

“Chiaki is special and I’m not. I don’t think I can deserve someone like her. Chiaki deserves with best and there’s no way I can be that with all the Talented guys at Hope’s Peak.” Said Hajime

Natsumi slaps Hajime

Hajime thinks for a moment but all he can think of is all the things his classmates said about him at his old high school

“I just don’t know. Every time I try to feel like I belong all I can think about is how much of a nobody I am. Back at my old high school my classmates did nothing but talk behind my back when word got out that I was coming to the reserve course. And even now it’s gotten worse some of the other reserve course students have seen me and Chiaki hang out and they think that she only became my friend out of pity.” Said Hajime

“Hajime.” Said Sato

Sato and Natsumi sat down beside Hajime

“I know I promised Chiaki that I would try to feel better about myself and see myself as an equal to her classmates but it’s hard especially because—.” Said Hajime

Hajime stopped and began to blush

“Because—?” Asked Natsumi

“Because Chiaki is the most amazing girl I ever met. She started off as a shy introverted girl who wanted to be alone because all she had was video games. Then she became the symbol of her class because she brought them together by sharing her passion of gaming with them. Class 77 thinks the world of her heck they spied on us because they were worried about her. Class 77 are like a family, they’ve been together for the last two years and I just started to get to know them last week. There’s no way they’ll think I’m good enough for her.” Said Hajime

“Hajime who do you think Class 77 is? Chiaki’s fucking parents?” Asked Natsumi

“Well no but—.” Said Hajime

“It doesn’t matter what they think all that matters is if Chiaki likes you back. If she does then as her friends Class 77 will have to accept it.” Said Natsumi

“Natsumi’s right Class 77 maybe like a family but they’re also their own people and they are free to make their own decisions. And besides you’re a pretty decent guy Hajime, I don’t think Class 77 would be a problem with you dating their class rep.” Said Sato

“I guess but you don’t know that.” Said Hajime

“Wait a minute is that why you asked me about that stuff yesterday? Because you want to transfer to the main course to be with Chiaki?” Asked Natsumi

“Yes, because I want to hold my head high next to her.” Said Hajime

“Hajime remember what I said. you need to think about how these thoughts will affect your friendship with Chiaki not just about you. You said it yourself Chiaki wouldn’t like it if you transferred for any reason and from what I’ve seen and heard she clearly likes you just the way you are.” Said Natsumi

Sato puts her hand on Hajime’s shoulder

“Hajime, as long as you and Chiaki and happy it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.” Said Sato

Hajime thought back to all the times he and Chiaki played games together

“The time we spend together playing games, I like it.” Said Chiaki

“Yeah me too” Whispered Hajime

Hajime blushed

“Huh?” Asked Chiaki

“Yeah this is great fun.” Said Hajime

“In that case let’s keep going.” Said Chiaki

“Huh? But my thumbs are toast can’t we switch it up?” Asked Hajime

“No way. You’re ready for the world of co-op.,” Said Chiaki

"Yes mam." Said Hajime

Back to the present

“You’re right, Chiaki and I have always been happy when we’re hanging out together maybe us getting together isn’t totally out of the question.” Said Hajime

“That’s the spirit.” Said Sato

“Yeah! And if people have a problem with you and Chiaki being a couple then that’s their problem.” Said Natsumi

Hajime stands up

“Thanks girls I needed that.” Said Hajime

Sato and Natsumi stand up

“No problem, we just care about you because you’re our friend.” Said Sato

“And cuz your little freak out gave us the willies, seriously please don’t do that again you sounded like you were going mental.” Said Natsumi

“Right noted.” Said Hajime

Main course break time

Class 77 was on break and they were finally going to get to the bottom of Chiaki’s behavior

“Ok guys I’m gonna head over to Class 78 for a minute.” Said Chiaki as she got up to leave

“Not so fast.” Said Mahiru

“Huh?”

Mahiru grabbed Chiaki’s hand

“You’re not going anywhere until you tell us what is going on with you today.” Said Mahiru

“Really guys, it’s nothing.” Said Chiaki

“Don’t play dumb with us. The day dreaming, the sudden makeover, and the scribbling in class today prove that something happened.” Said Hiyoko

“Nothing happened I had a rough night last night.” Said Chiaki

“Chiaki we know that’s not true. Something is clearly bothering you and we won’t leave alone until you tell us what’s going on.” Said Nagito

Class 77 gasped followed by squealing from Ibuki, Mahiru, and Sonia

“Oh my gosh we knew that something happened yesterday but we didn’t think you had made your move on Hajime!” Exclaimed Ibuki

“How romantic, what a beautiful bond between two souls.” Said Mikan

“Yes, Love has formed between our class rep and Hajime Hinata. For they must have been destined for one another in their previous lives.” Said Gundham

“Huh?” Exclaimed Chiaki

The thought of confessing to Hajime mortified Chiaki. Yes they are close but Chiaki doesn’t know a thing about romance. Heck dating sims are her worst genre. Hajime has been her first real friend since grade school and their relationship never showed any sign of being beyond friendship.

“I know you can confess today at the arcade!” Exclaimed Sonia

“No! I can’t!” Shouted Chiaki

The room went silent. Chiaki had never shouted that loud before.

And don’t get me started on dating sims despite being the Ultimate Gamer I’ve never been good at them probably because I didn’t have much communication skills. And even when getting ready this morning I tried to make myself look like an ideal girlfriend but I look ridiculous this isn’t me. Hajime and I are close but we never showed signs of being into each other until now. What if Hajime only sees me as a friend or he thinks I’m weird for even thinking we could be a thing. I just can’t confess to Hajime when I don’t know how to be a girlfriend.” Said Chiaki as she began to tear up

Class 77 now understood why Chiaki didn’t say anything. She was embarrassed and insecure about her limited knowledge about relationships

“Chiaki.” Said Sonia as she sat down next to her and put her hand on her shoulder

Chiaki looked up

“We didn’t know how much this was bothering you but why didn’t you tell us that you were feeling this way .” Said Sonia

“Because I was embarrassed, I’m your class rep and I was able to bring us and class 78 together but I can’t bring me and my best friend together. It’s kinda pathetic.” Said Chiaki

“No it’s not. You may be our class rep but you’re still human, we don’t expect you to be perfect at everything.” Said Mahiru

“We all have things that we’re not good at. You of all people know that more than anyone, so you shouldn’t feel ashamed.” Said Nagito

“And love is no joke.” Said Miss Yukizome as she popped out of nowhere

Even though it was their second year Class 77 was still not used to Mrs. Yukizome jumpscaring them.

“Where did you come from!?” Exclaimed Kazuichi

“Now Chiaki, there’s more to this isn’t there.” Said Miss Yukizome

Chiaki remembered what she overheard someone boys say about her back in middle school

Flashback

Chiaki had stayed at school late because she had cleaning duty. She was walking down the hallway with a bucket when she heard some guys from her class talking about her.

“So do you have a date for the dance.” Said Middle school boy 1

“No, and all the girls are taken.” Said middle school boy 2

“Not all of them, Chiaki doesn’t have a date. You could take her.” Said middle school boy 3

“You’re joking. You think Chiaki would be a good date to have at a dance.” Said middle school boy 1

“Yeah, I mean she’s pretty but she’s anti-social it’s impossible to strike a conversation with her.” Said middle school boy 2

“No to mention she’s a total weirdo. Even if you manage to get a word in with her all she talks about are video games. She’ll probably try to get you to spend the dance at the arcade.” Said middle school boy 1

“Yeah you’re right Chiaki would definitely not be a good choice for a date or even a girlfriend in general.” Said middle school boy 3

Chiaki was hurt but she just walked away pretending she didn’t hear that

Back to the present

Chiaki took a deep breath

“Yeah, In middle school I overheard some boys say that I wouldn’t be a good girlfriend because of my passion for gaming. I’m worried that if I confessed to Hajime he’ll think I’m weird.” Said Chiaki

“1. Those guys are assholes who don’t know an amazing girl when they see one. 2. It doesn’t matter what they say, Hajime is the only person whose opinion matters.” Said Ibuki

“Yeah, Chiaki you’re the most amazing person we know. Any guy would be lucky to have you. If Hajime likes you back that’s great but Hajime only sees you as a friend that will be awkward but still good.” Said Ryota

“And if he thinks you’re weird he’s got another thing coming.” Said Fuyuhiko as he clenched his fists

A chill went down Chiaki’s spine

“Young Master your hostility is showing.” Said Peko

“He’s right though, no one calls our class rep weird.” Said Akane

“If Hajime says something out of line today I’ll tie him into a Tsumiki pretzel.” Said Hiyoko

“This again!” Squealed Mikan

“You guys.” Said Chiaki

“Chiaki I understand that rejection is not an easy thing to deal with but think about it if Hajime doesn’t like you back then it’s his loss.” Said Mahiru

“If Hajime Hinata were to reject the opportunity that you give him Chiaki he would regret it.” Said Gundham

“You two are friends right, so in theory Hajime shouldn’t have any reason to reject you.” Said Nekomaru

“Yeah, and you have us, we’ll be there for you every step of the way.” Said Sonia as she hugged Chiaki

“Really?” Asked Chiaki

“Of course Chiaki class 77 sticks together no matter what. And we certainly don’t face our dilemmas alone. Now tell me Chiaki what does Hajime think about you?” Asked Miss Yukizome

“What does Hajime think about me?” Asked Chiaki

Chiaki thought about what happened yesterday

Flashback

“I want to apologize.” Said Chiaki

“Huh? For what?” Asked Hajime

“About everything, I wanted to make you feel like someone but I didn’t realize that I could be making you feel worse. Like with my classmates I jumped in without thinking that interacting with them could make you feel self conscious about yourself.” Said Chiaki

“Oh no, You don’t need to apologize for that.” Said Hajime

“Huh?” Asked Chiaki

“You were just trying to get me some new friends. And the other day Ibuki, Mikan, Mahiru, and Hiyoko had lunch with me.” Said Hajime

“They did?” Asked Chiaki

“Yeah they did and we had a great time. They asked about how we first met and they told me how you brought your class together. You care deeply about all of us and I appreciate that.” Said Hajime

Back to the Present

“He likes how much I care about all of you.” Said Chiaki

“Alright, do you plan on harping on your feelings about Hajime.” Said Miss Yukizome

“No. I do want to confess my feelings but I’m not ready.” Said Chiaki

“Chiaki, you won’t move past this until you’re ready to be honest with yourself. So do you like Hajime or not.” Said Miss Yukizome

Chiaki’s heart began pounding

“I…I”

Chiaki takes a deep breath

“I do! I do like Hajime and I want to go out with him!” Exclaimed Chiaki

“That’s the Chiaki we know. See that wasn’t so hard. Chiaki I know these things can be scary but holding it in isn’t healthy. You should always be honest with your feelings. And when you do you’re your best self.” Said Miss Yukizome

“You’re right I shouldn’t have tried to deal with this on my own. I’m sorry for worrying you all I should’ve told you about how I was feeling.” Said Chiaki

“It’s ok Chiaki.” Said Miss Yukizome

“If something is wrong don’t hesitate to come to us.” Said Sonia

Chiaki felt relieved. It felt really good to get that off her chest.

“My friends are amazing but I’m still not ready to confess yet.” Chiaki thought

After school Friday

Class 77 was walking to meet Hajime at the fountain

“Are you sure you’re ok?” Asked Peko

“Yes. I’m fine.” Said Chiaki

Chiaki’s heart began pounding again

“I just need to be honest with my feelings like Miss Yukizome Said. But I still don’t feel like I’m ready.” Chiaki thought

Class 77 made to the fountain where Hajime was waiting. Just like last week they greeted him and as how he was. Hajime was happy to see them but then he noticed Chiaki and her new look and began to blush

“Chiaki you look so. So—.” Hajime thought

“Whoa Chiaki. You look different.” Said Hajime

Chiaki began to blush

“O-Oh this. Well I thought about changing my look today. I know I look weird and I go back to normal tomorrow.” Chiaki as her face turned bright red from embarrassment

“N-No you don’t look weird. I think you look beautiful.” Said Hajime

“Ah! did I just say that out loud!” Hajime thought while his face turned red from embarrassment

Chiaki’s cheeks then turn to a bright pink

“Really?” Asked Chiaki

“Uh. Yeah you look like you just stepped out of a rose garden.” Said Hajime

“Oh my god. Did I actually just say that.” Hajime thought

Chiaki smiled and it was the happiest smile the Class 77 has ever seen. Class 77 knew that it was time for Phase 2.
