“Landon, umm Malivore, is subdued in the gym. There’s boundary spells and everything.” Alaric said, nervous.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” He asked.
“I got the spell. It’s something my father did when I was possessed by the Hollow. I have to try, Dr. Saltzman, Landon is still in there.” she replied, heading to the gym where MaliLandon was passed out on an old twin mattress, a thin old sheet covering him.
He looked so peaceful sleeping, almost like she could forget he was possessed.
She chanted the words as she held his hand.
She was thrust into the darkness before reaching his mind, a place full of doors. She looked behind each one before she found him behind a battered, old one locked in the cage.
“I hate small spaces…” He whispered,
She placed her hands on the bars.
“Hush, I’m here. I’m here, Landon, I’m here.” She said softly.
“You’re not real! He’s torturing me again, making me see things. Making me think you’re coming to rescue me!” He screamed.
“I am…I am, baby. As real as when you kissed me in the crypt, as real as when you held me in your arms.” She stated softly
“Hope?” He questioned.
“It’s me. Baby, it’s me. You can fight him, fight this, fight for us. You promised you always would.” She replied just as softly.
“I did..” He said, before grabbing her hand.
“Fight for me, baby. I need you. God, I need you. I know you’re strong and brave. So strong.” She whispered softly.
“I can’t.” He replied.
“That’s what I thought. I’ve been through this and I won. Baby, I understand what you’re going through, how you must feel.” She whispered softly as she kissed his knuckles.
“He’s too strong.” He stated, strongly.
“You’re stronger than you think, Landon, no matter how you feel right now. You’re my brave knight.” She replied
“I will, you’re stuck with me.” He said with confidence.
“That I am, my King. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” She responded, giggling.
“I will fight for us, for me. So I can kiss and make love to you again.” He replied.
Suddenly Hope was pulled away from his arms and his mind.
“Nice try, Tribrid. This is my body now and my weak son can’t do anything about it. Neither can you.” He hissed.
“We’ll see.” Hope replied, leaving and shutting the cell door.
