My sister-in-law, Hana, is a 27-year-old alpha and she is my husband's, half-sister. She was the product of their omega mom's infidelity. My alpha mother-in-law rejects having anything to do with her but comprised a civil relationship. My sister-in-law and Hajime have a very good relationship. My sister-in-law is very clingy and almost touchy with Hajime. But that's understandable because he was the male figure in her life.
Hajime is very protective of Hana and generally doesn’t condone anything malicious being said about her, which is why I'm scared of mentioning this to him. I don't want him to misunderstand.
So this is what happened.
Hajime and I got married a little over a year ago and bought a house that has an indoor swimming pool. We were excited about moving and the house and starting their own lives. His sister-in-law, Hana, was also super excited, especially about the pool, and asked if she and Chika, her omega friend could come sometime. Of course, Hajime being the caring brother, agreed and just said that they could come after notifying them.
Hana and Chika have used it many times before but rarely when Hajime is home because he is a lawyer and works long hours. But due to covid and lockdown, he started working from home.
After a few weeks, we found out that I was pregnant and was 4 weeks along. When wr announced it to the family, all of them were happy and celebrating in their own homes, but Hana looked... shocked. And almost like she doesn't support us. But she still congratulated us and asked if she and Chika could go to our house to swim. I was a bit hesitant since I was pregnant and didn't want to expose the baby to anything risky. They then asked that if they quarantine themselves for two weeks, would it be okay to go and Hajime said it okay.
Two weeks later they go to our house. Hajime was in his office working so they go straight to the pool. After a few hours, Hajime comes out to hang out with us in the kitchen. Hana walks in to get a drink and she starts talking to Hajime. Before she goes back to the pool, she says “Chika’s going to be so happy to see you”. It was weird because Hajime and Chika weren't close.
Chika comes into the kitchen two minutes later and spends the rest of her time talking to Hajime until he excuses himself to get back to work. She’s super giggly and smiley when she talks to him. He would say something sarcastic and she would laugh like it was the funniest joke she’s ever heard. It honestly felt like she was flirting with him.
Before she went back to the pool, she gave me this weird smirky look.
Before they leave, they ask Hajime if he’s working from home every day of the week, he confirms he is.
The next two weeks, they come over to the house to ‘swim’ every single day. Except, Chika never gets in the water. Instead she hangs around the house in her bikini (she was previously wearing a one-piece if it makes a difference) every single day. Whenever Hajime comes out to hang around me, she quickly interrupts him and keeps him talking until he has to go back to work.
When it was lunchtime I made lunch for them all and when he excused himself to call his husband down, Hana quickly stopped him and said Chika could call him for Tooru.
They shared a look and Chika looked really happy when she went to get him. Chika has also started to get touchier with Hajime. She’s put her hands on his chest and arms, stands or sits really close to him. To Hajime’s credit, he does usually create space between them whenever she does something like this.
The reason I believe that Hana is encouraging and supporting Chika on this is because she’s made a few pregnancy-related jabs at me recently when Hajime is not around. She told him a story about how one of her friend’s boyfriends was cheating on her and then said something along the lines of “did you know a lot of men start cheating when their wives are pregnant?”
She’s also made comments about how I looked chubby now and it looks weird next to my husband because he’s ‘well-built’. If she spots Hajime out of the office she quickly goes to inform Chika.
I know that pregnancy hormones can mess with a person’s brain so I'm wondering if I'm just looking for something that isn’t there.
Hana sent him a text yesterday asking if they could come over to swim next week and I really want to say no but he knows she’ll whine to Hajime if I do. I ideally want to have a conversation with him before then but he's not sure if he should mention the flirting.
I was overthinking and I didn't want Hajime to be angry with me :(
