Chapter 1: The Labyrinth City

Chapter Text

After the Guardians returned from another world, Ryu’s father mentioned another world they should visit. Even though they just came back, they wanted to go on another adventure so the four Guardians Ryu, Yumi, Takeshi, and Mitsuko head to the world, which was Is it Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon or Danmachi for short.

“So this is Orario,” said Takeshi.

They were in line, waiting to enter the city. According to the information Ryu’s father gave to them, the city is separated into eight sections like a pie. They waited about five minutes and could see the gate with guards watching and a muscular man wearing a red and yellow elephant mask over his face. Has an orange sash over his right shoulder and wraps it around his waist.

“That guy sure wears a lot of gold,” said Takeshi.

“Ryu, do you think the muscular guy is a god,” said Mitsuko.

“I am Ganesha, please state your name, gender, etc.”

Takeshi heard that name before and couldn’t remember where. “Ganesha isn’t that also the name of the-”

“The Hindu God,” said Mitsuko.

“10,000 Valis!”

They saw a boy in front, looking shocked.

“10,000 just to live here, man, that’s expensive,” said Takeshi.

“Next,” Ganesha shouted.

The four told their names and gender, told him they would like to be permanent residents, and paid the 10,000 valis.

“I am Ganehsa and welcome to Orario.”

“Thank you, Ganehsa. Have a good day,” said Ryu.

“Your welcome traveler. Next”

They entered the gate and noticed a tower that was huge. According to their father, that tower is Babel. Babel was built to keep the monsters from escaping. “I don’t know about you guys, but I’m going to fight some monsters in the dungeon, so see you guys later,” Takeshi stormed to Babel.

“He really wanted to fight some monsters,” said Yumi.

“He treats every world like a video game,” said Ryu.

“I’m going to see if I can find an inn for us to stay in,” said Mitsuko.

“Good idea, sis.”

She leaves the two alone. Ryu then realized something.

“Is something wrong?” asked Yumi.

“Takeshi won’t be able to enter.”

“What do you mean?”

“You have to join a Familia,”

“What’s a Familia?”

“A familia is a group formed by the gods.”

They turned their heads to the right, where they heard the voice and saw a boy who was looking at Babel.

The boy had white hair and red eyes. He wore a brown coat with a small black patch on the right side above the chest, along with a long-sleeved black shirt underneath the coat. His pants were black, had a beige belt with a silver buckle, and shin-high boots.

Ryu recognised him right away, and it was the same boy at the gate.

“But personally I see a familia as being a part of God's family. Are you guys interested in joining a familia?”

“That depends on the familia,” said Ryu.

“How do you join one?”

“In order to join a familia you must ask god or goddess to join there familia. I’m actually going to find a familia to join. You guys can join me.”

“Sure, I don’t mind.”

“Neither do I.”

“Great, come on, I know a few familias we can try. Sorry for the late introduction, but my name is Bell Cranel.”

“I’m Yumi Yuzuki.”

“And My name is Ryu Phoenix. It's nice to meet you.”

“Ryu Phoenix!?” Bell shouted in shock. “Your… Akumu’s son.”

“That’s right.”

“How do you know about his father?”

“Akumu was part of Zeus’s familia. He was one of the strongest adventurers, level 7.”

He goes on how he and Zeus’s familia fought and protected Orario until the one-eyed black dragon came. They lost the battle and their captain. Zeus was then exiled from the city and the familia was disbanded.

“Do you know what happened to the rest of the adventurers?”

“From what my grandfather told me, they all eventually died.”

“I see.”

“Is your father alive?”

“Yes. He’s the reason we know of this place.”

“Is he here with you guys?”

“No, it’s just me, Yumi, my brother, and sister.”

“What about you?”

“I came here alone.”

After their conversation the three went off looking for familias. They first tried to join the Ganesha familia, but he told them sorry but maybe next time. Although he was interested in Ryu, he told the god that he’ll think about it. They try another familia, which she said the same thing that Ganesha said, but Ryu can tell she was telling them to fuck off mostly to Bell, and just like with Ganesha she was wanted Ryu but he gave the same answer to her. The more familias they went to, the more rude they were, eventually shutting down in front of them. Some never answered the door. Bell was wondering why Ryu turned down the gods and goddesses they met.

It was getting dark, and they couldn’t find a familia to join. Ryu and Yumi weren’t upset, but Bell was the opposite.

“Well, it sucks we couldn’t join, but there’s always tomorrow, right Bell,” Ryu assures him.

“Yeah, you're right,” Bell smiled.

“Hey Ryu.”

They saw Mitsuko and Takeshi walking towards them. “Hey guys,” said Yumi.

“I was looking forward to fighting, but some elf lady told me I couldn’t because I had to join a familia,” Takeshi complained.

“Don’t worry Takeshi, we'll find one tomorrow for now let’s get something to eat,” said Ryu.

“I found an inn that we can stay at,” said Mitsuko.

“What’s the place called?” said Ryu.

“Hostess of Fertility.”

“Hostess of Fertility is a pub, but I guess they turned it into an inn,” said Bell.

“Hey Ryu, who's the white hair boy,” said Takeshi.

“Hang on, wasn’t this the boy at the front gate,” said Mitsuko.

“My name is Bell Cranel. You two must be Ryu’s siblings.”

“Ryu’s our older brother and I’m Takeshi, by the way.”

“And I’m Mitsuko, it's nice to meet you.” Mitsuko shakes Bell’s hand.

“So you guys are twins. Must be nice to have siblings, Mr. Ryu,” said Bell.

“You don’t have siblings,” said Ryu.

“I don’t. I’m an only child. I wish I had a little sister or big brother.”

Bell tells them he used to live with his grandfather in a village deep in the mountains. His grandfather read many stories about heroes. He also told them his grandfather saved him from a goblin.

“Come on, you guys, I’m starving,” said Takeshi.

“Alright, follow me, you guys,” said Mitsuko.

“Why don’t you join us, Bell,” said Ryu.

“You want me to tag along?”

“Of course I would like to get to know you better.”

He agrees to join them. The five head to the Hostess of Fertility.

The building was two stories, mostly made of stones. The place looked nice and neat. The front entrance has double doors with wood carvings decorating the frame. The window frames and the front of the building also have wood carvings.

“So this is the Hostess of Fertility,” said Takeshi.

They entered inside and found a table to sit at.

“Seems busy, doesn’t it,” said Bell.

“Lots of adventures here,” said Takeshi.

“The inside looks cozy,” said Mitsuko.

“I agree I’m glad you found this place,” said Yumi.

“Hey Mitsuko, you came,” said a waitress.

The waitress’s uniform has this leaf green color with a white apron, headband, a small orange bow under the collar, black leggings, and short brown ankle boots.

“Hey Syr, nice to see you again.”

“Do you know this woman?” said Ryu.

“While I was looking around, I saw Syr with bags of food and thought of helping her, then she invited me to have lunch.”

“It’s nice to meet all of you,” said Syr.

Syr has bluish grey hair and eyes. Her hair was tied into a small knot, looking like a ponytail.

“What would you all like to have for tonight?” Syr smiled.

Bell blushed a little seeing how pretty this waitress is. He looked at the menu and realized the food was expensive.

“Don’t worry about the payment I got you,” said Ryu.

“No, you don’t have to do that,” Bell stuttered.

“I insist.”

Sry took their order and smiled, “I'll be right back.”

While waiting, Ryu asked Bell why he wanted to become an adventurer. He told them the stories he and his grandfather read inspired him to become a hero.

“I’m sure your grandfather is proud of you,” said Mitsuko.

“Yeah, I’m sure,” said Bell with a weak smile.

“Is something wrong, Bell?” Mitsuko asked.

“My grandfather actually passed away about a few months ago.”

“I’m so sorry I should’ve never asked you that.” Mitsuko felt guilty.

“I’m sorry for your loss,” said Ryu.

“Hey there’s no reason to be upset.”

Everyone went silent until Bell asked them why they wanted to be adventurers, but Takeshi told him they are adventurers.

“Here’s your food, enjoy,” said Syr.

Bell and Ryu both got noodles, Takeshi had 3 roasted meats, while Mitsuko ordered soup, and Yumi had one roasted meat.

“Thanks for the food,” said Bell.

Syr smiled and went back to work.

“Damn, this meat is good,” said Takeshi.

“Here Ryu, ah,” Yumi cut a piece of the meat and offered it to him.

Ryu takes a bite. “Yeah, the food seems good here.”

“Hey Mr. Takeshi, what do you mean you guys are adventures? You guys aren’t in a familia”

“If I was, I would’ve entered the dungeon.”

“Then you're not an adventurer then.”

“Okay, Mr. Smartypants, what is an adventurer then?” Takeshi smirked.

“Adventures are people with statuses that explore the dungeon. Adventures are grouped into two different classes, the Low Class and the High Class.”

Low Class adventures are level 1, while High Class are level 2 or higher. He then talks about when an adventurer reaches level 2 there Third Class Adventures. Second Class Adventures are level 3-4 and First Class Adventurers level is 5 or higher.

“Sounds like we’re in a video game,” Takeshi whispered.

“I guess that’s what adventurers are in this world,” Mitsuko whispered to her twin brother.

Bell looked at the twins. “I’m sorry If I offended you.”

“Don’t sweat it, man, I'm not upset. Where we come from, we’re adventurers,” said Takeshi.

“I’m confused.”

“If you're wondering what Takeshi meant by that, let me explain. We’ve traveled to many places and fought many creatures, but no matter what, we always had fun because we spent time together,” said Ryu.

“Oh, I understand. So what brought you guys here?”

“We came here because our father told us about this place and we wanted to check it out.”

“Our parents lived here,” said Mitsuko.

“Your father was in Zeus’s familia?”

“Really that’s amazing I’m sure Zeus would welcome us with open arms.”

“Yeah, he would’ve if only he wasn’t forced to leave Orario fifteen years ago.”

“What do you mean?”

“From what Bell told us, Zeus’s familia failed to defeat One Eyed Black Dragon. After Zeus left, many familias wanted our father to join, but he and mother left the city.”

“What familia was your mother in?”

“We don’t know. Father never told us,” Takeshi said with food in his mouth.

“We would’ve known, but you left right away,” said Mitsuko.

“It’s not my fault father’s information was getting boring.”

“You just wanted to go to the dungeon.”

“Yeah, but in the end I couldn’t and it sucks.”

“Don’t worry We’ll find a familia tomorrow,” said Ryu.

“Speaking of which, excuse me, waitress,” Ryu shouted.

The waitress that came to the table was a beautiful elf. She had sky-blue eyes, yellowish green hair, and her skin was as white as the snow.

“Is there something you need?”

“Are there rooms we can rent for a few days?”

“Let me check with the owner.”

She walks up to a big woman with brown hair, a ponytail, and brown eyes. She wears the same uniform as the rest of the employees, but hers was a dark shade of blue. The woman walks up to their table with a smile on her face. She said, “Tonights your lucky night we got some rooms for you guys to rent.”

“Thank you, Mrs,” said Ryu.

“Grand, Mia Grand. It’s a way of thanking you for helping Syr. Speaking of which, Syr, Ryuu,” Mia called out the maids.

Syr and the elf waitress walked up to the table by Mia’s side.

“Can you two take our guests to their rooms?”

“Yes mam,” said Ryuu.

“Yes, Mrs. Grand,” said Syr.

The waitresses took them upstairs, where they would sleep.

Ryuu looked at Mitsuko. “Mitsuko was it.”

“Yes.”

“We don’t let customers stay for the night, but because of your kindness and being new to the city, Mrs. Grand allowed you to stay for a few nights.”

“It was nothing, just wanted to help, that’s all.”

“Here are the keys to the room.” Syr hands the keys to them.

They all head to their rooms.

Takeshi and Mitsuko’s room

“Man, I can’t believe it,” said Takeshi.

“What is it,” said Mitsuko.

“We traveled many worlds and fought in many dungeons. I understand the guild's part, but joining a familia it’s stupid.”

“Why do you have a problem with joining a familia? Mother and father joined one.”

“I just don’t see the point. You just get God's blessing to stay alive but we never needed a god’s blessing in other worlds.”

“That may be true but we’re in this world now and this world works differently so you might as well get used to it.”

“Yeah, you're right.”

The twins went to bed.

Bell’s Room

“I can’t believe I actually made it. I might not be in a familia right now or have a lot of valis but I made some friends who are also new to the city. They are planning to become adventurers just like me so I hope we can join the same familia. I can’t wait for tomorrow.” said Bell.

Ryu woke up looking at the window. The sun was shining on him. Then he turned his head to see Yumi. He was shocked to see her on his bed. He then noticed her arms wrapping around his upper chest. “Hey Yumi, it is morning time to get up,” said Ryu.

“Good morning Ryu,” Yumi smiled while slowly opening her eyes.

She then placed her head on his chest. He can’t help but blush.

“You know there's another bed, right?” said Ryu.

“What’s the problem? We used to do this when we were children.” said Yumi.

“I know but-”

They hear knocking, then the door opens to see Takeshi and Mitsuko.

“Good morning Ryu and Yumi-” Mitsuko was about to finish her sentence only to see Ryu and Yumi in the same bed.

“Sorry to interrupt. Come on, sis, let's leave these two alone,” Takeshi teased, shutting the door.

“He just loves to tease you, doesn't he?” said Yumi.

“Yeah he does,” said Ryu with an annoyed yet smile on his face.

“Shall we?”

“Yeah let’s get out of bed.”

The two changed into normal clothes and left the room to meet the twins downstairs.

“So, did you two have fun last night,” Takeshi continued to tease.

“Takeshi, would you stop,” said Mitsuko.

“Don’t worry, little sis, it’s fine.”

“So what’s the plan, bro?”

“Why don’t we try finding a familia to join?”

“Hey Mitsuko.” They turned their heads to see Syr and Ryuu.

“Good morning, Syr and Ryuu.”

“Did you guys sleep well,” said Ryuu.

“Yeah, we did, especially these two,” said Takeshi.

“It’s not very nice to make fun of people.”

“Huh. This elf can tell I was joking and not only that, but you really don’t show that much facial expression, do you?”

“Everyone knows you joke around. I bet Bell would know,” said Yumi.

“Speaking of Bell, is he awake?” said Syr.

They hear footsteps running downstairs and see Bell. “Oh, good, you guys didn’t leave,” said Bell.

“Good morning, Bell,” said Sry.

“Perfect timing, we're about to head out. Do you want to join?” said Ryu.

“Yes,”

“Then let’s go.”

They were about to head out until Sry called for them.

“What is it?” said Yumi.

“Me and Ryuu are going shopping for food. I was hoping Mitsuko can help us,” said Syr.

“Ryu?” Mitsuko looked at him.

“Yumi, why don’t you and Mitsuko help Sry and Ryuu with the shopping. We three would go look for a familia.”

“Ok. You three be safe,” said Yumi.

“Hold on, aren’t we going to eat breakfast first,” said Bell.

“It seems your friend doesn’t mind skipping a meal,” said Ryuu.

They realized Takeshi had left the building, Ryu and Bell left to find Takeshi while searching for a familia.

“Hey where did he go?”

“He probably went ahead of us, but he doesn’t know where to find familias.”

“Should we look for him?”

“There's no need to. He always goes off on his own.”

The two went to different familias, and with the same result as yesterday. They kept doing it for hours.

Takeshi didn’t want to go looking for a familia, so instead he went to Babel. He knew he couldn’t go to the dungeon, so he pulled his black cloak, covered his head with a hood, and sneaked to the entrance.

The entrance was the first underground floor. It had a ten meter hole that leads straight down to the dungeon. The stairs were gentle and spiraled down.

While walking down Takeshi listen to the other adventures about the first floor.

The first floor had a wide hallway that was known as the Beginning of Road and had goblins and kobolds. “Move punk.”

He felt someone pushed him a little. He saw a man with grey hair and wolf ears. He was about to say something until an elf apologized for her friend's rude behavior. He told them it was nothing, then a small boy noticed he had a knife as a weapon. “A knife won’t get you anywhere,” the boy commented.

“I’ll manage,” Takeshi responded.

“Finn, don't bother speaking to this kid, he's a level one and his status is probably around I to H,” said the wolf guy.

Finn’s thumb started throbbing after Takeshi walked past him and continued his walk down the dungeon.

“Finn, what’s wrong?” said the elf.

He wondered if the boy was a threat or not.

After entering, he sees goblins. “Piece of cake,” he smirked. He charges and slices the goblins. “No matter what world I enter into, goblins are always the weakest monsters. Suddenly he gets bitten by a kobold. Kobolds are dog headed monsters.

The monster dug his teeth and claws into his body. He screamed in pain. He struggled, but couldn’t shake it off. He saw the knife on the ground. He bit the Kobold back, which made the creature let go. He grabbed and slit its throat out. After picking up the magic stones and some other items from the monsters he returned to the surface and luckily for him he was able to exchange magic stones into valis from the guild he just made sure not to be spotted by the elf that told him he couldn’t enter.

He knew couldn’t be seen with blood on him so he climbed on top of the building that was next to the Hostess of Fertility. He noticed the window was open, then jumped across and entered his room. He cleans up the blood, then he hears a knock. He panics and quickly heads to the bed, covers himself in the bedsheets and fakes sleeping. The door opens, Syr and Ryuu look to see Takeshi in bed. Syr placed her finger on lips signaling to be quiet. She slowly shut the door and went downstairs. Ryuu felt the wind blowing through her hair. She was about to shut the window only to notice a blood hand mark on the stool and saw blood on the floor that led to his room. She knows Takeshi sneaked in, but wondered why there was blood. She cleaned up the mess and made a note to herself to keep an eye on him.

The sky was turning orange, and the boys were heading back to the Hostess of Fertility. When they entered, they were welcomed by Yumi and Mitsuko.

“What’s with the outfits?” said Bell.

“I wanted to find a job, and the manager was kind enough to hire me,” said Mistuko.

“I’m helping until you find a familia. Speaking of that, have you found one?” said Yumi.

“No, sadly,” said Ryu.

“Sorry to hear that. Come on in, you two must be hungry.”

They entered and got a table. The girls brought their food and started eating. Mitsuko then noticed someone wasn’t with them.

“Where’s Takeshi?”

“We haven’t seen him since we left,” said Bell.

“I thought he was helping you guys.”

“Oh, don’t worry, he’s here.” Syr joined the conversation.

“Where?” Ryu asked.

“In his room sleeping.”

“I wonder why?” said Bell.

“All we did was just go look for familia, so why would he be sleeping?” Ryu thought to himself. After the meal, they head straight to bed.

For the past few days, everyone did their usual thing. The girls helped around the pub while the boys went to find familias, but Takeshi continued his dungeon routine. What he didn't know was that Ryuu was watching him. She wore a green flower-shaped hooded, a white sleeveless top underneath. She also wears long brown gloves and boots, with a white sash around her waist where she keeps her wooden sword and a pair of short swords. She covered her face with the same material as her hood. The boy enters the dungeon. She thought of following him, but returned to the pub. Before she left the guild, someone called her name. She turned her head to see two similar faces, an elf and a half-elf. “Eina and Riveria.”

“It’s been awhile. Did you just come back from the dungeon?” said Riveria.

“No, I was monitoring someone.”

“Who?”

“A guest that’s staying at the pub.”

“Let me guess, he had a knife as a weapon.”

“Yes.”

“He also had short black hair and was wearing a black hood.”

“That’s also correct. You know him?”

“Yesterday my familia and I were heading to the dungeon, and we passed him. After the dungeon, I saw him jumping from one roof to another.”

“What’s his name? I might know him,” said Eina.

“Takeshi Phoenix.”

“Takeshi?!”

“Do you know him?”

“He tried to enter the dungeon, but I told him he needed to join a familia. If he’s sneaking into the dungeon, I’ll have to report this.”

“Hold on, Eina.” Ryuu grabbed the half-elf’s arm before she left the desk.

“What?”

“I'll try to convince him to stop.”

“If Loki was interested in Ryu, then perhaps the same can be said with his younger brother,” said Riveria.

Eina was shocked but decided to let it slide for now. “I don’t see why he can’t find one?”

“From what I heard, his brother Ryu has been looking for a familia to join.”

“Loki offered to join but turned her down,” said Riveria.

“Most gods and goddesses have offered the same thing,” said Eina.

“I wonder why he would turn them down?”

“He didn’t exactly turn them down,” said Ryuu.

“What do you mean?”

“From what his sister told me was he’s checking every familia then they’ll have a discussion about whom to join.”

Riviera heard Finn calling. She said goodbye and followed her group to the dungeon.

“I should get going. It was nice seeing you again,” said Ryuu.

She was about to leave, but turned her head. “Goddess Astraea was wondering how you're doing?”

“I’ve been working at the guild for so long I forgot to write her letters,” said Eina with an upset look on her face.

“Don’t worry, I’ll let her know you’ve been busy.”

“It’s okay I’ll write to her after.”

“Alright then. Goodbye Eina.”

“Bye Ryuu.”

For a few hours, Ryu and Bell return to the pub with nothing. Sry tried to cheer Bell up, but went to his room instead and skipped eating. Sry looked at the group with a worried look on her face. Ryuu heard a noise upstairs and knew that it was Takeshi. She excuses herself and goes upstairs, only to see Takeshi shutting the window.

“What are you doing?”

“Ryuu?” He was surprised to see the elf by the stairs. “Well, you see, there were so many people by the entrance I thought climbing the window would be the fastest way,” he stuttered. While it wasn’t a lie, she knew the real reason.

“Sneaking into the dungeon is a serious crime that can get banned from the city,” she said this while staring at him with a blank expression.

Takeshi’s expression went from being shocked to an annoyed look. “Why don’t you mind your own business.”

“Do they know?”

“No, and I intend to keep that way, especially from my siblings.”

“Why are you entering the dungeon without a familia?”

“Because I see the whole god’s blessing dumb,” he said, crossing his arms, turning his head away. “I’m only going to say this once mind your own business.”

He goes downstairs, Ryuu follows him, she wasn’t done talking to him until suddenly she felt her hand being grabbed. She turned her head to see Ryu. Her face was a light shade of red. “Let him go. He just needs time alone.”

“How much did you hear?”

“Everything.”

Ryu was quite disappointed, but not surprised that Takeshi would sneak into the dungeon. “I appreciate your help, but I’ll take it from here.”

“That’s fine but um… do you mind letting go of my hand?” she stuttered and avoided looking him in the eyes.

Ryu was wondering why her face was all red. He’s never seen her like this before. He then looks at his hand, then at her. “Oh, sorry about that,” he lets go and Ryuu returns to work, not before telling him to keep an eye on his brother.

The next day Ryu wakes up to find Takeshi but he couldn’t find him anywhere. He asked the waitresses if they saw him. They all said no. He then sits down and eats breakfast.

“I believed your brother left early this morning,” said Ryuu.

He looked at the elf to see the same expressionless face that she always has. “I figured he would. Probably to avoid you. I’ll talk to him after he gets back.”

“Hey Ryu, are you ready?” said Bell.

“In a minute Bell.”

“Okay, I’ll wait outside.”

“I know this isn’t my business, but I’ve just been wondering?”

“About what?”

“Why haven't you joined a familia?”

“Now that you mentioned, I’m pretty sure every god and goddess would want you to join, so why?”

“For starters, I wanted to know all the familias so that my group can decide on which one to join and also,” He turned his head to Bell, who was outside waiting. The girls looked. Syr smiled while just giving a simple nod.

“I understand.”

“Hey girls, we're about to head out. Are you coming?” said Mitsuko.

“We’re coming,” Sry shouted.

The three walked outside. “Take care, you two,” Syr smiled at the boys.

“See you girls later,” Ryu said as he and Bell went on there to find a familia. Many hours later, Bell went inside. Few minutes later a god threw him out, telling him to get strong. He then looked at Ryu, gave him an annoyed glare, knowing what he was going to say, and then slammed the door in front of them. Bell was upset, but not surprised at the same time. “Bell, are you okay?” Ryu offered his hand, but Bell stayed on the ground.

“Can I ask you something?”

“What is it?”

“All the gods we asked to join, they never wanted me but they were fine with you, so why didn’t you join any of them?”

“I wanted to know the gods and goddesses that I could join and also.”

“Also what?”

He told Bell that he saw him crying one night at the pub. At first he wondered why, then he remembered what gods and goddesses said to Bell. They called him weak, and some even made fun of him.

“It pisses me off to see them make fun of you. I wanted to say something back, but I knew that would bring unnecessary conflict, so I kept my mouth shut. I knew if we joined one they probably wouldn’t accept you, so I decided we wouldn’t join one until we found you one,” said Ryu. When Ryu came up with the idea, Takeshi was against it at first but knew Ryu’s reason, so he agreed.

Bell cried again, only this time they were tears of joy. He’s only been in the city for about half a month and has already made wonderful friends that support him. “Bell, are you okay?” Ryu asked, but knew he was happy.

“I’m just so happy I’ve met such amazing people.”

Ryu smiled at him. “Hello there.”

They heard a voice. A woman steps into the light. She was young, beautiful, had blue eyes and mid-thigh length black hair. Her hair was tied into two twin tails that reached down to her mid-thigh. She was wearing a white minidress with a blue ribbon around her neck and another tied under her breast around the arms, has white gloves, flip-flops, and her hair accessories are blue and white petals with bell shaped ornaments.

“I hear you're looking for familia.”

She smiled at Bell and offered him a hand. He takes her hand. She placed her other hand on his hand and he did the same. He gets up and smiles at her.

“Are you a goddess?” Ryu asked.

“I am. My name is Hestia,” she introduced herself.

“It seems fate has granted your wish, Bell. You have found a familia,” said Ryu.

Bell was happy to finally join one. “What about you, Mr. Ryu?” he asked.

“Would you like to join my familia?” said Hestia.

“I appreciate the offer but I’m afraid I have to decline the offer for now. I want to discuss this with my group and don’t worry Bell, before we join a familia we let you know first,” Ryu responded.

“I understand,” said Hestia.

“I should get going. Everyone is going to be thrilled to hear the news,” said Ryu.

He began to walk until… “Ryu!” Bell shouted his name.

He turned his head to Bell and Hestia. “I hope I see you guys again,” said Bell.

“You well Bell. You will,” he muttered his last sentence and walked away.

“Tell me Bell, do you know that boy,” said Hestia.

“We first met when I entered the city and later became friends,” said Bell.

“I see.”

Hestia thought to herself, “I don’t know why but that boy Ryu reminds me of someone I once knew a long time ago.”

Notes:

Let me know what you guys think of this story and also what families. Do you think the Guardians will join the same familiar as Bell or a different one?
