And then Linkai so happens to make an unjustified comparison.

Convincing?

Work Text:

The aroma coming from the kitchen was hands on the best. Linkai followed the scent – the smell had pulled him out of bed and awake – and he saw the vague figure of Yuning preparing a meal.

“What are you doing up so early?” yawned Xiao Gui, rubbing his eyes. Yuning turned to face the younger, and he smiled before walking to him and giving him a kiss on the forehead. “I want to make breakfast for you,” he said. Xiao Gui blushed slightly, and Yuning gave out a small chuckle at his reaction.
“How does a warm dish of noodles for breakfast sound?” he asked.
“Delicious,” Xiao Gui hummed in reply. Yuning ruffled the younger’s hair, leaning down and giving him a small peck on the lips. “Wait a bit more, okay?”
Linkai gave a small smile, and he nodded his head, before sitting at the outer bench of the kitchen island and watching Yuning return to the cooking.
He didn’t have to wait too long, though, before his breakfast was delivered and served. Yuning sat next to Xiao Gui, and laid out the two bowls of noodles in front of them. Xiao Gui smiled brightly, turning on his chair to give Yuning a kiss. “Thank you,” he said, picking up his chopsticks and gesturing at Yuning to do the same. The latter followed suit, and he waited for Linkai to take the first bite.

“Mhm... it’s so yummy, Ning-ge!” said Linkai, and Yuning took that as a sign that the food was edible.
Taking his first bite, the elder found the food delicious as well, though not to the extent of what Linkai found it.
“Ge,” said Xiao Gui. Yuning hummed in response, and he turned his head to face him. “I think I’m in love with the food.”
Yuning chuckled, and he stared at Xiao Gui a bit more, but before he could return to his food, Xiao Gui continued to speak. “But I think I’m in love with the person who made this more.”

Yuning turned his head again, and a soft kiss was what he was met with. “A-Lin,” whispered Yuning, “thank you.” The younger smiled in return, before the two continued to savour the moment of the sweet morning, the smell of noodles, and the feeling of each other.
The elder used his hand to pull Xiao Gui down by his neck, and the two met halfway of the journey, their lips lingering about each other, before they pressed their lips harder against each other and the kisses were no longer soft at impact.
Yuning straightened up a little, and the two moved themselves into a better position. Almost automatically, Xiao Gui parted his lips slightly, and he could feel Yuning’s tongue carefully caressing the inside of his mouth.
When they parted, Yuning pressed a finger against Linkai’s lips, slowly letting go of his grip behind the latter’s neck.

“I also think that the chef of these noodles taste better,” whispered Xiao Gui, and Yuning raised his eyebrows before giving him a small hit on the arm.
“你真的是小鬼,” Yuning scolded, before lifting a spoonful up of the noodles and feeding it to the said man himself. “Ah,” he teased, and the younger opened his mouth to eat the food.
“So?”
“I still think so.”
And the feeding began again.

Maybe his opinion changed?

...?

Maybe?
