Chapter Text
Prologue
The animosity between the Shadowhunters and the Downworld lasted for centuries and did not end. The leaders of the individual groups have never been able to agree on a common solution. And when they agreed, there was always someone who disagreed with the Accords.
During the reign of king Robert Lightwood I, Valentine Morgenstern appeared, who wanted all beings of demon blood gone. Werewolves, vampires, fairies and warlocks escort you out of the world once and for all. Because of this, there were long and bloody battles that continue to this day. Both the Shadowhunters and the Downworld hope for a better future for both races. The only question is, when will the change that both races have been waiting for centuries come?
Chapter 1
The royal family awaited the arrival of the ruler of the Edom and his son. It was a big event, and crowds crowded the Angel Square just to see the rulers of a neighboring country. The royal city of Alicante was ceremoniously decorated. Red flags fluttered in the streets. People pushed each other to have the best possible view. There and there was a Downworlder who came to Alicante for a ceremonial fair.
The Lightwood siblings stood on the walls of the palace, looking for rare guests. Max, Robert's youngest son, demanded the attention of his older siblings.
"I don't see anything," he pursed his lips indignantly.
"There's nothing left, Max," Jace replied, a boy adopted by the royal family. After his parents fell, during one of the battles against Valentine, he smiled.
From the main gate came the thump of horses' hooves and the first members of the royal procession from Edom drove into square.
"Come on, little one," Alec, Crown Prince of Idris, took Max in his arms.
"Don't call me, little one!" Max inflated, and the three older siblings laughed.
"Wow!" Exhaled Isabelle, the only daughter of King Robert and Queen Mary, when she saw Magnus Bane, heir to the throne of Edom, entering the square.
Magnus motioned for the servants to help him off the horse. He raised his head as he stood firmly on the ground. His eyes met the eyes of four siblings. He nodded and the crowd began to bow when they saw the royal siblings.
"Please don't bow," Alec interrupted.
"Underhill," he called to the royal commander of the guards. "Take our guests to the throne room. The king and queen are waiting for them. "
"Sure, sir," Underhill bowed.
Robert and Maryse and their four children met with the guests in the throne room. There was a great welcome. Magnus's gaze met Alec's. Magnus gasped. He couldn't judge from the courtyard, but now up close. Prince of Idris was beautiful. The hazel eyes looked at him kindly, and a small smile appeared on the young prince's face.
"What if one of you did Magnus a tour? In the meantime, Asmodeus and I will discuss our matter, "Robert suggested.
"I'll do it," Alec offered promptly. Izzy and Jace glared at him and exchanged amused glances.
"Shut up!" Alec growled. "This way, please," he showed Magnus the way out of the throne room. He could still hear the amused laughter of his siblings behind him.
"Do they like to provoke?" He askedamused Magnus. "You don't even know how, Your Highness," Alec replied. "Without that title, Your Highness," corrected him Magnus. "Call me Magnus."
"I'm Alec. "
Magnus studied the Lightwood family-tree pictured on the wall.
"My great-great-grandfather Benedict Lightwood I," Alec replied when he saw where Magnus's eyes were fixed. "He contracted demonic smallpox, unfortunately neither his subjects nor his family caught it in time. He killed his son-in-law in the final stages. "
"Demon smallpox is not a nice thing, especially for nephilim, "Magnus turned to him.
"Jace keeps saying that smallpox is a disaster. As if the Herondales had any experience with that. Unlike us, "Alec laughed. "He´s Herondale? Like from Inquisitor Herondale? ”
"Yes, "Alec nodded. "His parents died and she had no idea he had a grandson. They both found out recently. During one of Valentine's raids. "
"How did Valentine know that? ”Magnus asked. "He raised him for a while before he brought him to us."
"An interesting family history, "Magnus acknowledged.
"Tell me," Alec nodded. "Can we go on? I'll show you the garden. "
"I'll just be happy, "Magnus smiled in return.
The vampire, the werewolf, and the fairy stared at their captor in disgust. Valentine turned to his henchmen.
"Good job. I have been told that a warlock is right in Alicante. Get Bane here. Let us start our little game. "
"Of course, sir, "Pangborn replied. Valentine turned to his prisoners. “Kaelie Whitewillow, Camille Belcourt and Jordan Kyle. Make yourself comfortable, you will stay here for a while. "
"Go to hell! ”Kaelie recommended.
"We won't give up," Camille added.
"We will fight you to the last breath," Jordan finished. "It can happen to you, you stray dog!" Valentine grinned and left.
"Does he really think he can get Magnus?" Kaelie asked. "He is Crown Prince Edom, he will have guards around him. They won't let him out of your sight for a moment. "
Valentine stood at the window of his fortress, a triumphant smile playing on his face. He will soon conquer Edom and Idris and escort the demonic mob from the world.
"Soon there will be no demon blood, and I will deal with anyone who opposes me. Soon. We will live here happily very soon. "
"It's not luck to kill innocent people! ” The redhead in the corner of the room protested.
"Clary!" Jocelyn hissed standing beside her.
“People ?! People? ”Valentine asked, looking at his daughter as if she had gone mad. "Do you call those demons humans?"
"They have the same right to life as anyone else! ”
"It will soon be different here, my daughter! ” He hugged her shoulders.
