Pulling away from our embrace I can’t help but to smile, kissing Flora felt so...natural and perfect. I glance up at her mother half expecting to see anger behind her eyes or disappointment. Instead, I see her mother, the Queen smiling at Flora and I. “Maybe she likes me after all.” I whisper to Flora. She smiles after looking back at her mother smiling over us “maybe she does” she says with a grin. “I guess I should go so the parade can continue huh?” I say looking around and noticing all eyes are on us. Flora nods “I’ll see you back at school” she kisses me quickly before I run back into the crowd.

On the ride back to Gregorstoun I sit with Saks and Perry, all of us fully expecting to be in trouble. “We are so dead, I’m going to get kicked out before I can even finish the year out” I start stressing about how many times I’ve gotten in trouble and how many times they could have kicked me out already. “This is gonna be the final straw for them.” Saks and Perry look at me clearly with pity in their eyes. “I highly doubt they will kick you out at this point. Your tuition is paid for and I don’t think Flora would let that happen” Perry chimes, trying to cheer me up. I give him a half-smile knowing that Flora wouldn’t let it happen but also reminding myself that some things are out of her control. I sit silently thinking about how much I just risked to tell Flora how much I love her. My mind begins to wander, “what will I tell Dad and Lee '' I mean I’m sure they’ll be happy and all but what about after I finish school at Gregorstoun. Do I just leave Flora?

As soon as we arrive back, Saks and I immediately go up to our room.”You think we’ll get called up to see McKee?” Saks asks as we sit on my bed. “Probably, Mr.McGregor is probably furious” she nods, “I skipped school to go tell the freaking princess of Scotland that I am in love with her and then kissed her in front of hundreds of people like it was nothing.” She starts to laugh at me as if I were joking, “crazy, isn’t it? Especially for someone who said she wasn’t interested in any romance while you were here.” she nudges me with a grin. “It’s not like I did it on purpose; she's just so perfect.” I smile just thinking about Flora, she really is perfect, flawed but still perfect to me, and I love her just like that. Saks smiles “to think only a few months ago you would have thought the idea of you and her together crazy.”
“Because it was crazy, we hated each other!”
“I know” Saks sits over at her desk, I open my laptop and see multiple messages from Lee, many asking me what is going on and why pictures of Flora and I’s kiss are all over the Scottish news. I respond “long story I’ll call you later, but I told her I was in love with her and kind of skipped class and broke the rules to do so” He quickly responds with floods of questions. I lay back and look at my phone and make the selfie Flora and I took my lock screen. I can’t wait for her to come back to school. I wait for a text from Dad, part of me hopes he hasn’t seen what happened at the parade. Before a text from him could be read I slowly drift off to sleep.
