Wilbur couldn't sleep. He just couldn't. Every time he closed his eyes, strange images started to appear.
It was chaos, people were dying, his family started slipping away before him.
He hid his face in the pillows in an attempt to drown the thoughts out, but they just got louder and louder.
He wanted to get out of bed. He wanted to go to his siblings or Phil and just curl up next to them, but he couldn't afford to seem vulnerable before them. So he forced himself to sleep, hoping the thoughts would get washed out.
Unfortunately, that did not help. In fact, it only made things worse for him.
It was a neverending tunnel with barely any light. He wished he could see the end of it,
But there was nothing.
He screamed, he shouted and banged on the walls, hoping anyone would hear him.
“Wil?”
He kept shouting.
“Wilbur!”
Who is it?
“WILBUR WAKE UP!”
He woke up, body shaking and the lightning outside crackling which startled him even more.
“You were shouting in your sleep,” Tommy said. He was kneeling next to his brother. Despite him obviously being sleepy himself, he seemed wide awake and alert.
Techno and Philza were not at home, so it was just them.
“I had a bad dream,” Wilbur muttered.
Tommy’s brows knitted together. He looped an arm around his brother’s shoulder, giving him soothing rubs.
The images haunted him. He kept thinking about what was his dream supposed to mean, why is he dreaming about all this?
Empty tunnel, no one, losing people
He felt restless. No matter how tired he was, he feared seeing those illusions again when he sleeps.
“It’s gonna be okay,” Tommy assured him, though rather hesitant. He wasn’t ever the best at consoling others, but he tries.
“Do you… Do you wanna sleep with me tonight?”
Wilbur looked at the younger, a bit surprised by the offer. But truth be told, he felt safer now that his brother is with him.
“Sure, I guess.”
Wil’s bed isn’t at all that big, let alone to fit two people, but they managed to cram together, wrapped by his thin blanket. It probably wasn’t the most comfortable position, but it’s safe to say they slept soundly that night.
