Work Text:

Hogan watches Klink jump up from his chair as soon as he enters the office. He doesn't even have time for a greeting before Klink starts.

"I can't believe you've risked that! If Burkhalter had come ten minutes earlier, we would have been busted. We! Not just you." Klink snarls, barely able to contain his anger.

Hogan straightens up in front of Klink's desk and crosses his arms.

"I know. These are the perks of the spy business, Klink. Better get used to it." Hogan says defensively, drifting into an arrogance that will rile up Klink even more.

"Better get used to it? There's nothing I could have done to get you out of it. They'd have shot us. Probably on spot." Klink almost shouts, his voice unsteady and raw.

Hogan wanders around the desk and pauses in front of Klink. He meets his eyes again, this time he holds the contact.

"Don't you think I'm aware of this?" he begins, voice low, almost a whisper. "Every risk I take could mean death."

He takes a step towards Klink who stumbles backwards. "Every mistake of mine could kill a friend."

He closes the space between them so Klink's back is pressed against the wall.

He can feel the tension in Klink's body. He knows the anger stems from something entirely else. Something maybe even more dangerous than spy activities.

Klink's breathing accelerates. Hogan eyes him slowly up and down, pauses at his lips for maximum effect.

"Why are you working yourself up so much about this?" he asks then.

"I could not..." Klink stammers, "I could have lost..."

You.

The unspoken word hangs between them.

Hogan's eyes widen. That is the cue he was waiting for.

At one go, he moves forward and pins Klink against the wall. He uses the moment of surprise and presses his lips against Klink's.

With his other hand he scans the wall for the picture and puts his hand over the microphone. In the meantime Klink caught on and kisses him back.

Hogan uses his position to deepen the kiss and to press his body against Klink's. Klink melts against him and Hogan kisses a sob from his lips. For a few moments nothing else exists, just the rapid beating of Klink's heartbeat against his chest, the softness of his lips and the hotness of his mouth.

He almost slips his hand off the microphone. The cold reality comes back in a rush.

He slows down the kiss and uses his free hand to cup Klink's jaw. He presses a kiss against his cheek and takes a step back.

Klink looks rough, pink lips, out of breath, swaying towards him not ready to give up the closeness.

Hogan presses his index finger against Klink's lips.

"I guess I have to give you another lesson in spying 101. Do you care for a chess game in the meantime, Herr Kommandant?" Hogan says and winks before he takes his hand back.

Klink swallows.

"Not now Hogan, can't you see all the paperwork I have to do? But tonight, I can arrange that."

Hogan smiles in return.
