Choi Yeonjun. A 21 year old Canine attending Bighit university.
Canine? Why yes, In fact, Choi Yeonjun
is a fox hybrid.
He's also slightly slow.
Kicking the vending machine he lets out a huff of frustration. Silently staring at the carton of strawberry milk and pawing at the glass.
"this is my fight song.." he whispers quietly still staring at the poor carton
"Um? You need to put in money. See?" A boy speaks up behind him, sliding in 2 quarters and pressing the buttons for the strawberry milk.
Yeonjun doesn't look at them, too focused on the strawberry milk he desperately craved at the moment.
When it falls out the machine he grabs it happily looking up to the boy who helped him
"Thank you so much! I was having a hard day since I'm new here and-"

"Actually scratch that. Are you single?" The hybrid asks staring up at the human with doe eyes
"W-what?" The boy flushes stepping back slightly at his bluntness
"Are you looking for a mate?" Yeonjun pushes forgetting about his milk in order to become this humans mate.
"I-I um I-" the boy stutters blushing harder before looking to the side
"Uh- Taehyun! Sorry I have to go that's my friend." The boys states quickly rushing away.
Yeonjun follows him his fox eyes down turned slightly at the rejection.
Maybe the boy was a dog person?
Wait..

"Why are we here again?" Yeonjun frowns sipping his strawberry milk as Beomgyu looks around
"To watch Taehyun sing."
"Shouldn't you be on stage dancing?" The fox asks
"Shouldn't you as well, Hyung?" Beomgyu speaks back laughing into his palm at Yeonjun's grimace
"You know, Jimin's gonna kill us." Yeonjun states sitting down
"CHOI YEONJUN" a loud squeaky voice echos through the arena causing both hybrids to wince
"Uhhh? Did you hear something?"
"Nope. Hey I think the concession stands just opened let's go check it out!" Beomgyu smiles pulling the fox with him
“Get that fox!” They hear as they rush through the doors Yeonjun makes a sharp turn (Beomgyu abandoned him) knocking his head straight into a strangers chest
“Yah! I’m running here! Have you ever heard of look both ways before you cross the hallway-” He angrily shouts looking up at the stranger
“Oh. I mean, I’m extremely sorry for getting in your way. This is so sad honestly.” Yeonjun starts once he recognizes the boy
The stranger/boy still seemed shocked, slightly holding onto his cup of coffee
Yeonjun stares at the cup before knocking it onto the ground
“Oh goodness!! Honestly I’ve been so clumsy today!! I’ll treat you to another cup of coffee!” The fox smiles grabbing the strangers arm
“M-my-“ the boy starts
“Yeah. Your coffee spilled. Now give me your number and name and we can sort out a date.” Yeonjun smiles again patting the boys back
“Uh, it’s Soobin but you don’t have to-“
“Nonsense! I simply must!!!” Yeonjun purrs rubbing his head onto the boys arm
Passing his phone to Soobin he stares up at him eagerly waiting for him to put in his number
Soobin reluctantly takes it
Once he finishes he passes it back to the still purring fox
“I’m..”
“You know you smell like mint chocolate?”
“What? Mint chocolate is digusting ” Soobin fake gags
“It’s okay. I like people with opposite opinions.” Yeonjun smiles even wider sticking his tongue out to lick the boys cheek
Soobin flinches away before his tongue touches him
“What are you doing?”
“Isn’t it obvious?? I’m trying to get you to fall in love with me so we can skip all this chit chat and start mating.” The fox deadpans trying to link his arms with a defiant Soobin
“We’re not gonna mate! S-stop it!” Soobin blushes as he tries pushing the boy away
Yeonjun pauses, the rejection setting into his heart
“Y-you really don’t want to mate?” He asks his eyes getting glassy
“N-no! That’s not what I meant I-” Soobin starts
“Yah! Choi Yeonjun! Get over here and join the dance club!” A voice shouts
“No! Leave me alone before I sue you for harassment!” The fox shouts quickly letting go of Soobins arm and sprinting away
“Jimin-ssi?” Soobin questions his eyes widening
“You know him?! Thank goodness! Tell him that if he doesn’t show up to the next dance meet I’ll cut off every supply of strawberry milk this school has!” The blonde boy growls. his cat ears standing straight up as he crushes a rolled up newspaper.
“Is he that good at dancing?”
“Have you seen him? He’s amazing.” Jimin states dropping his demeanor to smile and pat his taller dongsaengs head

“wow so he rejected you?” Beomgyu asks, resting his chin on his hand
“Yeah. Hurt my heart to be honest.” Yeonjun sighs
“Well maybe it’s because he’s a human. Try courting him or something.” Beomgyu suggests shrugging
“Do not try courting him. that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life.” Jennie, a tiger hybrid buts in sitting down.
“Actually I think it’s a good idea!” Another girl speaks sitting down next to her
“Ah? Jennie noona and Kimi? What are you guys doing here?” Beomgyu asks staring wide eyed at the two hybrids
“I, your resident fox hybrid, have come to flirt with one of the students here.”
“Oh please.” Jennie laughs
“Guys can we stop talking about Kimi’s love life and talk about mine instead?” Yeonjun shouts bringing attention back to himself
“How about this? You stick by his side for a week and if he still rejects you, you’ll leave him alone.” Jennie recommends
“We can egg his dorm if he does.”
Yeonjun nods staring off into space as Beomgyu converses with the 2 girls.
“Wait? Kimi you don’t go here!” He realizes staring at the younger girl
“Nah duh idiot but, a little birdie told me, Park Sunghoon is a freshman here.” She giggles slapping beomgyus hand away from her ears
“Park Sunghoon? The human? What’s with us hybrids and humans?” Yeonjun questions his mouth opening slightly
“Humans are hot.” Beomgyu states staring at Taehyun, who’s sitting at the table in front of them by himself
“I think your humans lonely.” Jennie laughs nudging Beomgyu’s side
“You’re right. I’m gonna go flirt I mean give him company.” The bear hybrid states determined. He stands up and walks towards the humans table
“I should get going too.” Jennie smiles
“Have fun getting a man!” She states pushing herself up and walking away. Kimi sits with Yeonjun in silence for a while before speaking
“You’ve never tried to mate someone this fast before.”
“Huh? Oh uh, you know us foxes haha um always running and such, like 100 miles per hour or something.” He laughs nervously
“We’re not cheetahs dumbass.” She glares at him slapping his arm
He nervously looks away as she stares at him. Eventually, she shrugs, standing up and walking away silently.

“Oh? Yeonjun-ssi? What are you doing here?” Soobin asks looking up from his paper work
The fox hybrid was hopping on his toes while standing in front of the council office
“Uh I wanted to ask you something.” He whispers
“Hm? What did you say? I can’t hear you.”
“I um I, I just wanted to..” Yeonjun hisses under his breath before slamming a strawberry milk onto the boys desk and rushing off.
Soobin stares at his retreating back before scoffing, picking up the milk he stares at it as his lips raise
“I don’t like strawberry milk.” He states slightly laughing as he opens the bottle. (In this fic he doesn’t)

Yeonjun had started seeing more of Soobin since the milk event, be it Yeonjun’s either running away from the dance club leader or rushing to his class late, Soobin is always there.
Okay no, he’s always there. Literally. Always.
Running through the hallways he turns the corner before his arm is grabbed and he’s pulled into a classroom.
“Oof!” Yeonjun yelps, his head hitting a chest
“Oh come on! I’ve had enough of this pushing and pulling! I’m a fox! A fox! Why does everyone suddenly think I’m a rag doll they can just throw around-” he starts ranting, rolling his eyes before a hand covers his mouth
Looking up he makes direct eye contact with the boy harboring his heart
It’s then that he becomes incredibly aware of the hand wrapped around his waist.
Soobin shushes him staring outside the window as Jimin rushes past shouting for the fox
Letting go he smiles down at Yeonjun.
“Yeonjun-ssi. You seem to be running from Jimin a lot nowadays.” The boy laughs
“Uh.. yeah. I guess I am. Dance season just started so..” the fox murmurs only thinking about the hand on his waist
“In winter?” Soobin asks raising an eyebrow
“Oh my god he’s so hot.” Yeonjun thinks gaping up at the boy
“Huh? Oh um yeah you know, spring n all..” he states
Soobin giggles slightly at his statement
“I read somewhere that foxes don’t actually enjoy being pet?” Soobin questions, his grip still strong on the others waist
“Pet? Oh yeah sure. you can pet me.” Yeonjun nods, only hearing pet, so far in a daze
“Soobin’s hand feels nice, what conditioner does he use?” Yeonjun wonders still staring into the others eyes
Soobin stares at him silently for a while before raising his hand and slightly touching Yeonjun’s ears. The fox smiles at the gentle touch nudging the boys hand with his ear
Soobin stares into his eyes once more before placing his hand in between his ears and lightly scratching
Yeonjun purrs pushing himself more into the human trying to get more friction
Soobin starts slightly petting him, his fingers sometimes glazing the foxes ears as Yeonjun lets out soft purrs, his chest vibrating as he rests against the human
Soobin stares at the boys closed eyes before looking at the orange tail that seemed to be slightly waving, trying to wrap itself under the palm around the foxes waist.
He slightly lets go, knocking his middle finger against the tail before grabbing it, causing Yeonjun to startle out of his haze releasing a yelp.
Soobin quickly lets go staring wide eyed at the fox
“Sorry.” He grins sheepishly at Yeonjuns red face
Yeonjun opens his mouth to speak but his face starts burning too much so he just pushes himself out of the tallers hold and rushes out of the room. Leaving behind a confused Soobin.

“and then he just ran out.” Soobin explains staring at the other fox hybrid
“Why are you telling me your life story?” Kimi asks sparing five seconds to looking at Soobin blankly
“Because I wanna know why he ran away after I touched his tail! You’re a fox! tell me!” He whines rolling around on the girls bed
“First off. I’ve never had an idiot walk up to me and grab my tail. Secondly why the hell would you try to get with a hybrid and not do research on their species?” She lists off continuing to do her homework
“I did do research! That’s how I found out they didn’t like being pet! Which has to obviously be a lie because he was enjoying it!” Soobin shouts throwing a pillow at the girl
“Ow! Stop throwing my stuff!” She yelps standing up to suffocate him with a paper
“No no stop! Just give me your thoughts!” He fake cries putting his hands together and cupping the girls smaller ones.
“Maybe his tail is sensitive.” She concludes
“Huh?” He gaps
“Oh my god have you never had a pet before?!”
“Hey! Don’t disrespect Odi like that!” He whines again pointing to the hedgehog resting in a cage on the floor
“Some, I mean many animals have sensitive tails! Foxes probably do to.” She shrugs going back to her homework
“Do you not know information about your own kind?” Soobin laughs
“For your information!! I just don’t care!” She hisses at him
“Geez you should’ve been a snake instead of a fox.” He sighs rolling around on her bed
“By the way, is your tail sensitive? Will you let me pull it?” He asks smiles up at her
“No. Fuck off.” She growls throwing an empty soda can at his face

Soobin spends the next day of the weekend at Taehyun’s house, annoying him instead because Kimi threatened to bite him if he asked another question.
“Tyunnnn! I can’t find anything on foxes having sensitive tails!!” He drags out laying on the boys floor
“Everyone’s different.” Taehyun shrugs
Soobin nods, once school got back in, he’d approach Yeonjun and ask
“What if it’s a sensitive subject?” He frowns, overthinking
“You’ll never know unless you ask.”

Yeonjun was spending his free hour talking to Kimi at the lunch table, well more like arguing
“Why didn’t you tell me you were best friends with Choi Soobin!!” He whines throwing her arm around
“I don’t even go to this school. Why am I here.” She sighs staring at a white wall
“Yahhhh I need answers.” Yeonjun begs throwing her around
“I’ve literally told you me and him were besties like 5 times. I even invited you to hang out with us once last year and you told me that since I was so bad built my friend was too.” She remembers
“I would never. Now, does he like strawberry milk?”
“No. It’s too sweet for him.” She states, glad to pass on the information so she can forget.
“This is why you’re my favorite best friend.” Yeonjun smiles reaching foward to pet her
She snaps at his hand, threatening to bite it. He ignores her hostile actions, viciously rubbing her scalp.
“Omg hyung! Yesterday Sunghoon tried to pet her it was so hilarious you should’ve been there!” Huening Kai pants rushing up to the table
“He was being all gentle men like and asked if he could touch her ears and she said yes only to try and bite his hand off once he touched them!” Kai explains dying of laughter
Kimis stares blankly at the boy before launching over the table to grab his hair
Kai’s high pitched scream echos through the cafeteria as Yeonjun tries to pull Kimi away from him.
“Yeonjun-ssi!” Soobin shouts happily running up to the table. He completely ignores the other two grabbing the foxes hand and pulling him away from them.
He pushes the fox into an empty room, wrapping his arms around him in a hug
“Call me hyung.” Yeonjun smiles staring up expectantly, nudging Soobins hand that was placed beside his ear.
Soobin nods starting to run his fingers through his hyung’s hair, petting him.
The room gets engulfed in slight purrs from the fox who rubs his head into Soobins chest.
“Hyung? Is your tail sensitive?” He asks quietly
“When I was younger, a lot of kids would pick on me and pull it. Hurts.” The fox mumbles still purring and nuzzling his head into Soobins chest
“I’m sorry hyung. I didn’t know it hurt you.” Soobin frowns
“feels good when you do it. You’re gentle.” Yeonjun whispers Soobin almost missing it
His face starts burning as he processes his hyung’s words
“Y-you liked it?”
Yeonjun only hums still lost in the feeling of being pet. Soobin stares at the tail again, raising his hand he softly glides it across the fluffy tail, not missing the way Yeonjun pushes himself up against him harder.
His eyes widen in amazement at how soft his hyung looks, noticing that Yeonjun had moved his head from his chest into his neck
He ignores it, continuing to pet his hyung ears and tail before he feels something wet lick a stripe across his neck
Freaking out he pushes Yeonjun slightly away who only whines trying to get back into his arms
“H-hyung? Did you just lick me?!” He asks blushing
Yeonjun stares up at him with hazed eyes, frowning; not understanding Soobins panic
“yeah.” He states blandly
Soobin looks away nervously about to speak before his phone starts ringing in his pocket.
“Ah Hyung, I’ve got to go. Class starts in 5.” He sighs patting Yeonjuns head. he rushes out leaving behind the still slightly out of it hybrid.
He stares at Soobins back, blinking away the drowsiness
Pulling his phone out he texts the only people he knows will give him actual advice

A week passes, finals were taking place so Yeonjun didn’t have time to approach Soobin and confess, stuck watching the love of his life study hard.
Finally, he finishes his last final, embracing his winter break with open arms.
“Why’s it so damn cold.” Beomgyu shivers
“Aren’t you a bear? Shouldn’t you like be used to this?” Huening Kai asks (finally showing up to his classes).
“Shut up. That’s not how bears work idiot! I still get cold I just-”
“Hibernation yada yada yada. We get it.” Jennie states boredly picking her nail.
“Oh? Hyung!” Kai shouts waving Soobin and Taehyun to their table
The two smile taking seats beside Yeonjun and Beomgyu.
“Breaks finally started! What are your plans?” Soobin starts up a conversation smiling at the group
“I’m going to be busy sleeping.” Beomgyu speaks up first eating his cheesecake
“Sleeping? The whole time?” Taehyun asks, sounding slightly distraught
“Not all the time. I’ll still have time for you if you ask me out on a date.” Beomgyu winks trying to read Taehyun’s blank face. The blonde just nods turning back around to listen to Kimi list all her plans.
“Then, me and Jennie are gonna go to the store and buy all the adult diapers with his credit card because the misogyny really stepped out.” She rambles not stopping until Jennie kicks her shin.
“Ow! Did you know that you can get arrested for-”
“What she’s saying is, she’s going to be incredibly busy having fun since she’s an arctic fox. I will be nowhere near her and her sudden outburst of energy.” Jennie replies
“The shade room needs to cover this one.” Yeonjun sighs resting his chin on his hand and closing his eyes
“what about you hyung?” Soobin asks staring at him
“Me? Oh I don’t have any plans. My family is in America and I don’t feel comfortable flying out so I’ll be by myself.” He sighs, it wasn’t as depressing as it seemed. He was used to spending holidays without his family, the college was like a second home to him now.
“Well maybe you should come over. I’ll have snacks and food.” Soobin suggests shyly, smiling
Yeonjun frantically nods his head, his eyes shining as he locks arms with the human.
“Will you let me lick you now?” He questions
“Uh sure?”
Yeonjun smiles leaning in to lick the boys cheek slightly, resting his head on his shoulder.
“Why can’t that be me and Sunghoon?” Kimi sighs slamming her head into the table
“Why can’t you just get Minecraft now?!” Beomgyu argues with Kai across the table
“I have it I swear! I bought it! But my computer doesn’t have storage!”
“YOU HAVE A PC NOT A LAPTOP!” Beomgyu shouts
“It’s the same thing you idiot!” Kai argues back
“Minecraft sucks.” Jennie interrupts
“This is why you don’t have any friends.” Beomgyu states

Yeonjun was vibrating as he stood outside Soobins apartment. His eyes shining as he knocks on the boys door.
Soobin was well off, his apartment complex was gated and hybrid friendly.
Yeonjun felt safe.
He felt even safer when Soobin opened the door pulling him in and showing him around, the humans voice laced with drowsiness.
They’d agreed to meet up at 6pm to watch Christmas movies and drink hot chocolate.
Soobin explained that he took a slight nap before yeonjun arrived as he made the hot coco.
They drank in piece as The polar express played on the big screen.
The apartment was spacey and had lots of little touches, like flowers hanging from some walls, pictures of Soobin with his family and friends.
It felt like home.
Yeonjun felt like he was at home.
They start up the second movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Yeonjun decides to make a move; rubbing his head into Soobins shoulder.
“We can lay down.” Soobin whispers leaning back on the couch, opening his legs so that Yeonjun could slot himself between them.
The hybrid smiles laying his head in Soobins neck as he lets the human pet him. Relaxing fully, he doesn’t realize he’s licking him until Soobin lets out a slight huff.
Lazily looking up, he tries to look at the humans eyes but instead focuses on his lips as his tongue darts out to lick them.
“Please? Will you be my mate?” Yeonjun whimpers pushing himself up until he’s straddling the human. his knees on the sides of his thighs.
Soobin blushes staring at Yeonjun in shock
“H-hyung? What?”
“Be my mate. Date me, love me, pet me, kiss me, whatever just please.” The fox begs slightly producing a slight guttural sound in his throat.
Soobin tries to speak over the hybrids whines but Yeonjun slots his head under his chin, nudging his throat.
“Hyung-” Soobin starts pulling the hybrid away
Yeonjun thinks of the worse, his ears drooping at the rejection as he gets ready to release a pained cry.
Soobin sees the tears fill his eyes and quickly talks
“Hyung! I’ll be your mate! I’ll be your boyfriend! I don’t care! I’m not rejecting you.” He states frantic
Yeonjun stops whining. Staring up at Soobin with big eyes. he smiles happily before crashing his lips onto the humans.
It was going soft at first but as Soobins words sunk in Yeonjun got happier and happier nipping and sucking the others bottom lip, only hearing the boys grunts.
He pops his lips off the others mouth before staring at his cheek. He looks back into Soobins eyes energetically as the human nods
He smiles so brightly Soobin has to shut his eyes so he won’t go blind, feeling a tongue touch his cheek and start licking his face.
“Hyung, we need to finish the movie.” Soobin remembers stopping the boys tongue from attacking him.
“Later.” Yeonjun states slotting his lips back onto Soobins.
