Ishigami Senku did not expect he will fall in love with someone.
The scientist's bucket list through out his life is to do his science and doesn't have plan to marry anyone, he is fine being alone even in the end of his time.
He was not totally interested at romance but he supported his friend Taiju and Yuzuriha to be together.
And then someone unexpectedly came to his life, Asagiri Gen.
A man who sees himself as superficial person.
At first Senku was very conscious of this man, he introduced himself as the most shallow man on earth, and saying if he sided with Tsukasa he can achieved his dream harem, basically an introduction which make people leave a bad impression to you.
But it was on purpose, he was making himself look bad and introducing himself as a valuable card that Senku needed him to be an ally but turns out he was more than that.
He has the ability of negotiations and perfected the art of manipulating people but in a good way. Even though Senku took a long time to get the villagers from Ishigami village to trust him, Gen was quickly able to get along with them. He sometimes show off his magic tricks to entertain the kids from the village and telling stories from the modern world. Adults or kids, female and male in short everyone enjoyed the mentalist company.
Just for a bottle of cola, he was able to buy Gen's loyalty.
Gen was not the type of person who hold a grudge on someone, when Senku observed the man, Gen was able to talk with Magma without being nervous or scared even though Magma has once killed Gen, he was still able to get along with the man.
To his surprise he didn't expect that Gen and the others builded an observatory for him on his birthday and when the mentalist told him he already on Senku's side before they even met and that was the first time that the scientists felt his heart flutters and now he knew he can completely trust Gen.
But falling in love in the stone world? Have I gone crazy?
When Gen proposed a plan where he imitates Lillian voice, a good plan that can avoid anyone from getting killed.
Going to hell together sounds not so bad at all
At first Senku didn't cared much about his feelings more like he didn't notice he was falling in love so hard to the mentalist. But the more the time passed, the more he grew fond of him. Gen is always on Senku's side, always watching the scientists whenever he's making something, always helping him even if the task was too hard like making 800 manganese battery.
When the kingdom of science won the war between the Empire of might, Gen was one of people who helped so much, even when Tsukasa was put into cold sleep, Gen stayed at Senku side who was a little insecure if they wasn't able to revived tsukasa in the end, the mentalist planned to take half of the blame if the worst case scenario happened. Gen put his hand on Senku's back as a comfort for him.
Before Senku noticed, he already saw Gen as his right hand man, a really reliable ally of him, and someone he cannot afford to lose.
"What is this Senku-chan?" Asked by Gen who's inspecting a little rectangle box wrapped into paper.
"Open it." replied by Senku who was feeling nervous, he was only giving Gen a gift but why he felt so nervous.
Little by little Gen carefully unwrapped the box, when he finally remove the cover, a smile formed to his face.
A deck of cards, as a magicians it's one of Gen needed the most.
"Sometimes I've noticed your hands looks like shuffling something it's ten billion percent annoying and I have free time but the manga artist did the most work though." Said by Senku, making it look like he made it because he has nothing to do.
It was a lie of course, he did asked for the manga artist help but Senku was busy, really busy at making blueprints and the ship, but compared to what Gen did for him it was nothing. He was grateful Gen followed him instead of Tsukasa or Hyoga. The cards was something at least he can give to Gen.
"Thank you Senku-chan, really." Gen was smiling. His eyes was looking at him warmly, as he began to shuffle the card, of course Gen was used at shuffling cards, it was like one of his hand gesture hobby.
Senku was satisfied seeing Gen being happy, enjoying the view of Gen's smile and not knowing his ears are fully red.
The scientists knew Gen has no planned to come with them if the ship was done, but Senku is definitely going to make his mentalist come with him in the journey, well because he needed his right hand man.
We might need someone to negotiate and nothing more, not because of feelings but because it's logical to bring him with us.
Ryusui who was the most greediest man in the whole world and Senku decided to work together to build the ship, he was busy, building a ship taking a lot of his time, and Gen who was busy at teaching the kids and the other villagers with Ukyo, Senku didn't able to see Gen a lot in the daytime but he and Gen were in the same tent so at least he was able to spend some time with him.
When the two lay down on their separated futon, Senku who already closed his eyes but he heard the mentalist voice.
"What do you planned to do after you revived the whole humanity Senku-chan?" Gen asked turning his head to Senku.
"We're still far from reviving humanity mentalist, but after we solved the mystery of petrification and revived the civilization, I'm going to the what I wanted to do ever since I was a kid, Going to the space." Senku said as he looking at Gen.
"Haha... That's sounds like you."
"How about you?" It was Senku turn to asked him a question.
"I don't know, All I want is to bring my luxurious condominium back, and to be honest I'm tired of being famous. so I rather live quietly." Gen replied.
"Wanna come with me to the space or something?" Senku proposed with a serious voice, Gen laughed a little at Senku's statement.
"I want to~ but going to space requires a space training right? I probably cannot handle that Senku-chan."
"Look Gen, if Lillian can handle that, you probably can do that as well, since Lillian is the first Diva on the space, you'll probably become the first mentalist on the space that will go down on the history." Senku grinned
"I guess, I suppose I can try..." Said by the smiling Gen who closed his eyes.
Senku closed his eyes to sleep as well.
going together to the space with Gen? That's exhilarating.
Senku looks forward on that
