Work Text:
Too many people had been hearing about Passione’s “business” recently. So obviously, it was up to someone to stop it. To quiet all the rumors people were spreading. Shut them up, if you will.
This was just the job for one Leone Abbacchio. Of course, that’s not to say that Abbacchio had any particular talents that made this job easier for him than others. It is only to say that this was the job he had been assigned. And as such, it was just the job for him.
It was an easy enough job, which was why the boss had only sent him. Unfortunately for Abbacchio, while the enemies weren’t hard to deal with, he had other problems.
Abbacchio cursed under his breath. Not now, not now! Couldn’t it wait ‘til he got to a bathroom or something? I mean, luckily his clothes were dark, so even if anything did come through, it wouldn’t be noticeable, but still, it wasn’t pleasant. And there was only one guy left too!
Oh well, put the bleeding aside, he could deal with that later. First, take care of the final guy.
Abbacchio could see him now, sitting at La Caffetteria del Cibo, sipping on his tea. He was alone. Perfect.
Abbacchio approached him calmly, sitting at his table. It would be an easy job from here.
Well, that had not gone as smoothly as Abbacchio had hoped. He hadn’t expected the guy to put up that much of a fight. I mean, sure, maybe he hadn’t exactly kept a calm demeanor, or his temper, but really, the guy wasn’t being sensible in the slightest. If he had just agreed to keep quiet, then maybe Abbacchio wouldn’t have to be so rough with him.
Really, he should calm down. He was starting to act like Fugo.
He took a deep breath. Now to deal with the bleeding. And not just the stuff he had gotten from the fight.
His suit would probably stained by now. And he was so sure it would not come today that he hadn’t brought any pads or money or anything. Toilet paper would have to do for now. Until he got back to the base at least. He thought he had at least one there.
“Bucciarati!” Abbacchio tried to whisper, pulling the man to the side, but the panic in his voice made it louder than he meant it to be.
The gang was all gathered in the main room, something that was not at all helpful for Abbacchio, who was trying to be as discreet as possible.
“What’s wrong, Abbacchio?” Bucciarati’s attention had successfully been grabbed, but unfortunately for him (and without his knowledge), Narancia’s attention had also been caught.
“You didn’t happen to get pads the last time you went out, did you?”
“Pads? What do you need those for?” Narancia butted his way into the conversation (very loudly, might I add), curious and not really understanding. His question, unfortunately, brought the attention of everyone else. He gasped suddenly. “Ooooh! Abbacchio, are you trans? That’s cool!”
Giorno seemed to be paying even more attention now, while Mista eyed Abbacchio curiously. Fugo and Trish just watched the situation unfold, Fugo because he didn’t really care all too much, and Trish because she actually did want to figure out what was going on.
Discretion was long forgotten for Abbacchio.
“No, Narancia, I’m not trans.”
“Well then why do you-“
“Sometimes people’s genitals are different, okay! Sometimes you can have both!”
Narancia stared at him confused, his face crinkling up in thought. He hadn’t heard of anything like that before, but if Abbacchio said it was real, it must have been. Abbacchio was smarter than him. Abbacchio could do math.
“Oh, okay.”
This was when Fugo decided to chime in with his ever so infinite knowledge.
“Oh, so you’re intersex? I’ve heard of it before and even done some personal studies on the topic myself, not on or with other people, of course, but I’ve never met anyone who was.”
“Well now you have.”
Fugo shifted in his seat, hand to his chin, thinking. The room had gone silent again, which gave Giorno the chance to ask what he had been wondering for a while.
“So, just to be sure, you still want us to keep referring to you as a man, right?”
Abbacchio scowled and rolled his eyes. It wasn’t that the question offended him, it was just that he didn’t like Giorno much.
“Yes. I am a man.”
“That’s cool dude. We’ll keep it a secret for ya, if ya want. And if anyone gives you any trouble...” Mista pretended to cock his gun, threatening some unseen person.
Abbacchio groaned. He really just needed pads, not a personal protection squad. And he really didn’t think they’d be very good at keeping a secret. Especially Narancia and Mista, no matter what they said. But Bucciarati gave him that look. The one that said “You had better play along with this or else”.
“Thanks,” Abbacchio managed to say in the most monotone voice possible.
“If you need pads, I’ve got a couple,” Trish said. You know, maybe he should have just asked her in the first place. But he didn’t really want to do that. He didn’t really know her that well yet. But he supposed he was grateful, in a way.
Trish handed him a pad. He wasn’t really sure where she had gotten it from or when she had come over, but he took it from her anyways.
He looked around the room. It was weird. Everyone was smiling at him. Even Giorno. Well, everyone except Fugo, but that’s just how Fugo is.
Abbacchio scowled again at the group, turning to Bucciarati. They didn’t need to overreact so much.
“Someone still needs to go get more.”
His back was turned, but he was sure Bucciarati had joined in on the weird smiling. And that was it, as Abbacchio exited the room. While this whole ordeal definitely was mnt something he expected to happen today, he had to say, it might be nice to be known, in the entirety of his self.
