Chapter Text
She was being pulled in every direction, in the most literal sense. A guard had grabbed onto her left arm, while her sister’s familiar grasp held onto her right. Suddenly another sensation was added into the mix. She was choking. Someone had grabbed onto the pendant hanging around her neck and yanked it back. Tears came to the corner of her eyes as they fade to pure white, her magic trying desperately to save her, but it had been drained from the fight.
Myrizai’s vision dimmed as she fought for breath, and time seemed to slow down and speed up simultaneously. She hates being choked, she feels so useless, so out of control. She groans and uselessly twists her arm. The battle cry she meant to let out was reduced to just a squeak.
“Kaliko, we have to go, now.” Zai heard someone say, she thought she recognized it as Aphra’s voice, but she could be wrong.
“I’m not leaving her!” Kaliko cried out, redoubling her efforts, Zai felt as if she was being ripped apart (which, in a sense, she was).
Zai’s eyes slowly morphed back to their blue color as the world around her dimmed.
“Kali... huun.” Zai croaked out in goblin. Kali… go.
Zai felt as if her head had filled up with water as her knees buckled and suddenly her weight was held up by her neck. Her mind quietly registered one of her arms being let go… but she wasn’t sure which one. And then everything went black.
