It was over.
Silence had fallen, the music had run its course and so had Annie; her right hand quivered before clenching the empty plastic bottle and crushing it - gritting her teeth together in a deep growl as her square eyes glowed from underneath the shadow of her fringe. “You!” she raised a shaking finger at the short male who had just won, anger boiling within her as now her whole body had begun to shake. “It’s all your fault!” she spat, closing her eyes as a strange feeling had begun to build inside her. “Why couldn’t you have just left me alone?!” her yells and snaps were met with nothing but silence from both the male and his girlfriend which only infuriated the animal more.
Teeth gnashing still, Annie suddenly fell to her knees, violently coughing and spluttering - she felt as if her body was being torn, her lungs being ripped apart and her intestines yanked from her insides. Her vision was getting blurry as she couldn’t think straight, gripping the floor Annie felt her nails dig into the concrete as she bit down on her lip to suppress her screams. Her eyes looked as if they were melting as she began throwing up this black mucus from her mouth - coughing more and more violently.
Her opponent stepped forward and the moment she did, Annie cracked her neck to look up at the boy - gnashing her teeth in a sorry attempt to stop the mucus. “Get away!” she roared, her voice echoing around the dystopian hell they had all found themselves in. “You don’t understand me!” Annie yelled again, somehow finding some strength to stand to her feet - feeling her body melt from the inside. “Stop trying to act like you do! No one gets what I’ve been through!” her constant shouting was interrupted by more and more horrific splutters.
“I… I just…” she had begun to cry now, tears mixing with the streaks of her melted eye as she panted and whimpered, feeling alone and afraid as she looked up at Boyfriend as a frightened smile tugged at her broken, melting mouth. “Wanted to be… good enough…” she choked, coughing up the last of her melted organs and becoming a husk, a host to the enormous, twisted mouth now forcing its way open through her torso - fangs as sharp as daggers pushed their way out of the rim of the newly formed mouth. A tendril launched at Boyfriend, making him flinch waiting for the impact and the end of his life.
But… Nothing.
Sudden sounds of cars zipping past, horns blasting and people shouting filled his ears, jolting him back into consciousness as he looked around quickly. He was back, he was alive. But that didn’t make any sense…
‘I was just about to-’ before he finished his thought, he looked up at what was in front of him, panting slightly as adrenaline had started to only now kick in, his body could barely move yet he began to step forward as his girlfriend watched on in confusion, yet still smiling as she realised why he was so scared - for once she was thankful for her family.
‘Annie?’
