Chapter Text
Honestly, Diana wasn’t expecting her trip to go this way. She was forced to go on this trip because Hannah and Barbara insisted on her taking a break from her strenuous job as CEO of Cavendish Pharmaceuticals. They finally had enough when they saw her asleep at her desk for the 5th time in the same week.
So, against Diana’s better judgement and will (or what’s let of it at this point) she’s forced on a plane to God knows where and for how long. Okay so maybe she’s exaggerating because no one way in hell would she let Hannah and Barbara send her somewhere without her knowledge much less for how long cause she cannot be away for too long.
After much deliberation and long debates the Diana finally agreed with the girls to go to France. It is lovely there, the people are friendly, there’s a lot of history and it’s not too far so in case of any emergencies she can always jump on the first flight back to London.
Diana was expecting relaxation, perhaps worry over the company during the trip whilst she roams around the street and admiring the city. What she wasn’t expecting was to bump into a random woman, resulting them both on the floor.
“Ouch, shit sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
Diana could barely register what the lady was saying, she was far more focused on checking around her body for any bruises or cuts.
“Here let me help you up.”
Diana finally looked up to see a small hand thrust in front of her face, she looked up along the arm that lead to a pale Asian woman with long brown hair with bangs, oddly with half of the bangs tied up into a ponytail. But what really took Diana’s breath away was those gorgeous red eyes looking at her with such concern.
Diana took her arm with caution and honestly? She’s a raging homosexual and this lady is fucking fine as wine and yes okay it’s been a long time since Diana met anyone who has even piqued her interest let alone made her feel hot all over.
“It’s quite alright, I wasn’t looking where I was going either.” Diana said whilst brushing off any dirt that may have gone on her outfit. Diana knows she’s somewhat attractive but damn she will not some gravel ruin how she looks and her chances with this cute girl.
“But still I want to make it up to you! Can I treat you to dinner?”
Diana didn’t have the heart to turn down those earnest puppy eyes with and if she was being honest to herself, she didn’t want to. She wanted to know more about this pretty lady that has captured her attention and, what was it that Hannah and Barbara always mention when meeting someone new, their vibe and how good the vibe is?
Whenever they went on about these sort of things Diana never really understood what they meant by it, but now? She can kinda understand it.
Diana couldn’t help but smile at Akko and go “that’s really not necessary but I would love to meet for dinner.”
And with the smile Akko gave, Diana was so glad she didn’t say no because heavens above was it a radiant smile, and why the hell is her heart racing so fast?
Diana was just praying her cheeks weren’t tinged red because jesus fucking christ can her gay heart just calm down? It’s only been two seconds and she feels like she’s on the verge of a heart attack.
“Great! Can I get your name and number? The pretty lady suddenly blushed almost as red as her eyes as she quickly backtracked saying “Uhhh I um mean so I can uh give you the details for our date I mean it’s not a date but you know um for me knocking you flat on your bum. Not that you have a flat bum, you have a great bum. Wait not that I was looking oh my god sorry I just mean-”
Diana honestly had to hold down her smile because this lady was cute whilst rambling but also it was just so fun to see her try to get herself out the hole she created for herself. When it got to her butt though, Diana decided to save her (really save herself cause this gorgeous girl complimented her butt and she’s not even mad about it and she does not have time to unpack that right now).
“Don’t worry I know what you mean,” Diana threw a smile just to reassure the girl in front of her that she truly was not mad, “I’m Diana and you are?”
Akko grabbed the lifeline Diana threw her and went “I’m Akko.” She said whilst rubbing the back of her neck with her hand nervously, almost like she didn’t know what do with her hands.
“Well if you give me your phone I can give you my details and we can meet up for our dinner, I take it you will choose the place and time?” Diana said curiously through slightly hooded eyes.
Diana hasn’t flirted for so long she hopes she doesn’t look like an idiot trying to her the eyes.
Akko scrambled to try and find her phone in her pockets and Diana couldn’t help but smile at her dorkiness and eagerness. Maybe she wasn’t so out of touch after all.
Akko handed her phone to Diana with the new contact on the, she inserted “Diana Cavendish” and then her number, just before she gave it back, she a gave it a once over just to check it was correct. Courage rushed over Diana out of nowhere, but fuck it, Diana decided to get rid of her last name and put a heart next to her name. Before she could change her mind, she quickly gave the phone to Akko.
“Thanks, I’ll text you the details.”
Diana just nodded and Akko waved at her as she walked past, back to whatever she was doing. Akko was slowly walking backwards and ended up knocking the back of her head and back into a pole, not hard enough to be serious but just enough to make her put her hand behind her head and scrunch up her nose.
Diana couldn’t help but giggle at Akko, she was so charming in her own way, albeit a bit clumsy too.
Diana just waved back and carried on the scenic route she was on. Diana couldn’t help but notice how much she smiled and laughed around Akko.
She’s not usually an optimist, but she can’t help but think that maybe this holiday will be a good one, especially since she met Akko.
