a night under the stars (with you)

Summary:

“We should head back, Felix, it’s getting late.”

“We’re almost there, just a few more minutes.” Felix shot back as he continued to pull Chan deeper into the woods. He looked over his shoulder, a smirk presenting itself on his lips. “What? Are you scared?”

“Of course not! We’re just getting too far from the house and we could get lost.” Chan retaliates, red painting his ears. Felix turns around to face the older and slowly gets closer to him. “I know where we’re heading,” A hand makes its way to Chan’s ear, slightly pinching it, “You scaredy-cat.”

Work Text:

“I said I’m not scared!” Felix rolls his eyes fondly and proceeds to drag the other to their destination.

At least five minutes pass by and Chan begins to see light ahead of them. He squints his eyes to get a better look but to no avail, he still can’t make out what it is. “Where exactly are you taking me?” Chan walks up to Felix’s side, eyes still on the object in front of them. “You’ll see.~” Is all the younger one offers as an answer.

Finally, close enough, Chan can distinguish what’s in front of him; A gazebo. Six poles with a wide amount of space in between, covered in different types of fairy lights; Strings of them are attached diagonally to the very top to make up the roof.

Mindlessly, Chan continues to make his way to the structure. “Felix. . . When did you find this?” The said boy had stopped walking, too busy admiring the older. It takes him a few seconds to catch onto Chan’s question. “I found it a couple of days ago. I called Jisung earlier today to help me decorate it.” Chan turns to look at Felix, lending out a hand towards him. “It’s beautiful.” Felix slowly makes his way towards Chan, eyeing the gazebo with fascination. “I wanted to take your mind off of work,” he takes his lover’s hand in his, eyes finally meeting Chan’s. “You’ve been really stressed lately, thought this could help.” The older smiles softly, hand coming up to cup the boy’s face. “Thank you, love. I really appreciate this.”

Felix gives a chaste kiss to Chan’s lips before wrapping his arms around the older’s neck. Chan begins to hum a soft tune, settling his hands on Felix’s waist. The two begin to sway slowly from side to side, foreheads pressing onto one another.

“The bed has been getting lonelier as each night passes. . .” A whisper escapes the freckled boy.

“I know, my love, I’m sorry.”

“You barely leave your workspace, you’ve forgotten to take care of yourself.”

Felix moves away slightly, enough to look Chan in the eye. “I barely see you nowadays and I don’t know how to help without being a nuisance.” Both have now stopped swaying, silence covering them like a blanket. “Felix,” a hand caresses his cheek, “You’re never a nuisance to me. You never will. I’ll do a better job at managing my time.”

“Promise?”

“I promise.”

Felix grabs both of Chan’s hands and squeezes them, “Stay the night with me then?” a glint of hope could be seen in the boy’s eyes. Chan would be a wicked man to reject him and so with a smile filled with white, he says “Anything for you.”

A kiss is shared under a million sparkling stars.

Notes:

The gazebo in this is the exact same one from the Twilight scene. Sorry if my description of it was off.
