Your fingers started up the coffee bean grinder like a well oiled machine. It was 8AM on a Saturday morning, you thought the shop was going to be busy this morning, but it is dead at the moment. It is going to be the last summer you were working at your local coffee shop before college. Ender Eye University. Your dream school. It isn't some crazy prestigious Ivy League college, it is just a normal state school. Hell it not even that far away, it is really only about an hour away from your hometown of Orlando, but the thing is you couldn't picture yourself at any other University. Acceptance letters were coming out today for Ender Eye. Even though the school isn't crazy difficult to get into, you were still nervous. What if you didn't get in? Where else would you go? You can't see yourself at any other school! As you were daydreaming, actually more like thinking about your own personal nightmare, you heard the bell on the front door start to ring. Finally, something to distract you from your relentless worrying.
You look up to see a tall guy with green eyes and longer blond fluffy hair that reminded you of cotton candy. He was one of the cuter guys that have visited this coffee shop in recent times. Right after admiring his good looks you see what he is wearing. He is wearing a green Ender Eye University hoodie with a pair of bluejeans... Time for the worrying to start up again. Before you could even start to think about anything negative, he starts to order his coffee.
"Hey, could I get a medium Iced Frappuccino please." Said the attractive stranger. He looked a bit bored, picking at his cuticles while ordering the iced coffee. You do the same thing, so that action didn't surprise you at all.
"Of course!" You replied in your outgoing customer service voice. Not wanting to make this whole situation awkward, you start up a conversation with the cute young man while making his coffee. "So do you go to Ender Eye?" You ask while pointing to his neon green hoodie.
He looks up from his phone, seeming more excited this time, he responds, "Yeah I do. I just finished up my freshman year this month. I love the school, but at the same time I'm excited summer is here."
If cute boys like this go to Ender Eye, my love life will be more disappointed than my academic life if I don't get in. With a smile I respond, "Oh that is so cool! Ender Eye is actually my dream school. I applied to go there next year. I'm so nervous about acceptance letters coming out soon though. Just don't want to be too disappointed ya know."
"Oh I wouldn't even sweat about it. Even though I literally just met you like five minutes ago, you seem like such a cool person. I know that Ender Eye would be lucky to have you! If my dumbass friends can make it in, you will definitely get in as well. It will not surprise me one bit when I see you walking around campus next year." He said this with a small and friendly laugh at the end of his sentence.
Even though you just met this man, he has given me the best piece of encouragement you have gotten all month.
Just as you finish making his iced coffee you respond to him, "Thank you so much! You don't understand how much that meant to me." You give him his perfectly made Iced Frappuccino.
As you give the coffee to him, he looks to see a long line forming behind him. He responds to you for one last time, "Sorry if I kept you waiting at all. I can get a little talkative sometimes. But hey, I'll see you around campus sometime freshie." He ended that last sentence with a wink and quickly left the store.
Did you see that correctly? A wink!? Was he trying to flirt with you! While replaying that conversation in your head, you told the next customer that you were read for their order. You couldn't forget about that entire conversation you had with the attractive boy for the rest of your shift.
After helping many more customers you checked your phone. It was 2pm, your shift was over. Your co-workers could call you The Flash because you bolted out of the small coffee shop and got into your car. After the short drive home you opened your front door.
When you walked into the kitchen, you saw a large blue and green. It was a letter from Ender Eye University. You couldn't even contain your excitement. You open the envelope like a rabid animal. You finally got to the letter. You read it multiple to make sure it wasn't an mistake...
You could not believe your eyes! You got in! Cute coffee guy here I come!
