Work Text:
Bloom entered the apartment way past sunset. She promised, one more day, she would come and enjoy this moment with her two boyfriends, but another week went through with a blink of an eye, and, unfortunately, work got her best and she took her shoes off, defeated.
She could smell something more besides the flowers Linn put every single day on the table, replacing with their own choice and mood, just before the others wake up, when the first bird chirped at the window. Today, light pink chrysantemums adorned the now empty room, and Bloom smiled, remembering the early hours of that day, when the petals were still in place and she was still there, with the ones she loved, the cozy atmosphere filled with her favorite feeling and passerine singings. But the smell coming from the kitchen peeked her attention and, trying not to disturb whoever was in there, she quietly reached the door.
"Hey, my dear." Linn tweeted, turning their back only to take a glance at their girlfriend. "How was today?" They kept their attention at the task onto the counter, but Bloom couldn't resist hugging their waist and deposit a gentle kiss at their shoulder before answering.
"A little tiring, but not that much. Wednesdays don't get me that overwhelmed. Yours?" She rested her chin at the same spot, trying to take a glance at the ingredients to guess the dish.
"It was fine, I had less patients than expected, because two of them missed their appointments. So I came home earlier, as I told you." They cut the last piece of... What was it? Parsley? Hm... Nevermind. Bloom gave Linn a peck on the cheek, watching the reddish tone spread through their face like watercolor and a little smile appear to compose her favorite sight, right after hearing a small tweet.
When Bloom realized she stared for too long, a second thought ocurred in her head. "Where's Kookie, sweetheart?"
"Kookie's in bed already. He came here, greeted me and just plopped into bed, no bath, no skincare. I'm cooking something for us, my dear, expecting you could take care of our little bunny." Their eyes wore a strange kind of shine, the one that the elder knew already: concern. "I know you're tired, but... Could you?" They stopped. Whatever ingredient laid untouched at the cutting board, their frown deep and uneasy.
"Of course, sweetheart." She dragged her thumb along the forehead of the youngest, easing their tension bit by bit. "We'll both take care of him, like he always does to us. Okay?" Linn closed their eyes, nodding, leaning in the magic touch Bloom used to vanish their wrinkles. Bloom's heart always fluttered at the cheesy displays of affection her boyfriends expressed, even the timid ones. She gently placed her lips on their mideyebrow and let them cooking the meal.
The bedroom was quiet, besides the light snores coming from Jungkook's lightly open mouth, the boy laying sheepishly on the bed. Bloom knew he was exhausted by the lack of hygiene, always a priority. She entered the bathroom and started filling the bathtub with his favorite bath bombs and products to form bubbles, choosing a makeup remover right after stopping the water flow.
Bloom chirped Jungkook's nickname softly, about three times before hearing a small mumble leave his mouth. "Wake up", she breathed, cautiously placing her own body over his and starting to rub with gentleness the smooth cotton soaked with the facial product. "Linn is preparing your favorite food and I'm here to take you to the shower", she kept mumbling calm words to the boy, who showed slows signs of awakening. "We know you had a rough day and we're gonna take care of you, bunny."
The bunny smile he showed right after melted the younger's heart. Jeon always had that childish desires, so he appreciated being taken care just as he likes to give it. Kook knew his girlfriends were both as busy as him, so when he had the opportunity, he spoiled them as much as he could and more, with discreet thoughtful acts, gifts or just caress. But there were also his hardest days, not that common but yet existing, like today; the ones he knew, by the end of it, his love birds will treat him well.
Bloom helped Jungkook standing up and led him to the bathroom, just before rushing to the kitchen and inviting Linn to their bath, which they declined, but accepted the company. Soon the three were chatting about their days with humor and telling the most beautiful moments, with Linn patting Bloom's head while she washed Kook's hair, the latter constantly pecking the youngest's lips. The same atmosphere happened at dinner, the delicious tteokbokki filled their paladar and tummies with warmness and a wonderful taste, while the best stories were shared among them.
Truth be told - they were all tired, by the end. The three dragged themselves to the bed, lying with laziness and ready to close their eyes, when Jungkook whispered a simple "I love you, birds" before drifting off. Linn and Bloom exchanged looks and smiled at each other, knowing their job was done. But before the youngest could close their eyes, Bloom closed the space between their faces and brushed her lips against theirs. The gentle, soft, tender, dreamy lips of her boyfriend warmed up her own, whole body and heart, as the most intimate gesture they would always share - a kiss, fulfilled with meanings, feelings and passion. Even if it's light and quick - oh, well, that was just how they were, after all.
Love birds.
