Chapter Text
April 7th 2018
It was a cool, sunny morning in Seoul; one that was perfect for sleeping in an extra few hours. Thankfully, it was Saturday, and all of Seoul had the idea to rest today.
The maknae of BTS had this idea as well. He had shut off his alarm prior to falling asleep, making sure that he got as much as possible on his day off. BTS had been busy these past few weeks with interviews, appearances on talk shows, and the usual dance practices and vocal training. But not today, since their managers had graced them with a day off.
Jungkook hoped to spend this day doing the things he loved most: sleeping in, eating Seokjin's cooking, and most importantly, spending time with his boyfriends. He and his members had been in a big loving polyamorous relationship for 2 years now, and Jungkook had never been happier.
Well— that wasn't entirely true.
While he loved his boyfriends, he had his little secret.
Jeon Jungkook was a little; someone who age regresses to cope with stress; and a lot of stress comes with being an idol. Especially a member of BTS; one of the most renounced boy bands ever in all of the universe. While he loved his hyungs by day, Jungkook slipped into littlespace by night, thanks to him having a bedroom all to himself.
Though there was one problem.
"KOOKIE KOOKIE!! BWEKFAST TIME!!!" A loud voice exclaimed as someone pounced on top of Jungkook, shaking the mattress of his full-sized bed by jumping up and down. Jungkook groaned, 'It's too early for this...'
Jungkook opened his eyes slightly, only to be flashed by both the beam sunlight shining on his face, and his one and only sunshine-hyung. Though he wasn't hyung at the moment.
"KOOKIE!! APPA MAKE BWEKFAST PANCAKES!!! WAKE UP WAKE UP—"
"Okay okay, I'm up!" Jungkook shoved the little off of him, though making sure he didn't accidentally send the boy flying off the side of the bed. Sometimes he just forgot how strong he was.
Jungkook sat up, face to face with one of the littles he had to deal wi— look after. Not only was he himself a little, but so was his Hobi-hyung, Yoongi-hyung, and his fellow maknae liners. With so many littles in the household, Jungkook was foolish to think he'd get to spend time with his boyfriends today.
He was going to be babysitting instead.
"Cmoonnn Kookie!" Hobi tugged on Jungkook's hand, trying to get him out of bed. Jungkook begrudgingly got up and out of bed, not worrying about changing out of his pajamas since it was just breakfast. Hobi clung to Jungkook's hand the whole time, blabbering to the taller about some dinosaur cartoon he had watched. Jungkook hated how a part of him was truly interested in what Hobi was talking about. 'Must be him trying to come out—he should know by now.' Jungkook thought to himself.
Jungkook wanted to be mad at how Hobi woke him up so rudely—but he could only be mad at himself, really.
He should've just came out about his littlespace when all his other hyungs did...
"I'm a little." Yoongi said, looking down at his lap as he fidgeted with Seokjin's hand that had rested on said lap. The others in the living room looked at Yoongi in shock, though not because they didn't know about littlespace already.
"I've been looking after him in our shared room most days, though now that we're all dating, we thought that we should tell you all about this..." Seokjin added, giving Yoongi a comforting side hug. The smaller's face was covered in worry for his boyfriend's reactions to this."
"You... You're serious about being a little, right?" Namjoon asked, his eyes not so subtly flicking back to Taehyung who sat next to him on the couch. Yoongi nodded, not looking up.
"Taetae, you want to tell them, or should I?"
At first it had just been Yoongi and Taehyung that were Bangtan's littles. But then—
"What's all the noise? Is everything alright in there?!" Seokjin banged on Hoseok and Jimin's shared room's door. There had been a lot of thumping, and all the noise had woken Yoongi— or Yoonie— from his nap. The others had crowded around the door, except for Namjoon, who was trying to get Yoonie to fall back asleep in his bedroom.
"N-Nothing!!!! Don't come in!!" A voice, one higher pitched than any of the voices Jungkook had ever heard from his hyungs, answered.
"Yeah, well I'm coming in the check." Seokjin replied, grabbing the spare key to their room, the one they had incase of emergencies. He unlocked the door, and opened it wide enough for everyone to see. The scene was as clear as day: Hoseok was silently crying, practically covered in a mountain of blankets (some that had childish colors and designs on them; probably taken from Taehyung and Yoongi), and Jimin was cuddled up next to him, also crying, trying to shush and calm him down. There were coloring books and crayons scattered on the floor, which explained everything.
"I- I sowwy! Hobi cry n' I twied to h-help!!" A sad, teary eyed Jimin wailed, burying his face into the blanket mountain.
Everything happened so fast. Jungkook stood in the doorway, mouth agape. Now there were four, four littles in the BTS dorm. Seokjin and Taehyung, who was big at the moment, calmed down the two littles with ease. It astonished Jungkook at how good they were at taking care of littles, even though Taehyung was one himself.
Why couldn't he be like that?
"We need to talk about this." Seokjin said to no one specifically, but they all understood.
There was no right time for him to speak up— he couldn't.
"I think we all need to help out." Namjoon led the conversation in the living room. The others sat on the sofas, while the leader sat in the arm chair.
"Firstly, with a relationship as big as ours, we should all pitch in equally—it's only fair. I think that since four out of seven of us are littles, we'll definitely have our hands full. Especially at times when all four of you slip all together at the same time." The leader continued, and Jungkook's stomach sank in anticipation.
"When you guys aren't little, I think you should help out with watching after the others. Jin-hyung, Kook-ah and I are fulltime caregivers—"
No no no no no no no no
"And maybe you could all be part-time, at least?"
He can't— he's not.
"Works for me, I don't mind helping out." Yoongi shrugged nonchalantly.
Taehyung nodded as well, "Of course hyung! You all care for me, so it's the least I can do."
Jungkook— he's not like that, he doesn't know how.
"That's a good idea Namjoonie, we can all help each other!" Hoseok chimed in with his heart-shaped smile.
Jimin answered as well, "Mhm! I have no problem pitching in, we're all in this together, right?"
Jungkook's slipping, he's slipping, he's—
"Aish, and here I was watching after all you guys with just Joonie and Kookie by my side. We should've had this conversation sooner." Seokjin stated playfully, calming the atmosphere a bit.
"Well, Jungkook-ah, how about you? I know you're already a caregiver for these rascals, but are you okay with them helping out?" Namjoon asked.
Kookie doesn't... Kookie doesn't know.
Caregiver? No no no Kookie can't! He can't! He...
"Kook-ah?"
Kookie hummed, not really sure how to answer. He knew he couldn't be honest, Jungkook would be mad at him, and he didn't want that.
"Yeah," He said in his big voice, one that he had mastered a long time ago.
"It's okay."
Jungkook arrived with an overly hyped little to the dining room. He saw Taetae and Minnie, dressed in matching pastel, comfy outfits. Both of them were smiling, though they smiled brighter when Hobi arrived with Jungkook.
"APPA I BRING KOOKIE!!—"
"Inside voice, Hobi." Namjoon reminded, taking a sip of his morning coffee. The little sheepishly muttered an apology, before waddling his way onto Namjoon's lap.
"Morning Kook-ah" Namjoon greeted, flashing Jungkook with his beautiful dimples. Jungkook yawned in response, grabbing a seat next to the leader and Hobi. Namjoon ruffled Jungkook's hair, which was something the maknae loved. It made him feel small, and cute, even if he couldn't be.
"Daddy, can- can we play outside today?" Taetae asked with Minnie nodding his head happily to the idea.
"Hmmm..." Namjoon pondered dramatically, "I don't see why not." The dining room erupted with cheers, and while Jungkook liked the idea of playing outside, he knew he wasn't going to be the one having fun.
"Yah! Settle down monkeys, breakfast is done!" Seokjin called out as he entered the dining room with a tray of eggs and bacon, as well as a jug of milk. Trailing behind him was Yoongi—who Jungkook presumed—helped cook breakfast. The shorter was holding a tray of silly-shaped pancakes, as well as some fruits. In his other hand he held a jug of orange juice.
As they placed the platter on the dining table, all the littles reached their hands over to the stack of pancakes. Some were heart shaped, and others had the shape of animals.
Once everyone was settled, they could finally eat. Jungkook watched as the once tall stack of pancakes, turned into an empty tray. A part of him wanted to cry, though it was just a stupid pancake.
He watched his band members happily munch on the pancakes, sipping on their sippy cups of milk. Except for Taetae, who insisted he drink orange juice like a big kid.
Hobi needed a bit of help from Namjoon to cut up his three pancakes into smaller pieces. Despite his hyungs being little, they still maintained their appetites from when they were big.
Jungkook was startled by scrambled eggs dropping onto his plate, as well as some bacon. "Eat up Kookie, we got a busy day today," Seokjin chided as he went to go serve himself.
Despite it being his hyung's cooking—which he was always happy to eat— today he wasn't in the mood for a big breakfast.
He wanted pancakes.
Though it wasn't like his hyung would be making any more, even if he asked nicely. Jungkook would probably be told: "Kook-ah I'm tired, make it yourself," or "What, are you a little too?"
He sighed, sticking his fork into the eggs. He could just slip later, once everyone was asleep.
"Everyone listen up, Hobi has a special announcement;" Namjoon announced, gaining the attention of everyone, including Jungkook who had zoned out for the most part.
"GUYS I—"
"Inside voices please," Seokjin reminded. Hobi was pretty young in his headspace, around 3 years old, and needed reminding from time to time.
"Sowwy Appa." He apologized before continuing, "Guys we should have a sweep over to-today cus it would be lots o' fun!!"
"Yeah!! I wanna have a sleep over with-with everyone!!" Minnie exclaimed happily, kicking his feet under the table.
"Appa! Appa, can we bake choc-chip cookies too?" Taetae added, giving Seokjin his best puppy-dog eyes.
"Of course we can, anything for you my little tiger," Seokjin cooed, and Taetae smiled gleefully.
Jungkook felt his insides twist and turn. He wanted to be like that. Kookie wanted to be a little tiger too. No, not a tiger, a bunny. He wanted to be fed pancakes by daddy, or be cooed at by Appa.
He wanted to bake cookies, and play outside, and have sleepovers, and eat silly pancakes, and wear cute comfy clothes! Unbenounced to Kookie, he had been pouting at his dull looking eggs the whole time.
No one seemed to notice though—they too busy in their own conversations. Taetae did however, and gave Jungkook an innocent confused look.
Kookie noticed, and mustered his best bunny smile to give to Taetae, who smiled happily back. Deep down, Kookie was jealous— though he had learned to hide that a long time ago.
"Say Yoongi-ah, why don't you slip today too? It's our day off, and you've been working hard in the studio all month." Seokjin suggested, pinching Yoongi's cheek caringly.
"Yeah, I was thinking of slipping later for the sleepover..." Yoongi answered, before shyly adding, "you guys will be there too right? The caregivers?"
Out of habit, Kookie answered before Seokjin could. Kookie had learned to respond to any question directed at a caregiver, despite him not knowing how to be one. "Of course, hyung," He smiled to the rapper. Kookie knew quite a few words, but not enough to give complex responses. Though the little was unaware that he had just signed himself up for the sleepover, the one that would happen instead of him slipping in the safety of his bedroom.
And there were no take backs now.
Yoongi gave Kookie his gummy smile, the one that the younger loved so much. "Thanks Kookie, knew I could count on you,"
Despite Kookie not liking his role as a caregiver, he felt good seeing his hyung happy. He felt like a good boy, and that made him feel happy.
So what if he couldn't be little, at least big Jungkook would be proud of him. At the end of the day, that was all he wanted.
