Work Text:

Mina was known for her multiple relationships. Never having the ability to stay with the same person for more than three months. The reasons being different every time when asked to explain the demise of her relationship.

"Monoma wasn't fun enough. He always talked about the class," she said as she flipped through a magazine.

"Bakugou is better off as a friend. That pomeranian is too picky and obsessed with training," she groaned out as she sipped her soda.

"Momo wasn't bad but her lifestyle is completely different from what I'm used to," Mina explained as she pouted, staring at Momo from across the room.

Everytime a relationship went sour, Mina always had a reason. Nobody knew what to do to satisfy her pretentious taste. Eventually a period of time came when nobody on campus had saw Mina with anybody. She wasn't in a relationship. No matter what day or hour, Mina was always spotted alone. Never dressing up to go dancing like she normally did. Never rushing home from school to go on a date. Questions and suspicions were starting to arise.

These suspicions where put to rest the week before final exams. Studying and training being the only things filling everyone's mind. Everyone but one, Uraraka was never one to let stuff like this go dead.

"Hey Mina," Uraraka said as she sat down beside the pink girl with a bowl of popcorn on the couch.

"Hey Uraraka! Can I have some," Mina questioned looking at the bowl.

Sure," Uraraka responded handing the bowl toward Mina, watching her reach her hand to eat.

"Mina I got a question to ask you," Uraraka started off cautiously.

"Shoot away," Mina said as her eyes zoned in onto the tv.

Uraraka took a deep breathe before starting to speak.

"So I've noticed that recently you haven't been going out as much. Is there a reason for that," she quickly spilled before watching the girl next to her freeze.

Mina's eyes became big and dilated you would think she just saw her life flash before her eyes. Mina quickly began to shake her head, stuffing the last bit of popcorn in her hand into her mouth.

"Something is definitely up. I'll figure it out," Uraraka said before standing up and walking to the kitchen.

As she walked past the bottom of the stairs, Iida steeped in front of her and tapped her shoulder.

"Have you seen Mina? We were suppose to study together," Iida questioned as he looked around.

"Living room," Uraraka said without thinking about it and continued walking.

Iida grunted in acknowledgment before walking towards the living room. A faint conversation could be heard before Mina and Iida returned.

"Uraraka please make sure to clean that dish," Iida voiced in usual stern tone.

"Of course Iida. How could I forget? You literally have a sticky note above the sink," Uraraka replied sarcastically as she held the green paper in her hand.

"Well as long as you know. We'll be on our way now," Iida stated as he waited for Mina to walk ahead of him before following behind.

"Yeah yeah," Uraraka said to herself before freezing.

Mina is studying with Iida?!? Mina the party girl? Mina the girl who's motto in life, "Whatever happens is just what happens?" That Mina is studying?

Uraraka gasped to herself as she quickly emptied and washed her bowl before sneaking to the 3rd floor. She silently tiptoed down the hallway receiving stares from Jirou and Kaminari who just shrugged it off.

"She's just being herself," Jirou said to Kaminari as she continued down the hallway.

Uraraka reached Iida's door, quietly placing her ear to the door to listen. She heard the sound of a chair scraping across the floor and hushed laughter. Her interests piqued as a conversation was began unfolding.

"What was so urgent that you texted me like that," Iida started off, the sound of his feet become distant.

"I got scared! Uraraka had started asking questions about why I don't go out anymore," Mina's voice rang out as her footsteps too became distant.

Iida laughed before speaking. "So that was the big emergency? Why didn't you tell her?"

"How am I suppose to just come out to my best friend and be like, "Oh it's nothing I've just been dating the class president for the last two months," Mina retorted as Uraraka gasped.

"Oh my god," Uraraka whispered to herself as she continued to listen.

"Well they're going to have to find out eventually. Hiding becomes tiring after a while," Iida said as the sound of his bed creaked.

"I know. I know," Mina said as the sound of the bed creaking became louder. "It just seems like the right time never comes."

"Well how about after final exams? When everyone's head is clear," Iida suggested.

"That sounds nice. I'm just scared. I don't want anyone to say stuff about you," Mina voiced, her voice dropping towards the end.

"It doesn't matter what anyone says. We're dating and that's it," Iida said as if there was not a care in the world.

Mina giggled and the smile on her face was more than evident. You could hear just how happy she was by being with Iida.

Uraraka quickly and quietly stood up and tiptoed down the hallway. Upon reaching the stairs, she took off towards the 5th floor desperately needing to relay this news to someone else.

Uraraka impatiently shifted from foot to foot as she stood in front of the door. She knocked again before being met with the silly froggy smile she loved.

"Ochaco? What are you knocking so loud for," Tsuyu questioned as she stood there half awake.

"Were you sleeping? I'm sorry but I have something I need to tell you," Uraraka relayed as she walked into the room.

"Let it out," Tsuyu replied before shutting her door and sitting on her bed.

Uraraka spilled everything she had learned to Tsuyu. The amphibians face lit up with excitement as she listened to the details.

"Woah. That's a combo I never thought of," Tsuyu said as she put her finger to her mouth.

"I know right! I'm so happy for them," Uraraka said as she hugged a pillow to her chest.

"So what are you going to do? Are you going to confront them," Tsuyu questioned staring Uraraka in the face.

"No! Of course not! I'm going to pretend like everything's fine until they are ready to tell everyone," Uraraka mumbled off thinking about all the different reactions the announcement will receive.

Tsuyu smiled before turning to hug Uraraka.

"It's reasons like this that make you so perfect," Tsuyu muttered into Uraraka's neck.

Uraraka wrapped her arms around returning Tsuyu's hug before they laid together, falling asleep with their hands around each other's waist.

Uraraka did just as she said. She let the week go by pretending she knew not a thing. Mina was hesitant to be alone with Uraraka after what happened but eventually she eased back into her normal self. Time went by and before they knew it final exams were over.

"Yes! Finally over," Sero exclaimed in relief as Aizawa walked out the class with the tests.

"My head hurts," Kaminari said as he sat his head on the desk.

"It's a good thing I managed to finish in time," Kirishima said as he turned in his seat.

Iida approached the front of the class with Momo to go over the agenda for the rest of the school day. Once finished Iida asked Momo to sit down.

"I have an announcement to make," Iida said, his remark being ignored by the class.

"Can everyone pay attention please," the only people focusing on him being Mina, Tsuyu and Uraraka.

"Can y'all listen please," Mina yelled as she slammed her hands against her desk.

"Woah what's up with raccoon eyes," Bakugou snarked as he stared at her.

"Fuck off," Mina retorted before standing up and walking to the front of the class.

Iida cleared his throat before speaking.

"I would just like to say that I-," he cut himself off, nervousness overtaking his body.

Mina noticed and lightly placed her hand in the small of his back before taking over.

"What Iida was trying to say was," Mina started to finish his sentence. "We're dating."

The classroom was silent. So quiet you could the conversations from the next classroom clearly. That was until suddenly clapping began from the back of the classroom.

Everyone's eyes turned to look at Uraraka as she sat there clapping and smiling. Tsuyu quickly caught on before clapping with her. Slowly and scattered, clapping erupted from the classroom causing the newly announced couple to smile.

"Thank you guys," Mina said staring at Uraraka and Tsuyu with tears in her eyes.

She had just overcame one of the hardest challenges that stood in her life at the moment. She felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

The tears started to fall out her eyes and before anyone in class could catch it, she was pulled into an embrace by oh so familiar arms.

"Don't cry. They'll think they did something wrong," Iida tried to comfort as he rubbed his hand along Mina's back.

Mina let out a tiny giggle before wrapping her arms around Iida returning the hug.

"I'm just so happy," she whispered into his chest only loud enough for him to hear.

Iida smiled and stood there embracing Mina as she continued to cry for joy.

Eventually word spread across campus that "Pretentious Mina" had finally settled down. Iida and Mina's relationship was mostly meet with congrats but not everyone was happy.

"Oh so you finally decided your new plaything? How long until you drop him," Monoma sneered at Mina one day as she walked down the hallway hand in hand with Iida.

"Give it up Monoma. It's been over 6 months a since we dated. Haven't you moved on," Mina groaned as she leaned her head into Iida's side.

"Of course I have! I moved on plenty before you did," Monoma answered as he stuck his nose in the air.

"Then why are you standing here taking up our time? We have better things to do," Mina muttered out through clenched teeth.

"Now now. There's no need to rush. I have all the time in the world to stand here," Monoma smirked as stood there with his arms crossed.

"Is that so? Then you wouldn't mind us walking away? We have a date to get to," Iida said as he walked past Monoma dragging Mina behind him.

The angry shouts and stomps of the boy behind them were drowned out in the sound of their laughter. Nothing could ruin the happiness they've created with each other. Not even Monoma.
