Punching Nazis gone Wrong

Summary:

Post-Left had an accident while punching a Nazi, and Anqueer is there to take care of qim.

Notes:

I think, I kept the discriptions for the injury fairly simple, but if you can't read about this stuff at all, this might not be for you

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The sound of someone clearing their throat cut through the silence Anqueer had been enjoying for the past five hours. Everyone had gone out today, and they really didn't expect anyone to come back before dinner. Surprised, they raised their head, their eyes meeting Post-Left's.
"Oh hi." A smile crawled onto their face as qi walked up to them. Qi had been out with InsAn for some sort of counter protest – which probably didn't end well, it never did – and qim coming back alone seemed weird to Anqueer. "Didn't expect you to show up this early, to be honest," they admitted, their gaze falling back onto the video game they were playing.

"Well… I just had to leave a bit earlier." The noise of Post-Left's bat being thrown into the corner reached their ears, and only seconds after they felt qim sitting down next to them.
Anqueer gave them another quick look, slightly raising an eyebrow. "Why? What happened?" This was quite concerning. While they didn't know Post-Left fully yet, they were quite sure, qi wasn't one to leave protests early without valid reasoning.
"Uhm… I hurt my hand while, y'know, punching a Nazi." The embarrassment in qis voice was hard to miss. "InsAn told me, you'd take care of it but if you don't want to, that's fine, too. Not like I've never had to take care of a wound myself…"

"No, no! It's fine!" Anqueer really didn't want to seem like Post-Left was bothering them. Qi was doing the exact opposite; they were happy to have qim around. "Let me just finish this round. I'll take care of your hand after that," they promised, concentrating back onto the game, less focused, though, because not paying attention to Post-Left seemed nearly impossible.
Qi nodded and smiled, causing a warm, cozy feeling to fill their chest. "Thanks," qi muttered, qis head slowly leaning to qis right until it reached Anqueer's shoulder.
"No problem," they mumbled, Post-Left's fluffy hair softly tickling their chin.

"Is it fun?" Qi muttered while slowly cuddling up to them. Qi was so warm, it was unbelievable.
"Mh?"
"The game. Is it fun?" Qi chuckled, all the embarrassment qi seemed to have felt before having disappeared from qis tone.
"It's enjoyable. Has some critical depictions of gender roles and the heteronormativity is annoying, but I've seen worse," they mumbled and leaned into the warm touch. "If you want to, you can join me later."
Post-Left shook qis head. "I like watching you play. It's relaxing."

"Well, then I have bad news for you. Round's over now, I gotta take a look at your hand now," Anqueer smirked, slowly getting up and walking towards the cupboard which held the anarchists' first aid kit. It wasn't hard to find; Anpac had actually placed it in a way which was fairly easy to see, so she could get it quickly whenever anyone was hurt – which happened more often than they liked to admit.
Anqueer grabbed it and sat back down, holding out their hand for Post-Left to show them qis. Qi immediately understood and followed their request, their eyebrows narrowing in worry as they got a look at qis fingers. "Fuck, that's bad. Does it hurt a lot?" Their concerned gaze wandered over the bleeding wound as Post-Left nodded slightly, noticing something that looked a lot like pieces of broken glass.

"Is this… glass?"
Post-Left laughed nervously and nodded. "Yeah, I kinda missed that fascist's face and landed directly in a broken glass bottle."
"Happens to the best," they smiled tenderly, trying to make qim feel comfortable, and grabbed a pair of tweezers from the first aid kit. "Just so you're warned, that's probably going to hurt like shit."
"I know," qi squeezed qis eyes shut, waiting for the pain. "I had to pull pieces of glass out of a shoulder of a friend of mine once, and I basically had to stuff her mouth with some fabric, so the police didn't hear her scream. Admittedly not the best day of my life." Qi whimpered while Anqueer pulled out the first piece of glass.

"Oh, really? How did she get that injury?" They were trying their best to distract qim. Maybe if qi was concentrating on remembering the details of that situation, it wouldn't hurt as much.
"It was at a protest – I think stupid injuries like these always happen at protests – and at some point we had destroyed the windows of this building-" A loud squeak left qis mouth when Anqueer carefully pulled out another piece of glass.
"Is the pain still bearable?"
"It's fine. Go on," qi answered, breathing out shakily and slowly opening qis eyes again, just to squeeze them back together as soon as Anqueer pulled out another one.
"What kind of building was it?" They tenderly stroked alongside Post-Left's tanned arm, feeling qim relax underneath their touch.

"Might've been a bank, but I'm not sure." Qi bit qis lip and flinched in pain.
"A bank would definitely make sense. What happened after that? I'm curious." They didn't stop concentrating on the wound. That would only lead to Post-Left experiencing more pain than needed.
"I'm pretty sure, the cops started fighting us and pushed her to the ground, right into the glass. She was lucky, she- Ouch! She only hurt her shoulder. A lot of people injured their faces, I think one even got some glass in their eye… Really hope they're doing okay."
Anqueer seemed to be nearly finished. They were only able to see three more pieces, hoping not to overlook some. They added their newest onto an old newspaper they had found on the floor.

"I hope so, too. What happened after she fell?" Their decision to distract Post-Left had developed into actual curiosity – not that Anqueer hadn't been interested in the first place; they were always glad when they were able to find out more about qim.
"I pulled her up and ran away. We ended up in some sort of dark alley and y'know, I took care of her wound, and- Fuck, that hurts!" Anqueer had just removed the biggest piece, causing Post-Left to moan in pain.
"Sorry," they muttered, an apologizing smile on their face.
"It's okay.., I'm okay." Qi slowly breathed in and out and relaxed notably.

"These fucking fascists…" They mumbled, shaking their head. "Maybe I'll join you for the next protest. The more people against them, the better."
Post-Left smiled softly. "I'd love that," they said, followed by a sharp scream as Anqueer pulled out another piece of glass.
"I'm nearly done, don't worry." They pressed a short kiss onto Post-Left's forehead, in hope to make qim relax again. "Why don't you tell me a bit about what happened after you took care of her wound, mh?"
"Sure, uhm… I obviously wasn't able to find all the pieces in the dark, so she had to go to the hospital the next day to get it checked, and, I think, she had some kind of infection."
Well, that wasn't very motivating, was it? "But she is fine now, right?" They asked while pulling out the last visible piece, causing Post-Left to once again flinch and whimper.
"I don't know," qi mumbled, while Anqueer took another very close look at qis injury, to see if they'd be able to find more. "We haven't talked in like a decade, to be honest. She moved away shortly after that, we stopped talking, and I've never seen her again."
"Oh no. I'm sorry to hear that." Now they felt bad.

"Don't worry, it's fine. We weren't that close anyways." Qi slowly opened qis eyes again, carefully observing qis wound.
"Do you see anything I left out?"
Post-Left shook qis head. "Nope," qi stated, seemingly unbothered by qis bloody wound.
"Guess, I'll have to disinfect you now."
"Oh fuck, that's gonna hurt again," qi laughed nervously.
"Yeah, but then it's over," they promised in an apologizing tone while grabbing the disinfectant. "Just try to think about something else, okay?"

"I'll try," qi sighted.
The second Anqueer started disinfecting the wound, a shaky whimper left qis mouth, qis free hand forming a fist. They tried their best to ignore qis suffering. It would be over soon and then Post-Left would finally be able to relax again.
As soon as Anqueer stopped, qi sighted relieved, qis eyes following the movement of their hand heading back to the first aid kit and pulling out a bunch of band-aids. "I don't think, one would be enough, and the gauze bandages we once had, are all used now, so I guess, that's the only thing I could use. I hope that's fine with you."

"Of course," qi smiled, watching Anqueer carefully place the band-aids onto qis hand. "Thanks," qi whispered after giving their work a close look.
"No need to thank me. I'm sure, if Anpac would've been here, she would've done a much better job."
Post-Left shook qis head. "I'm glad you did it. Y'know, talking to you is really nice."
Anqueer felt the heat rise to their cheeks. The smile that crawled onto their face wasn't stoppable, even if they would have tried. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, despite the… pain"

Qi just nodded, qis eyes glued onto Anqueer's face. "Christ, I really want to kiss you right now."
"I'm aware," they chuckled, their fingers moving towards Post-Left's chin and pushing it up a little, just to lean down and find qis lips with theirs.
This certainly wasn't the first kiss they shared with each other, but it still felt somewhat new to Anqueer. They'd had enough time to get used to the ways the other anarchists' kissed but Post-Left hadn't been here for too long, so it still had something exiting about it. The way qi moved qis lips and their texture where so different from the others', it was crazy.

"You wanna continue playing the game, now?" Qi asked calmly as soon as their lips parted.
"If you want me to, sure," Anqueer laughed quietly, quickly petting qis hair. "Let me just put back the first aid kit, though."
Post-Left nodded, slowly crawling behind Anqueer as soon as they came back, wrapping qis arms around their waist and resting qis chin on their shoulder. Leaning into the unbelievable warmth of this hug, they started the next round and smiled.

Seriously, Post-Left made them feel so much at the same time.
Their smile widened. They were called Anqueer for a reason, weren't they?
