Work Text:
Faye and Tyler enter the diner, Faye stretching as she enters.
"Damn, why does this place have to be such a trek from your house?" Faye asks, putting her paws back in her pockets.
"Sorry," Tyler mutters quietly, "I just thought it would be nice to have a walk down instead of driving, it being a nice day and all."
"It's alright, it was a nice walk to be fair." Faye says, making Tyler blush a little. "Here, lets find ourselves a seat."
Tyler nods as they look around the diner. It's mostly empty, safe for the one person sitting in the far back corner. He looks to be a grey wolf, and he keeps giving the two sidelong glances, but Tyler can't seem to recognize him.
Faye starts to pull on Tylers sleeve. "Lets go sit over there." She points and starts to walk towards the other end of the diner.
Tyler follows, looking confused. "Do you recognize that guy or something?"
She ignores him as they sit down in the booth. She hands him one of the menus. "You have an idea of what you want to order?"
Tyler is slow to answer, giving her a glance up from the menu. "An idea, yeah. What about you?"
She continues to read the menu, not looking up to meet his gaze. "I think I do as well."
They sit in silence as they wait for someone to take their order. Faye keeps taking glances at the wolf in the corner, looking more and more uncomfortable.
Tyler, looking even more confused now, breaks the silence. "Ok seriously, who is that guy? You can't seem to stop looking at him, it's giving me the creeps."
She looks up at Tyler and sighs. "He's... an old friend of mine. Never thought I'd see him again."
"Then why don't you go up and talk with him?"
"No!" She says, her tone final. "Listen, I'll explain later, alright? Now, let's order." She gestures to the waiter approaching their table.
Tyler gives Faye a look, then goes along with it. He orders (burger and fries probably), Faye ordering (something similar probably). The waiter walks away with their order, and the silence continues, Tyler fidgeting a little at the awkwardness of the situation.
He doesn't have to wait for something to break the silence however as he notices the wolf from the corner of his eye get up and start walking over to their side.
Faye starts to mutter something under her breath but before Tyler can ask what, the wolf reaches the table.
"Hey guys! How are y'all doin?" His voice is gruff, almost worn out sounding, but his tone is pleasant enough.
"Alright." Tyler says, a little quieter than usual. Faye doesn't say a word, choosing to glare at the wolf instead.
"Little quiet today, are we?" The wolf asks, seemingly more directed towards Faye than Tyler. "That's alright. Names Marcus. Do you remember me at all?" This time he's only looking at Faye, ignoring me entirely now.
"Fuck you." She says, her glare unbroken from his face.
"Ohhh, you do remember me." He says, then laughs. "That confidence is as fake as I remember it being."
"You sure you wanna try that?" She says, her tone serious and aggressive.
"I think I do." He ponders for a moment. "Hey, aren't you still trying to do that whole changing gender thing, right? Faye flinches a little and he laughs. "What a fucking weirdo. You're still the same guy no matter what you know. You're always gonna be the same bitch I met in high school, even if you dress or act differently.
Tyler sees her paws ball up into fists as she glares at Marcus, muttering something under her breath.
"Nobody is going to change who you were originally, and that's who you're always gonna be. It's quite funny actually, to see you this disillusioned towards this shit, actually believing it all. You've never been the smartest, have you?
"Shut your mouth before I deck the shit out of you." The anger present in her voice is getting more apparent now.
"Oho, are we getting mad? You wont hit me, you're too much of a pussy. All you foxes are twink little bitches anyways, you couldn't hurt me if you tried. Besides, it's always been fun to play with you (Faye deadname), ya kn-
He doesnt get to finish his sentence as Faye jumps out of the booth snarling and slugs him in the face, letting him hit the ground with a resounding grunt. She quickly jumps on top of him, slides her taser out of her pocket, and sticks it to his neck, shocking him.
"Faye!" Tyler calls out, but it's no use, she doesn't seem to hear him. She just continues to hold the taser to Marcus's neck as he grunts and squeals in pain, trying to shake loose as best he can, to no avail.
Eventually, after what seemed like forever, she stops and gets off of him, letting Marcus roll around on the floor, seemingly out of it.
"Is he gonna be alright?" Tyler asks with some concern in his voice as he watches Marcus try to move away with little success.
"He'll be alright." Faye says, looking him over with Tyler. "I just gave him every second of disgust he made me feel with the tazer. Fucker deserved every last second and more. I Would have done more if I wasn't worried about seriously hurting him, even if I really wanted to." She sighs. "This was a pretty shitty date huh?"
"That's an understatement..." mutters Tyler, a paw to the bridge of his nose. "Could have been worse though, and I suppose he got what was coming for him."
Faye snickers in response. "That's for sure. Now, let's get the hell out of here. I don't wanna look at his face for another second."
Tyler nods and together they walk past Marcus, who seems to be whimpering something under his breath. He'll leave eventually, or the cops will handle it. Either or.
"Oh, almost forgot." Faye quickly jumps back over Marcus and puts a 20 and a 10 on the counter. "Still gotta pay, even if we didn't get our food." And with that, they leave the practically empty diner.
