Chapter Text
“Wanna spar?”
Izuku blinked blankly at Ochako.
By all means, he should’ve felt anxious with how she had got into his personal bubble again, it was almost a trained response at this point.
But he didn’t.
He didn’t know why. Maybe it was the blunt way she asked that got his brain to hard-reset and shed what possible anxiety he would’ve had. A beautiful woman or not, his self-conscious mind didn’t want to consider any of the implications and panic like he would’ve.
Rather all of his processing power gripped onto the opportunity she had so easily tossed at him.
Maybe it was the shine in her eyes that got him to understand how much she wanted it too, maybe he didn’t really care and just really wanted to feel the fight they could share.
“Of course.”
The way Ochako smiled at him got his heart pumping.
Ochako thought she was into normal things, but that was before she tasted what it was like to fight like Izuku.
There was something so freeing about fighting like it was life or death; feeling her body obey her will the best it could before giving out under her with the satisfaction of knowing it did all it could and then some, the way the aches faded as adrenaline replaced everything else in her blood.
It probably wasn’t good for her body by any means of the word, but she didn’t really care about that if it meant she got to feel that rush again. The training with Gunhead didn’t quite scratch the itch that her fight against Bakugou during the Sports Festival had created.
And if she was honest with herself, she really didn’t want to fight against that yappy pomeranian anytime soon. Even if he was partially to blame for her ‘awakening’ of sorts, explosions didn’t feel the same as impacts from a fist.
That and he was a bastard. Ochako would’ve preferred sitting in front of Mineta than to interact with Bakugou more than she absolutely had to.
“Today is all about sparring,” Aizawa drawled, All Might nodding along next to the scruffy teacher. “Pick a partner and go at it. Within logical limits, don’t make us step in, problem kids.”
Ochako considered her options around her 19 classmates. There was no decision. There was no need to think about it for more than a second.
Her eye caught the side of Izuku’s face, and the next thing she knew, she was approaching him.
She had seen Izuku fight before. And since yesterday, she knew he could move without breaking his everything. She wanted to taste how he would fight now. She had tried to fight like him, now she wanted to really understand how it would feel against the real thing.
On one hand, that yearning should’ve worried her. On the other hand, she really didn’t care.
She knew what she wanted, and by God, she was going to get it.
“Wanna spar?”
The words left her lips easier than they should’ve, and she shivered as Izuku took stock of her.
It wasn’t the way anyone else looked at her, when Izuku looked at her she could feel him analyzing her with those big intelligent eyes he had. Those big expressive eyes of his got scary when he did that, the intelligence turned sharp and dangerous like a tempered blade.
It had no right to make her feel weak in the knees like it did.
“Of course,” he chirped, smiling at her as he did so.
Ochako was sure that he didn’t realize how he was smiling back at her. It wasn’t his wobbly endearing smile, nor his soft one she thought about idly every now and then. It was a manic, hungry smile that got her heart hammering with excitement for the fight that was about to come.
She returned it with one of her own, and relished the sparkle in Izuku’s eye when he saw it.
He stretched his legs idly as Ochako did the same with her arms, before starting to pat down her body with her closed fist. He should’ve been flustered seeing her body jiggle with each pat, but he was far too busy trying to determine what that action was meant to accomplish.
Ochako seemed to read his mind and shot him a small smile. “It’s to get your adrenaline pumping quickly. According to Gunhead at least.” She thumped her thighs a little harder as she explained. “The impacts get your body to think it’s in a ‘fight’ situation and start getting ready for one. Also gets the blood flowing.”
He nodded with a hum. “I should try that too, then.”
Soon they were both glaring at each other while precisely striking parts of their bodies. Ochako was right, the action got his heart to start really pumping. Then again, it might’ve been the anticipation that was causing that rather than the warm-up.
“Ready?” he asked, unable to hold himself back anymore. Part of him was confused why he was so excited about this. He never thought that he enjoyed fighting.
As he engaged Full Cowl at 5%, he remembered. The feeling he had while fighting Gran Torino, then the same feeling he had against Stain. All his confusion faded out as he could feel his cheeks ache with the wild smile he knew he bore.
Ochako’s smile matched his own as she dropped into a fighting stance of her own. “Come at me, Deku!”
The world blurred as he did exactly that, legs aching slightly at the strain as they pretty much flung him straight at Ochako, his arm pulled back ready for a heavy hay-maker.
Not for a moment did he fear he was going to hurt Ochako.
The only thing he feared was her quirk, as he caught a glimpse of her slide out of the way, one hand already reaching out for his wrist.
Part of her was worried how easily he had fallen into a martial arts trap, and was disappointed how telegraphed his attack was. Sure, he was fast as hell, but she had training under her belt to overcome that gap between them.
But her disappointment was dashed as Izuku managed to use the side of his foot to shoot himself away from her approaching hand, using his hand to flip his entire body and landing back on his feet. Part of her whined that he could even do that, he wasn’t in any position to do that , and honestly, she knew no one but him could do that . No one but him had the utter insanity, nor the quirk to fling their own body like a ragdoll that way.
What really excited her wasn’t the supernatural motions his quirk allowed him to get. No, it was more than that. She loved how those big emerald eyes of his turned scary as they noticed her trained motion. The shift they had from expressive and determined to analytical and harsh made her stomach churn in the most delightful way.
“Good!” she chirped before she even realized she was talking.
Izuku shot her a look that felt somewhere between smug and proud of the both of them, before rushing back to attack.
For a moment, trained instincts took over her reactions, her mind barely keeping up with the motions as she dodged, bobbed, and weaved around his punches, retaliating with some of her own, even getting clipped by some of his attacks in return.
She managed to break the dance of hand-to-hand combat with a kick to Izuku’s side, strong enough to stagger the man and make her own leg ache with the kickback. Izuku huffed and puffed a few paces away as she did the same, both not leaving each others gazes.
"You’re hard,” she grunted, shaking her hands and clenching and unclenching her fists, trying to get the stinging to subside.
Izuku thumped his chest in response with a wild grin. "I suppose."
She grinned back, before putting a leg in front of the other and starting to rush at him herself, Izuku meeting her in the middle as they started exchanging blows again. Her punches and palm-strikes couldn’t dent him, and in turn, he couldn’t get a solid hit on her that would’ve put her down for good.
Analysis and training clashed as they danced an intimate and vicious battle, neither willing to back down and disengage.
On a whim, she attempted to strike his head, try to rattle his senses a bit to get him to slip more, but even with him in the middle of repositioning, he barely managed to duck under her palm and backflipped to get some distance from her once more.
“How’d ya do that?” She couldn’t help herself from asking, she returned to her trained pose with a smirk.
She was honestly lost on how he had really managed it, his footwork was not even close to what it should’ve been to even attempt such a move, but he had done it.
She chalked it up to him being her Deku.
“Experience,” he smirked, then flinched as his nose started bleeding.
Ochako felt a guilty sense of pride for getting that hit in, but that feeling washed off quickly as she watched him. He tilted his head down slightly hiding his eyes under the shadow of his fluffy hair and licked his lips, catching the blood with his tongue.
Her knees felt weak from the feral grin he shot at her, his eyes shining a dangerous green that got her cheeks feeling warm.
She knew that she was attracted to his drive, there was no escaping that.
But she came to realize that she was attracted to that feral look only he could get, his big innocent eyes turning utterly dangerous, that wobbly smile he shared sharpening into something befitting of a predator.
She wanted him to bite her while looking like that.
Woah, where did that come from?
The moment Ochako took a second to shake her head, Izuku moved .
His hands clasped around her wrists pulling them above her head as the momentum of his body slammed against her carried the two of them down onto the padded floor.
They both panted; him from the effort of the sudden rush and her from the impact knocking the air out of her lungs. He didn’t even notice that he was straddling her chest as he pushed her arms higher above her body to fully pin her onto the ground.
She wasn’t scared as she looked up to him, instead, she had an expression of want and bloodlust mixed into one.
“What now?” he panted, not releasing his grip on Full Cowl even for an instant.
“I teach you-” she cooed, leaning up to his face, making him feel her breath against his lips. And in the moment he took to drink in the sensations and savour the moment, Izuku learned just how flexible Ochako had gotten as her shins crashed onto his shoulders, before they hooked under his chin and jerked him back, detaching him from his position on her chest and flinging him onto the less-than-soft mat.
Before he could even get his bearings after the impact, she was already on him. Her legs tightened around his neck and her arms locked one of his against her chest in a joint-lock that he couldn’t push out of, even with all the power he had access to inside One for All.
“-that your form is bad.”
He laughed, even as her grapple put pressure on his elbow. He relished the little tidbit she taught him in the battle. “Yours is much better.”
“Do you relent?” she asked, sounding disappointed that the ‘spar’ was about to end.
He couldn’t have that now, not when he could still force his body to move.
He used his right leg in an awkward position to roll his body to the side, raising Ochako into the air with little effort, a huff escaping his lips.
“Nope,” he grunted, even as his air supply was rapidly diminishing.
Ochako looked giddy with the prospect before he used his left arm and leg to slam them back down, Ochako hissing from the impact and her grip loosening just enough for him to wrench his arm out from hers, roughly grabbing her thigh and ripping it off from his neck, pushing the girl aside. He scrambled to his feet, gasping needily at the air
“You know it’s unfair how much power you can put out, right?” she giggled, expression looking just as determined and scary as the one she bore before the sports festival, even as she let out the melodic notes.
“I wouldn’t disrespect you by giving anything less than my best,” he quipped back, feeling more self-assured while talking to her than he ever had before.
“Aw, just for lil’ ol’ me?” She grinned back at him devilishly. “And here I thought chivalry was dead.”
Izuku took a second too long to smile at her giddy comment, and she used that exact moment to strike.
This time, her hands splayed open with the intent to get him with her quirk. Part of her was still whining at how that could end the spar, but another knew he wouldn’t just let it end there.
For a moment her fears won out as she managed to clip Izuku’s chest with her hand before he could fully dodge to the side.
But then, he showed her just how wrong she was about the exercise ending the moment her quirk activated.
Most people would’ve panicked, or at least staggered as their weight suddenly disappeared. Even Gunhead himself wasn’t immune to the jarring effect of sudden weight loss.
Izuku was .
As fast as his weight left him, he managed to kick the ground on his side, using his lack of inertia to shoot back on top of her, gripping onto her training gear with his rough hands. He scrambled around her in a flurry of limbs that got her staggered.
She got lost in the flurry of motions, the rapid twisting and turning around her body getting her head to spin and make her drop her guard just enough for Izuku to get the upper hand again. For an instant she felt His calloused hands wrap around her wrists and force them together.
She noticed that the action caused her quirk to disengage a second too late. “You cleve-”
Her back met the padded floor in a shoulder-toss that would’ve made Gunhead proud, knocking the air out of her once again.
She laughed as Izuku stared her down, ready for her retaliation. “Wow…”
He smiled back. “Good to see my quirk hypothesis was right ab…”
She smirked as she kicked his legs from under him in a fluid motion, straddling his legs before he could get a breath in and holding him down by his arms, locking him at the joints with practiced ease.
“And that- is how you pin someone,” she panted, looking down at her best friend.
He shook his head with a smile, attempting to move his body but failing to do so. Even with all of his power, his joints could only move so much weight from a dead-stop. “You were right. My pin was really bad.”
She took stock of his form under her, seeing the slight scrapes and slightly rawer skin peeking from under his collar, and felt the same stinging on her own body.
Then she noticed that she could feel his breath on her face, and sensed his body pushing against her with every breath they both took.
For a moment, the adrenaline pumping through her body stilled, and her hypothalamus flicked from fight to something more-
Intimate.
Ochako didn’t realize when they joined at the lips, but she felt him nibble on her lip and roll the two of them to the side, pinning her under his body as they stole each other’s breaths in a passionate -and even hungry- kiss.
He pulled back slowly, coming to his senses with a heavy blush. “I- uh- did-”
She didn’t let him finish, hooking her arms around his neck and into another kiss as her legs wrapped around his waist.
Then paused and pulled back as her own brain came to its senses. “...Wait- do you not want thi-”
Izuku made a flustered sound, but didn’t pull back from her. “N-no I… its nic-”
“GET A ROOM YOU, FUCKING FREAKS! ” Bakugou barked from the corner.
And in that instant, Izuku and Ochako froze and realized that they weren’t alone, in fact, most of the class had paused their own sparring and were watching them grapple on the floor now.
There was a mutual meep that left both of their mouths at the same time, their heavy heartbeats rapidly shoving all the blood into their cheeks as fast as it could.
Instinctively, they pulled each other closer in embarrassment rather than away.
“...” Aizawa ran a hand down his face. “Use protection, one problem child is more than enough.”
Mina squealed happily. “I knew you two would mesh so well together!”
Ochako grumbled as she hid her face in Izuku’s shoulder.
Then she smiled softly, feeling his muscles against her.
“...Wanna spar again?”
