Chapter Text
Strawberry was never a really outstanding person. She was usually forgotten by everyone but her friends. This meant she was used to being bumped into, forgotten during role call, and picked last for anything in gym. Fortunately, she had a good group of friends. Gingerbrave who would always stand up for her whenever some idiot bumped into her and blamed her for it. Skater/Skateboard? Idk which one it is. But anyways he introduced Strawberry to the music she would eventually learn to love. Zombie who was uh, there I guess. And Gingerbright, Strawberries bestest friend. She was usually the one to yell at the teacher that they forgot to count Strawberry as present, she walked home with her every day, she was there when Strawberry was most sad, and she was always smiling encouraging Strawberry to do the same. They were as close as two friends could be (yea totally friends) and Strawberry was grateful for that. And even in high school this group of friends stayed together. Strawberry was more nervous than usual today since it was the first day. She had gotten no sleep the night before having thoughts of making fun of herself or being forgotten by her friends. Gingerbright tried her best to comfort her but she simply melted on the floor. “Woah Strawby you ok?” Skate asked with concern. Strawberry simply gave a high pitched whine in response. “Ok then.” he walked through the doors only to be yelled at by the ginger sibs.
“Skate! Not cool.” Gingerbrave said sounding like Chris McLean from total drama island.
“What, she’s always like this.” he shrugged looking down at the puddle that was Strawberry. She whined in response.
“That’s no reason to be a meanie!” Gingerbright said being incapable of cursing.
“Fuck off.” He flipped Gingerbright off and put down his board.
“Skate, what’s wrong with you today? Are you on your period or something?” Gingerbrave asked sounding genuinely concerned.
“SHUT UP!” skate skated off not wanting to talk about whatever problem he was having.
“Yea, definitely on his period.” Gingerbrave concluded letting out some air in a sigh. Skate was always super angry when on his period, he was probably skating off to the skate park to burn off some energy doing ollies or something. Gingerbright turned to the puddle of strawberry and scooped it up with the jar she kept just for situations like this. Strawberry whined being put into the jar but didn’t resist. “You don’t need to worry Strawby! I’m in most of your classes!” proudly stated with a smile on her face. Strawberry whined,
“Most, not all, what am I supposed to do alone?” Gingerbright could see strawberry solidifying so she poured her back out, didn’t want a repeat of last time.
“I’m sure you can handle yourself! I’m sure someone will want to make friends with you!” She gave a thumbs up to the now solidified strawberry who looked away in response and whined. Gingerbright gingerly (hehe) put a hand on her shoulder earning a startled yelp from strawberry. “It’s ok. I believe in you!” Strawberry stared back into Gingerbright bright (hehe) eyes sparkling with honesty. She nodded and walked in with her. Gingerbrave had already gone ahead knowing he couldn’t comfort strawberry like his sister could. Inside the school looked pretty poggers. It was schooly and big and fancy and yea. Strawberry looked in awe at it. Just think of crystal high or something idk. “Come on Strawby! We gotta get to homeroom.” Ah great, homeroom. One of the first classes of the day and Strawberry doesn’t have Gingerbright in there. “Come on Strawby, it'll be ok! Its only homeroom! If you don’t get called on remember to yell ok!” before Strawberry could respond Gingerbright had run off to her own homeroom. Strawberry wanted to liquefy herself again but she knew it would just get her in trouble so she just went off to class.
