Chapter Text
I must be desperate. To ask the other Shitennou for help is probably pointless at this stage. None of them care about what I do anyway. Plus, they know how much trouble I’m in with Beryl and I’m sure they’re dying for their turn in the spotlight. That’s the Dark Kingdom for you, filled with nothing but backstabbing and betrayal.
I’ve learned not to trust my fellow Shitennou but I have to admit that I need their help in order to get me out of the mess I’m in. I want Beryl to trust me again, more than anything and I’m desperate for another chance to prove myself. It’s bad enough I used Tetis without permission and then got her killed. If I can defeat the Sailor guardians once and for all, maybe I will be back in her favour.
I decide to start at Nephrite’s quarters first. He’s more likely to talk to me than the other two and is easier to deal with. Of course this depends on what mood he’s in as well. He might not want to talk to me at all. This is probably a bad idea.
“Nephrite.” I knock loudly at his door. “Open up. I need to talk to you.”
At first I think he’s not going to open the door. In fact, it takes him so long to answer, I almost turn around and leave thinking he’s not home.
Finally, he opens the large grey door, and just looks at me with an amused expression on his face. “Oh? Is that right? What do you need to talk me about, so badly?”
“I’m in a lot of trouble with Beryl. I need help coming up with a plan to defeat Sailor Moon and her allies once and for all.”
Nephrite laughs. “Yes, you are in a lot of trouble my dear friend. That is the truth. Come in. I can’t promise I’ll be helpful though.” He turns and walks back into his quarters. I’m assuming he wants me to follow him since he didn’t slam the door in my face so that’s a plus.
I walk into his small living quarters. They’re similar to mine in layout and size. Rank only means something when you’re Kunzite, I guess. I enter a small hallway where his boots are tossed carelessly. I take mine off and line them up neatly, next to his.
The hallway opens up to a small, dark living room lit with a few lamps. There’s a small television and a plush red leather sofa. It looks cozy and comfortable in here. On the coffee table is a glass halfway full with a yellow liquid. Oh great. He’s been drinking. Yup, this definitely was a bad idea.
“Do you want something to drink? Beer? Wine? Something stronger?” Nephrite offers from the kitchen.
“Beer is fine, thanks.” I respond. Drinking is probably going to be a mistake but if it means he’ll talk to me, I guess I have to. I’ll do whatever it takes. I have to keep my drinking in moderation though. I need a level head if I am ever going to come up with a good plan.
He returns from the kitchen holding two cans of beer. He gestures for me to have a seat on the sofa. I sit down and he hands me a beer and then sits down beside me.
I crack it open and sip it absentmindedly, trying to gather my thoughts.
“So, what have you thought of so far?” he asks, somewhat amused by this whole visit.
“Nothing. Everytime I come up with something, I decide it’s a dumb idea and not going to work. I really don’t know what to do. It’s not my fault Sailor Moon and her stupid friends show up and ruin everything. Plus, I also have to deal with Tuxedo Mask.”
Nephrite just listens while I rant with a grin on his face. He looks way too amused by this whole situation.
“I could probably lure Sailor Moon and her friends out somewhere. They’re idiots and would probably fall for anything. I don’t know if Tuxedo Mask is as dumb as they are though.”
Nephrite shrugs. “I’ve never met the guy, but why not lure Sailor Moon and the others out. He’s bound to follow, and then deal with them separately?”
I think on this. “But how?”
Nephrite shrugs and sips his beer. “Who cares? You’ll think of something in the moment I’m sure. Now let’s talk about something far more interesting. Were you upset about losing Tetis?”
I sigh. I don’t know why I bothered coming here asking for help. I sip my beer, providing myself with some liquid courage so I can come up with a decent answer. I don’t really know what to say.
“What do you mean was I upset? I am upset with myself for not asking Beryl’s permission, that’s all.” I take another sip trying to mask my tone of voice. I’m sure I sound a bit flustered.
“Sure. I believe you. So you don’t miss her adoration for you? She was quite attractive for a youma. She definitely would have fucked you had you let her.”
I blush slightly which delights Nephrite.
“Don’t worry, after you succeed in your mission tomorrow, we will celebrate. Let’s go hit up a few bars and pick up some women for the two of us.”
“Lucky me. Are we bringing the other two?”
“Zoisite and Kunzite? Hahaha. Good one! I’m sure Kunzite is too high and mighty for such things, and as funny as it would be to see Zoisite try and pick up a woman, he’s only got eyes for Kunzite.” Nephrite says with unmasked disgust.
“You don’t approve of their relationship, do you?” I ask curiously.
“Well the gender thing doesn’t bother me. I really don’t care about that stuff. People can date whoever the hell they want. It’s the fact that Zoisite is so obviously using Kunzite to rank climb.”
“I really don’t think that’s true, Nephrite. Anyway, can we please get back on the topic of me probably dying tomorrow if I don’t come up with a decent plan?”
“Why? That was getting boring. I’m sure you’ll think of something. Aren’t you the master of illusions? Create some kind of illusion trap those idiots will fall for and then kill them all.”
“That’s a good idea but they will know it’s a trap for sure.” I say thinking this through carefully.
“Does it matter? They’re going to go for it, especially if you threaten to harm innocent people. They will definitely fall for it then.” Nephrite finishes his beer and then starts back onto his glass of yellow liquid. He then asks “Did you come here first, or did you already ask for help from the other two?”
“I decided to ask you first. I’m not sure I can face their judgement if I ask them for help.” I sigh.
“Honestly, who really cares what they think? Kunzite is too busy fucking his little proteges brains out to care about anything else. Even if he wasn’t, he probably wouldn’t care. Zoisite hasn’t exactly been successful in his mission to find the ginzuishou so he’s hardly one to comment on your lack of progress.”
I finish off the rest of my beer. He’s right. I still feel a bit unsettled about my current situation. I know my life is on the line.
“Now, back to more interesting topics. Did you love Tetis?”
I roll my eyes. Yup, this wasn’t a good idea.
