Work Text:
Langa and Reki had decided to go on a trip to a resort near the beach, along with Shadow, Cherry, Joe, and Miya. When they invited them out, nothing was stopping them, so they all agreed to come along. Shadow sat in the car's front seat, the backseat being cramped with Langa, Reki, and Joe all sitting in a row. Cherry sat in the passenger seat, and Miya was sitting in the trunk.
"Isn't it weird that Miya's in the trunk? I mean, I get that there's no room, but isn't it uncomfortable?" Reki spoke, and Miya sent a slap to the back of his head.
"I can hear you, dumbass. The trunk isn't completely shut off from the car," Miya spoke, going back to playing his games.
"Well, that explains why he wasn't bothered by sitting in the trunk," Langa said, smiling.
"Do you guys wanna listen to some tunes?" Reki asked, and Langa nodded, wondering what type of music he listened to. Surprisingly, with all their time together, they had never really played their music around each other.
Reki connected the Bluetooth to Shadow's car, turning it up to full volume.
Reki smiled, as his favorite songs played. Langa smiled at Reki who was singing while putting his arms around Langa's shoulders and hugging him.
"I know almost all of these songs, Reki!" Langa shouted through the loud music and Reki's face lit up with joy.
"You do?!" Reki shouted, his voice cracking adorably.
"A lot of these were songs I grew up with!" Langa shouted, laughing a little.
Reki's face became ecstatic, and he hugged Langa even harder. Langa was laughing until he was put into an accidental headlock.
"Reki-" Langa struggled, hitting his arm, coughing.
"Oh shit," Reki removed his arm, saying sorry while laughing awkwardly. Langa laughed, hitting Reki lightly on the shoulder. They both went back to singing, and Shadow jammed along to these songs in a language he didn't understand. Joe and Cherry looked at the two in the backseat, hugging and singing as loud as they possibly could.
Joe shouted, "You guys are gonna break your voices!"
"Oh come on, live a little!" Reki shouted back, pulling him into the hug as well. Joe spared a look at Cherry, and Cherry shook his head, his eyes cold as always. Joe made a disappointed expression, giggling and singing with the kids.
Everybody Talks began to play, and Miya looked up, screaming, "Hell yeah! I know this one!"
Reki seemed to nearly faint, happy to see how many people knew his music taste. They all sang, having the time of their lives. They were only half an hour into the drive, and already having so much fun.
They arrived at the resort, and Reki sadly turned off his music. He slumped, "Pain."
They walked out of the car and stretched. It had been a matter of three or four hours, and Reki's back was in pain. His voice was scratchy from scream-singing the entire way there.
Joe snorted, "What did I tell ya?"
"Oh, shush, I was having fun," Reki crossed his arms, soon looking at the resort they had rented out for the week. He grabbed Langa's hand, and Langa stumbled a little as he was pulled to the resort.
"Your mom is amazing, getting us the money for this resort," Reki smiled taking off his shoes at the entrance and going inside. Once he walked around, he realized just how big it was.
"We've always had vacation funds saved for when we wanted to have some fun, but we haven't used it, so she figured we could use it," Langa smiled, and Reki walked up to hug him.
"You're the freaking best," Reki spoke, and Langa smiled, "Now come on, let's go see the rooms!"
Langa was pulled by his arm again, but he didn't mind. Reki was laughing while seeing the giant place, "Man, you could've invited more people if it was this huge!"
"Ah, my mom said she might come here at some point this week. She wants to meet you guys, especially you, Reki," Langa looked at Reki, scratching the back of his head.
"Why especially me?" Reki asked, cocking his head in confusion.
"She said that she wants to meet the person that made me happy again," Langa smiled, and Reki blushed, looking at the beautiful boy's face.
"S-She said that? Man, what have you been telling her about me?" Reki flushed as he looked away, scratching his head as well.
"You like that person, right?"
"Eh?! Well... yeah."
Langa walked behind Reki and pushed him back to the kitchen, "Oh, nothing much."
Joe and Cherry sat at the kitchen table, Joe holding a beer and Cherry sipping some green tea. Shadow had gone out to skate for a while, and Miya was sat on the couch, playing games still.
"My alcohol's in the fridge, don't get any ideas," Joe spoke, staring Langa and Reki in the eyes. Reki looked at Langa with one eye, trying to hold his giggle. Joe's face sank a bit in sternness, "I saw that. If I catch you drinking or drunk, I'm taking away your skateboards for three days."
They stood up straight, "Yes sir!"
Joe sighed, smiling at them, "Alright. Now loosen up! Go do whatever you want, I'm gonna talk to Kaoru over here."
"Don't call me that in front of the kids," Cherry made an angered face at Joe, and he laughed nervously. Reki and Langa left quickly, realizing that they probably needed to talk about something important, also just not wanting to face an angry Cherry.
Once they had left, Joe looked at Cherry, "What are we gonna do about that cliffside? It's an area that's been locked off for years, but I'm convinced that one of them is gonna try to pull off an insane trick and hurt themselves."
Cherry got serious, putting down his tea, "We just have to keep it a secret from them. Also, keep a watchful eye on Reki. He's got a knack for trying out dangerous tricks."
"I wouldn't say Langa's off the hook either. Sometimes he does tricks that are near to impossible," Joe spoke, and Cherry nodded in agreement.
"And if they end up getting injured anyway?" Joe asked, preparing for the worst.
"We take them to the nearest hospital and get them rehab. Although," Cherry stared at his tea, running his finger around the rim of the cup, "I don't know if they'd even survive the fall."
"No. We're not talking about that. Nobody's dying this week," Joe shook his head, grabbing his beer bottle and chugging down a couple of gulps.
"Kojiro, we've gotta be serious. Look, imagine if Langa's mother visits only for us to tell her that her son di-"
"It's not gonna happen!" Joe yelled, slamming his bottle back on the table.
Cherry frowned, taking a sip of his tea. He was used to things like this, where Joe refused to believe someone would be injured. It happened back when Cherry had a beef against Adam. And, sure enough, he got hurt.
"Listen, I'm not saying it's going to happen. I'm just saying that it could," Cherry spoke, and Joe sighed, putting his fingers between his eyes.
"I know, I just... Those two have grown on me, and I don't want them to get hurt," He said, and Cherry rolled around the small amount of tea left in his cup.
"You're treating them like kids. They know not to try super dangerous tricks if nobody has survived them," Cherry spoke, standing up and putting the teacup in the sink. He walked past Joe, slipping a hand across his back, "I'm going to charge Carla. I'm here if you want to talk."
"Thanks, Kaoru," Joe spoke, smiling at him. Cherry sighed, smiling a bit himself.

Reki woke up in the same bed as Langa, his head on the boy's stomach and his legs hanging over the edge of the bed. There were only four rooms, and Miya refused to share a room. Shadow wanted a room to himself so that he could talk with his girlfriend from the flower shop.
Cherry and Joe were fine with sleeping in the same room, they had done it before. And, of course, Reki and Langa had agreed to share a room. So, things worked out in the end. Reki put his face on his hands, his elbows digging into the pillow as he stared at the boy with long, luscious blue hair.
Langa shifted in his sleep, his arms above his head, he mumbled in his sleep, drool hanging from the side of his mouth.
"Cute."
Reki smiled. It hadn't hit him what he had thought just yet, but when he realized it, he blushed. He slapped his own face lightly, "Come on, he doesn't have a crush on me."
Langa shifted around again, this time, his arms wrapped around Reki's waist, scooting closer to him. Reki froze, looking at the sleeping boy. His face slowly turned to a bright red color, and he tried to slip out of his grip.
The door opened, "Wake up sleepyheads! Today we're going- Oh? What do we have here?"
Joe had walked in the room, meaning to wake them up, but immediately looking at the situation. He stared at Reki's flushed face and noticed the hands around his waist. He and the redhead exchanged glances for a moment longer before he realized the panicked expression on his face. He smirked, putting his hands on his hips.
"You like Langa, don't you?" Joe asked, and Reki jumped.
"Dude, don't say it out loud!" Reki yelled, but then covered his mouth. He hadn't denied it. He slapped his forehead, "Shit."
"You know, I suspected that you did. You always blush whenever he compliments you," Joe teased and Reki held up a fist, attempting to threaten him.
Joe laughed, "Anyways, wake him up, his mom just called the house and let us know that she's almost here."
"Okay," Reki replied, and right before Joe walked out of the room, he spoke, "A-And, keep quiet about what just happened. I don't want anyone finding out."
Joe smirked, "Can't promise~"
"Oh, you son of a-"
Reki walked with a very sleepy Langa down the stairs. He could barely stand, his legs still wanting to give out so that he could sleep. It didn't help that he had skated almost the entire day yesterday, burning out his legs. Reki held his hand as they walked down the stairs, trying to help the boy not fall asleep. Once they reached the table, Langa sat down with Reki.
"My legs hurt," Langa spoke in a fatigued voice, still being only partially awake.
"Duh, you did too much yesterday. Don't do that again, you'll be too out of shape," Reki spoke and watched as Langa nodded while yawning. He smiled at the boy with groggy, half-opened eyes, "Don't fall asleep, Langa."
Langa opened his eyes, slapping his face to wake himself up, "I'm awake, I'm awake."
Cherry walked downstairs as well, having just gotten dressed and brushed his hair. His glasses were sort of crooked, and he was slightly annoyed.
"I respect the woman, but why does she have to get here so early in the morning?" Cherry asked, and Langa looked over at him.
"Well, she thought it would take longer. She texted me and said sorry about waking the entire place," Langa spoke, and Cherry nodded.
Joe came downstairs, "If Mr. Precious over here doesn't get his beauty sleep, he gets grumpy."
"I do not," Cherry yelled.
"There it is," Joe laughed, holding his stomach.
"Oh, you're gonna regret saying that shit," Cherry spoke, walking over to the kitchen and grabbing a knife, holding it up.
Joe screamed, "Nevermind! Nevermind! Forget I said anything. You're not grumpy, you're not."
"Good," Cherry said, throwing a towel at the man, "Now go put a shirt on! She's Langa's mother!"
"Ugh, fine," Joe spoke, walking back upstairs dejectedly.
When Langa's mother arrived, Langa had already fallen asleep on Reki's shoulder. Reki let him be, knowing by now that Langa usually slept until nine in the morning. It was only seven, so he left the boy to his slumber. His mother walked inside, apologizing for the trouble, and for waking them up. She looked over at her son, smiling while seeing him asleep so peacefully.
"My gosh. I don't think he's slept so calmly since he was a child," She giggled, walking over and sitting down, "So, you're the one he talks about all the time?"
Reki blushed at the sudden remark, "I-I guess so! My name is Reki Kyan, nice to meet you, Mrs. Hasegawa," Reki smiled, holding Langa on his back as he bowed. Langa moved in his sleep, laying in Reki's lap and holding his leg. Reki smiled, putting his hand on the boy's waist, and looking back at his mother.
"He really has taken a liking to you. I don't think I've seen him so close with someone before," She spoke, looking at her son and then at the boy he loved so dearly.
"He told me that you said you wanted to 'meet the person that made him happy again.' Did you really mean me?" Reki asked, pointing at himself.
"I did. And I already see why you make him happy. He even came home one day, crying because he was so happy. I asked him what was wrong because I was worried, but then he just told me that he was super happy," She spoke, laughing at the memory. She had been extremely concerned at the time, but her worries disappeared when she saw the pure happiness on her son's face.
"How long ago was that?" Reki asked, and Langa's mother thought for a second.
"It must've been a couple of weeks ago. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, nothing. I was just wondering."
They talked for a little while longer, laughing happily. Then, Langa shifted around in Reki's lap, waking up. His eyes fluttered open, and he saw his mother, smiling.
Reki helped him sit up, and Langa waved, "Hi, mom."
He spoke in a drowsy voice, rubbing his eyes.
"Hi, sweetheart. Reki and I have just been talking for a little while," She said, looking at her son with a smile.
"Morning, Reki," Langa spoke, and Reki smiled, ruffling his hair a little bit.
"You were really tired yesterday. You practically passed out when you walked into the bedroom," Reki laughed, looking at Langa who was stretching out his face to make him wake up.
"What did you guys do yesterday?" Langa's mother asked, and Reki giggled.
"This guy over here skated so much yesterday that his legs gave out. Luckily, I caught him before he fell. Man, sometimes he refuses to stop, and it reminds me of how I used to be when I started out," Reki smiled, looking at Langa.
"You can't blame me though, you're the one who allowed me to keep going," Langa said, scootching closer to him as he crossed his arms.
"I- I did not!" Reki spoke, and Langa let out a little "heh," poking his face.
"Weren't you the one who landed a trick and asked me to try it out too?" Langa spoke, and Reki looked over at him with a smile he was trying to hold back.
"N-No," He said, almost laughing, so he covered his mouth.
"You sure? You sure you're not the one who fell flat on your face and nearly broke your nose?" Langa asked, and Reki broke out laughing, the bandage on his nose a remnant of the events the night before.
"It was-" Reki snorted, "It was one time!"
"But it still happened~" Langa teased, and Reki held his stomach, almost falling to the floor in laughter.
Langa's mother looked at the two of them, smiling, "He really does love this boy, doesn't he?"
"I brought ingredients to make tons of food, enough to last the entire rest of the week. I'll be making it in the kitchen, so you boys don't have to worry about helping out," She spoke, and the boys smiled at her, both replying with an "Okay!"
"Oh, Langa, could you fetch me some parsley from the convenience store a couple of blocks down? I forgot mine," Langa's mother spoke, and Langa nodded, walking outside with the money she had given him.
Reki was about to follow him when Langa's mother called him over, "Hey, Reki."
Reki turned around, "Yes, Mrs. Hasegawa?"
"Come here for a sec," She spoke, and Reki walked over. She smiled, "I've been meaning to talk to you."
"Really? About what?" Reki cocked his head with his hands intertwined behind his back.
"Langa. How do you feel about him?" She smiled, beginning to cook some noodles in a stir-fry style.
Reki smiled while getting out some ingredients she would need, "Langa? God, where do I start? He's skilled, talented, amazing, and he's always nice to me. You know, when I nearly quit skating, you know what he told me?"
Langa's mother shook her head, allowing him to continue. Reki smiled at the memory, "He said, 'Reki, I can't skate if you aren't there with me.' That changed everything for me. I got back into skating, and I decided I would never skate without him. He's changed me so much. I'd trust him with my life, really."
"Sounds like you like him," Langa's mother smiled while flipping the noodles in the pan.
"Of course, I do," Reki laughed, not realizing the intense blush on his face, "He's the center of my world."
Langa's mother smiled, "Oh, my son. You're gonna find out soon that this boy loves you as well."
Reki finally got back in reality and realized what he had just said, "Oh- Um... Heh..."
He flushed, and Langa's mother laughed, "You've got a crush on him, huh?"
"I never thought I'd reveal it to you before him," Reki awkwardly smiled, scratching the back of his head.
"It's alright. Are you afraid of telling him?" She asked, and Reki sighed frustratedly, nodding dishearted, "Well, If you did tell him, I don't think he'd stop being friends with you. You're the only one that can make him smile these days."
Reki thought of the boy's smile, blushing again, "I'm aiming to tell him soon. No matter what, I'm going to do it this week!"
Reki shouted in a determined voice, and Langa's mother smiled, "You go for it! I hope things work out."
"I knew things would work out," She thought, going back to cooking.
***
Langa's mother rang a bell, and Reki and Langa came downstairs. Joe and Cherry came from the bedroom downstairs, Shadow had already been helping her, and Miya had been sitting on the couch, his senses satisfied by the smell of good food. They all sat down at the table as Langa's mother slowly placed all of the food on the table. Langa walked over to her and offered a towel. She had been sweating from the heat of the oven, working hard to cook the entire time and use the best of her cooking ability.
"You worked hard, mom," Langa smiled, and she patted his shoulder.
"Go on and sit down, I can handle this," She smiled, and Langa went to sit down next to Reki.
She finally put all of the dishes on the table, and everyone thanked her for the food. She motioned for them to go ahead and eat. They all began to eat, and she laid back on her chair, wiping her sweat.
"So, I didn't get to meet all of you. You two are?" She asked Joe and Cherry, and they both put down their utensils, pausing.
"My name's Kojiro Nanjo, I also go by Joe," He spoke, moving his hand over to Cherry. Cherry took his hand and threw it back onto his lap, smiling at Langa's mother.
"My name is Kaoru Sakurayashiki, I also go by Cherry," He stated, sparing a stare of death at Joe. Langa's mother took notice of this, deciding not to comment and just chuckle to herself.
"Nice to meet you two! And the two of you are?" She asked the other two, and they both smiled.
"My name is Miya Chinen, nice to meet you, Mrs. Hasegawa," He spoke, and she nodded.
"My name is Hiromi Higa, I also go by Shadow," He spoke, seeming very nice out of his makeup and getup.
"It is truly nice to meet you all," She took a deep breath, trying to maintain her composure while speaking, "Thank you for making my son happy again."
They all looked at her with pity in their eyes, watching as she wiped the tears at the edges of her eyes. Langa smiled at her, giving his mom a reassuring nod. And soon, they all dug in.
***
Langa flopped on the bed, right after saying goodbye to his mother. Reki had already turned in for the night, and he laid asleep in bed. He must've passed out right away because he was still fully clothed. All that socializing had taken a lot of him, he was sleeping so deeply. Langa walked over and smiled, taking off the boy's shoes, and his jacket. He was left in his hoodie as Langa took off the boy's headband. He ran his fingers through the boy's hair, pushing it back behind his ear.
Langa laid down next to Reki, combing through his hair, and caressing his face. He smiled.
"You should really show your forehead more," Langa chuckled once, "Reki."
Reki furrowed his eyebrows, his eyes slowly opening. Langa smiled, his fingers touching Reki's soft skin gently.
"Did my mom scare you today?" Langa spoke, and Reki shook his head.
"She helped me sort some of my thoughts out," Reki spoke, looking at Langa with a soft smile while remembering the conversation.
"That's good," Langa spoke, moving his hand down his face. He put his thumb over the boy's cheek, caressing the smooth skin while moving just a bit closer to him. Reki stared at Langa as he did so, noticing the light blush on his cheeks.
"Reki," Langa grabbed his attention, and Reki made a small, "Hm?"
Langa pulled his arms under and over Reki's body, pulling them both up. Langa put his hand back on Reki's face, pushing his hair back again, running his thumb under Reki's eye. Reki relaxed into the touch, leaning his head on the hand holding his face. Langa leaned in closer, his forehead touching Reki's. Reki blushed, looking at the boy's peaceful expression. Langa looked up at him, looking at his eyes, almost, for confirmation.
Reki returned a look that Langa knew to be his answer. His eyes looked at Reki's lips, and Reki smiled before closing his eyes. As his face was held by Langa's hand, he felt their lips attach. He melted into the touch, allowing Langa to hold his face and kiss him gently. Reki moved closer, his face being held and Langa's hand wrapping around his waist.
Their lips finally separated, and they both stared at each other sweetly. Langa began to giggle, as well as Reki.
"Man, we're dumb. Not to mention blind," Reki laughed, realizing that the entire time he had worried about Langa not liking him back, the boy had liked him just as much.
"I guess we are. How long has it been for you?" Langa asked, and Reki smiled while blushing.
"It's been a while. A couple of months, maybe?" Reki felt another hand cup the other side of his face.
"Well, then I'm sure you've waited long enough for me to kiss you," Langa leaned into another kiss, and Reki tried not to smile through it.
"I really have waited long enough. Long enough to kiss you, hold you, and adore you."

Joe and Cherry smiled at the screen that Carla had cast from. Carla had been filming the entire thing, allowing Joe and Cherry to watch it in their room without being caught.
"I didn't know Langa could be that head-on," Joe laughed, and Cherry smacked him in the back of the head.
"Where was that when we were younger?" He spoke, teasing the boy for not having enough confidence back then.
"I was a teenager! I couldn't have-" Joe paused, realizing the fatal mistake he had just made. His face sunk blankly, "Langa's a teenager too. Right."
Cherry tried so hard not to laugh, but he ended up chuckling a bit on the side, "You're a dumbass, you dopey gorilla."
"But, I'm your gorilla," Joe spoke, getting up against Cherry's neck.
Cherry gave him a death stare, flicking him off with his finger, "Not while the kids are present."
"Oh, come on!"
