Chapter Text
A nice, cool breeze swept over the beach town of Undella, letting sand drift off towards the coastline. Various trainers looking to catch the sun were here, with their water and ice pokemon out to help them cool. It wasn’t quite as busy as usual, seeing as most of the Unova population had either gone abroad for their summer fix or had gone to the neighbouring city, Humilau City. But, for those that chose to stay in the smaller town either for the villas or the peace and quiet, it was quite the spot for a beach visit.
Two trainers emerged from the route gate connecting Undella Town to Route 13, both carrying a lot of luggage. Seemed they were here to book a villa. The trainers were Hilda, former Unova League Champion and her girlfriend, Rosa, current Unova League Champion. Hilda was carrying a large rucksack that practically towered over her, full of luggage from both trainers; she looked pained and exhausted and ready to give up and fall over. Rosa was just carrying a pink suitcase with some stickers plastered over it. They were in their usual clothes, Hilda a white tank top, a black waistcoat and a pair of ripped denim shorts and Rosa a long sleeved white & baby blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a short yellow skirt and long black leggings. Not the best outfits for peak summer season, but then again Pokémon trainers never had the best dress sense.
“Ohmyarceus! We’re finally here! That walk took foreeeever! Can you feel it Hilda? The breeze of the open air? The smell of the fresh saltwater sea?” Rosa excitedly jabbered. She was obviously very excited, seemingly unaware of her partner’s exhaustion. Rosa wasn’t the best at reading people, neither the atmosphere or their aura.
“The only thing I can feel is my shoulders and my legs about to give in… did you seriously have to bring literally everything from your room?!” Hilda snapped back. She wasn’t the best at managing her emotions…
“What? I like my room to be comfy! Besides, you’re the one that insisted on bringing that weird game console with white breadsticks for controllers with you. If you wanted to ease up your load, you shouldn’t have brought it with you.”
“THAT WAS YOU, YOU HALFWIT! You’re the one who wanted to play Pansear Kart on our beach vacation!” Hilda sighed, taking a moment to compose herself before speaking again. She didn’t wanna start an argument, she’d much rather be calm and collected than a hotheaded mess.
“…Sorry… I’m gonna go grab the keys to our villa and set things up… you should go relax somewhere after all that hard walking. Pretty gals like you need their rest, right?” Hilda chuckled awkwardly. Rosa smiled back and patted her back, accidentally making Hilda go off balance a little.
“Nah! Don’t worry ‘bout it! I’ll go grab the villa keys and set stuff up. You should go rest instead! Ooh, maybe you could try to fit yourself into a pokeball and use the machine in the pokecenter to rest! If they can instantly recover Pokémon like that, I’m sure it works on humans!” Rosa replied, seemingly oblivious to Hilda’s little outburst. She was also seemingly oblivious to how pokeballs even worked, despite being the literal champion of the Unova League. Hilda however had a sharp stab of realisation, followed by panic. She immediately shot up straight, eyes wider than that of an Electrode.
“I FORGOT TO REST MY POKÉMON AT LACUNOSA TOWN!” Hilda panicked, immediately throwing off the rucksack. She quickly got out her team of Pokémon, all contained in various different pokeballs. Almost like lightning, she shot off for the pokecenter, almost tripping on the way. Nothing stops Hilda, especially when her Pokémon are involved. Rosa just sighed, watching her speed off while muttering something about how Hilda’s Pokémon hadn’t even fainted yet. She picked up (or at least attempted to) the rucksack and her suitcase and looked to find the villa the two would be staying in.
