Through the years they have became each other’s confidante and vowed to forever cherish their friendship. However, an incident involving Moon Young led Gang Tae to ask for her hand in marriage in which became a turning point in their relationship as friends.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Prologue

Moon Young has not been able to sleep for three days, while coming up for what she thinks is the best decision for her and the people around her. Well, it is mostly for what is the best for her heart because she cannot afford to be hurt again. This is the last time that she will feel hurt.

This time, she will not listen to her heart.

She took a deep breath when she heard the door opens, Gang Tae’s home.

“Moon Young? Love? I’m home” Gang Tae sweetly called to her. Her heart would have fluttered like before if she did not know that it was all for pretend.

“I’m here in the kitchen, preparing for dinner. You should go upstairs and change, this will be finished when you come down” Moon Young answered while setting up the table.

“Okay, I’ll make it quick” Gang Tae answered while walking to her and kissed her temple before going upstairs.

It took Gang Tae thirty minutes before he came down for dinner. Moon Young already knows that this has always been his way of giving her enough time whenever she cooks dinner for them. She cannot help but remember when she asked him about it before and he answered that he knows how she can be a perfectionist when it comes to food and how she does not want to be rushed up when she is preparing and cooking food.

After enjoying the bountiful dinner that she has prepared for the two of them. Moon Young cannot help but feel nervous about what she has to say to Gang Tae. She knew that doing this will benefit both. No more pretentions mean no more heartaches. They can freely choose to be with the person that they love and not be stuck in a relationship that was rooted not because of love.

Gang Tae must have noticed her unusual actions, so he asked her what is wrong. She looked down and told him in a low voice what she wanted.

“Gang Tae, I want a divorce”.
