Day 3: Embrace your geekiness

Summary:

It's not like Stiles was actively going through Derek's things. That would be bad. He just happened to be at Derek's place. Alone. Looking at some thing. That belong to Derek.

Work Text:

He found it out entirely by accident. So really Stiles thought it shouldn’t be counted against him.

Really, it was all Derek’s fault. Derek had given him a spare key to the loft. For emergencies. And that meant that he really should have expected Stiles to abuse it. Everyone knew that Stiles should not be trusted with any kind of power.

That right there proved that it was all Derek’s own fault.

“I don’t know how I feel about this!” he told Scott. “I have too many feelings about this!”

“Uhh,” Scott said.

“Limited edition boxset, Scott. Do you understand what those words mean?” Stiles was now walking up and down Scott’s bedroom in agitation. “Derek whatever-his-middlename-is Hale owns not one but all Star Wars movies. On DVD. As a limited edition boxset!”

“Dude, I don’t think he has a middle name.”

And if Stiles might have screamed in frustration at this point in the conversation then he thought that that also should not be counted against him.

“Stiles, why don’t you just ask him if he wants to watch those movies with you?” Kira said from where she was sitting on Scott’s bed next to his best friend. She had put her shirt back on at some point. Huh, he hadn’t even noticed her do that.

“I can’t just-”

“Yes! Yes, you can, Stiles,” Scott interrupted enthusiastically. “We believe in you. You can just go and ask him and then you can spend all evening geeking out about those Star Trek movies.”

Scott looked at him with bright eyes, Kira nodded encouragingly and Stiles did not have the heart to explain to either of them the finer differences between Star Wars and Star Trek, like the fucking name for example. Ugh, these two deserved each other. Oh, right, they had been in the middle of something before he had burst in, maybe he really should be going.

So Stiles stormed right back into Derek’s apartment.

“What’s the emergency?”

“I want to watch Star Wars with you?”

“That’s- Stiles, that is not an emergency!”

“Oh, can we still- ?”

Stiles expected Derek to turn him down, to tell him he didn’t want to watch Star Wars, didn’t like Star Wars, didn’t own the movies. He expected Derek to deny it all.

Instead Derek grinned wide and happy and said: “Sure, I have the DVD set.”

And Stiles might have fallen in love a little bit.

Thanks for reading! And brace yourselves: Tomorrow we got some smut coming up ;)
