Work Text:
Wanda and Natasha were on their way back to their cabin after Wanda’s first successful undercover mission. She was giddy with excitement. The energy racing through her so boundless it made her float mid-step every few meters.
“You did good, but the mission isn’t quite over yet.” Wanda could hear the smile in Natasha’s voice even though she was walking behind her.
“What’s there left to do? Shield took the guy into custody, and they found all the Hydra tech he was trying to sell, right?” Wanda twirled around to look at Natasha, just the tips of her toes touching the ground.
“Right,” Natasha inclined her head, “but we still have to make sure our extraction is as discreet as possible.” The smile that curled around her lips betrayed Natasha’s intentions.
“Oh, that’s the reason we’re staying at the cabin another night? No other reasons?” Natasha smiled outright at that question. She caught up to Wanda and put her arms around her shoulders.
“Well, maybe I was hoping we could enjoy a bit of privacy for tonight.” She pecked a kiss on Wanda’s lips. “Just—” another quick kiss, this time to her right cheek “—the two—” left cheek “—of us.” Then another to Wanda’s lips.
Wanda’s cheeks were aching with how wide she was smiling. Her hands had been resting on Natasha’s waist, but now she brought them further around to pull Natasha closer. She kissed her, open-mouthed, silently thanking her for the gift of a night away from the Avengers tower.
Natasha’s hands dropped from Wanda’s face and settled on her hips. First, to keep her grounded, but finally Natasha just helped Wanda wrap her legs around her waist. Wanda had gained some weight in the months since her and Natasha had become a couple. “Happy relationship weight,” Tony had teased, but with her magic lifting most of it Natasha could hold her up easily.
“As much as I’m enjoying this. I think we should get to the cabin before it gets dark.” Natasha whispered against Wanda’s lips. She laughed and jumped down, still light-footed, but most of the nervous adrenaline high had drained out of her. Now it was just the familiar fluttering in her stomach whenever she was around Natasha, and she slipped her hand into Natasha’s.
They made it back in record time. Even though Wanda tried to steal kisses from Natasha the entire time. The sun still hadn’t disappeared completely. The last few rays of light drew them to the little private beach behind the cabin. Wanda carried a huge blanket under her arm. While Natasha gathered some firewood to take down to the firepit in the sand. She’d been talking about having a bonfire night the entire time they’d stayed here, but tonight was the first night they would be sitting by a fire.
Just when it was getting cool enough that goose bumps spread on Wanda’s skin the fire roared to life. Natasha’s capable hands poking at the logs to make sure they’d burn evenly. When she was satisfied, she finally sat down next to Wanda. Her entire side pressed into Wanda’s skin, her fingers drawing intricate patterns on her thick thighs.
Wanda bent her legs to keep them from spreading out so wide. Natasha seemed to notice, but she didn’t push the issue directly. Instead opting for kissing her way up Wanda’s neck. Then biting at the softness that had settled under her chin. Wanda couldn’t help but close her eyes and tilt her head back.
“God, you’re so pretty.” Natasha breathed into her ear. Latching onto that delicate spot just underneath. Warmth burst out from the spot Natasha’s mouth was working over.
“Let’s go swimming.” Wanda was caught off guard by Natasha’s sudden suggestion but let herself be pulled up easily.
“The water will be cold.” She tried to pull Natasha back into a kiss, but she was already busy taking off her clothes.
“No way to know unless we test it, but the sun has been heating it up the entire past week. You said you wanted to go swimming at least once.” Wanda laughed.
“You remember that? I didn’t even bring a bikini.”
“Me neither.” Natasha said as she unclipped her bra and pushed her panties down. She seemed completely unfazed to be standing completely naked outside. Wanda worried at her bottom lip and took a step away from the water.
“No, no. I don’t know.” She crossed her arms over her chest. A heavy weight pulling her down towards the ground.
Natasha came walking up the beach again to where Wanda was standing. Adoration clear on her face and Wanda’s arms fell to her side.
“It’s just me here.” Natasha’s settled her hands on Wanda’s hips. Thumbs rubbing circles into her sides, then her bare skin. “And I think you’re absolutely beautiful.”
Wanda ducked her head, but she let Natasha pull off her shirt. When she looked down her frame seemed even wider next to Natasha’s smaller figure. The waistband of her shorts was digging into her sides slightly and made the fat there even more pronounced.
“When I get to touch you here—” Natasha ghosted her fingers across Wanda’s belly “—it reminds me that life doesn’t just mean hardships and violence. I also get so enjoy this. Something soft and lovely and all mine.”
Natasha let her head fall against Wanda, shoulder’s sagging, but her hands still stroking over the puffy fat on Wanda’s belly. Wanda swallowed around a lump in her throat and nodded her head, barely trusting herself to croak out an “ok.”
Natasha’s hands dipped lower, big circles over her wider hips and finally popped the buttons on her shorts. When cool air finally skimmed over Wanda’s bare skin, they stayed intertwined for a moment longer. Wanda felt Natasha’s muscles tense before she saw Natasha move up for quick kiss. Then she was running towards the dark water, laughing.
“Last one in the lake is a rotten egg!”
