“Mama, why are there so many statues in Lily Valley?”
“Let me tell you a story my dear. The story of a time when magical creatures roamed free.”

Once upon a time, fairies, nymphs, witches and all magical creatures lived together in harmony. They were all united under the leadership of Lady Celeste Galaxy, the mother of all magic. With the power to bring things to life, she created her daughters: Kylie and Zelrot. The three of them ruled over all magical creatures, and for over a hundred years, there was peace.
No one knew why it happened, but one day, the creatures started dropping dead. It started with the Centaurs, then the Spirit Sprites until it reached the Guardian of the magic forest. Lady Marithe Natalia, guardian of the forest and its creatures, grew weary at the sight of all her friends falling to the strange phenomenon, so she decided to seek help from Lady Celeste and her children.
They too did not know how or why the creatures were suddenly dropping dead. That is, until “they” appeared.
The dark ones.
The dark ones were the outcasts that were either disowned or excommunicated from their tribes and clans. Leading them was Fleur, the “failed” creation of Lady Celeste.
Fleur had rallied all the outcasts of the magic realm and gathered them together. Using her magic, she made them stronger, faster. She turned them into weapons of mass destruction.
At first, Lady Celeste and her daughters chose not to mind the dark ones, but all that changed when they killed Lady Zelrot.
Lady Celeste, still mouring the loss of her daughter, gathered the leaders of each magic tribe/clan in the realm. Together they devised a plan to stop the dark ones.
But the dark ones were smarter.
First they went after Pinksé, the guardian of eternal flames, and drowned all of the Fire Wisps.
Next was Daydream, the guardian of butterflies and all flying creatures. They sent Fantasiiaa and Totheph, a pair of shape shifters, to attack their home.
Slowly but surely, they wiped all the leaders out; Cleopatrah the Light Angel impaled by a spike of darkness from Lady Laara; Strawberry and the sky faes shot out of their home by Calixa and Brissa’s dark arrows.
All that was left now was Lady Celeste and Lady Kylie. With what was left of their magic, they created Anna and gifted her with the golden touch. When Anna was ready, they both collapsed and pàssed away.
Using her gift, Anna turned Fleur and the rest of the dark ones into shimmering gold statues. When she was finished, she turned herself into a statue as well, destined to guard and watch over the dark ones as they slumbered for eternity.

“.. And thats why there are so many statues there. Now I've told you enough my dear starlight. Off to bed now.”
“But mama-“
“No excuses.”
“Fine. G'night Mama. Love ya.”
She closed the door to her sons room. Heunite knew she could've done something, but she was too scared to search further.
A million possible outcomes, a million paths, but only one ensured that the world would be safe.
