- I pruned myself, thinking I could find Loki... - Sylvie says breaking the silence, her voice becoming softer - But this storm and all these things must have caught up with him by now... - She says looking away
The woman's words made his chest tighten, Mobius couldn't think of Loki, his Loki, not having survived. After all that's what Lokis did, they went through all sorts of trouble, but they always survived. The agent would rather hold onto that thought than imagine that Loki was....
- Do you really believe that? - Mobius asks, turning to the blonde
- It doesn't matter. - She answers without looking away from the window
- Because I don't believe this has happened. - He says hopeful - He is alive I am sure, because if there is one thing I have learned is that my Loki always finds a way to survive. - Mobius says smiling, not realizing the words that came out of his mouth.
Before the agent could continue explaining his theories, Sylvie suddenly starts laughing, causing his thoughts to be lost.
- Why are you laughing? - He asks confused, what would be so funny for her to just start laughing at his face.
- I should have known. - Sylvie speaks giggling, now all the pieces were fitting together in her mind - You must be the Prince.
- I'm sorry, how? - Mobius stared at the woman in confusion, what do you mean prince? He might not know much about his past, but there was definitely no chance he was royalty.
- Well, then ask 'your Loki'. - She says with a mischievous smile between her lips, delighting in the way the agent's eyes widened.
Damn it, Mobius felt a heat rise up his neck finally realising what he had said, how could he have been so foolish as to call Loki his own. But it was too late now and the woman should have been completely sure of how he felt about Loki by now.
He opens his mouth to try to explain himself, but is interrupted by his wife again.
- Don't worry about me, I won't say anything. - She says making him let out a relieved sigh - But if you want my opinion, I think he feels the same way.
Mobius smiles involuntarily at those words, he knows that Sylvie has noticed his reaction, but thank heavens she preferred not to say anything about and start explaining her plan to enchant the living storm.
- What is that? - He asks pointing to three silhouettes on the horizon.
The ex-agent squeezed his eyes shut trying to see better until... He couldn't believe what he was seeing, the third silhouette was unmistakably his Loki, Mobius could recognise him even from that distance.
- That's him! - Mobius exclaimed excitedly as they approached.
So when the car stopped and they both got down his heart raced to the point of almost exploding as he saw Loki running towards them.
.........................
- He cares about you. - Sylvie speaks when she and Loki are sitting on the hill
Loki 's face contorted into an involuntary smile, he didn't want to admit it, but those words made something in his chest tighten, maybe the possibility of the ex-agent matching his feelings wasn't so impossible. Loki caught himself smiling silly at the thought, who knows after he finished with this place and all the TVA nonsense, he could find some peace with Mobius, maybe spend some time together in a nice house on the beach where the gray-haired man would go out with his jet ski e.... The god shakes his head trying to push those thoughts away, he shouldn't get his hopes up, after all it would only make it worse when everything falls apart.
When Sylvie casts him a smug look, the god realises he had been too long in his thoughts, he needed to come up with a quick excuse before the woman became suspicious of the nature of his thoughts.
- It's cold, isn't it? - Loki speaks shrugging his shoulders.
- Really? - The blonde replies with an annoyingly smug smile on her face - You're an ice giant, you bastard!
Loki sighs in surrender, maybe it was a dumb excuse, but he wasn't ready to admit that yet, at least not before he could use it to the fullest to escape the conversation.
- I could conjure one for you. - He says as a flash of green passes behind his back and turns into a blanket of the same colour.
- Stop trying to evade the issue. - She says, bumping her shoulders against the brunette's
- What subject? I don't know what you're talking about. - Loki babbles in his worst performance
- Good, I remind you. - Sylvie replies teasingly - Where were we? Ah yes, your rather obvious crush on that TVA agent, who is old enough to be your father.
- Mobius is not that old. - The god immediately shoots, digging his own grave
- I didn't mention any names. - The woman raises her eyebrows with a victorious smile on her face
- Damn. - Loki snorts, looking away
Sylvie tries to suppress her laughter, but it's an almost impossible task when her other version is acting like a lovesick teenager over a little middle-aged man. She really couldn't believe they were the same person!
- Look I hate to play cupid, but this is starting to piss me off. - The blonde says losing patience - This could be my last day of life and I refuse to spend it in the middle of two idiots in love with communication problems.
- What is that supposed to mean? - Loki asks turning confused and offended to the blonde
- AGRH... - Sylvie grunted angrily, she was losing patience with this - Just get your ass up from there and go talk to your idiot prince! - She shouts getting up to leave the other alone.
Loki blinks a few times still perplexed as he watched the woman disappear from his sight, probably to join the other Lokis who were talking to Mobius, well that would lead him to another problem.
- Okay, that shouldn't be too hard. - He mutters to himself before walking over to the building where the others were taking shelter.
.....................
- How do you know he's a Loki?" - Mobius asks staring at the said reptilian variant - TVA pruned many Loki variants, but I can't remember a crocodile variant.
- Well, he's green isn't he? - The old Loki in the flashy clothes speaks facing the crocodile
- He could have been lying all this time. - The former agent reflects for a few moments staring at the golden horns that adorned the reptile's head - Well, that would make his chances of being a Loki that much greater.
The old man stares at the ceiling for a few moments before shaking his head in agreement, the idea itself was a kind of paradox and a rather chaotic theory, which only made it more true after all where there is Lokis there is chaos.
Before Mobius could start his battery of questions about that place, his Loki entered the place, his hair messed up by the wind and his shoulders slightly shrugged with his hands in his pockets, and the grey-haired man couldn't help but admire how stupendous the god looked, well he was suspicious to talk about it, after all he considered Loki himself a meaning of beauty, no matter what form the god was in, whether as Jötunn or DB Cooper, he was always incredibly attractive.
- Mobius? - Loki says poking his shoulder, he was so focused on admiring the god that he didn't notice him calling him
- Oh, yes? - He asks with a small smile adorning his face
- Can I talk to you? - The brunette asks with a low, almost embarrassed look
- Go on! - The self-styled 'king of the void' boy preaches with an amused smile on his face, clearly interested in keeping up with some gossip.
- Alone. - Loki snorts grimacing at his privacy
- Ah... Of course! - Mobius speaks getting up awkwardly to leave the place
The two leave the walk outside the structure, away from the curious looks of the variants, they move forward a few meters to where the pizza cart was stopped, it was a silent walk, neither of them felt brave enough to start a conversation or at least exchange glances, they just lightly touched their shoulders as they walked.
- Finally alone... - Mobius speaks trying to sound relaxed as he stops facing the bonnet of the car - So, you brought me here to analyze the dirt of this car? Because I admit it's pretty dirty. - The ex-agent jokes managing to get a smile from the god.
That smile from Loki was surely the end of Mobius, he knew from the first time he saw the brunette's face light up in that smile that this would be his downfall, because no matter what he was doing or how important it was, he would stop to admire the god in front of him.
- Well... - Loki speaks getting the gray-haired man's attention - Mobius I need to tell you something. - He approaches the former agent placing his hands gently on his shoulders.
Mobius didn't know what to expect or think, a part in his brain screamed of hope reminding him of his conversation with Sylvie earlier, but another part reminded him of how the god seemed in love with his female variant and that still weighed on his thoughts. Still momentarily in shock the man just nods for the god to continue with his words.
- This is a little hard for me, because I've never felt this way before or thought I would at some point and... - His greenish blue eyes meet the peaceful blue of Mobius's, fixed on each other for what seemed like centuries, before the god let out a long sigh recovering his train of thought - When I talked to Sylvie earlier, I realized I had to tell you this and...
Mobius raised his hand interrupting the god, he couldn't believe what he was hearing, he did have his theories about Loki's feelings for his female variant, but he still couldn't help but get frustrated with the direction of the conversation, it was clear that Loki wanted to tell him about his incredible romantic feelings for himself. The former agent felt stupid for thinking Loki would consider him more than a friend, if they could still be that.
- Honestly Loki, it's been a long day... - The gray-haired man speaks without enthusiasm, he needed to end it before it hurts more. - And I don't care about your relationship with Sylvie. - He can't help how bitter his voice sounds when he utters the blonde's name.
- But I... - Loki tries to explain himself, but the agent shuts him up again
- Look it's OK for you to feel that way, I mean it's a bit narcissistic. - The agent says raising his voice - In fact it's completely narcissistic and selfish of you!
- Mobi...
- But I don't care, okay? - He raises his finger interrupting the god again - I don't give a shit if you're ego is so big that you fall in love with yourself! - He finishes screaming.
- Wait... What? - Loki asks visibly confused, then a silly grin appears on his face followed by a grise of hysterical laughter.
"Great, now this idiot is laughing at my misfortune," Mobius thinks letting out a long sigh before turning on his heels turning his back on the god.
- No! - Loki shouts before teleporting away appearing in front of the brown man - I'm sorry, I should have expressed myself better.
Mobius tries to stop him from continuing, but this time it is Loki who shuts him up by pressing his forefinger against his lips.
- First of all I'm not in love with Sylvie and she's not my girlfriend either. - Loki says trying to keep serious - I have feelings for her, but not like that, for me Sylvie is like a sister and she reminds me a lot of Thor, which only makes it more strange to imagine me dating her. - He finishes making a disgusted expression, it was impossible to imagine kissing his brother without feeling his bile rise in his throat.
Mobius ' eyes flee the god's face, he felt a heat rising up his neck, by heavens he felt about to explode with shame.
- Well, I had something to tell you, but I think I'd better do something else instead," Loki says mischievously, and before Mobius can try to convince him to speak, he feels a shiver run through his body as the god's cold hands touch his face, then take his lips in a kiss.
The god's lips pressed against his, a soft, gentle movement slowly becoming bolder. Mobius' shock begins to dissipate as he feels Loki's tongue pass between his lips, seeking permission.
The grey-haired man's hands steady themselves on the god's body, one hand resting on his waist while the other arm wrapped around Loki's back pulling him into more contact. The brunette lets Mobius take control of the kiss, so the graying man takes a light bite of the god's lower lip delighting in the obscene sigh that escapes his lips.
After what seemed like an eternity, the search for air became indispensable forcing the two to separate. They rest their foreheads against each other as they caught their breath.
- Wow! - Mobius lets out still in ecstasy - That was...
- I know. - Loki replies smiling, the agent can't help but notice how the man's cheeks seemed to have taken on a slightly pinkish hue, which only made the god in front of him incredibly cute. - So now you believe that Sylvie and I have nothing romantic about us? - he asks mischievously.
- Humn... I'm not sure... - Mobius speaks amused as his fingers play with the prince's black curls - Perhaps we will need to repeat this, just for scientific purposes. - He playfully runs his hands down Loki's back to pull him close.
- Well, all for science. - Loki replies jocularly before leaning in to take the agent's lips for a second time.
