Chapter Text
It wasn’t every day that Chibiusa found herself amid chaos, but it was certainly most. Today a villain had trapped the two in a room alone, separating them from Usagi and Makoto.
Chibiusa huffs as she bangs her hands against the walls, searching for a way out. That’s when her best friend, Hotaru Tomoe, speaks up.
“I’m so sorry Chibiusa, we wouldn’t have been stuck here if it weren’t for me.”
“No, no, no!” Chibiusa exclaims before sitting down on the ground next to Hotaru.
“This isn’t your fault at all! They’re targeting us because in a sailor guardian.”
Hotaru sighs. “I know but… It just seems that every time you’re around me you get hurt, and…” a tear rolls down her face.
“Oh, Hotaru…” Chibiusa pulls the frail girl into a tight, but soft embrace.
“…I hadn’t realized that this whole time you’ve been getting down on yourself.”
Hotaru melts into the hug, crying into Chibiusa’s sweater.
“But it’s true! All I do is cause you trouble!”
Chibiusa gently rubs Hotaru’s back, attempting to soothe the girl.
“There, there, it’s okay. It’s my job as a sailor guardian to protect everyone. It doesn’t bother me one bit that I get to save you so much. It makes me proud to protect those I love.”
Hotaru’s cries take a haunt.
“Really..? Love..?”
Chibiusa flashes a bright smile.
“Yes, I truly mean it Hotaru. I love and treasure you.”
Hotaru looks up with a soft grin.
“I love you too, Chibiusa.” Hotaru releases herself from Chibiusa’s arms.
“Now let’s get out of here.”
Chibiusa giggles. “Right, I almost forgot we were stuck in this room!” She stands up, holding her hand out to give Hotaru a hand in standing.
Hotaru accepts. “So how can we get out…”
That’s when the two young girls noticed voices coming from outside the door.
“They’re stuck in this room!” Usagi says as she fiddles with the door handle, that refuses to budge. That’s when Makoto jumps in.
“Watch out, Usagi- I’m going to bust it in!”
Chibiusa and Hotaru quickly back away from the door, as Makoto kicks the door in, setting them free.
“Chibiusa! Hotaru!” Usagi sighs relief.
“I’m so glad you two are safe. Let’s get you home.”
